I had a thought about this and just googled it and found the site first and then this thread.  What a great resource and this should really help move Bitcoin apps along.

I just threw in a project (Cruiser review/Photography) just to test it out and promote this site, could not think of anything better than this in a short amount of time.

I will promote this site and follow it often

Great JOB!

Thanks. Good to know it shows up in google. The hope is really show Bitcoin has more utilities and potential.  I approved your Cruiser Review/Photography project cool stuff  ;)

Title: Question
Post by: mobile4ever on April 16, 2013, 05:00:16 PM
When starting a project, there is a message:

Quote
Please deposit any amount to [bitcoin address here] to increase your balance (we require 3 confirmations)

My question:

A project will not be able to be started if that deposit is not made - is that right?

thanks

Hi,

There is no association between a deposit and a project starting. Did you have a project that was listed.
Just let me know thanks!

Thanks. Good to know it shows up in google.

It would rank a lot better if you put the name of the project in the URL, rather than just a number.

We have fixed the price swing problem with Bitcoins.

When you create a project, it saves the btc rate and then uses it to adjust the amount if the checkbox is set and btc rate changes.
e.g. if you project's target amount is 100 btc and project's btc_rate is 260 and checkbox is set... then according to the current rate the adjusted target should be around 236 btc

Ok.. so where do I start ? ..

Why are you making this to promote scams ? This forum has enough space for that.

Let me take some quick examples:

https://bitcoinstarter.com/projects/131 - 1 BTC to do nothing that is not already done, plus zero description on how it will be done.

https://bitcoinstarter.com/projects/125 - 20 BTC to create an altcoin, where the project starter has no idea on how to do it.

https://bitcoinstarter.com/projects/126 - 25 BTC where the guy says he is a recognized python developer. If you are not in this list http://hg.python.org/committers.txt, and the guy isn't, then no, you are not recognized.

https://bitcoinstarter.com/projects/127 - 1.9 BTC for generating money, without any clue whatsoever about how it will work.

I want to post here :)

I have a project on bitcoinstarter that I need to get funded to make it a success: https://bitcoinstarter.com/projects/439. As of now I received 0.0, but aside from that I'm very positive about Bitcoinstarter. The guy(s?) behind it is really friendly and helpful, we had a lot of contact on Twitter. It's also nice that there aren't any stupid requirements like living in the US (kickstarter) or having a Paypal business account (IndieGogo).

Now just lets hope bitcoinstarter can attract some more investors, the site badly needs it.

Not sure, partly because I don't know what exchange you're floating to.

Check on coinpost.com and see how they float ad prices. The way they made the ad creation form seems much more straightforward. Also, considering your 5% fee, you should also put in a x*.95 calculation that says how much BTC will ultimately be released if the project is fully funded, like Amazon Marketplace tells sellers before they submit their listings.

I believe we are doing Bitaverage . I see it changing so it is working. I'll look over coinpost.  Good idea on running a calculation of how much BTC you be released upon successful completion of funding.  I'll add this to the long list of improvements. Thanks!

Please add a filter function to see partly funded projects (like 5%+) and you might want to make it standard as well. Going through pages to see unfunded stuff ain't fun (and it doesn't look appealing for new projects either).

I think you are right, on behalf of PICISI I would like to publicly offer to buy bitcoinstarter.com.   PICISI will be a crowdfunding site that will accept fiat and crypto. Let me know if you are interested.

The EMC2 board unanimously endorsed PICISI.
https://i.imgur.com/H8fekUT.png

The HYPER has endorsed PICISI and intends on being a sponsor.

Hey Armis

As you know HYPER has been behind this idea from the beginning!

We are hoping to use the platform to have game developers raise funds for their indie games / online games that incorporate our currency.

Happy to help out with a PR campaign and perhaps we can also help with developers to bring the project to completion

Just let me know what HYPER needs to do, to be able to be a host cryptocurrency for people crowdfunding to develop HYPER games.

We can also do a large PR campaign to announce the project when the time is right.

Thanks!

The original developer left (sometime in 2014 I think) so Bitcoinstarter and I worked together to relaunch the platform. That being said, the site has new improvements over the previous site, like adjusting the goals and rewards to the exchange rate, fixed and flex funding, and support to accept pledges in over 30+ different cryptocurrencies.
