the possibility of no effect because bitcoin is not ad continued government regulation also has not formally recognize adnya bitcoin as a means of payment, so the price fluctuations do not affect the bitcoin economy

What? No, not at all!
We got barely a few millions of OCCASIONAL bitcoin users! Whatever happens to bitcoin it can't influence the world on a global scale!
Especially not on basic commodities man, do you ever buy your food with bitcoin?

Bitcoin price has no influence on the world economy presently, there is no state with keen interest or whose economy is directly tied to Bitcoin price. Even if you look at the numbers of people holding bitcoin I doubt is upto 2 million out of more than 6 billion people in the world

No effect at all. Bitcoin is not yet recognized in most countries although they or some knew the existence of Bitcoin but accepting Bitcoin as a crypto currency is not yet accomplished. That being said, regardless of the current BTC price against the Dollar, BTC still have no significant effect in the world economy. Maybe not until Bitcoin reached the status that it is widely accepted all over the world.

A crypto currencies that has market capitalization above 16,000,000,000usd has it own effect on the Economics of many nations especially the third world countries. South African and some Asian countries are used bitcoin as a mode of transactions daily. Many people currently are being employed and pay in crypto currencies. Exchange rate to dollar in some country has improved including usa. This are sign that very soon bitcoin will be legalized in most third world countries and with will terminate inequality in their systems.

Nope i don't think so. Not yet anyways. It's not yet in the same level as that of gold or oil or other necessities and i think it's still going to take quite some time before it does if it even does. Though it may if the prive of bitcoin really surges up but i think that would be very minimal and neglectable at best

Bitcoins price will not affect the price of good and commodities. For example a box of potato costs 10$ then even if the price of bitcoin increases or decreases the price of potato will still be at 10$ and so if you pay in bitcoin you will pay 10$ worth of bitcoin. So its a simple logic bitcoins price cannot affect  the price of commodities except for alternative coins in the cryptocurrency economy.

well no and the reason is too simple. bitcoin is too small to have any influence on world economy. you can check out other commodity markets (not that i agree calling bitcoin commodity) and look at the volume they have and the prices or the market cap.
then you realize bitcoin is too small in this world.
maybe in the future though, when it becomes bigger and more adopted.

maybe bitcoin prices can make affect with the world economy if many country is using bitcoin and approved for people to using bitcoin and if there is much of product is selling in offline store and online store. like when bitcoin prices reach $1100, many newspaper in online or offline makes an article that said another investment is born and people can make the investment with bitcoin and etc.

i think the price of basic commodities is different with bitcoin prices and only depend with supply and demand from the country and if the demand is too high depend the supply then i am sure that the price will be increase. but bitcoin is depend from the bitcoin user in all of the world, people with much of bitcoin easily play in the market and make dump and pump in the price.

We are not at this level yet. Bitcoin is too small to have any kind of impact on global economy. Bitcoin in current state can be called experimental sidetrack of official economy.
And for most people it is a road to nowhere as they expect that authorities will tone bitcoin down by imposing heavy restrictions i.e. forcing people to abandon concept of decentralized cryptocurrency.

Also, most fiat payment processor companies have market cap at least 10x higher that bitcoin ever reached - last time I checked PayPal market cap was around $150 billion.

So-called market capitalization of 16B dollars says nothing by itself

If most of the coins that make up this value are stashed away, they are basically out of equation completely. It is the coins that are actively traded and yet more the coins that are actually used in the real economy as a means of payment that matter in the end. So it is obviously not the price alone but rather the quantity of coins actively participating in the economic turnover multiplied by the price (real market cap) that could potentially impact the world economy. But this impact has been negligible so far

$16 Bn is a pittance. Oracle has a market capitalization of $160+Bn, which is 10 times that of Bitcoin. Do you think Oracle has an impact on the South African economy? Price, by itself, is irrelevant.

The  January  btc price peak of $1160 is gone.A possible bitcoin price increase will probably make bitcoin more popular in the news and more newbies might join the  btc community.
This is the only btc price influence i can figure out.
I think that the USD will go up ,so the basic commodities will will become cheaper.

Since bitcoin standing alone, there's no affect to any economic aspects, except to be a better, like Greece before and Venezuela recently, bitcoin is the solutions for their economic to be better. But I think it's just an alternative and temporary.

