Title: CPU supportable with my rig Post by: parshuram on October 08, 2016, 01:49:24 PM I just set up a mining rig with Conf :
- Intel i3 - 6098P CPU - Asrock - Z170 Extreme 3 - AMD Powercolor RX 480 GPU - 6 gpu - Kingston 120 GB SSD - Corsair RM 1000x PSU. - windows 10 Enterprise x64 - Ram DDR4 HyperX Fury 2133 Mhz Now I am going to build another rig like this only . But I was asking If I could replace my CPU with another one , Cheaper one so which should I buy. Will it have any effect on my RIG Capacity or will not work. Please Reply. Please Reply. get a cheap dual core or something, the cpu will not impact your mining. motherboard : good one not shitty PSU : best psu on the market is always an investment. atleast 80+ gold and of good brands Videocard... at the moment nvidia >> than amd Title: Re: CPU supportable with my rig Post by: QuintLeo on October 08, 2016, 10:24:22 PM I assume you are going to mine an altcoin as mining Bitcoin with a computer is outdated by years ;) This IS the "altcoin mining" forum. 8-P To the OP - foutside of CPU-specific coins, the CPU has pretty much zero effect on mining speed - I've got one machine on Ethereum running triple R9 290 GPUs with a Sempron 145 (older SLOWish single-core) without issues. Videocard - depends on what you are mining on. NVidia usually is competative on production per watt, but tends to cost more so production per $ is lower, there are a few exceptions though and this generalization gets changes to the specific details as mining software changed, mining coin values and difficulty changes, and newer cards show up.
