But.. i never thought about directly doing an index on the chain. This might be literally the one alternative block-chain use i could get behind. But if they ICO it then forget it.. ICO = SCAM I made a bunch of topics here long ago that delved into these issues and the one that stopped me from writing code was.. Are the users going to support a system intended for "Pirates" (File Sharing) Right off the bat your going to be on the bad side of many large anti-piracy organizations for example. And will the public look down on this sort of thing and shun it ? Don't forget Github has a large track record of taking things down for any half ass piracy complaint.. and they also WILL send your info to the US authorities for investigation in a heart beat. ..as they already have done this lots. I know this is off-topic so... To me a "Torrent Index" Coin would be far more interesting than a rip-off of a lame Niantic game. Which was already a rip-off off one of their other games with a Pokeman angle / twist tacked on. First of all Pokemon Go is LIFE not a trend! (Just kidding) but in all seriousness while the Pokemon Go Ap may be a trend, the idea of treasure hunting certainly is not a trend. I liek that the author of this topic chose the words "Easter Egg Hunt" hunt in one of his posts. (how very Call of Duty of you) but it is a very accurately comparable thing to call the Pokemon Go Ap. The coin is merge mined with btc and ltc, though note that some of the coins are reserved for the players. The human mining part. In a nutshell, the map spawns coins, players go collect them, when the coins are brought back to the spawn spot, your wallet gets credited. Game rounds are 1 move per block which makes game play slow So a coin that is human mined would work something like this. It looks like their app is really nice. The concept is interesting but are the coins that are on the map just essentially put in places by other users? Ie: the only way for a coin to appear is for a user to place it there.
This coin would be awesome if it worked similar to huntercoin and people were encouraged to go hunt out the new supply instead of hoping some person leaves a coin nearby. I checked and the nearest coin (low value btw) is about 7 hours away. I'd probably go collect some if they were near me, or if the coins were of a high value. According to their website it looks like there is a high value coin near london. Lol I def think geocoin crossed with huntercoin would be a winner. It looks like their app is really nice. The concept is interesting but are the coins that are on the map just essentially put in places by other users? Ie: the only way for a coin to appear is for a user to place it there. This coin would be awesome if it worked similar to huntercoin and people were encouraged to go hunt out the new supply instead of hoping some person leaves a coin nearby. I checked and the nearest coin (low value btw) is about 7 hours away. I'd probably go collect some if they were near me, or if the coins were of a high value. According to their website it looks like there is a high value coin near london. Lol I def think geocoin crossed with huntercoin would be a winner. I like how active the developer is with GeoCoin and the physical geocoins he has made are cool too. I definitely keep grabbing GEO bit by bit just in case it becomes a leader in geocashing. It seems Niantic has put it little to no effort for an anti-cheat system which is understandable since it only delays the inevitable. I suspect after trading is possible, there will eventually be a pokemon black market in fiat/bitcoin.
