This is a rare piece: the largest natural block that we have mined so far for this product!  And it's very likely going to be the largest we'll ever mine, as we'll only mine roughly 100 pieces of the 25+ nuggets before the block halving.  (I can't say it's the largest block ever mined, but certainly, it's very rare to see a block with over 26 BTC in size.)

Auction terms:
- You are bidding for the whole block, with nice solid wood etuis, and free shipping worldwide
- Auction is starting now!
- Auction end is the block-halving time, once block 420,000 is found, as per forum time  (current ETA is 09 Jul 2016 around 15:00 hours UTC)
- Payment is in Bitcoin only, and final payment details will be coming later

- No sniping!  Every bid within 15 minutes of the auction end will extend the auction another 15 minutes

Update #1: Clarification about Auction Ending Time

As specified, this auction ends after the 420,000 block is found (the main chain one, in case there is an orphan).
However, we also have the no-sniping rule in place, which extends the auction by 15 mins after the last bid.

So in some sense, there is a random ending time to this auction.

What does this all mean?

At auction end time, whenever block 420,000 is mined, the last bid could be the direct winner if block 420,000 was found more than 15 minutes after the posting of the last bid.  

If block 420,000 was mined within 15 minutes of the last bid, then we are now officially in "over-time", where additional bids can come in within 15 minutes of each other.  Once 15 minutes lapses, I will declare the then-last bid the auction winner.

So in other words, as soon as block 419,999 is mined, the auction could end at any time.  Please be sure to put in your bids by then, such that you don't miss out.  (We routinely see block being mined within seconds of each other.)

Will production continue past halving with 12.5btc bitcoin blocks being made?

Let's get on with it and move it all the way to 30BTC and match the other blocks.

At what value will the coin be declared upon shipping? Will it be the full value or the winning bid minus the BTC contained in the block?

I do not intend to pay 5BTC+ fees upon import so this is quite important to know if I want to join the bidding :)

I believe that issue was cleared up a while back.

Expect to pay a vat of winning bid minus 26.033.   Of course the gov/customs can do whatever they want.

The physical block of Titanium was made in China, and custom designed by BTCC in every aspect.
Final assembly (stickers, private key) is done by me personally.

The bitcoins are newly mined from the blockchain by BTCC Pool; they're straight from the block reward, part of the coinbase transaction.

Yes, after the block halving, we will continue to make Bitcoin Blocks (if they sell!), but those would be:
- 3 stars
- with 12.5 BTC in block rewards (plus varying amounts of transaction fees)

So the 25+ BTC Bitcoin Blocks would become extinct and no longer produced after this Saturday!

It depends on the value they give it on the tax form. I assume they'll leave out the bitcoin value (just like with their other products).

As stereotype stated, this item is self insured by BTCC, so the Customs Declaration will declare $100.
The very most you'd end up paying is $25~.
It's a block of titanium, forget about the 26BTC, the titanium block is what this is (self) insured for.

You know, I'm not half surprised actually. This is a lot of money for someone to tie up. Take in the fact that a lot of people are 'hodling' their BTC right now, and that leaves this open to just a handful of people in this part of the forum. I don't see this selling for more than the asking price on the website, giving this just under BTC4 premium, at the most. I'm happy to be proven wrong though :) Sure this will return a tidy sum one day..

Just to give you all some more perspective about the uniqueness of this BTC26+ Bitcoin Block...

We plan to mine about ~100 of these BTC25+ Bitcoin Blocks before the halving.  And not only will this 2016 run be limited to the ~100 block, literally, there cannot be more of this made!

Was watching the blockchain, block 419977 and 419978 happened within two minutes of each other. As for the output being the only transaction, I really don't know, two minutes is plenty of time in the bitcoin world  ???

the biggest flaw with such a gorgeous titanium coin is that while the block and its engravings are fire/water-proof, the hologram and private key are not

has BTCC considered either laser-engraving the private key on the block (might cause security concerns though), or otherwise engraving it on a small titanium disk placed behind the hologram? I can just imagine the heartache if the private key got damaged or illegible

At this point, the hologram/private-key is not fire-proof, as you have correctly pointed out.
However, they are waterproof, as the private key is printed on waterproof polyester paper.

Good idea about laser etching the private key itself.  We thought of that, but currently, we don't have a feasible way of doing it while insuring the secrecy of the private key.  We'll continue to think about that for the future.

Will any of those artist proof 1 BTC coin be for sale? :O

Gosh 50BTC + premium on it... Is that going to go up for auction?
That will be the most unique block ever made (only one available).
But I don't understand how that could have happened as the blocks are not consecutive as in the case of the 1BTC Twin coins.
You guys mentioned that the Twins happened because sometimes you mine 2 blocks very quickly one after the other.

Actually, that link is NOT for the error / double funding.

Those are simply sets (a pair) of blocks which are back to back.  Still nice to have back to back blocks.  So, if you're going to buy 2, you might as well get this since it is the same price as buying 2 random individual blocks.  In fact.... if you're going to buy 4, then get the first two sets since it is 4 continuous blocks.

So, still looking for the error (double funded) and the 2015 blocks.

Very true that there is much bigger blocks.  But don't confuse it.

It was the biggest block that BTCC mined (that we know of).

We may sell the error block later, via auction.

The 2015 N Blocks will also be sold soon.  Yes, the bars are indeed labeled as 2015. 
They're already made, but we haven't had time yet to properly photograph them.  We'll add them to store ASAP, but they will carry a slight premium over the 2016 N blocks.

12.5 blocks will also be sold, probably starting in early August.

Correct.  Our claim is that of all of the Bitcoin Blocks mined by BTCC Mint (in 2015, 2016 both pre and post-halving), this is the largest single natural block, at over BTC26+.

The "error" block was double funded and therefore is not a natural product.  It was truly our error.

Clarifying about the "twins" versus this "error".

Both are sort of errors, but the twins case is that consecutive blocks get mined so quickly that some of our mining pool machines didn't get "reset" after we find a block, so they both get inadvertently mined to the same address.

However, for this "error" block, what happened was a misconfiguration, where we made a regrettable mistake and actually assigned two jobs, and caused a double funding, to the same address.  Since this was our fault, it didn't come in consecutive blocks, and we should not call it "twins" like before.

Maybe.... some full disclosure:

They're made in January of 2016, a gold-plated alloy (not quite sure if it was copper or bronze or some other combo).
It's certainly gold in color, but it can wear off easily after enough physical handling.  Further, the hologram was made where the address was laser-etched onto it (instead of black ink spray).  The downside is that it's hard to see the bitcoin address on the hologram sticker, and can potentially wear off over time.  Don't worry, the private key will still remain intact behind the hologram sticker.

If there's interest, we can sell or auction a few of the ones we have left.  Many have been redeemed in our testing process.

Although I am interested, I will probably not be a bidder.  It's an expensive premium for 50.71528925 of BTC on a single item.

I am sure someone would buy it; however, finding 5+ people interested in a short period of time (auction) (assuming they find the thread in that time frame) will be difficult.
