While cryptocurrency is a new platform for film funding, it works on a similar model to other investment models outside cryptocurrency where 100% of the first moneys in goes to the investors until the original investment is paid off. Thereafter, 50% of all profits—through to residuals—goes to the investors and 50% is divided among producers, distributors, and actors. For example: If we raise enough Ether to convert to $5M USD for the film. The film makes $20M USD. The original $5M USD plus $7.5M USD is converted back to Ether and the value of your VCAP increase.


You can also follow us throughout production, as the film is being shot. Aside from press generated by our public relations team, we will post daily on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Thanks! We are a bit new to bitcointalk do you know why the images don't show? We tried smaller images but its sort of strange.

We will make a signature and will post it here. Also we want to do a promotion campaign on bitcointalk, reddit, and exchanges but not sure if there are any companies that do that. If anyone knows please let us know.

No it isn't. Our personal number is on our site. We have been trying to raise funds for a while and decided to try to do it in crypto based on some advice. If we don't raise at least 6 figures then we won't be able to get other producers to match us (and we do have people lined up).

So if we dont raise what we need we will return the funds. Both the ETH and BTC is held in multisig. If it was a pump we would have fake volume and fake profiles but no we have hired PR and set bounties instead. This is our first time on Bitcointalk we decided against buying a profile since that would be disingenuos and we wanted the name vcap.

Anyways I approve the Filipino and Dutch bounty so that's 4 languages now. Indonesian, Dutch, Filipino, Greek. I will check my private messages and pay those that PMed us tomorrow.

As for how much is invested, the easiest way is to check their addresses on a block explorer.

Yeah that's right. If it doesn't raise enough we will refund that too. We can't run a coin without enough to make the film. We noticed a few people sent to the ETH address but it didn't go through is this because it was multisignature and that required higher gas price? Perhaps they sent from an exchange?

Its a movie. Devs arent a big deal here. Directors, producers, writers and cast are. With the exception of the cast they are listed on their site.

We aren't anonymous. Our cell number is on the website. The guy who built the token was Obsidian and there isn't much dev work needed. It's a token on Ethereum, we only have to run a python script to pay coin holders ETH based on the Fiat price to repay their investment. We can pay everyone in 1 payment even.

These payments are made a few times a year details are on the site.

We also got advice from some crypto people who helped us make this thread and signature and bounties and so forth. They gave us other advice too on how to promote. We don't do much internet stuff only film so we really would like the help.

This is a traditional investment. We pay you back based on what the film nets. This is a combination of traditional film and crypto finance. You guys can trade Tokens and the new holders can get paid for holding them by residuals. There is no risk. It's just we can only launch the coin if we hit 6 figures. Otherwise we have to return everyone's coins.

How is the production cycle planned?

I dont really know anything about movie production.
We know that you are planning for roughly 9 months of production. How much is preparation, filming, editing and so on?

Also I know its on the website but maybe it would be good to get a little more info on the movie in the OP. And maybe a bit about why it will be a good story for the movie.

Thanks for asking. The pre-production phase is when story boards are finalized for each screen, the actors are all attached, locations are selected, the team (which includes director, cinematographer, other staff) come together for planning.. This is roughly four to six weeks, depending on locations selected and licenses for location. Filming then begins, and continues for roughly 12 weeks. This is followed by the posts-production, which includes editing (including sound editing), music, and any reshoots required. This also continues for 12 weeks about. While in post-production, we will submit rough cuts to the major film festivals in early 2017. The film will be ready for distribution in the spring. We have distributors lined up domestically, but will also secure global distribution.

If we can get the minimum VCAP tokens sold by September 1 (25,000 VCAPS), we will begin building the portion of the website that is to be set aside for our VCAP holders to participate in the filmmaking through live feeds, some of the dailies, and pre-screening next projects.

