Due to the current huge daily increase of bitcoin do you believe\think that one bitcoin equal 2000 USD by the end of this month - Feb2017 ?

Anything is possible with BTC, it can go up to $2,000 at any time of the day. it can also go down. all we can do is predict and hopes our prediction come to life.

I'm hoping that the best possible outcome for bitcoin happens. Whether that means $2,000 per btc, or $800, no one knows, thus I don't even know. I'm not in it for the short term profits, I'm in it to change the world.

I think the bull market will continue for another couple weeks up to 1300$ and then settle down at 1100$ to move sideways for a while, just my 2c  :P

No one really knows what will happen for the next months with bitcoin for this year of 2017. But to have positive outcome we just need to be positive thinker and let's just say it will possible hit $2,000 this coming February 2017 and if that didn't happens then let's assume that the price dump is not that going to be very low.

How about $1,000 increase each month for 2017 as crazy as it sounds it is possible if we get a push from one of the major companies.

i Think this is going to end up getting moved to speculation but my thoughts on the subject are that we wont hit 2k by feb, It would be pretty insane if we did but i think momentum will slow down a good bit over thge 1k mark. I dont think we are ready for moon yet, i just dont think we have the adoption we need yet.

It is a very dreamy prediction to actually happen by next month. It sounds to good to be true that it will reach that price in a very short time but it is not possible. In my opinion if there will be an increase by next Month it would only climb up to 1200$ dollars. For me 2000$ per bitcoin may hit the market but not next month probably by next year.

Noone knows, but what i think? I think there is a chance, but 2000$ is too high by my bet. There is chance for 1500$ but 2000$ thats too optimistic for now. Maybe in 2018 or 2019 or 2020.

Some are saying we go to 2000 or more in a month, other that we will drop to 500$ within the few days. To my opinion all these options are exaggerated. There is no doubt this now is a huge jump in price but probably it will not last forever. We can expect smaller corrections and maybe stabilisation of price around 900-1000. Then we'll see what happens next.

this month is January and the next one is called February and no it is not going to rise up $1000 to your dreams come true. this current rise you are seeing is going to slow down and stop then people who were dreaming about moon is going to panic and price will drop.

only after the drop (which is shaking the weak hands out) the price will rise to $2000 and that takes time.

I think the price cannot continue to raise indefinitely, the price should stabilize soon or later. I believe it could go back to 900USD and then stabilize for a while, but deeply inside of me I really like to see the chart go reach the moon ;)

2000$ it is difficult in such a short time, if it is up that fast it will bounce down again, but there is still one event that can make the price go up, that is chinese new year, most of the bitcoin user is from china so maybe this event can make the transaction rate higher and cause the price to go up

What major company? And how would they push the price up?
No company is going to adopt Bitcoin, they might accept it, but there is no real reason why that would hugely increase the price.

Exactly this happened the last time. In a short time a increase that large is not sustainable. For now getting stable support above 1k is more important to get to 2k

i'm not sure, if we look to reach the current price takes a long time. $550+ in august 2016 and continue to rise till now it takes 5 months. but not impossible to reach 2000 in february anything could happen.

I think the possibility of hitting 2000$ usd each bitcoin is only 10% i think , It is not impossible to reach that high in a month but the chance is very low.  The time of increase is only very short . If a major project or company enters bitcoin community it might happen.

I don't want to go through any deep explanation or criticism but its natural thing that people seeing this much high price with BTC after almost 3 years , so most people will sell heavily in next few days to earn profit and then the price fall starts :) ; Don't really think it will increase to 2000$ but again anything can happen , still i believe that anyone is in profit should immediately cash out now and hold the FIAT currency , so asap crash happens buyback in low immediately :)

Any bad event happening in this world that goes on a big scale (like many victims or so) affects Bitcoin positively. The European Union wants now to control Bitcoin, Gold and Silver too (Reuters reported that a few days ago). This affects us in a positive way again, because the demand is going to go crazy in the following weeks. I do believe Bitcoin will rise very fast soon, even sooner than others might think. I have convinced two friends to invest in Bitcoin weeks ago, and now they thanked me. This is the perfect time for investing in Bitcoin, do not wait more!