We are not at this level yet. Bitcoin is too small to have any kind of impact on global economy. Bitcoin in current state can be called experimental sidetrack of official economy.

We are not and we are never, since bitcoin designed as just alternative currency and the government will never used bitcoin.

bitcoin is a part from world economic and but only small part of that because i think bitcoin users even not reach 10% from total populations of people in the world so even bitcoin price down or rise up i think it wouldn't have big influence for world economy and i says just like this because when the price below $200 several years ago but world economy doesn't collapse

If users of bitcoin exceeds more than 60% of the worlds population in the future it might influence the world economy and if it ain't it will not affect the world economy at all since bitcoin needs users for it to influence the economy of the world. If it is only a little percent of the world's population that will be affected by bitcoin, it wont influence the world economy since only a few will care about the ups and downs of bitcoin's price.

It may have an effect or influence to a single persona but in a world wide scale, it has little to no effect.  First, the bitcoin base user is too tiny to make an impact to the world economy.  Second, has been discussed by deisik.

There is too little usage of Bitcoin in real market. and most are either kept or used in trading, that does not actually flow thru payments for commodities.

Apple is valued well over 600B dollars by the stock markets

But even this value is nothing more than pure speculation. Could we use this value to gauge the effect that Apple has on the US economy (and the economies of countries where Apple's plants are located)? I guess this would be an exercise in futility mostly. Obviously, we should judge by the amount of goods it produces and profits it earns, how many people work in this company, and similar things connected to real economy and not so much with unstable and wavy financial markets

precisely your opinion, because there is no recognition of many countries bitcopin as an official means of payment, keep prices stable bitcopin yet sometimes up high in no time and then immediately fell sharply
if it happens, and no effect on the economy then all would be chaos in the market price, which is based on the value of bitcoin

I would disagree with you on Apple market cap. The market cap is mostly based on the annual revenues (their net income was US$45.687 billion in 2015), rather than speculation. A part of the value may be due to speculation, but the proportion is lower when compared to some other stocks, such as Tesla Motors Inc and DexCom.

It is not just a part of its value, it is actually most of its value which is based on pure speculation. Some companies might have higher P/E ratios (ratio of a company's share price to its annual earnings per share), but that just means that their shares have more speculative component in the price of the share. Apple's P/E ratio as of yesterday (https://ycharts.com/companies/AAPL/pe_ratio) (January 13, 2017) was 14.36. This value basically means that you would need over 14 years just to break even with Apple's shares...

Now good luck to you trying to persuade anyone about how little speculative value is in that figure

I will say the price of bitcoin is yet to have enough impact to have influence the world economy. Because looking at the number of bitcoins we have in circulation, which is a little above 16 million as reports have stated, and also some people will have as much as 10btc or more meaning that the spread is not still enough to make the move that can change the world economy and that I guess is the major reason why countries are still shying away from having a real discussion in that area...

Maybe doesn't influence directly but all big financial players are aware of bitcoin's presence so they now they have to change the rules of the game they were playing before bitcoin came to the scene and that could be benefit for all of us. If bitcoin addoption reaches realy high levels that could influence the world economy seriously.

The price of btc was like a few dollars and then suddenly became a few hundred dollars. Did anything happen due to this to the world economy? I don't think so. I suppose now bitcoin is not really influencing anything much but it will when more people will use btc, especially if they are to use it instead of local currencies or even USD and Euro. Even if they don't use it but just keep their money in btc - this might have an impact.

possible bitcoin prices affect the world economy?
Price of bitcoin is nothing but an indication of how much popularity currently bitcoin has gained. In other words, more the bitcoin value, more the influence bitcoin will be having on world economy.

Already bitcoin is impacting in many businesses like PayPal/western union / digital markets which might be leading into influencing economic of some countries indirectly due to loss of revenue and proportional taxes they need to pay. Still, influence will be negligible but we can expect more when bitcoin will be having mainstream of adoption along with huge price levels.

Maybe there's a change of economic movement when the things might happen soon ,if the world will now using bitcoins as means of everything then theres the possibility that its influence really affect the world economy.Change might happen in terms of paying taxes and everything evolves around the world. There are lots of possibilities that bicoin will continue to rise high in the world market.

