Hey guys, I'm thinking of purchasing a redeemed cassacius 5 BTC coin. I would love to get a replacement hologram, as the coin looks pretty lame without one.

You cant.  Buy a generic from ebay

The only way is to buy a casascius coin with an in tact hologram already on the coin.

I could swear Casascius sold some do it yourself 5BTC coins.  No?

Not originals, if he did im selling all mine tonight.

At one point he was trying to get a group buy going for community made designs to be distributed to sell as unassembled holograms.

That project never materialized as far as I can tell.

That might have been it, it feels like ages ago.

So is there any way I can get another hologram that will fit it and still looks nice, maybe even a replica?

If anyone has one, id be totally interested.

Having a stash of perfect 'replica' Casascius holograms would make me a rich, rich man... though I could see that ending in assassination.

Like wheelz said, you can find a generic holo on ebay somewhere. Just check for the same diameter size.

The diy packs for the 5s just had gold stickers, rather than proper cas holos

Not sure. I must have had one at some point, as I both bought one and then later sold it to bitguy. He then sold on eBay I believe

My recollection is that is was a plain all gold sticker. It also came with a sheet of instructions of how to assemble your diy coin. I took a copy or scan of that also.

Finding any of it though .... It will be a needle in a haystack, with the number of coin pics I churn through. I will give it a go, but need to get lucky.

He shipped them with square stickers or am I seeing that wrong?
