heres some idea's what people can do this year

1) hardware wallets need a revamp. they need to function without needing to download browser add-ons or connecting to websites or things like electrum.
EG have software self contained
EG a fitbit/smartwatch with NFC to make payment just by swiping a retailers touchpad (and yes its possible (https://i.imgur.com/ukSut56.png), just not done yet)

2) nodes and wallets need more diversity. so far knots, blockchain.info, bitcoinj, greenaddress, core are all under the same 'ownership'

3) PEOPLE need to realise bitcoin is code. it has no voice to promote itself and no arms and legs to defend itself, PEOPLE need to get involved instead of sitting on their hands waiting for bitcoin to do something.
EG if you want retailers in your area to accept bitcoin. go speak to them yourself
EG if you want to make bitcoin more popular. learn about bitcoin then set up some meetups/conferences

4) bitcoin jobs. look for a product/service you think will be useful to sell. then look for suppliers/employee's/dropshippers and then start selling them for bitcoin.

5) exchanges should start requesting a public key and use the bitID concept for logins instead of passwords, and also use the public key to form multisigs to hold funds, instead of giving customers easy to fake mysql balances. thus mitigating hacker/insider embezzling risks

My intention is to continue to build my blog about bitcoin and make it a nice place to find information for the bitcoin community. I want to continue on expanding my knowledge on the area that involves the cryptocurrency world and the blockchain (I know is only a layer in the bitcoin ;)).

Furthermore, I plan to buy a Trezor as soon I will reach 300CDN in bitcoin value.

My intention is to try to send requests to new ecommerce websites to recommend them to use bitcoin payments in my country as there are many Indians who are aware of this currency as it has already come in papers and news channels. If one accepts this currency, others also would be tempted to use it.

More on Bitcoin awareness starting on the local community and hopefully word of mouth to reach more people, Most people mentality everything that involves money on the internet is a scam. changing the perception about bitcoins will be a good start.

I will build a bitcoin community in the area where I live. I believe the greater the bitcoin users it will assist in the development and improvement of bitcoin in the world. I want begin everything all over.

best advice.
start small.
dont hire big spaces out like a open space building for a year. start small like do a local meetup at a easy to find cafe /bar that is common place and doesnt require deposits or reservations.. like a small random one off social event. just to gauge/see how demand/popularity

then if lots are turning up and while talking you see there is demand for a regular large location to be needed then do it.

some people start at a bar where say 10 people turn up. then those people go and find a few others and the following week you book a night at a bar with a stage/(karaoke/mic night) area that can cope with 100, and you make it into a mini conference with speakers talking on stage. then you expand from there

if you already know of 100+ people locally that will want to turn up then skip the meetup and instead book a night at a place that has a stage and enough standing seating area, and then charge a small entrance fee to cover your costs for the night.
try not to get greedy with the entrance fee, unless it starts becoming a big event with lots of guest speakers and things happening

Well, i would say:
1. More adoption, growing in steady rate or explode
2. More infrastructure developed, startups, bitcoin websites and services
3. More technical advances like in 2016 in bitcoin technical side.

Thats it :) that would be great 2017 year.

If personal issues is counted than my good intention for my Bitcoin is to hold it and later on convert it to Fiat when Bitcoin's price is up. Bitcoin earning is now part of my life as it really help me have an extra boost in my financial situation. It really helped me have savings without even bothering my real money. Later on the money will be use in Investing in the stock market. I am still young and I am hoping that my money will be big later on.

My prediction and wish for 2017 year is:
The price of Bitcoin will rise exponentially following the increasing number of investments in it.
Many new crypto currencies will appear with the hope to repeat the success of bitcoin.
And many new places as shops and other firms will start to accept bitcoin.

My main intention for 2017 will be to gradually buy more BTC on a rough dollar-cost-averaging basis.  If BTC price continues to go up sharply, I will likely spend some BTC on gold.  But, I jumped the gun on that (bought gold when BTC was ~$500), so I will take my time on spending anymore BTC for gold.

I really like some of franky1's list, especially making hardware wallets better.

advantages
no software touches the device
private keys remain hidden
the device is wearable (new fashion craze=popular)
making a tx is as simple as shaking your wrist
no need to understand the mechanics of bitcoin to use it

I will start saving my satoshi this 2017. Instead of a small portion I will allocate 50% of my earnings to savings. I want to save at least 1 btc and that is my target this 2017 to have at least 1 or 2 bitcoins saved in my wallet. I will just keep it there for 5 to 10 years so if after that period and the price is very high I can fulfill my dream of building my own house.

Is there really a need to do that at this point of Bitcoin's evolution? Those days where each user held hands and banded together under the ideals of libertarianism is gone. Bitcoin is a fully functional currency now thanks to the dark markets. Having good intentions or not will not really make a difference.

I think that bitcoin reputation is a common problem, many people still think that it is only used for illegal activities.
I dont want to see that community suffers for the lack of knowledge. This is not OK for us: bitcoin users, so we should encourage people to look into real bitcoin mechanics, and society.

My intention with bitcoin ia the same as last year in the same time, I don't wish to change anything when I'm doing alright. Signature campaigns, gambling with that money, especially poker. It would be smart if I start to put some bitcoins on a side, I just talk about it but I didn't start yet, it's much more interesting to gamble.

