Title: I have a huge gambling problem, any advice on overcoming?
Post by: bandyleg on July 13, 2016, 10:04:44 PM
I have lost nearly $40,000 USD in the past month gambling on bustabit, primedice, and moneypot. You would think that I would have learned that I would have learned by know, but every time I have money in bitcoin, I want to gamble it. I even lost 10 bitcoin in one roll on primedice.

I made around $50,000 last month, so I was still able to live, but it's still affecting me. I know the money I am currently making won't last forever, and I need to save it, but it's hard.

It's just burned in my mind to gamble every time I have btc, and I don't know why.

I am a partner big btc company, and am paid in btc, don't want to say which though.

A suggestion I was given was, every time I am paid, to convert to fiat, but idk...

Any suggestions are appreciated..

You should replace the urge to gamble with the urge not to gamble but don't fight the latter.
Seriously though, gambling addiction is a mental health disorder.

National Problem Gambling Helpline Network (800-522-4700)

Stop it now before you take your business down with it.  My neighbour retired from an awesome job with a great pension and plans to travel the continent with his wife in their 5th wheel.  Now she still works @ 62 yrs old and he drives a school bus @ 68 yrs old - their life savings dwindled from a quarter million to near zero.  They showed me all their winning chits from casinos and also their bank book while telling me the entire story.  You could see the balance go lower and lower by the week. They said the casino would send a car and driver to pick them up and take them to the casino if they called!  Fortunately, his wife snapped out of it before they got into debt as well but they are basically starting from scratch when they should be enjoying retirement.

Its a lot of money, you were did goodjob when you made $50.000, but you're too greedy because you want more and more. Fortunatelly, you still have $10.000 left for living, so my suggest dont gamble all your btc when you got it from your job, just gamble with amount you can affrod to lose.

I was very bad for gambling every penny I made. My suggestion would be to invest X amount of your BTC salary in to silver and gold. You can buy direct from JMB and Provident using Bitcoin and it kinda gives you that fix that gambling does. Your gambling it goes up and you start setting yourself targets of X amount of gold and silver. Kinda addicting in a good way. Also the advantage of having it in metals is the fact it's not readily available to gamble. Takes a tiny bit effort to sell which gives you time to clear your head and think about what your doing.

if it's a rush your craving, life holds many of those outside the pc ;) specially if u got the $$$
if tens of thousands a month is worth the "fun", damn idk, but you need to ask yourself if it really IS friend ...

Yeaaa exchanging your physical money to bitcoin have a bad side effect for gambler.
Bitcoin give a very easy access to any online casino, no need any ID verification,  no name and nothing.
Your whole story tell me that you have serious problem gambling addictively, go find psychiatrist and tell them your story.

I admittedly had a huge gambling problem. I'm not proud of that or the things I did. An event in my life started me investing in precious metals and it worked for me. It gave me the gamble I needed and helped me focus on other opportunities. Yes I still gamble and enjoy it. It give me a high like nothing else can. Do I need to seek help? No I don't think so. In the past yes I did. For the past five years I have gambled and controlled it. I've accumulated more savings in the past 5 years than the previous 20. Just my story and giving a perspective of what worked for me.

Have someone else you trust hold all your bitcoin assets, and give them instruction not to give it all back to you while your still overcoming the gambling problem. Instead of going cold turkey, try to gradually slow down your gambling habits. Let that someone give you a daily budget for gambling, which would grow smaller in time. :) hope this system works for you.

so you are gambling in stock market now? instead gamble in casino?
i think it might work help you out from gambling trap, in casino you will feel trapped to play over again and again.
investing in stock market will let all your money going up and down for long term and you will not withdraw it for long term and you can not gamble it in casino. but maybe a professional help still needed in case you are addicted to gamble again.

You need to totally stop gambling now, before it ruin your life and get you into debt.

The best way to quit gambling is to find other things to do beside gambling, maybe you can play some sports with your friends or play PC games to keep yourself busy and slowly you will stay away from gambling.

Just think of how hard you earn your money and the money could be put to better use, with $40,000 USD you could buy yourself tons of good food everyday, you could go for a holiday with your family.

Quit Gambling For Good, think for your parents, your family, your loved one, do it for them and your life will be better.