I dont think soo that bitcoin price would hit up that high on this year.Seeing on the movement of bitcoin price it takes years to reach up again on $1k and we should not assume that it would double its value fast in next month and thats really impossible to happen on reaching and we should think off on the thing that bitcoin might dip its price after the price increase rally.

Well there is a possibility of bitcoin's price hitting $2000 but I don't think it's gonna happen that fast. Because we all know that bitcoin has gone through many stages and difficulties over time to reach the level of $1000 like today, bitcoin can hardly rise up that high in only a month. Unless there are some miracles, bitcoin won't stand a chance of going sky high in only the first month of 2017.

By the end of February reaching $2000 is hardly impossible. Over the years to come this might increase, during the ongoing continued increase price might touch the maximum of $1500 and won't exceed that.

I think bitcoin price could reach the $1500 milestone if the uptrend continues but I don't think it will double in just 1 month. However that is not impossible so trust your feelings and just go for it. ;)

Happy New Year to the OP as well. It is really surprising for me that btc is already $1k again. We've waited for quite a long time for it to get there. As for $2000 price in a month from now - that won't happen, I guess. It just never did. There will be time of btc dropping to something around $600 in April or so, I think. In February it should be around $1100 at most.

Well, I think 2017 is a good year for bitcoin. Especially blockchain technology. The price flying high when it touch $1000.
And now all of the bitcoiners is hoping that will keep going higher, as you say $2000. But honestly, most of trader who trade bitcoin everyday in the exchangers is really make a wish that price will be drop and bouncing.
Everyone is dream to buy something expensive as much as they can when the price is cheap.

2000 usd it is a really big price , in august 2015 the price of bitcoin was about 600 usd and it took half an year to reach 1000 usd , so it is pretty hard to double its price in 1 month , but it is possible

2000$ by the end of Feb 2017 , i think after seeing last few months price increase in bitcoin made you think about it, but i dont think it will go the max if we can see is 1250 to 1400 usd because next week we can see some selling pressure as now everyone will try to cash out the profit and little bit of price going down then the all weak hands will just dump it and that may give you crash in the bitcoin price.

Maybe too soon. Historically, the price dips in january so it might be lower than 1000$. I do not expect it too reach more than 1100. Maybe next year we can reach that price but for now, let us enjoy the 1000$ price range. Happy new year too OP.

Firstly have this topic moved to speculation board. Coming to your question you are expecting a 1000$ jump. I don't see it happening, as there are no signs that says it will shoot so fast. Long term year end why not. Until some major event happens then you never know. Post Jan 20 when trump takes office will be interesting to see his policies that can affect global. Markets and increase prices.

I am not really sure because the price did not heat $1000+ by the end of the year, and in the initial year, I do not think the price will be higher. so probably the price will be around $800-$950 on february. but if it hits more than $950, it will be better.

Bitcoin market is too stable and too large for so fast price change in short time. BTC can hit 1100 USD maximum till february. 2000 USD is too high price for Bitcoin at the current time.

Make it realistic, can we?  It is obvious that January starts with  a bullish Bitcoin but, saying Bitcoin will surge and be $2000 this February is a wishful thinking.  In a span of a year maybe, but in this short span of time, sorry but I think it is next to impossible.  It would be real if you say Bitcoin will reach $1100, even $1200 on February is a bit vague because am sure there is a big possibility that people will be cashing out at $1100 and it may affect the bullish stance of bitcoin.