Government would not support bitcoin. They won't not encourage people to invest in bitcoin and use it as means of payment because they can't get tax from it. Sooner, it'll influence community because of its platform. Making it more popular to be used as means of payment.

I think government and other people are still afraid about bitcoin because of the movement of the price unlike other payment processor..
The price of bitcoin is increasingly fast. and government will still not allowed bitcoin because of this..
Look at some other payment methods like paymaya cashless that you can also use without credit  its a vcc that you can deposit like here in my country
they are the same as e-money like bitcoin but paymaya still much trustable than bitcoin because many illegal activity happen with bitcoin..

There are at the moment about 7.5 billion people on the world.
The market capitalization of bitcoin right now is at about 13 billion dollars.
That would mean in average everybody has about 1.5 dollars in bitcoin.
To me that does not sound to be a big number in the world economy.

Bitcoin price doesn't affected by price of basic commodities, it's simply affected by global trading volume.
Basically, price of basic commodities will rises if supply limited but demand keep increase and depend on government regulations.
The only thing that matter with world economics is the high price of bitcoin compare to goods prices which you could purchase more than only use fiat money. If more merchants start to accept bitcoin payment, that would be great for our economy.

I absolutely disagree and I am fairly confident that bitcoin affects world economy. The most of the members answered they wrote about the price and market capitalization etc.  But it is beyond the price and concerns the way people transact each other. Till now most countries except cards and web banking use paper money as cash. But recently we see a turn to paperless digital economy from some strong economies. All of these try to explore and experiment with blockchain and their implementations of coins. Could anyone thinks that these sudden movements and conversations were made by chance? No banks became aware of  bitcoin's capabilities its increased popularity, they observed that is flexible and they understood that is time to do something before train leave for ever.

Bitcoin is usually affected by the world economy. As you can see, the more volatile the economy is, the more Bitcoin prices increase. However, in the future, we all expect that Bitcoin will have some important effect on the world ecosystem since right now more and more people start consider it as a type of currency.

When everything is getting dumped means alternate investment will be getting pumped. When economic situation of one country seems unstable it will happen.
I guess for bitcoin to influence this world, we do not need  to depend on an instability of one particular country, instead of just having mass adoption of bitcoins will be more than enough.

It is already happening means bitcoins already start influencing the world economic and influencing daily life of a human.

I'm afraid that we have yet to see anything of substance coming from the alleged flirting of banks and governments with the blockchain technology. Really, Bitcoin (and the blockchain) has been around for over 7 years already. Does it take 7 years to get understanding of how Bitcoin works and whether it is suitable for them at all? I think 7 years is more than enough to show something working to the general public. But we are nowhere near that...

What we have seen and heard so far are just empty talks and unconfirmed rumors

What? No, not at all!
We got barely a few millions of OCCASIONAL bitcoin users! Whatever happens to bitcoin it can't influence the world on a global scale!
Especially not on basic commodities man, do you ever buy your food with bitcoin?

ok, good opinion I like it, it is true I have never bought a staple using bitcoin, because there is no relation between bitcoin and the economy affect each other

Bitcoin price has no influence on the world economy presently, there is no state with keen interest or whose economy is directly tied to Bitcoin price. Even if you look at the numbers of people holding bitcoin I doubt is upto 2 million out of more than 6 billion people in the world

then the number of the number it holds bitcoin world very little if dilhat of numbers that you love to know earlier means the ratio is 1: 3
one for bitcoin users and nonusers were 3 for bitcoin

bitcoins already start influencing the world economic and influencing daily life of a human.
It is true as the definition of influencing world economy does not need to be part of a country's policies. Just starting from a common man's life style influencing will be more than enough to consider the impact of bitcoin in the world economy.

When mainstream adoption of bitcoin will be happening, I guess more influences we are going to experience. I am too eagerly awaiting for more of these experiences.

Not at the current state. Bitcoin has a market cap of 13 billion $. The daily transaction volume is between $200-500 million a day. This is not much compared to many many national currencies of even some countries. For that reason, I do not think Bitcoin can incfluence the world economy at the moment.