A bit confused with the meaning of "intention regrading Bitcoin". Anyway,

As for me, I have an idea about running a Bitcoin forums that pay users in a fair and more transparent way back in 2015 already. I only started working on it in late December 2016 and it took me about a week to get the initial requirements done. It was opened to the public on the second of January this year.

My new year resolution is to make TheBitZone (http://www.thebitzone.com/) a popular Bitcoin forums. Our focus is not on the development side of Bitcoin. Instead, we discuss about the uses of Bitcoin - because that's where Bitcoin is heading to. :).

Since 2017 has a great start for bitcoin, The price just get past to $1K hopefully it get past $1000 this 2017 not just for a few days but for months and maybe for years .

To be honest, I still haven't understand the technical stuffs of bitcoin and I am planning to do it even if its just little by little this 2017
and to have some different way of earning aside from this forum and trading .

Lastly, This maybe is just a hope but someday I want to reduce people getting scammed in bitcoin related things especially from those who says a very convenient things which is obviously not true .

I'm also saving bitcoin because I'm trying to buy my own place for me to ready for my future. Even though Bitcoin took us through some roller coaster ride a few weeks ago and still remains unpredictable I have positive intentions for its prospects this year, I forsee it crossing the $1500 mark this year as more people are getting involved by the day and the corresponding consistent difficulty rate in mining I have no doubt we'll cross that line this year.

What do you mean by my good intentions about bitcoin this year? Do you mean if what are my plans involving bitcoin this year? Well, I planned to keep adding investments on some sites that I really trust and keep on saving some bitcoin to sell when it's value increases!

Lol. Intentions will not make changes in price or adoption. If we make bitcoin familiar to the other people around the world means if they have a fine view and good intention about bitcoin means it helpful bitcoin communities.

If there will be projects that can come up with regular guys like me which can help with bitcoin society then I will. But this days it is hard to find something like that. They want geniuses when it comes to this projects and those who are not will be put just on the side.
We people are made for good intentions whether you like it or not. It is just bad choices that makes it harder.

to date I have not thought of great things to bitcoin. I just want to focus in the hold, or keep bitcoin I get. perhaps, when the bitcoin prices rise, I will think about the steps I should take. but, I probably would take steps to make bitcoin just become a lot more like an investment or trading.

advantages
no software touches the device
private keys remain hidden
the device is wearable (new fashion craze=popular)
making a tx is as simple as shaking your wrist
no need to understand the mechanics of bitcoin to use it

pretty much interesting. Tho this type of technology isn't really safe in our place tsk. It will be stolen from your for days only that is how bad the situation is tho i like it there is no difference in our phone anyways.

heres some idea's what people can do this year

1) hardware wallets need a revamp. they need to function without needing to download browser add-ons or connecting to websites or things like electrum.
EG have software self contained
EG a fitbit/smartwatch with NFC to make payment just by swiping a retailers touchpad (and yes its possible (https://i.imgur.com/ukSut56.png), just not done yet)

100% agree, it's really not safe to use addons and bullshit like that.

Have a small USB size wallet or a smartwatch, with a little display interface, hopefully not 8 bit, but something with normal resolutions.

2) nodes and wallets need more diversity. so far knots, blockchain.info, bitcoinj, greenaddress, core are all under the same 'ownership'

But if people dont care? Monopolies dont just go away by their own. People dont care about diversity, until the services they use are trustworthy.

This is very annoying. People just want bitcoin to grow by itself, by doing nothing to promote.

Everyone should create themselves some media channels on YOutube and elsewhere ,and start blogging about bitcoin.

Or promote it locally in your small town or village.

4) bitcoin jobs. look for a product/service you think will be useful to sell. then look for suppliers/employee's/dropshippers and then start selling them for bitcoin.

This will not be achieved in 2017, need a lot more work on this, and people are scared of govenrment bans, so until governments come clean on bitcoin, this will not happen.

5) exchanges should start requesting a public key and use the bitID concept for logins instead of passwords, and also use the public key to form multisigs to hold funds, instead of giving customers easy to fake mysql balances. thus mitigating hacker/insider embezzling risks

I am not sure an ID system is wise from privacy standpoint, but yes making exchanges transparent is very necessary.

We are tired of fake chinese pump and dumps, and market manipulation with fractional reserves. We need a clean exchange with no fake volume, and a limit on margin trading.

This is not my priority right now i learn in trading but i am not staying in one place because anytime soon trading site can be hack or down or bitcoin be crash due to lots of problem about blockchain.. so i am in marketing affiliate and promoting and investing my money to start PPC advertisement and get some leads and emails.. that can gives me money.. everytime i withdraw i just convert the others and save the other for future..

Its just a concept though, they could add like layers of security 2fa,  passwords and passphrases to the device before you can gain access to the wallet. I like it maybe satoshilabs can make this one happen.

Bitcoin will continue to grow higher and higher than the past years. On account of this sure there will be lot of new users as well adopters. Trying to make use of this situation I've been gradually increasing my trade limits to earn the good profit through trading as it looks to be the right year.