I think it will not happen. Well, it happened very fast rise, and I think it can also cause a dump very high, so as to make bitcoin prices fell below $ 1,000. Well, now, the bitcoin price stability is very important, because I think this is a suitable price for bitcoin this year.

i always be prepare to the worst situations if bitcoin price dropped someday indeed in the beginning of 2017 the price was already reach to $1000 and we must wait over than 1 year to see this price again however i don't think bitcoin price will pretty fast to reach $2000 only than a month so my predictions the higher price of February maybe still $1100-$1200 or might be below from those price

Since we are back once again to the 4 digits im very happy, and this time there wont be a bubble into bitcoin to make it grow too fast and get dumped more faster, this time the value of bitcoin looks solid, even if it get back to the 900 dollars, we know that we will stand at the 4 digits, the sucess has been achieved once again, i werent expect bitcoin soo high this year, but 2000 dollars its out of question. If the projects that are being made get ready this year we will see a huge demand for bitcoin for sure, but lets see how the projects will get live.

First of all, everything could happen these days. Bitcoin hit $1000 is honestly a surprise for me, because I didn't expect this will happen before. Well, before the halvening I thought that Bitcoin would hit $1000 but then my mind changed right after the halvening, cuz Bitocin didn't even hit $1000 that time. But suddenly after a bit while I'm not monitoring the price, it suddenly hit $1000.
The point is, I think Bitocin could hit $2000 this year. I don't really sure when but I'm sure it could happen this year, like I said before "everything could happen".

2000 USD for February is not possible by a realistic prognosis. However if bitcoins goes to 2000 USD in price in the end of this year 2017 I would be happy and this can really happen.

No, I don't think so. What we're living is already pretty awesome, but reaching 2000$ per Bitcoin would be basically unbelievable, because impossible.

Even if we say that theres nothing impossible to bitcoin but im am very very sure that we cant able to reach that price on next month of February its really too high to consider and we should really be more realistic regarding on our speculations on the price.Even we reach already the $1k price it cant continue to rose its price further more on a short period of time.

Unless something big happens in January we should not expect a rise that abrupt in such a short time frame, just look at how long it took bitcoin to recover after the last bubble and reach this price again.

No, in my point of view is difficult for bitcoin to continue its skyrocket way. I believe that now is time for a serious correction. Have passed about 8 years from genesis block and nowadays bitcoin is mature enough to have a more stable behavior. We must not forget bitcoin is mainly a currency and secondly an asset. A very expensive currency would not be selected by masses worldwide.

How about some Bitcoin downtrend in February?  Bitcoin price increase is kinda huge this past month.  Seems the price is rushed to $1000.  I think after half of this January, Bullish bitcoin will be exhausted and we can see some downtrend in the late January.  People would cash out and sell their bitcoin and making Bitcoin Price down to sub $1000 again.  Correction need to take place or it would be disaster for the new investor if this bubble burst.

Crash would likely to happen and we should be ready on that and we should not think too much on doubling its price in a matter of 1 month only.Its just an insane thing to consider on bitcoins price.It may reach $2k price point but it would take time maybe on this year or 2018.Who knows and no one could able to predict on when it will happen.

My question how that can happen bitcoin prices just back touched $ 1,000, i guess we should realistically not possible price increase of 100% in only less than a month, I think back when the price touched $ 1,000 is the toughest phase of bitcoin.

With Bitcoin you can expect everything ! , Today Bitcoin Reach more than 1000 USD , and this is the first time ever . the problem is the volatility of price of Bitcoin , you can't imagine what's will be for tommorow or for the next month  , it can be over 2000  USD or it can be 600 USD .
in my opinion it's really impossible to reach 2000 USD next month  ! but we hope to grow up !

Any factors that have just happened in February 2017 to make the price rise? Probably just the fact that it's the new year. Now if you're asking if there are factors that contribute to it's rise in price over the past few months, there is a laundry list of factors.

I would sell @9500k but I doubt this will ever happen. I would be happy if we hover @1000 for a month or two now so things can stabilize. But I expect a crash to 800 pretty soon.

