I just set up a mining rig with Conf :

- Intel i3 - 6098P CPU
- Asrock - Z170 Extreme 3
- AMD Powercolor RX 480 GPU - 6 gpu
- Kingston 120 GB SSD
- Corsair RM 1000x PSU.
- windows 10 Enterprise x64
- Ram DDR4 HyperX Fury 2133 Mhz

Now I am going to build another rig like this only . But I was asking If I could replace my CPU with another one , Cheaper one so which should I buy. Will it have any effect on my RIG Capacity or will not work. Please Reply.

get a cheap dual core or something, the cpu will not impact your mining.

I assume you are going to mine an altcoin as mining Bitcoin with a computer is outdated by years Wink

This IS the "altcoin mining" forum.

 8-P

To the OP - foutside of CPU-specific coins, the CPU has pretty much zero effect on mining speed - I've got one machine on Ethereum running triple R9 290 GPUs with a Sempron 145 (older SLOWish single-core) without issues.

Videocard - depends on what you are mining on. NVidia usually is competative on production per watt, but tends to cost more so production per $ is lower, there are a few exceptions though and this generalization gets changes to the specific details as mining software changed, mining coin values and difficulty changes, and newer cards show up.

I'm no longer legendary just in my own mind!
Like something I said? Donations gratefully accepted. LYLnTKvLefz9izJFUvEGQEZzSkz34b3N6U (Litecoin)

I was recently advised to get the Celeron G3900 Skylake duo Core to drive my RX 470...  which I did...  Results posted soon.