Not the stock market. I just buy physical gold and silver and store them in SD boxes. It's my way of saving money. I also study mintages of certain coins and have successfully flipped many coins for 2-3 times what I paid for them. Like I say I still gamble, but professional help is a waste of time. In order to stop gambling you have to want to stop. I don't, I can control it though and not go crazy off the rails. If any of you get the time, watch the movie Owning Mahoney. There's a scene at the end where he's asked a question. That line has always stuck with me.

Find ways to entertain yourself that you don't need to spend too much money. Like playing games, watching tv series, watching porn. Or play poker only on freerolls, play on primedice with faucet.

So the problem is if you had the bitcoin available in your wallet you send it directly to gambling sites, my suggestion for you is send it to any kind of investment before you go to gamble your money .in that case you will not have any available money in your hands and you need to wait before you can widraw your money.

My advice is to not gambling on that kind of gambling who have provably fair. When you win $50,000 last month it's better to stop and gambling on another type of gambling, like sportsbook.

One thing is very sure in gambling is loss at the end, if we gamble for longer time. So once if you made some profits, which you already made so you should have stopped by now and use that money for other purpose. Anyway you already lost most of your profits but still if you want to overcome this gambling issue then only way is stay out from computer for some time and spend your free time with family and friends and keep yourself busy in outdoor activity until you have feeling that you can control yourself. Good luck to you.

I believe if any one wants to come out of these gambling habits, it is better avoid using computer first. Just spend more time with your other outdoor games and also you can make a real friends to spend more time outside. As long as if you can avoid computer then one can come out of online gambling addiction faster way.

That's a big problem indeed, it's already a gambling addiction. As a first step, I think you need to realize that you already have a gambling problem. You have to set to your mind that you have already lost a lot of money, and you don't want to go beyond that (i.e. break some relationship along the way) because of gambling. Let someone else be in charge of your money, or convert it to fiat and make some investments or just put it in a bank. Close all your online betting accounts, spend your time with family and friends and do some interesting stuffs to forget about gambling.

Moneypot has a investment lockout feature set it for 10 or so days and throw your btc into it instead of gamble. It helps you build self control and you can't get it out till lockout is over. When that's done take a small amount out gamble then lock it for another 10 days keep doing this until you regain control. It helps and you can thank me later.

When it's in lock out you can keep depositing into the investment btw so you basically save your money and maybe earn some from the investment.  The bankroll is so big your losses will be far less than going nuts betting. And you may actually gain btc more often than not.

That's a lot of money you wasted there my friend. Think about it if you only kept those money how much will you have now. So my suggestion to you to stay away from gambling is to find alternative way to ease your boredom . Or just control yourself not to gamble.

I suggest you have a trusted relative hold your btc.

I suggest you contact Gamblers Anonymous.

I would offer more advice but the key for you is to have your funds frozen/held for you for a while.

Then attend a few meetings with GA and possibly go to a doctor to help prevent your addictive habits.

Hint look at my profile  I have 17,000 posts  most were done to help people.  And they help me not be tooo crazy with my demons.

I have done more then 25,000 posts online  since 2003  much better then getting high or gambling.

ggeeezzz $40,000 is a big money to lose, and its good that you can be able to live. i think you should stop your habits in gamble, try other activities, to distracting your mind about gamble, i know its hard, but if you really serious to stop gamble, then you can. it always a war in your mind, but trust me, every gambler can stop their habit in gambling, as long as they want and they serious with their word.

I'm really sorry to hear about your problem.  I have a few suggestions to add to the other responses.  I would encourage you to find other hobbies that you can enjoy, possible even hobbies that you aren't doing at home or that use a computer, such as: hiking, sports, bike riding.  Something outdoors that will get your mind off gambling and that will keep you away from a computer.  Another suggestion is to get some people around you that are supportive (not other gamblers).  Maybe you could even find someone that would keep one of the keys to a multi-signature wallet, so that you can still get your paycheck in bitcoin, but would require someone else besides you to make decisions on where your money goes.  I hope you get help.  Best of luck to you!

If you are a Bitcoin fan I understand your unwillingness to convert your earnings to fiat. I have this suggestion for you: ask one of your parents or relatives to create a wallet and after receiving a payment transfer 90% of it to that wallet. With the remaining part you can either gamble or buy food and other things you need, it's up to you.

I dont know so much about this post. Claiming you making 50k a month I'm sorry but no. I dont believe you one bit. Rather take the 40k and invest it into moneypot. Be on their side. You have already seen what happens when you go against the casino so now go with it .

