This is a fun poll to see what people value. If a game show offered a choice of $50K but paid as Bitcoin, Gold or a new Corvette which would you choose?

I chose bitcoin because I can sell when the price rises and gain more than $50k ;D
I might decide to do some altcoin trading and earn even more! :D

not only because i am a BTCLovingDude but also that much money ($50K) is enough that i can even sell some of the bitcoin take a couple of thousand and enjoy the money and then buy some gold with bitcoin and diversify the money and also buy a decent car with some part of it and still be left with a big stash of bitcoin to hold for the future.

Of course Bitcoin, because it's easier to spend rather than Gold or even a Corvette. And the other reason is because Bitcoin prices were more fluctuating than gold, well I know that a stable price is safer to store our money but a fluctuating prices will give us a higher profits.

i should have chosing bitcoin then wait few years then buy a new model of corvette and keep my $50K Value of Bitcoin  ;)

That would leave $6000 or so for Bitcoin.

Although I can't properly cast a vote yet, I would also choose bitcoin. First, because because of its liquidity. I can use it to buy things that aren't even listed in the prize choices. Secondly, Because of its potential to increase in value. Given that there will only ever be  21 million coins ever produced there is no choice but for it to grow in value as it reaches that end. Bitcoin may stumble and dip along the way, but as long as there are people who will trust it, there is internet, and something better doesn't come along, bitcoin will never die or stagnate. Doubly so being compared to fiat, which is created from nothing making it worth less and less.

I certainly would choose bitcoin, because it is easier to convert it into a fiat. but the risk is great when bitcoin prices down, but maybe the price could go back to normal even though it takes time. but a great advantage if the price of bitcoin is increasing very fast.

Well, bitcoin probably, i will take them and do some trading with it for a month or so and then will cash out a half of it and do what i need maybe i can buy gold with that amount too and a half i will keep online for trading or other purposes that can grow my bitcoins with the time.

By the way, there were already a thread like this where we were asked if we were given a chance to have some money in what we would like to take them either gold or bitcoin.

if we could choose multiple choices we would have all (or at least 90% of us) chosen bitcoin+gold for sure.
but OP is saying you can only choose one of these things so that $6000 leftover should also be in gold for you.

I would choose bitcoin because it has the potential of rapid melting in my country in other words, minimal interest in the community gold very slow growth the price is not balanced with bitcoin, Bitcoin has been hailed as the new gold, Global monetary system in inflation

Gold is too cumbersome and problematic to move, it's useless.
A Corvette is a liability, it will only make you send more in expenses and repairs.
Bitcoin will only go up long term.

Gold is at historically high prices and may not have a lot of room to grow. Corvettes are awesome, but will start depreciating the moment I drive off the lot.

If I was offered 50 grand tax free I'd take cash but if the choice was between gold, bitcoin & a new corvette I'd take bitcoin.

I voted for bitcoin! (surprise! not) Why bitcoin? We all know alllllll the things we could do with bitcoin. I'd use about 30k worth to invest in casinos, 10k for trading, 5k for holding, 1k for gambling, and the remaining 4k will be sold for shopping and pocket money. ho ho  :o

I think we can all guess which one is going to win this one on a bitcoin forum site, but yeah i would take the bitcoin, but thats not to say i would shun the gold either like.  you can take your corvette and stick it  ;)

When it comes to investing (long term) based on its behavior, Bitcoin would always be the safest option for me. I know it'll drop. I know it'll come back. I know the supply and its value will skyrocket as more people/businesses demand more bitcoins for their fiat.

Exactly. It is more a nature of simplicity and ease of access.
Both gold and car will loose on that field with bitcoins. Car will loose value faster than One can say abracadabra and gold is heavy, hard to transport and may turn few heads at you.
Actually the only reasonable option is crypto. So damn easy and fluid. That's why we like it.

You could easily have that in a brick or two so its not like it would be hard to move physically.
If you had a good safe or something the gold would be fine.

I voted for Bitcoin but the poll is not completely tell all.  If I owned 50K and not one other cent more, I would have voted for Gold.  I don't think the upside for Gold is as strong as Bitcoin could be.  However; there is almost no chance that Gold will ever go bust!  I took the poll to indicate what I would do with a 50K windfall, taking into account where I already stand in life.  If I only had this windfall to gamble with I wouldn't risk my family's safety on Bitcoin.  I do believe in BTC and I am investing quite a some of money (for me), but not enough where if I lost it all I'ld be in trouble.

It just depends on the people needs if that is just wanna for storing them I think gold is better compared with another and if the people is wanna for growing the amount the bitcoin has become a best option for that.

the car is a bit tempting to me so i may choose that. but if i am thinking more about the money and future and the profit, i would choose bitcoin instead of the two others. besides i can still buy a good car with far less money.

I would personally be willing to take the risk and get the $50k in Bitcoin, however depending on my financial situation I would be willing to consider taking it in gold if I was in a really poor economic position. I would be interested in taking on some of the risk that comes with a Bitcoin investment, and having something like $50k in Bitcoin might be an interesting experiment to see how sweaty my palms would get before I bailed out and just took cash. It would definitely be something fun to do to be honest.

$50k in bitcoin and it's not even close. Bitcoin has more potential to increase in value compared to the other two choices. One is an overrated piece of shit and the other is just a car. That was a joke, btw. Although Corvettes are indeed the most overrated pieces of shit Chevrolet makes if you ask me.

