As i understand, this is an automatization of the DCR PoS process where the site takes care of buying the tickets and keeping the wallet actively stacking, so the funds will be still locked until my tickets get extracted, am i correct?

If i invest during the BETA-test registration i'll still keep my DCR funds but they will be staked asap, right?

Yes, exactly. This is automatization of the Proof-of-Stake mining in Decred. You can deposit some DCR and the service will start buying tickets for you (you can set the max price, fee etc).
This is a regular Decred PoS, so you will be able to withdraw only spendable coins (which are not locked in tickets). Due to nature of PoS in Decred funds may be locked up to 5 months (because the selection process is pseudo-random).

Yes, it is not an ico or whatever else. All your invested DCR funds will stay yours forever, but they will be invested in tickets asap.

Yesterday platform successfully purchased the first bunch of 371 tickets / 27.41 DCR each.
More than 10,000 DCR is already locked in tickets and first miners will start receiving profit already in next 24 hours.

Of course, all the profit of BETA testers will be counted as their deposit as well. (eg: you invested 1000 DCR on 16 Nov and you mined in this platform + 20 DCR during the beta test. So, your total investment is ~ 1000 + 20 = 1020 DCR.

Yes, the service is still in early beta, so right now there is only one option of auto PoS-mining.
But very soon there will be much more. Already on Tuesday I will deploy a big update with your mining stats and custom strategies.

There will be 3 different options:

• auto-mining using pool strategy (you have do nothing at all) - is live and enabled by default
• auto-mining using your own configurations (you have to set max ticket price, max transaction fee etc) - November 22
• manual purchase, if you want to buy ticket right now - November 30

Deposit page has been updated.
Now you can see your total, spendable and locked balance.
Before it was spendable only.

There is still a little issue with the pending balance for voted tickets. If you have some voted ticket with the funds, which should be unlocked after 256 blocks, you cannot yet see it neither as spendable, nor as locked. I'm trying to find the best solution how to display also these pending coins.

Suppose I deposit 100 Decreds, after how long I can withdraw them along with the profit obtained with the tickets? Grateful

The service itself doesn't have any lock time, but the Decred PoS System has.
The max lock time of the funds is 40960 blocks ( ~ 4.5 months ) in case if your tickets will be unlucky.
Usually the ticket pool is ~ 41,000 - 43,000 tickets. Every block (~ each 5 mins) 5 random tickets from the pool cast a vote.
So, 1 specific ticket has a chance of 1 * 5 / 42000 = 0.000119 to be chosen every block, or 300 * 0.000119 = 0.0357 every 24 hours (~ 300 new blocks per day), or 0.0357 * 30 = ~ 1.07 (more than 100% lol, I am a god of extrapolation) in one month.

As, I said, it's still a random. With any specific ticket you can wait from 5 minutes to 5 months until ticket expire and will unlock funds without reward.

If you have many tickets, most of them will cast a vote in 1 month (I tested with 200 tickets, and ~ 170 voted in the first month).

- you can choose your vote bits: "Pool Policy", "Disallow All Blocks", "Allow All Blocks"
- you can choose your Mining Mode: "100% auto", "Auto with custom settings", "Manual mode"
- you can set your Max Ticket Price, Max Ticket Fee and Max Tx Fee if you are using the mode: "Auto with custom settings"

Also, now you can see your balance on every page.

maybe just one of those hyperlinks below the vote part going to current proposals or w.e?

Yep, closer to the real voting in Decred I will deploy a big update both to the Network Dashboard (https://dcrstats.com/), where you will be able to track all network proposals, votes and voting charts. And of course, updates for Evolution and Dcrstats Stake Pool as well.
So, it should be quite easy to find the list of current proposals and see how the voting is going.

Yesterday I've improved purchase algorithm, so now it's even smarter. I'm continuing make researches.

I'd just like to say I'm really pleased with the transparency of the service so far. Having the chat within the site was very reassuring for the time period before detailed stats and withdrawals were enabled. Now that everything is working I'm looking forward to seeing the value of EFT tokens rise.

I really like to invest in cryptocurrencies that earn interest, so I do own some DCR and I managed to stake a bit on OSX command line, the process was not very transparent though, so it was too time consuming.
I also did not like that my DCR were locked, some for a very long time.

From what I understand using this service I have to actually send my DCR to a third party I need to trust and give up control of my DCR.


This does not seem very secure, at least not compared to DASH where I can earn 10% interest, all while I keep my DASH in my own wallet. I much prefer that.
To run a DASH masternode and earn 10% interest pa I retain control of my DASH, they never need to leave my wallet and I can spend / sell my DASH within seconds if I decide to do so.

What's new:
- I've deployed a huge security update and now ready to switch withdrawals to auto-mode (right now i verify requests manually after all verifications)
- I will upload mobile app for reviews in the Itunes and GooglePlay already next week
- Exchange is coming in February
- I also working on new stakepool API and integration with desktop wallet ( jrick works on Paymethus, however, I need to make many changes to existing stakepool infrastructure to allow users connect directly from the remote wallet)

I'm pretty sure that before the first hardfork voting we will have a great and easy to use PoS infrastructure.

So I deposited 330 DRC, but only 325 are showing.   Was there a fee taken out? 

No, there is no deposit fee. Is the funds are locked now?
I think you was lucky to buy 10-12 tickets in previous round with a super low price 22.83 dcr.
The ticket fee is super high in such popular windows, so you have to pay ~ 0.5 - 0.6 DCR to the PoW miner for every ticket purchase transaction included in the block.
But it's still worth to buy them, since the vote reward from every ticket is ~ 1.5 - 1.6 DCR.