Still those $200 to $500 millions are too big to consider the influences bitcoin is creating by replacing fiats.
I mean if all those transactions will be happening within one country or with one type of business then surely we will be agreeing about the dominance of bitcoin's on one particular sector.

Unfortunately even bitcoin has all the power, it was scattered across different measurements making us unable to realize how much it is actually influencing on world economy.

yes that is a good analysis, i also think that currency bitcoin cannot change the world economy at all, but in future when the users of bitcoin will increase then we can expect that it will certainly bring some changes in the world economy, and we can hope that it will bring a positive change to the world economy.

As of now bitcoin isn't even recognized as a currency by most countries so it has no effect on the world economy, Might happen if the massive adoption becomes real and the goverments recognize it but it will be really difficult as banks and goverments are very wary of it and it can pose as a threat to them cause it allows people to manage their own banks and can be used to illegal activities .

You might wanna check the documentary bitcoin the end of money as we know it . It explains bitcoin and its possibilities .

UP to now, I have not seen any obvious effect of Bitcoin to the world economy yet. However, according to what experts say, I believe that it will play an important role in the future. As you can see, Bitcoin has been used by million of people and there are many of them use Bitcoin as a type of currency in trading. The more they use Bitcoin, the more affect Bitcoin to the world economy

There is a possibility to that and its even making it happen now to the extent that in few years to come it might even threaten the world economic order and that is why governments that are hostile or discouraging its citizen to use the  digital currency are trying every means to kill it because they have for seen that if this trend is going unchecked then we might have ourselves to blame. From the loss of revenue to the loss of control of the populace if they are able to control their own finance among other things that might happen.

How could it possibly threaten the "world economic order"?

At max, it could threaten the stability of weak currencies like the Venezuelan Bolivar and the governments of these countries, but like I said it elsewhere, this "disadvantage" will get without doubt used by stronger governments (like the US, for example) for their own purposes, often nefarious. For example, that would make a perfect case for overthrowing existing governments very much along the lines of what happened during the so-called Arab Spring purportedly initiated by Washington, DC. No one knows exactly who is behind Bitcoin, so don't get surprised if it was conceived somewhere in Langley

maybe bitcoin prices can make affect with the world economy if many country is using bitcoin and approved for people to using bitcoin and if there is much of product is selling in offline store and online store. like when bitcoin prices reach $1100, many newspaper in online or offline makes an article that said another investment is born and people can make the investment with bitcoin and etc.

i think the price of basic commodities is different with bitcoin prices and only depend with supply and demand from the country and if the demand is too high depend the supply then i am sure that the price will be increase. but bitcoin is depend from the bitcoin user in all of the world, people with much of bitcoin easily play in the market and make dump and pump in the price.

thanks simple and clear in essence this may help for the newbie to understand the effects of bitcoin, bitcoin turns out that there is no correlation between the bitcoin economy rises with the price of staple {}
when there is also just a little

For me it cant affect the world economy even Bitcoin price will go up again because they are some countries and people that they consider Bitcoin is illegal. And Bitcoin is not accepted in famous bank.

hopefully the assumption it could quickly disappear, and hopes acceptable bitcoin many countries as a means of payment is authorized, so users bitcoin will increase the population, if it happens it will be a big change for the consumer

This are sign that very soon bitcoin will be legalized in most third world countries and with will terminate inequality in their systems.

thank you for your opinion, but no one I do not understand the term third country like you mean, the truth is you are looking for a third country that you please explain?

perhaps anyone want to add about the sense of the term third country in question?

Bitcoins price will not affect the price of good and commodities. For example a box of potato costs 10$ then even if the price of bitcoin increases or decreases the price of potato will still be at 10$ and so if you pay in bitcoin you will pay 10$ worth of bitcoin. So its a simple logic bitcoins price cannot affect  the price of commodities except for alternative coins in the cryptocurrency economy.

so you mean is that bitcoin is no efectnya the real economy} {price of basic goods but is more closely linked to the price of such alternative coin bitcoin prices fall then alternative coin prices will rise, and vice versa, so now I am even more clearly thanks for your opinion

Too early to say yes but also we can't say no due to the blockchain technology and bitcoin act as better alternative payment and had hundreds of thousands of users if I guess. It will be has an effect to the world economy, at least as a better financial transaction worldwide. We don't know for sure and still waiting where the market heading to, and contribution from the devs and users.

