I am having a dual HD6990 set up in windows 7. I am using msi afterburner to downclock the memory clock for my cards however the memory won't go below about 780mhz. say, If I set it to 625mhz it goes all the way back to 1250mhz... Also, the min value on the adjust bar is 620mhz so how can I even down clock the memory clock to around 300mhz??? So, Let me know what I did wrong... Thanks in advance. I downclock all the way to 150 on my 6950's, but all they do is mine. On my main machine I downclock to 300 on my 5870's and haven't seen any problems as long as I don't watch videos or play 3D games. It's pretty stable for normal use. Post by: CanaryInTheMine on July 06, 2011, 11:50:56 PM You can't downclock memory on 6990s by more than a 100 less than what the clock speed is at. (well it could be 110 less, but it's tricky to get that)
Example of what will work: 880/780, 900/800, 950/850 etc... etc... Do not assume the above values is what you should be trying. Do your own experimenting while watching temps and fan speeds. |
