I know the new bitcoin about a year ago it was also the result of browsing in the google and search for info from the internet. Now that a lot of my friends who are interested in bitcoin because I've never buy credits and other needs without pay with cash, they ask what it is bitcoin? And how to obtain them?

I explained my best, but maybe they thought it was complicated, so they will not be going into bitcoin.

I want to know how to explain about bitcoin's simple, so ordinary people easily understand and be interested?

For me just told them how we use Bitcoin.And just show them the price graph of Bitcoin.Just simple but I used this to my friend and he now using Bitcoin.

You need to explain him with parallel to the system of your online banking money .
But at the end you need to tell the benefits of bitcoin over fiat .
Thus everyone will take interest to understand about this in better manner .

For me the best way is to show them a video about bitcoin and choose the best video that really describes and explains about bitcoin precisely because on this method they could easily understand compared on explaining it to them by yourself.Video would really help a lot regarding on this matter and its good to hear that your friends decide to engage on bitcoin because they saw regarding its uses.

Yup agree video would be nice choice learn about bitcoin. Especially bitcoin documentary videos the best one and  then coindesk and reddit would be so helpful learn more about bitcoin.

I have learned a lesson about 'not going too much into detail' because it confuses people and the ongoing discussion was too complicated ... just describe the basic idea ( decentralized ) and tell them it's evolution ... compare it to emails vs regular mail (20 years ago only few were using email and watch it now ).

The best way I've personally found to get people involved is to let them have a few cents to test moving around on the blockchain.

when i was introduce to BTC way back 2014, i was showed first how to earn BTC freely with a small effort and easy task. that is thru faucet, until now i introduce people thru BTC by showing them earning opportunity thru faucets, its small amount but they can easily get hold some coins to know how it works,

When I tell to friends what bitcoin is I always say briefly, it's better to show some videos from youtube or coindesk.

I just say in the simple way bitcoin is like as traditional currency(usd, euro,,). we can only see it but not to take it in our hands.
bitcoin is very easy and safer than traditional currency. that's it.

to me i think it will be more good if you give him some live examples from your daily life. for example if you know about a person in your society and he is making good money from bitcoin or he received good services from bitcoin then you can mention him his success because of bitcoin.

It is difficult and depends on whom you're trying to explain. You should each time to take into account the age, educational level and willingness to learn. The most difficult "students" are people have passed middle-age with low educational level but they don't wish to devote for learning more than the minimum time. These people will be forced to learn only if all the others around them are using bitcoins

However you could able to use it like fiat until government make bitcoin as the centralized money. Bitcoin is upgraded version of money and i think upcoming generation will use Bitcoin only. Hopefully USA might be first country to have bitcoin as their national currency.

From my experience, like how I was introduced into bitcoins may help you to find a way : I was first introduced into bitcoin faucets from that I started using it similar to PTC sites. For me I would rather explain it the simplest and shortest. Why? Listeners tend to get bored when the explanation is too long.
So just tell them what bitcoin is offering to them. Those features that will sound inviting in their ears.

Exactly, you have to find a concise way to simply and effectively explain to people what it is and what it's better than the current system, then surely they would find it tempting to look into it more themselves and maybe even start using it!

Explaining bitcoin to a newbie is not easy... You need a lot of patience in doing it... But to make it easy, I suggest that you just point them to this forum to know more about bitcoin or if they have internet, let them search bitcoin by their own in the internet and just tell them to ask you when they don't understand a thing specailly the tricky ones like the blockchain, sending money in and out and ways to earn it and of course, the exchanges/trading sites...  :)

That could be possible if you point them here if the person is patient in reading. But in my experience none did pursue it when I go to that method. But some did when I explained it to them like "spoon feeding". I guess it will srill depend on the person if he or she will listen or not.

I agree, I think it's a large problem that we have, being able to convey the message of bitcoin in a way that everyone will understand. I think a good way might be to use a bitcoin wallet app as they'll most likely have a smartphone. Have them install the app which takes only but a minute, send them some btc from your smart phone, and explain it that way. It would take maybe what, 5 or so minutes?

I think this depends upon person to person as what basic knowledge particular person have. Because Bitcoin is not a thing which can be defined or described in 1 day or 1 hour. It need constant upgrade to new user about bitcoin and its environment. This knowledge can increase faith and belief in bitcoin which finally results in awareness.

As someone explained to me earlier it is an online currency, which is very easy to transfer from one point to another, without waiting for a lot of time for a person to receive money. Also you can use it to buy some things on internet, so you don`t need any credit cards, paypal and etc. ;)

Just explain with most neutral voice out there, that this is new gold, because of that and that, its unique because of that and that.

You can search on the web for a clearer answers for them to get interested in bitcoin. Well theres a lot of videos for newbies if they can not understand what they have searched.you can add some usefull tips for them while they are watching those videos.

Average beginners interested with bitcoin because bitcoin can be used as a payment or substitute for money. introduced system what it system bitcoin, not easy for beginners to get bitcoin they must learn from experience if done will see who is really interested. you can give them a lesson how to way get bitcoin (mining, trading, etc.)

Seeing videos about bitcoin is the most effective way for me specially on complete newbie on bitcoin because videos does really explain precisely compared to us coz there are times that we cant explain it to them clearly which causes for them to refuse instead of being interested.If videos doesnt work then tend to show them on how do you use it.

I remember the time when I explain bitcoin to my wife. I told her bitcoin is like Paypal but the difference is bitcoin is not centralized.