Only if it's adopted as payment method by using service kind of bitpay or coinbase to make payment it's fine, but storing the government's wealth onto this form, it's a big NO, it could threaten through its fluctuative and volatility indeed, in some way we want to implement bitcoin but just in category which we consider will give us benefits and no for the rest

From using debit card or credit card to transact online, bitcoin has just paved the way for faster transactions between buyers and merchants using the internet. Bitcoin has now become a multi-billion market and even the stocks exchange is now looking to include bitcoin in the list to be included in the portfolios.

It depends on the country, because Bitcoin becomes more and more connected to the economy of some countries. There are places where inflation is very high, and governments put many impositions on the currencies of these countries. I think in these places Bitcoin has a great chance of expanding.

Personally, I don't think it makes any sense

The point is obviously about countries which have high level of inflation (like Zimbabwe had before this country fully switched to using the US dollar as official currency), and Bitcoin could allegedly help the citizens of this country fight inflation by converting their savings in local currency (which is quickly depreciating) to Bitcoin. The main problem with this approach is that the population of these countries is extremely poor for the most part, and they have basically nothing to convert to bitcoins (living paycheck to paycheck). So I don't think that Bitcoin can be of great help to all these poor men

It influenced the world economy since it is a multi billion coin that is now used by big investors and many online transaction. It was created and designed to be used by every people in banking online, and making a transaction online. Hence, once its market go down, it'll make a huge impact specially for a huge investors, making an impact in world economy.

Not yet. I think bitxoin is not yet established in the world markets and it has to be absorbed by governments and big corporations for the price movement to affect world economy by the very least. Though i thinks it's already under the government's radars and we'll just be waiting a couple of more years before this happens. Though I don't think this amount has any impact on the world economy at large. If two individuals were incessantly selling to each other the same single bitcoin all day long, would the resulting volume have any meaning? I guess that it wouldn't. Just a small bunch of people (on the world scale) is doing basically the same, i.e. exchanging fiat and bitcoins to and fro. If this volume was coming from real economy, i.e. from bitcoins being used to pay for real goods and services, then it would matter. Otherwise, this is no more than a figure which can be however high without really changing anything

We can not run away from the fact that Bitcoin has a big influence on the world economy. Even though it is not officially recognized, the amount that is being traded is so huge that we cannot right it off. Imagine people exchanging bitcoin for fiat, don't you think this can influence other currencies? Just my thought
if you compared to a giant currency like US dollar which have been exist for over 200 years then bitcoin will have really small impact to the world economy. there is an effect of course i believe but not sure in which sector exactly.

bitcoin even still in doubt in the eyes of those around you.

There is no doubt about this that bitcoin is influencing the world economy in different ways. Bitcoin is providing opportunities to people to earn money using different legal ways, we can say that bitcoin is increasing per capital income, which will certainly influence the economy of the world.
Although bitcoin is in its early stage, hope it will make the world more prosperous as time pass.

I dont think so. As youve said, bitcoin is still at an early stage and i think the price rate is not enough for bitcoin to affect the economy at all. It may be in the future that bitcoin will be able to do so but today, no i dont think enough people are using it or aware of it to have an effect in the market.

Bitcoin with such market cap can not influence the world economy, as well as it has some legal issues in some countries, I think its situation now is better than 2014 and in 2020 its situation should be better than now.

I agree bitcoin price will not influence world economy. What influence the economy is its technology.  Blockhain had been popular and get the attention of finance system to adopt or create the same system of blockchain but of centralized one.   Even if the market cap balloon to hundred times, it will never affect the world economy because the money involved in there were not used to buy stuff and then get to circulate in the economy.  It is all trapped in the exchange.
It is true that the bitcoin market is stuck on the exchange so nothing is lost, but as the bitcoin becomes more and more popular and used by more people they will be using it in their everyday lives including market which may eventually affect the economy, I think that china since it has the largest share of mining power it may become very strong economy when the bitcoin become an international currency.