$800, some predict that it will crash harder, but I think bitcoin bullish activity will still remain, so I guess it will get higher in price before ti stabilizes at around $950 - $1020.  But any increase in price is great it would be better if it actually hit $2000 on February.  It is probably impossible but Bitcoin is Bitcoin :)

My imminent reason why I consider the rise in price in subsequent months are these:
1. Increase in pubicity results in increase in the demand and supply of bitcoin which influence the hike
2. Trump presidential role that could restrict/reduce trade with dollar with Asian world, making bitcoin an alternative
3. Increase in the number of altcoins crowdfund that is actively engaging bitcoin
4. More of countries' adoption policies and researches

2000 dollars I do not think so it will take more than a leap of faith to get there but with different circumstances happening around the world it does work in favour of bitcoins, so I expect the price to flirt around $1000-$1100 till february.

I am wishing the same thing too but realistically it might not happen if we have to base with the already immense growth it experienced towards the end of the year 2016. The most realistic prediction is that of Bitcoin reaching as high as $2000 towards the last quarter of 2017. However, if in case your wish can come true then we can all be happy with that.

And I prefer a slow but constant rise than spikes and high volatility.

That's what I keep telling everyone. We don't want another bubble like 2013 that gets hyped out of control, only setting it self up to crash. I would rather see a healthy slow climb like we've seen the past two years.

Unfortunately, it happens. Maybe we've learned our lesson after that happened in 2013 with the price. Now it's time for the price to just keep going up! Because of the crisis growing up all around us, I think this time the price increase will be permanent until it's going to be over. Look around you and you'll see 2008 building up on a bigger scale. The prices will skyrocket in months, you'll see! Except that, the halving is going to affect the price positively too. Investors need new rigs, so they need more money to mine, so yeah.. we're going to have a great challenge here.

The price of the coin cannot be predicted ,if i had the basic information on how the prices flows rather than looking at the chart and understand why those spike occurred no one can predict what the price will be by feb,i do think that the price would stabilize before reaching those values.

The rate at which the bitcoin is increasing in value on daily basis is weird. It could get close to that figure though.

But now a days it is trading in very narrow range, which is usually symptoms for another good rally. Yes, that another rally might take bitcoin prices into $2000 zones too. But I doubt for this to happen in just 2 months of time.

the bitcoin price remains almost calm on $1000 and it looks like it is quite not moving but despite that we still have more days to come before February 2017 although we don't know what will be the price of bitcoin on that month or If bitcoin will ever hit that price it is still possible that bitcoin will be crossing $2000 if ever there will be a big increase to its market cap .

I'm surprised it's been so calm since it broke $1000. This could be a very good thing. It's not shooting up to $1500 like some people wanted for short term gains, but it's exactly what I wanted to happen. It may mean that the price of btc will continue to slowly and healthily rise as it has been the past two years. A very good thing for bitcoin.

The relative calm is probably related to the holiday season. In many countries of the western world there is much less activity until January 6, many people dedicating more time to their families. Another reason are obviously profit taking before the "battle for a new ATH" can begin.

So my guess is that in a few days we will see again turbulences in the bitcoin price. It's very probable that we will see a first intent from bulls to break the ATH until January 10-15. It may stall at $1100-1200, but I think it will be broken at most in February. Then we will probably see a hype cycle followed by a crash.

People interested into the fiat profit they can get from it are useless and even worse. They're creating a speculation bubble around btc and that's not.something we should be looking for!

Lol, Even I think people are too greedy have a huge as soon as possible. However, we have reached double the value rate now due to halving effect and christmas pump. I think price will drop at least around 50$ to 100$ again then it will get pump to more value than now.

I think it is an unpredictable question because 1000$ is possible because it passed away 1200$ mark in the year 2012.But coming to the 2000$ mark i hope it is difficult to reach, because even through bitcoin trading sector is increasing but pumping the bitcoin will not work always. I don't think we will see $2000 anytime soon but it may in the mid or end of the year.
Why? Look at the current price and fluctuate trending. People can't hold their self to sell and get some profits.