There are profs and cons in such strategy and we were always discussing hard it in forums and slack. If you don't want to buy cheap tickets with crazy fees, you can adjust your custom strategy in Evolution -> Tickets (tab) and set something like: MaxTicket price = 50, MaxTicket fee = 0.5 .Please notice that service will be always trying to use as low fee as possible in the round, it's not like use always only the max one; max is just mean that you don't want to buy with a higher fee. Also important to know, that you are paying only 54% of this fee because the transaction size is only 540 bytes, while you're setting the fee for 1 Kbyte.

182 are locked,  with 142 available,  8 tickets were bought.   Potential profit of +12.  So I had to spend 5 to make 12,  and that's going to take up to 5 months to see the return?  That hardly seems worth it.  Am I understanding this correctly?

Currently, the ticket price is too high. It may take up to few days before the script will buy some tickets because it tries to maximize your monthly income.

The average ticket price is 36.0 DCR, so you won't buy more than 1 or 2 tickets. Every ticket will give you ~ 1.5 dcr of profit within ~ 1 month (but max ticket lifetime is almost 5 months).

This ticket stuff is really confusing. So Evolution is not a Decred thing, just a program to operate your PoS pool with ease and you have an automated system to make this easy?

You can either use a stakepool directly: you will need manually or automatically purchase new tickets for this or deposit to Evolution for total automatization of the process.

I deposited 31.5 DCR into DCR evo and I do not know what to do. I have auto PoS mining on but it would appear that my DCR is just sitting in there like a wallet instead

Correct, but there is one more feature for security. All funds locked in tickets (PoS mining), so even if hacker get access to the server, he cannot steal any funds or he can get very little spendable amount (like 1-2% of total).

I noticed that my Deposit address is different from the address where my tokens end up.

The address where my tokens end up is not shown on my dcrstats portal.
1. Why doesn't it just go back to the deposit address?
2. Why isn't the final address listed?
3. Is DCRstats backed by/run by the founders of this project?
4. I feel like I've just put my coins in someone else's hand, as I don't have direct access to the wallet. Can you help me get a warm and fuzzy feeling about this?
5. Should I be on stakepool.dcrstats.com or evolution.dcrstats.com? (I'm presently on evolution if that makes a difference for my wallet questions)

What is the monthly profitability ratio per 1dcr or 10dcr with Evolution?

Ticket price is locked temporarily for up to 40320 blocks (142 days). It's a pseudo-random lottery, so every ticket can be chosen in 5 minutes or 4 months, while the average time is ~ 28 days (chances to cast a vote higher than 50%).

You need at least 50 DCR to start PoS-mining (average ticket price is ~ 45 DCR), but with this amount you can purchase only 1 ticket, so you yearly ROI will be obviously much lower.

The issue were fixed. Now displayed balances correct again.
Also we have deployed new UI update: now you can see your personal stakepool address with all tickets, votes and transaction fees.

And also we've added table with all your tickets and their statuses to the dashboard section of your profile ;)

This fee is charged from your vote reward (which is currently ~ 1.50 DCR), not from the ticket price (so it's not like rake in poker, which charged from total amount. Instead EVO charges fee only from "the money you won")

If you will purchase 100 tickets - you will pay only transaction fees to PoW-miners (as for any other crypto transaction, but the fees for tickets are much much higher due to high competition).

However, note that every ticket has ~ 99% chances to cast a vote during its lifetime of 142 days. Average vote time is 28 days per ticket (so if you purchase 30 tickets, you can expect in average 1 voted ticket per day). Expired rate usually as low as < 1%. In this case you receive your money back without vote reward (and without transaction fee which you paid to PoW-miner when you purchased ticket)

Big update of Dcrstats Stakepool and Evolution coming later this month (July 2017).

no, it's not possible to lose money in PoS mining, it's just a question of montly yield (like 2% or 3% per month).
Everyone wants to increase his monthly yield, so people keen to purchase as cheap tickets as possible, but also no one want to wait too long (if you have to wait 2 weeks for cheap tickets, maybe it's better to buy more expensive ticket which will cast a vote by then).

You will always receive ticket price back when ticket will vote or will be missed / expired.
Vote reward is 6% of block reward (currently 1.47 DCR)

So, if you will buy 3 * 64.3 DCR tickets today, you will get within a month 3 * 64.3 dcr back and 3 vote rewards (1.47 per ticket minus fee).
In the worst case you will get your money back after 142 days (4.5 months) if you will be very unlucky (every ticket has chance of 99% to vote within 4.5 months, while average is 28 days)

I have some more questions:
1) - Decred Evolution has an automated system to renew the purchase of more tickets, right? Does this mean that my DCRs will be locked for another 5 months unless I cancel the renewal? How do I cancel the automatic renewal if I want to withdraw all my funds?

2) What happens if my tickets are drawn? Am I supposed to cast a vote? how do you do that? Decred evolution let me know when to do it? And What happens if I do not cast my vote?

1) Yes, there is a single button "Enable / Disable Automatic PoS mining" in your profile. System check it each time when it wants to purchase new ticket, so you can disable or re-enable it in one click.

2) You receive reward for every vote. By default it's "Abstain", but when there is active proposals to vote on, you can specify your desired vote at any time. Currently there is no active voting though. (so all tickets just vote "abstain" and receive money for this).

There is pretty much no way to do something wrong.

Yes, correct. You will be able to withdraw ticket price + vote reward after every vote if Auto PoS is disabled.
This may take from few minutes and up to 142 days (40,960 blocks), but in average most of your tickets will vote in 28 days

The average yield is +2.20% from every voted ticket. However, ticket price is 65-70 DCR, so you need enough coins to purchase at least one whole ticket to start voting.