The whole fiat system us nothing to do with bitcoin and the world economy too. So theres no affect in bitcoin that two. So if the bitcoin will pump massively of course nithing will change about world economy because bitcoin and the whole cryptosystem is independent they are relaying un the people or the users of it the only one thing to bitcoin will be dead is no onw will use bitcoin for theur daily lives which is impossible. So for bitcoin is the number one I think independent money.

What is pupils, I believe you are using a mobile to post that's why you have no spell checker right? note that bitcoin should never have any influence when talking about the big pictures here, what matters bitcoin has a significant effect on individuals and their lives and has the potential to do impact in a positive way on millions though not with current block size.

In several countries tax evasion is considered a major issue, possibly just because of it bitcoin is not regulated into countries with legal authorization. Sure we can expect a good economics change in respect to time when most countries accept bitcoin.

bitcoin is already regulated in several countries which i conclude as a developed countries such as israel and USA, you can read the news about this matter but considered as digital assets instead of digital currency
and that's right that tax evasion is a major issue amongst many countries, they're struggling fighting those who didn't paid the taxes

I dont think so. Those who invest in gold, oil and copper are those who wants something that they can see clearly. The possibility of them turning into bitcoin is really low. They will stick with the legal way for they dont want any problems in the future.  If they do turn into bitcoin I am sure they will not leave their investments in other commodities. It will only affect other commodities if they do surrender it.

this is what I wait, I think now is bitcoin it had not affected the economy in a country, because bitcoin is officially not many other countries that recognize bitcoin as a currency, I'm sure someday it will definitely affect or in other words no correlation between bitcoin with the economy of a country, as is the case with dollar

Maybe Bitcoin doesn't influence world's economy or production in direct way but the fact that established cryptocurrency with real value is present on the market does have some impact. Banks and other financial institutions are very well aware of this fact and they have started to change their attitude.

Whether they change their attitude or not is debatable. Banks are regulated institutions; their favourite response to change is to run to the regulator crying foul. They may do this if Bitcoin grows too big.

That's what I am afraid of, the growth of bitcoin cannot be stop anymore, the network of people who adopt with bitcoin is getting bigger. In fact, the government are already started to make some actions to regulate the use of bitcoin, some countries ban bitcoin and some wants to take advantage of the people inside, they wants to collect taxes from the people behind the big circulation of bitcoin.

But how they are going to do that? They will never know how much bitcoin that we hold, so by putting some taxes on this will be pointless. They have no rights to check on our address or even take our bitcoin away too. There is a lot of things that we can do to make sure that we are not going to pay some taxes. If they cant control bitcoin, they will ban it for sure. This is what I really scared of

Currently it is not started in offline business in any country of the world but only in some countries in a few shops etc so it currently do not have much influence on our national or international economics but in online business it has a good influence on different aspects of online businesses and economy so with the passage of time when more companies will adopt it then it will have some influence on our state economics etc.

I read the commodities market has indirect relationship with the dollar such that if one goes up the other weakens therefore Bitcoin as a commodity prices shoot up then the dollar and the world economy weakens.

Yes, the commodity and bitcoins are coming under same classifications : alternate investments.
They are all alternate to dollar investments. We do keep on discussing bitcoin as an alternate to dollars so when dollars get weakened, bitcoin will find appreciations. Bitcoin is inversely proportional to dollars growth and surely influence world economy.

I am also convinced that the price of Bitcoin will grow. But you still need to be very careful.
The impact on the Bitcoin economy is still not very significant, but in the future will increase.

Indeed, bitcoin is an alternative to dollars and slowly becoming popular. With $16,629,938,004  Billion dollar market capitalization  (https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/)equivalent, it has a significant foot print on our economy. I believe it will continue to grow, if world economy is in turmoil as other are opted to invest in this crypto currency.

Which state do you refer to in your post?

There are different attitudes toward Bitcoin across various countries. For example, in some countries Bitcoin is already officially considered as a foreign currency (e.g. in the EU). But even if it is recognized as a currency does it actually change anything? Besides, I think that you are putting the cart before the horse, i.e. in reality things will likely work in the opposite direction. At first, Bitcoin starts affecting the national economy and only then it may get recognized (whatever that might mean including outright prohibition). It is highly unlikely that any government is going to accept Bitcoin before it goes mainstream and gets adopted by a significant part of population