Then she asked me, if not centralized who holds the entire system? So I told her the bitcoin miners act as the server of the bitcoin sytem. In return a small fee was given to miners from bitcoin sending transactions.

And that's the only effective way to teach them, just like how we learn to drive a car, we do it our selves with just a guide from a pro. Telling them so many things about bitcoin would just make them confused about bitcoin.

I do believe that teaching them how to send bitcoin to another address would amaze them and probably would make them start using bitcoin too.

It is a digital currency that can be used as money, for now it is still few shop that accept bitcoin, but you still can exchange it to fiat, if i want to explained bitcoin i will explained it like that and i will show some proof by purchasing things using bitcoin or cash out to my bank accpunt

You know who need money they will try to know aromatically about the bitcoin, but if your friends thought that it is complicated than you can't do for them, because they have no interest about it. Explaining bitcoin to a beginner is like you are teaching a kid without using anything bitcoin is from internet which is they can't adopt it when they not familiar with this currency and if they don't know how to use a computer properly. Just simply say that bitcoin is a currency online that we can use alternatively.. unlike cardless or virtual payment online..

good advice man. using videos as a means of letting other person understand what bitcoin is might be so far the easiest way. there are lot of videos in youtube where you can find some short but comprehensive and easy to underdtand videos to who evers gonna watch it. there are some animated so its not boring, there are also documentary videos or news perhaps. try to let him or her see a certain video first then if he or she's intetested, then explain more. or try to simplify by explaining that bitcpin is somewhat money you can earn in the internet.

The best way to explain this to a beginner is to let them observe first what you are doing after they get curious by what you are doing  then little by little you explain this to them that they can earn bitcoin through using, holding and trading with it and that they can join also  forum where  they can learn a lot of strategy on how to earn.

I suggest newbies to view the videos about bitcoins in Youtube. Specially I suggest to everyone to watch Raise and raise of bitcoins. This is the best video according to my knowledge about btc. Then newbies read the multiple thread in the forum and read btc news in coindesk.

As suggested by above mate several videos explaining bitcoin and its usage were been created and uploaded to YouTube. Its the only easy way a beginner can learn about bitcoin. Several other sources are found online and separate websites are there to teach about bitcoin as well the supporting technology.

I think much better to explain it actually but it give s them a video it can help to know what is bitcoin..
But it still the best to show them how it works so that they know how to use it..

Obviously bro. I agree that only videos will not help to learn the bitcoins completely. Still many high members does not completely know about the commercial use of bitcoins. If they know experienced mate with them in next room or friend in bitcoin can only help them.

Let them start with learning the processes with faucets Here (http://www.kwaasteniet.eu/faucet/) is a list with well known faucets.

There are plenty of good wiki's. I suggest you first introduce these to them and give them time to learn, after they get a basic understanding of the bitcoin community then you can start explaining the parts about exchanging and the more complex parts.

I don't think that a digital currency would replace fiat money since fiat money is the basic element for doing transaction wether it is online or peer to peer. Imagin if there is now fiat money, how can you deposit or withdraw? Bitcoin's purpose is only to be used on online transaction, investment, and trading not to replace fiat money

Many people dont understand what is bitcoin.

I did to explain Bitcoin to my friend but it's hard to express the meaning in my mind. So I told him that why not search it on google or visit this forum and ask what's in your mind. In the end he's not interested.

I don't know if the same way on how you have learned bitcoin would be effective for them to also learn other information about it . I also have some friends who are getting interested to learn bitcoin and how to earn them recently but eventually they also found it a bit complicated as well and I don't think if it could be effective to advise them to start on the way where I had started which is faucets but maybe giving them some article about bitcoin where it can be used, translated into your local language could be good and teach them to create their own wallet and how to use it .

It will be very easy to person who has knowledge about computer back ground but for the people who don't have any knowledge about computer for them it is very hard to explain about bitcoin. Even we show them videos it is useless because bitcoin is completely different technology which is completely based on computer terminology. So it is very hard to for the people to understand about bitcoin.

Try to elaborate steps by step tell him first about the faucets where he can get free bitcoins and if he already knew on how he can received money or send money they you both can start with trading. If he don't interested why to waste time right? But sometimes we need to be patient its like om trading you need to wait for the right time everything happens for a reason

I agree that it is very hard to explain how bitcoin works for someone who's not familiar with digital stuff. There are some good videos but also excellent infographs available that makes the job easy! Just browse pinterest for example and you'll find couple good channels that offer well-made bitcoin related material.

Just explain them that bitcoin is just similar to paper money or fiat but the difference is it safer because we don't need to expose our identity in order to make transaction and also it is wise choice because bitcoin request smaller fees than any traditional fees like on banks. Additional Information, you can also give them articles to read and videos to view so they can fully understand what is bitcoin.

Essentially provide an explanation about bitcoin, then also give examples directly or in other words the practice themselves, so that beginners understand

Beginner videos or best to just download wallet on their phone and send then some. Most people i know, know about paypal or square cash. Bitcoin is similar accept its decentialized.

Here is the easy explanation anyone can understand. The bank uses its own processing power to process your transactions which is why they make you pay all these silly fees. Bitcoin puts you in control and no longer the bank. Now you ask but where does the processing power come from ? The answers is miners. They have the processing power to transfer the transactions and are paid a small fee for the troubles. Same as a bank but the processing power is in the peoples hands. No bank is needed and noone is in control.

Its really quite simple. Another thing is bitcoin is worldwide. Your bank is local only. The proxessing power is local that is what I mean. Bitcoin had miners all over the world.