Well ,I no doubt voted bitcoin in any cases even i have more money ,i can use it for some many things ,daily needs and investment.$50k value as paid in bitcoin is to big amount so this amount which i would rather invest small amount ,take risk for it to grow .
If i voted Gold it will not satisfy my needs maybe i would sell it .
A Corvette its just a luxury i would rather need to have any Ordinary quality car that can make me travel point to point destination.

In some point i can buy a Gold ,and A new Corvette if i can make $50k to grow in double or triple .
Some people will voted Gold or Corvette depends on their life status .

i'm a bitcoiner and was never interested using other currency besides my local currency and other altcoins

I would choose getting paid this amount ($50k) as Bitcoin, instead Gold or Corvette, because i believe Bitcoin have the most potential value in the long run and i can get good profit this way

for sure i will choose bitcoin for now,i believe the price of bitcoin will be rise in the future, so if i choose bitcoin then my investment value will up, so i will have more money, choosing gold is also not a bad choice but the price rising is not as fast as bitcoin, so i think choosing bitcoin will be a great choice

I wouldn't even have to think twice about it, I'd take the 50k USD amount in bitcoin. Neither of the other two options have the potential to increase in value as much or as quickly as bitcoin. 

I've zero interest in gold. Corvette? Hmm, if it was a ZR1 then I'd probably go for that, thrash it for a few months and then sell the wreckage for Bitcoin. Time to have some fun for once.

if i win $50K then i wouldn't mind getting it in any form and i would be so happy so i wouldn't be able to thing straight but i doubt that i ever choose the Corvette! :D

but if i get my head straight i would only choose bitcoin as it has the best potential and value for me. so i can win even more in the future if the price goes higher.

at this moment physical gold or even better silver... gold standard will return soon :D

I'm glad that people did not get fooled by the Corvette. Bitcoin is a value-gaining asset. Buy today and wake up rich a decade or two, while at this time your Corvette, except if awesomely taken care of, will be valueless.

I think everyone would do the same unless someone is really fond of gold and he loves its shape or something, because bitcoin is the only thing that can earn you a lot of profits even in one day sometimes and by trading you can double your coins in just a month or so if you know how to manage your trades.

without a doubt bitcoin. a few quick reasons per option.

bitcoin - because i am a firm believer of the potential that this piece of technology has. and i also believe that we at some point will break through the current ath again.

gold - not a bad option at all, but i can't see the price of gold double in value at all unless there is an economical crash or something.

new corvette - as soon as you have the car, the value has decreased significantly already. plus here you have to pay a heft tax every quarter. and if bitcoin breaks through the current ath, then i can buy even more than just 1 corvette. ;)

This is bitcoin forum, no doubt that most folks vote for btc, if it is a car forum, the result will be corvette.  The view of mine is that bitcoin is a good for money storage, like gold, but gold can't rise the price siginificantly, doesn't like btc. Car is a comsuption. The worst choice. I prefer Lambo.

I would actually choose bitcoin as many of the others have chosen. If it's gold or corvette it will just be kept aside and I won't be "using" gold as such, but with bitcoin I can do trading or buy stuff.

I would take the Bitcoin and then sell my current 2008 Corvette and buy the new 2017 Model.

This could be a trick question. What happens if this is a 2017 Z06 Corvette? That is around $85K USD. You could win that, sell it, and still get $50K worth of bitcoin. The extra $35K could go towards a new car or gold. ;D

We might as well go ahead and assume its the base model. Most giveaways of cars are.

With that assumption, it's probably best to go with the $50K in bitcoin. That will appreciate and could help land you in a Corvette within a few years.

I would have to go with gold for now. We are not sure if bitcoin can sustain this upsurge for the next few years, while gold has proven itself to be valuable for a long time now. I can even leave that amount and just give to my children as inheritance.

That's why I would take the btc but obviously if it was a z06 or z07 then things would be very different.

Id choose a mix between gold / bitcoin.
Gold for stability, the rest on bitcoin as a gamble.

Id probably go 50/50 =)

FIAT is an obvious no, no. Corvette might be more expensive in the future - but only if you keep the car in pristine condition i.e. won't use it at all.
Gold is OK - but it's price is rather stable, don't expect huge price spikes.
With bitcoin you actually buy a lottery ticket and have chance you will become a millionaire in the future.

Gold is good but in my condition given my current location selling gold is hard. And also many people will know that you sell your gold and that would threaten my security. So in my case i prefer bitcoin, since i can convert it to cash fast without travelling 1000 km away from home to sell gold or to find potential buyers for my car which is very difficult. I want easy money so I chose bitcoin because it is easy to convert to cash.

Bitcoin ofcourse. The reason is simple. The price of bitcoin is more likely to rise than that of gold so it would be a wise choice I guess.

Corvette. Is a very appreciating car, wil be worth 2x initial price as soon as you drive away from the cardealer!

I would choose $50K paid as bitcoin or some real estate property. 

Do not be too sure of that, because there are a lot of Motor junkies out there, who would prefer to rather go for the Corvette and not to have

to deal with gold or Bitcoin to buy that Corvette in the end any way. If you ask this question to the general public, that are not into Bitcoin..

they would first go for the gold first , and then the Corvette and lastly the Bitcoin. For most people learning anything new, is a daunting

endeavour.

I think you mean to say it will be worth 50% of its value when you drive it off the lot.