It is depend on our willpower how serious we are to quit gambling, nothing can helpful if we are not aware of risks, the amount you are claiming is very huge and this can be very big problem for every to give up easily, you must thinking what you want from it and how you need to live normal life.

Sorry to tell you, but no one here is going to give you any advice that you haven't already heard before. If you can afford to blow $40k in one month on gambling, then you can afford professional help if you really and truly want help in overcoming.

My advice, learn poker, pay for coaching, win.

What I suggest you do is put it in a business. Start a company or something like that. Take your mind off gambling.

I used to have wild rides with gambling as well, just nothing to your magnitude. Got rid of the addiction in the end because I had a business that I invested myself into.

Gosh, I'm so sorry, dude. According to what you said, your addiction has gone too far.
IMHO, instead of asking for an advice from other users, you need to go visit a good addiction specialists.

The thing is here its already a habit by you, some keep on working to change your lifestyle slowly, Its not a one day job or 1 month job, Try to focus yourself on something like new sports, or music if you are not a music person..XD

It is depend on our willpower how serious we are to quit gambling, nothing can helpful if we are not aware of risks, the amount you are claiming is very huge and this can be very big problem for every to give up easily, you must thinking what you want from it and how you need to live normal life.

that is certainly true, without any willpower it would not be useful for those who want to get out of gambling. The mind is the main thing that can make us go from gambling, so we have a willingness to want to come out in the gambling then we should forbid our minds to think of gambling. Without it so, then it will not work

What I suggest you do is put it in a business. Start a company or something like that. Take your mind off gambling.

I used to have wild rides with gambling as well, just nothing to your magnitude. Got rid of the addiction in the end because I had a business that I invested myself into.

This is a good way.  You take the urge to gamble and turn it into a better habit.

You better sublime this passion to gambling into something else. If you play soccer or any other sport game, start playing in it more. You'll have this feeling you can win or lose but in something less harmful

Because your losses affected you so much that means that you are not gambling for fun, and if you continue that you will not have a peace of mind as even you win you seem to have a feeling of discomfort, I think you have to stop it now because it does not do good into your life and that is destroying your focus on your other goal in life.

IF gambling is making your life so bad and sad like this then you need to face it and tell your family and get help. You have a lot of money so use it to pay a psychologist to help you through this. You may need someone to keep you company and make sure you are not tempted. Perhaps your wife or close friend can hold onto your credit card and wallet password.

This is the best advice on here.

You definitely need someone to help you store your funds, maybe your partner or parents? I know it will be hard, but you need to at least tell someone you trust about this problem.
I can't stress enough how important it is to contact a doctor or a psychiatrist and start treatment asap. It's not too late, but you need to take action before it completely destroys your life.
Remember that you could lose everything if you don't stop, you don't want to have to loan money and end up in serious debt.

OP - The amount itself you play with is huge. What do you do for your earning other than gambling ?

-Do you gamble to earn or its just with friends you gamble and dont know the limit?
- Its simple do you do online or go to casinos to play the game?
- If you really want to over come do one thing Kindly donate every day to someone who needs it whether charity, beggar or feeding poor people, paying education fees of children etc. Just do this for 15 days and see the difference by yourself.

OMG, 40,000$ are serious Op.m I can't believe this. I have one question with you ARE YOU RICH KID? Or You are playing with your dad's money. Because ordinary persons will not take this type of risk. One more thing you are totally addicted to gambling. So our suggestions will not work out. So better make Docter suggestion and Your family help. Only these two can help you to come out from this.

You really have a big problem, keep remember you are just destroying yourself your future and your family which you support, if you cannot stay away from gambling than think that you are earning better from your company, so do not rely on gambling for your earning money, just play there for fun and always bet a smallest amount, with that you will be secured.

$40,000 USD and $50,000 USD is what you have or earn and you still gamble? I highly doubt your story to be real as it's sounds as if your trolling. There wouldn't be a sane person who would invest so much into gambling and then ask how to overcome or stop gambling. If you have too much money to burn, donate it to charity instead and get rid of your gambling habit.

This is problem facing everyone which OP stated in opening post that each time he has some extra Bitcoins he feels to use them for gambling. You had made good money and you need to realize life doesn't offer opportunities of raising so much money. It will be netter convert that in fiat and say good buy to gambling forever. I am afraid if you keep gambling you will have no different fate than most people ending up at zero.

