The 5oz & 1g coins were handled without airtites by the models.  They were all handled quite extensively in their airtites, including some being exposed to water.  They do appear to still be intact and fully functional.

Those coins have been everywhere now! They are very durable :)  The people I worked with to make the book were really fascinated by them

Yes, they are "funded" with seats.  All Minted Seats are attached to seats.  It is what they are.

Og, do you think there will be any sort of long term tarnish from being submerged.  Was it salt water or fresh?   

They know about bitcoin and one was very familiar with other physical coins and gold bars, because she was in my last book  ;)

Explaining NastyFans and Minted Seats was a lot of fun, and everyone thought it was pretty cool

It certainly appears to have been submerged in both salt water & fresh water, but photonresearch would have to confirm.  I'm not sure if they will continue to tarnish inside their airtites once handled or not, but I don't think it will have any effect on the engraved keys.  The airtites on these coins are scratched up pretty good too.  I thought about replacing them with fresh ones, but I think the worn look is appropriate for these coins.  The kind of buyer that wants a perfect coin and clean airtite wouldn't be right for this auction and should purchase through retail channels.  This auction is for someone who wants to have coins with a story to tell.  :)

Also not all in the set were submerged. The ones that were submerged were inside the cases.

The winning bidder will have the option of receiving a still sealed in plastic wrap copy of the book signed by the featured model and the photographer; or an opened copy of the book signed by the featured model, the photographer, & myself, along with a Nasty hologram.