The Bitcoin price fall started maybe it is panic sell or pro are manipulating the market but price has significantly doped in less than an our so it will be very soon to say that Bitcoin can reach $2000 by this February but as we know it is Bitcoin so anything may happen.

I have every reason to believe that anyone who has the premonition of $2000 by February, and has decided to invest in BItcoin, with whatwe have seen today, that person will definitely have a re-think. For some time this few days when i saw Bitcoin price going up so fast i though of it hitting 2000 USD but sadly just today it goes down very fast and the thought of 2000USD is gone. But i still believed in Bitcoin that even if it doesnt hit 2000$ as long as it's 900$ - 1000$ USD it is ok with me, i already profited from that price range.

I agree the $2000 per BTC on Feb is not impossible but rather harder to obtain.  It could have been as easy as saying Bitcoin Value to reach a certain price if reality does not exist.  At this moment we have seen dip of Bitcoin from more than $1100 to sub $900, and now at sub $1000.  How can we attain a $1000 increase in price in one month if even another $100 increase in price from $1100 has yet to be attained?  We should not factor out people that are cashing out to book their profit that will hinder Bitcoin price increase.

For now since the price was drop below $1k value i think it is impossible that the price will increase or hit this coming months or february..

I don't believe it's possible. bitcoin shows fast temps of grow this days. But I doubt that it will rise to 2000$ by the end of the month. I think with such good price around 1000$ bitcoin is going to jump around that point for some period. Same like it was on September with the point of 600$ when bitcoin seemed frozen on this position (little +, little -) for a month.

BTC started to fall quite a bit today, although it seems like it should return gains after awhile... Despite market misconception the economy is still increasing, but losses can be expected for the short term as mentioned in the above analysis.

The fact 1 bitcoin is expensive does not affect the usability of the coin, there are 100 dollar bills and people don't complain about them if you need to buy something for a dollar then you use a dollar bill, it’s that simple, if you want to buy something cheap then you use a few mBTC.

With the current situation, and if it continues to be like this for atleast 2 weeks, I guess we won't, since it will result to just to restarting to strengthen its stand to make a new price rally, so by that, we might really see a boring price movement again, with almost no big spike that could happen in a month. It was a boring price movement that has gotten us to this point over the past two years, not a price surge which caused the opposite to happen in 2013, and just again though not as worse yesterday. In my opinion, slow and boring is healthy. I suppose if you're in it just for making money by trading or buying/selling however, surges are nice.

I too, I love the way how the price grow slowly after the hack and drama last year, that was really healthy, compared to a price surge which has no foundation and drops like a stone from above.

With what happened yesterday, many are expecting it since it is not an extra ordinary event. Maybe that's the reason why it didn't drop too much.

Yeah. It is definitely not. Just a hype speculation. It tooks approximate 5 years for bitcoin to reach its current price and some are speculating double it in one month because of recently price pump occur. Common guys, don't be so hype. Price pump/dump is always happening dont expect too much

I don't think so . The new floor will be 600$-650$. China had a strong decision to prevent bitcoin users with private rules.

BTC I think will not hit 2000 USD by february 2017. In my opinion it's price might fall down and it almost seems like when bitcoin hit the all time high. The only difference today is that bitcoin did not reach it's new all time high. It might also be other wise or it might pump and dump to 900$-1100$ range of price for now but I think its not the new low floor. We will see the new low floor after the dumps and pumps that will happen.

It looks really impossible that the price will hit 2000 USD in just a short time period unless it would sudden increased just like what happened before the year 2016 end when the price is getting higher pretty quick and same as what happened before and during the first few days of the new year for sure that it will suddenly drop again .