It is a great thing that you acknowledge you have a gambling problem.  There are several ways to at least lessen that urge to gamble.  Though it will need tremendous strength and courage to beat this crap.  But along the way you need help.  You can  seek help for underlying mood disorders like depression, stress, substance abuse, or anxiety.  This can trigger  gambling addiction  and can be made worse by compulsive gambling.  Even when gambling is no longer a part of your life, these problems will still remain, so it’s important to address them.

I had the same like you actually, some time ago.
It was about 4 months ago, when bitcoin was not so popular like now ( but the gambling btc was getting bigger and bigger ).
I had recieve many payments in btc back then, about 1,3 and i lost it all on gambling, because i could not recover...
Just think about what you could do with the money you just lost(you can lose)

Why dont you just get paid into a cold wallet ? You can even have one for every time you paid. This way you won't have access to all your money at a time. Converting to fiat is not going to help as much as you think.

Get a relative to save your money for you. I am bot good at handling my own money myself. I also gamble with them once I know I have extra money to play with but I decided that it is not ideal so I asked my sister to hold my ATM where I convert my bitcoin to fiat and I will not be able to access it.

Even if you OP are working with a big company you have clear signs of gambling addiction which could lead even to you not focusing like you should in the work you do with this big company. Not only you will lose money from this kind of behavior via the gambling you do mostly in game of chances I see but you also risk to lose your job and make things even worse. You should go seek help in whatever way you can and should have a priority in solving this problem otherwise things can go from bad to worse in a matter of days.

Yeah, that is a right suggestion, try to love with gold and invest your 80% into gold, with that you will have another hobby and will remain away from losing at gambling, and the second point is that gold is not easy to deposit in gambling sites as many people are getting addicted to gambling only because of ease of bitcoin payments.

Instead of gambling with your btc, why not convert your attention to invest in btc. It is similar to gambling but it is not such a quick process. You will need to do some research and study if such project is profitable. You may even feel more rewarding if you can spot the right trends. And through time, you will master the skill to analysis well and that is gonna help you in the long run.

Stay off the gambling section of bitcointalk, that's for starters.  I probably would stay away from bitcoin in general and go to a gamblers anonymous meeting or something.   I have doubts about the extent of your losses though.  $50,000 is a lot of money and people have been known to come on here and encounter problems telling the truth.   Not calling you a liar, but.

but investment in gold is such a boring activity. because there is not thrill in investing in gold. there you will have to stay a lot, wait and only wait. so it is difficult for a person who has invested money in gambling can compromise on gold investment.

Yeah we should play for fun, if you gamble your mindset is to win and earn profit but the chances of winning is low if you are not lucky. you lost big amount and even me i never had such big money. if you have bitcoin just convert it immediately to fiat to avoid yourself to play gambling. in that way, you wont be tempt because you have no bitcoin to play.

There is nothing you would be told on this platform that you probably not told yourself or heard before so I will keep it simple, with the way you are going it can only head to two options because its based on chance which is either to fix or to wreck you can now decide which one to go for... My 2 cents...

this suggestion doesn't work for someone who has a serious case of gambling addiction, OP is making huge bets that he has lost $40,000 in one month.

in these extreme cases only professional help can make any difference and he might need a lot of counseling to be able to quit his addiction.

That is right, we should start changing while our problem with gambling addiction is not that deep. Following the advise of your friends and your family is very important as they are the only one who can help you. Bear in mind that gambling addiction can destroy your life and you should be thinking of the future rather than focusing on your current situation now.

Think that you have your family that needs you and they will be lonely if you are lonely too, you can also do a lot of good things in life that could entertain you and not only gambling will make you happy.

That is true. If one wants to come out of this bad habit, first they should try to avoid using a computer and try to spend time on outdoor games like what you mentioned. It also depends on one what he/she like to play outdoor games and also try to spend more time with your family members and friends who don't discuss gambling subject. As long as one don't talk or see any gambling things for some time then surely they can slowly come out of this habit.

There is just one good way to stop gamble, to find something else and to put all your attention in that. If you have girlfriend that is good, find something to do with her. Also think about some new hobby, something you like a lot. Most important thing is to move your attention from gambling and to occupy your brain with something else.
I heard from one doctor that man need 7 day to adopt habit, and 21 day to lose it. So all you need to do is to hold 21 day.

If i am on your situation maybe i would gone crazy, thats such a lot of amount and many things can you do with that amount here in my country. Very sad to know that you lost soo much btc, ill suggest you must lend your money to other things either  spend on your family needs and wants that would be a lot of thing and also  do have a vacation together with your family that amount should be enough, Its better to lose all your coins in meaningful things rather than doing gambling.