The story is very good, and has been getting buzz among producers. Listen Carefully is a smart sexy comedy that pokes fun at corporate culture and consumerism. The four girls are fresh out of college and don’t want to start as interns, so they create a ridiculous product which lets them make money on their own terms. Granted, it’s a comedy and the girls are mischievous-minded, but they basically create an invention that doesn’t do anything. Because of hysteria, anger, and word of mouth, their “box” becomes something quite large indeed. The corporations come in, completely furious and try to destroy them. Parallel to this story line, every television in the country is keeps getting hacked to show monkeys flinging crap at each other, which comments further on that state that corporate power has left us in. This is, of course, quite different from cryptocurrency which does have purpose, and does do something. But, its statement is the same—we can create something outside the rules of convention.
An extra plus to support your starting with  our film is that it deals with money. Listen Carefully tells the story of a business run by young innovators, who are taking money and selling tickets in several scenes. Of course, they will make it clear they accept bitcoin, Ethereum, or any other alt coin, and are set up to be paid that way.

Their platform looks pretty good from what I have seen, and they are getting a bit more attention from the crypto community, but their content does seem a bit lacking/niche.

You could benefit from their crypto expertise and they would get some more interesting content.

Do we need to register somewhere for the twitter bounty?

Here is the latest on Listen Carefully and Vulture Capital. Due to a short time frame, we didn't raise our minimum through individual investors. However, with the great press we got and the potential of the idea, we did raise it in USD from private investors who invest in [Suspicious link removed]panies.
So here is the new timetable: We're moving the Listen Carefully shoot to March (same team) with a release still scheduled for summer; We are revamping the website with some of the features for VCAP holders only, which we have talked about here; We will extend the crowd sale. Our next press release will go out to Variety and the entertainment rags, not just to finance publications. We have sent e-mails to everyone who has invested with us to make sure they are still on board with the shoot date. We have some updates with VCAPs that we wanted to share with everyone involved. We wanted to thank you for believing in us and helping us make this ambitious idea come to life
We hit a few bumps with the VCAP campaign and had some unexpected good news too. Basically things are running according to plan - almost.

With the limited time we had to promote the project, we didn't reach our goal with individual investors. However, with the media we got and the potential of the project, we are now working with some  Companies and private investors. They've helped us flush our what a crypto-based production company can really do and have also helped us reach our minimum.  

Also, in extending the crowdsale, we now have to move our shoot date to March. This won't change the team or the release date. We would be done shooting by April and ready to release in the summer (meaning the potential profit return is on track).



So, what we plan to do is:

-  Get VCAPs on an exchange

-  Combine the Hedley Productions site and the Vulture Capital site into one much more exciting site and start putting content in the "VCAP Holder Only" section

-  Continue selling VCAPs until we shoot in March

-  Put our next press release out on Variety and other entertainment media (This part is important, because we weren't able to do this before reaching our goal.)

We know that there's a lot of double talk in the crypto space and being transparent with the people who support the project is really important to us.  We'll continue to update through the site and are always available here.


So - The two changes are:

- Shooting moved to March (fixed date), release still for summer

- We took part of our investment in USD, but through crypto and BC Companies. We'll have to change our marketing hook from "This film was funded by Cryptocurrency," to "This film was funded by the crypto community."

Hi, all. Time to post again. ANN, let us know what you can do. So, here it goes:

Since diving into the crypto world, we've focused on talking about a company run on crypto-currency, but in light the fall of a certain country (no names - we'll just say the initials are U.S.A), we thought we'd talk a little about what the film is actually about.
- It's female-centric - four women who are smart, give zero fucks about what anyone thinks and do whatever they want.
- The central plot is that Americans are so stupid that they pay these women money to sit inside an empty box hoping to receive answers
- It's forward thinking kids are hacking computers, people are are getting out of school and refusing to go into the old business structure, there's unapologetic debauchery and the characters are from different places without there being any reference to them being from different places.
If you want to see more, please check out the perspectus on our site and if you want to see this film get made, buy VCAPs or get the word out. We're going to need all the art and media we can get in the next four years that's smart, inclusive and forward-thinking.