I don't know why the hurry! I personally prefer a slower but consistent increase rather than this volatile moves. I would like to see that new record high at the end of this year, but I will also be happy if the price remains at this current level for a couple of years to see a more mature an stable bitcoin behavior.

we saw a 400% rise over the past two years!
the december 2016-january 2017 pump was a pure speculation bubble with no major events to have caused the rise

Bitcoin is not short term investment, it should not be like all other shit coins launching daily pumping and dumping. Every bitcoin lovers wants steady growth in bitcoin, no need of any sudden movements to hit 2000$, 5000$ like that next it will reach to 250$. Again people will start speculating bitcoin is going die very soon. We need long term growth so that many people will come trade bitcoins on daily basis. When the supply of coins is less and bitcoin community is more means definitely price will be healthy always.

Why no reasons. When bitcoin matching gold prices at $1250, I believe bitcoin will start attracting world wide investors due to the free promotions it will get from media.

That would be more than enough for bitcoin prices to reach any levels within this year. I guess, most probably we might be seeing $5000 levels if bitcoin etf get approved. Lets hold and watch how our profits get accumulating.

At this point of time a $5000 Bitcoin is quite and exaggeration in my opinion.  I do not say Bitcoin won't get there but it is still early, Bitcoin have difficulty breaking $1300 this past week, so I guess it is better to be realistic sometimes :), we all love to see Bitcoin at $5000, but let us see first if it can break $2000 this year.  It is a no for $2000 this February.

Well, this is likely to persist until March, but if this increase continues to occur may be the price of $ 2000 will be achieved by mid-year.

We are hitting $1,200 again right now by bitfinex prices, pushing throught $1,200 again should be easy, it's time to destroy the annoying all time high from the Mt Gox era, so we will see what happens, i can't stand the $1,250 ATH from MtGox, we must beat it on every other exchange to move on.

No one could really predict the exact date and it was too childish to expect a rate of above $2000 by February. If we see an instant price increase like that expect massive selling and the price would dip really bad.I expect that the recent increase is because of the expectation that the ETF would be approved and hope we will see a correction if  it is not approved now.

Well it looks like this prediction didn't go to the right place. It didn't made to $2,000 for this month (Feb. 17) but I'm hoping it can happen for this year.

Nowadays is 1^st march it means bitcoin passed February without touching 2000 dollars in price. Now the current price is about more than 1200 dollars. But in my point of view this number is very good achievements for bitcoin.

Even though this thread is old I would like to remind you thag we reached march now and the price is at 1200$ ,so unfortunately there isn't 2000$ but I actually think the current price is also good and if it grows like this itself maybe by August we can easily expect a 2000$ price mark.

Something could make or break this easily. If nothing big happens then 2k is definitely possible in the next few months but if something bad like another exchange hacked or something of the sort price can easily tank back below 1000 temporarily. Time will tell, chances are price will continue rising to 2000.

I agree, I think how soon Bitcoin to be $2000 USD depend on the ETF for now.  If it is approved then Bitcoin price will soar and eventually hit $2000 USD before the end of this semester. Else, it will be having a hard time reaching that price even after 2017.

If the ETF will be approved, I think that price will rise way higher than $2000. The flood of capital flowing from Wall Street will be the start of a never-ending bullish run.

I think Bitcoin will hit $2000 next year or next 6 months. That's my speculation about the $2000 price per bitcoin. Because I notice yearly the price is increasing rapidly so I'm expecting next year or 6 months only the bitcoin price will be $2000+ up.

Bitcoin is always anonymous in the value and for the people. Price is seems be so fluctuating last year but this we see that steady growth in the value. Its been increased from the Christmas to now, It passed own peak value in this February and in recent days. Expecting bitcoin to reach 2000$ before this year and my holded amount can be convertable to big amount when we see the price comparison.

I do not think that it will take year to reach to $2000 but the price is increasing faster and it will take a few months to reach to that much price. I am sure that till the month of June or July the price of bitcoin will be reached to $2000 or more.

Everything is depended on March 11 decision of ETF inclusion of bitcoin as or no. If it got yes then we can see the price of $2000 in march ending itself if not we can see small selling in the market as next decision will be on march 29