Man, you got big a problem. You need a psycologist. This problem could wreck your life i mean you spend $40,000 on gambling.  You to go to rehab so can get rid of gambling. Sad to say youre addicted to gambling and you need stop it before its too late. You need selfcontrol so you can manage the situation of overspending.

If you think you don't want to use bitcoins, then can ask any trusted family members to convert those bitcoins to fiat currency, or can explain this problem to your partnered company to pay you fiat money after deducted their conversion fee. I think they may surely help you one this matter if they understood your real issue. Take care and good luck.

Gambling addiction is such a serious problem because it could wreck your life and even destroy your family and the time comes that nothing would be left from you. As he suggested you need a psychologist. maybe it can help you regarding to your problem in gambling. Stop before its too late many would be affected and number 1 is your family.

The creative part of your brain which allows you to be making all that money is also a curse when it comes to risk reward judgements, its like the opposite of depression I guess in that you cant turn off the sparkly lights in your head telling you to just do it!

One thing I did hear from someone kinda obsessed with spending was he used to buy precious metal coins.   Currency specials made up by reserve banks all over the world and in a way its kinda saving that value and diversifying your currency exposure, reducing risk from soverign default scenarios etc (greece or whomever) just like bitcoin is used to spread and allow value transfer away from fiat economies.
So 24 carat gold coins and similar is pretty sparkly stuff and maybe that will satisfy the itch you have and help you to save a bit of your earning potential for your retirement or buying a house or whatever

I suggest you to hold your earnings to your love ones, or family or friends whom you trust the most. Give them your account or even just your earnings in their wallets and tell them to never withdraw it or give it unless you are using it on purpose, not on gambling. You can also lend it to other people and tell them to give it back at a fixed deadline. Or try to stop gambling, write a sticky note saying all your dreams and inspirations why you are earning bitcoin, and stick it onto your monitor or near your monitor. That would be a great help though.

When any person making already very huge amount $50.000 per month, than it doesn't make any sense why he want to make more, you have still time to quite it for good, just accept what you lost and move forward with positive, I think this would be nice to stop gambling right now.

Hey, Not only You are addicted on gambling but also I think you are too greedy that's why you are in this position. You should know that gambling is too risky for play.it's can destroy a man's life.many people become empty hand by gambling. you should try to console yourself and bet that amount which you can afford to lose.

Hey, OP! Nice to meet a guy who gambles that much, you need a lot of courage to do it... I'm scared to loose even $5.

What I would recommend you to do is to just stop playing with that much money. I am addicted to gambling too, and I am satisfied just by playing with a few satoshis, so it's an unconsiderable amount of $$. Or you can play with bigger amounts of money, but do never gamble for profit, you'll become greedy like you did until now and you won't stop when you need to.

Some other things I can recommend you.... Hmmm, maybe create another wallet, send just the funds you CAN risk to it and play just with that money.

Stay safe, OP! :(

I will say don't keep money in your possession better let them in your bank account. It is what worked for my friend and cut of strictly with gambling sites and all the spare time he was spending in park with friends and family. You need to have good use of time and one week being away you can over come this gambling addiction.

Or invest it on real business that would give you a lock in period before you can divest your investment. We are just being tempted sometimes that why we gamble to relieve our stress without know we already lose a good amount of money.

Some people when they have a lot of money in hand, then they will start gambling for fun to spend their free time but slowly they will end up gambling addiction and this kind huge losses are the cause of addiction. So I don't think all rich people will gamble to make some more money from gambling. Gambling is a very nasty if one don't control themselves.

Do you have a job or company where you make a stable (non-gambling) income?
I think the key is to know that money can be used for better investments which can bring steady profits without much risk. With those 50k you had, you could make much more money long term than just gambling them.
You need to change your mind and concentrate on doing business instead of risking your money. Anyways gambling is fun sometimes but it needs to be done with responsibility.

There is no problem in gambling but only with player. Some player are into winning without realizing how much lost they are experiencing. I think having a purpose in gambling will straighten up and will help you to pursue it in a way you apply control. Try to stop gambling and find the meaning why you are doing it. The idea is that you need to know what the feeling is when you stop. Help yourself to keep recovering from gambling, control your self is necessary.

I think that is a good advice. He should limit himself from gambling by spending his precious time with friends and family. I know it is addicting and I know it is not too late since he is opening here and asking for an advice. Also, his determination to stop in gambling is also important,I mean it comes himself also.

It will be hard for you to quit gambling with that big loss...Aside from that you are earning bitcoins too, that just makes it tempting to use it in betting...But maybe your friend is right, convert it to fiat immediately after receiving your share...  :)

If you can not stop online, gambling means. First stop your Bitcoin activities then only you can able to stop online gambling, Yes if you do not have coins to do gambling means automatically you will stop your play. But if you have coins in your wallet means it is very hard to stop. So try to stay away from Bitcoin first later you will stop gambling.

I have tried this by changing my wallet password by my dad, still I got opportunities to gamble through faucets. Yes, as long as we are having access to Internet and computer, no one could stop us from online gambling. Still, a strong will make help and may make differences.

We all need to understand that online gambling and its addictions are not just due to bitcoins, an addicted gambler will get all the chances to gamble even he was not introduced into bitcoin.

maybe this advice will help that guy to handle gambling addicting but as long as that guy still have money in his pocket, then i am sure that he still trying to playing gambling and not stopping his addicted.

its really hard to stop playing gambling if that guy don't have another passion to his life and only thinking about gambling in the whole days. i wonder that his family know or not about this, and if his family is a good family, then the other member will help that guy to stop for just playing gambling.

You have that big loss, and you are receiving good amount, why not operate your own gambling site? that way you could play if you want and if you don't want let the people play and earn from them. It's not quitting but for sure you make your activity more profitable. But if you want to quit, then I think you should abandon your computer and work outside and just check it out if you are about to receive a payment from where you are receiving it regularly.

True. It's really hard for a person who's deeply engaged in gambling especially if he loses a lot and hoping to chase all of it when he gamble.. and if that person doesn't have any interests on other activities definitely it would be really hard for him to quit. Any advise from his friends or relatives won't matter it's really just on his own willingness to quit.

The money you are betting is no joke, you could go bankrupt on that and will be homeless.

As long as you're in gambling either in sports betting or any other gambling then it is difficult to come out of it and it will not take much time to change your mind and go back to those old sites start gambling again. If you want to stop gambling then first try to avoid any kind of gambling completely and start spending more time with family and friends then surely can come out of this habit.

If you addicted to sports betting there is possibilities are there to come out from this but if you addicted to slot games it's very difficult to come out. You really need very much dedication to get out fro this. The better way is to stay away from internet activities few days and spend time with your loved once.

That money was really big to save up and will help you for your monthly expenses and betting that huge amount of bitcoin in single roll make me died -_- Save your money and don't ever made a huge bets.

i think its not ridiculous because we all know that gamblers will use their all money to get big money no matter if they borrowed with other people so they can continue to playing gambling so its make sense that in only one night, the gambler can loss all of his money. but its a bad think to do because if we still continue with big bet, then the chance for us to loss our money is really big, and do you ready to loss your big money? i  think you're not ready.

One way to stop yourself from problem gambling is to analyze what is needed for gambling to occur, work on removing these elements from your life and replace them with healthier choices. The four elements needed for problem gambling to continue are:

A decision: Before gambling occurs, the decision to gamble has been made. If you have an urge to gamble: stop what you are doing and call someone, think about the consequences to your actions, tell yourself to stop thinking about gambling, and find something else to do immediately.
Money: Gambling cannot occur without money. Get rid of your credit cards, let someone else be in charge of your money, have the bank make automatic payments for you, and keep a limited amount of cash on you at all times.
Time: Gambling cannot occur if you don’t have the time. Schedule enjoyable recreational time for yourself that has nothing to do with gambling, find time for relaxation, and plan outings with your family.
A game: Without a game or activity to bet on there is no opportunity to gamble. Don’t put yourself in tempting environments or locations. Tell the gambling establishments you frequent that you have a gambling problem and ask them to restrict you from betting at their casinos and establishments. Block online gambling sites on your computer.

People do really gamble because most of them thinks that it is the easiest way to earn decent amount (that regards to what you said that we should gamble on purpose) but to tell you honestly, instead of  people can control their selves because of having a purpose they would end up losing more because as i've said their purpose is to earn decent amounts and if not then they pursue it.

I see that you say , you were gambling on prime dice, bustabit and moneypot. In all these sites you are playing games of luck. This is the worst to do to yourself. Gambling addiction, especially to luck games is an extremely serious mental disorder and you should seek help as you as you can. There's no other way out , only having steel will to overcome your problem.

Read this guide to know better your problem and if you see yourself here , immediately go seek help in your country wherever you maybe.

I think you should stop betting on prime dice and such like bookies, why not try sports betting?

As long as you're in gambling either in sports betting or any other gambling then it is difficult to come out of it and it will not take much time to change your mind and go back to those old sites start gambling again. If you want to stop gambling then first try to avoid any kind of gambling completely and start spending more time with family and friends then surely can come out of this habit.

Right better focus on things that will make you forget gambling. For example focus on signature campaigns and trading in this services you'll surely gain and no addiction might happen. Better research the sites that are reliable and with lots of offer.

Focusing on other thing will surely help you out on overcoming gambling addiction hence your mind will be distracted to play gamble again since youre making yourself busy into other things and just like what you said there are lots of things to make yourself busy its either here online or just playing with sports game. Anything that doesnt involve gambling.

Yes, this will help people to stop gambling. But to follow this method we need self-control. And addict to other habits like indoor games or outdoor games and make new friends to spend your free time. Few days stop Bitcoin activities then only you can able to stop gambling.

Yeah focusing upon bitcoin earning methods is better than spending the bitcoin through different gambling forms. Gambling always keep users continue with it, even when continues loss happens. As Op quoted even in loss, some event wins getting a profit.

Very much agree and it is way better to do because with a focus on techniques or how we can do will make things better compared to those who only origin or recklessly to get bitcoin or profit in gambling. Please note that gambling has a very large level of risk, so we must be doing something very well anymore. Without a thought and a good game then the profit we want will never come true

With that serious problem, he must totally quit gambling as he is not making a good decision anymore. What gambling requires us to do is to have fun but we cannot really deny we sometimes do it for profit but with that we must ensure we are taking care of ourselves not to get addicted as it is an automatic defeat on us.

seeing your story i think you're really addicted gambling and for now there is no people could help you besides yourself and indeed most people will suggest to stop gambling but that would be hard to do so because gambling was already influence your mind and for now the decission is in the your hand to stop gambling or continue that with the risk losing all of your wealth

You are right, even how many people would suggest you no one could able to help you from such addiction but  only to yourself if you cant really help yourself first then everyones suggestions would be still useless because you will just ignore them and play all you want. My advice to you better to focus into other things and spend your money on more valuable things compare on playing it all and lose all in gambling.

I hope OP is alright. Maybe he can't check his account here anymore because he lost everything. Hope that he recovers and stops gambling. It is a real issue. Just play for fun, not for wealth. Don't put all your eggs in one basket.

I don't think putting all eggs in one basket is the problem here. It is the uncontrollable urge to gamble whenever there is money available.

This is a serious problem if you cannot control yourself. One solution could be to find someone you trust and have them receive the bitcoin for you. They than pay you a daily allowance or something with which you have to get by. This makes it much harder to gamble large amounts, as they are simply not available to you.

The root cause of the problem must be solve first, I cannot understand why people with problem in controlling their emotion are still gambling despite of the reality that he might lose bigger than the amount budgeted in gambling, this type of behavior will be your recipe to disaster, you can't succeed until you solve the root cause of the problem.

i cant imagine i could have that money in just a year. thats a lot of money if you could have that amount again you could actually start a simple gambling games that has a unique features than other gambling sites in that method you could actually double your capital without playing gambling remember there's no way to beat the house thats why gambling owner is too rich because they're the owner of the house.

Another way is, via self-exclusion. I think most bitcoin gambling sites have this feature already. You can directly ask the site to not let you deposit and play. You can do this, if you've really decided that you actually want to stop.
If it's gotten to the point that you can't even control your urges, then use the self-ban/self-exclusion option. Several months of not playing should help you regain some control.

Yeah, a lot of money that guy have. He should set a limit to play every month, in his case I think $20 000 monthly in gambling won't hurt, as he has a lot of money and is partner of a btc company.
That limit is very sufficient to have fun and to make a nice profit, and the better part is if he lose the money won't be a big loss, as he is able to make $50 000 monthly.

for sure mate if OP only created his own gambling site for sure he will able to enjoy his earnings we can't defeat the house what we can do is just to get a portion of their bankroll if we are lucky while playing inside their house but not really enough to make them bankrupt so if ever we hold this amount lets find partners or invest in instead of playing and risking it inside the gambling site.
