Title: Withdraw BTC if underage?
Post by: Neal Pnsserl on January 29, 2017, 12:36:03 PM
First of all, I'm not even sure how to withdraw BTC at all, but my problem is bigger than that.
Say for example I'm underage (no access to CC) and I have a couple of BTCs which I want to withdraw.
How can I do this if we take into account that I can't ask anyone to use their CC, PayPal, whatever?

If you don't have bitcoin atm machine near by you than you can use bitcoin exchange platform to sell your bitcoin and withdraw fiat into your parents bank account. There are also bitcoin debit cards in which you don't have to get verified but it will have withdraw limit so you can try them, here is list of  bitcoin debit card providers https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1410577.0

Meet up face-to-face. Find Bitcoiners in your area and I'm pretty sure there would be people interested in purchasing Bitcoins off you. Else, you can find someone on this forum that will do mail in cash for BTC for you.

An example of a platform that does this is localbitcoins and they have a pretty good escrow system.

You can witdrawal your bitcoin money easy to bank account b+and you dont need to have enought age but you need parents for that or ATM device I mean your parents need to create like example bitkonan account or any other wallet like bitstamp like a localbitcoins or any other which you know and put private informations like name, surname ,adress and other informations which they need and you can withdrawal your money to their bank account or you can withdrawal your money directly to your AMT device where are feees 5-10% when you widrawal your bitcoins which automatticly will turn to your local money.

Well, you see, Bitcoin was created to keep your anonymity when transferring money, buying or selling stuff online etc.. so you don't need to use your CC or PayPal to exchange BTC into fiat. In order to do that, you can go to ATMs that are BUYING Bitcoin. Look them up on Google, a quick search about the ATMs around you will give you a list of them. Unfortunately the only one I have in my country that accepts buying is too far away from me.. :D

Well I guess I'm lucky since our capital has a few of them and it's only about 15km from where I live.
How exactly do these work? I just send my BTC to their address and it prints out cash?

You can withdraw your btc through your parents bank account. But you cant withdraw them personaly direct to the bank. As other were saying. ATM card is your solution. Also, if you have local bitcoin wallet. You can withdraw your funds thru remittance. Me, im using a localbitcoin wallet and i can cash out my btc thru remittance. I just dont know what age they allow to withdraw the funds.

Since you're underage and you are already aware of bitcoin then in my opinion, you are really smart than those kids around there. Why not use localbitcoins.com if you have one in your locality and ask one area brother to join. You can use his account or ask him to follow you for a tip but be sure he is someone to be trusted. Doing this might save you a lot of troubles because parents might not understand.

You got to use localbitcoins, my friend, but even this method I'm not recommending since you need to meet up with someone in person to do the exchange. If there is a bitcoin atm anywhere near you then you're lucky because you surely will bypass all of those security verifications and whatnot.

I have new idea how you can withdrawal your money.Explain to your friend how bitcoin works and then teach him how he can earn bitcoins online and he will be suprised maybe or maybe not try it maybe it will work and then offer him  to sell some amount for bitoin and explain him how he can turn that amount of bitcoins to bigger amount of bitcoins. So first he need to pay you via fiat cash and then you can teach him how he can create bitcoin wallet or try to find person from your town which accept bitcoin -fiat exchange and then change but they will earn a little money on you because you get less fiat money whe you exchange with some trader .

I think you are trying to say on how to cash out your bitcoins from your online wallet. Here in our country, Identification is really needed for we to be able make a request for cashing out our money from the local wallet. But there is an option that we can get it even we don't have a credit card or bank account.

i think it would not be your friend because your friend is the same age like you so you need to explain bitcoin to your dad or people which is older than you and after that you can find buyer in localbitcoin or other place and make negotiate with the buyer using the account from person that is older than you. when the negoatiate is deal, then the buyer can send the money to person that older from you, you send the amount of bitcoin to the buyer.

Where I live, there is a bitcoin embassy, I know they buy / sell bitcoin for cash up to a certain amount.  You can buy gift cards, like amazon cards with bitcoin through some sites.  You can order stuff directly with bitcoin, like on newegg.  Best bet is local meet up with bitcoin enthusiasts and sell it there.  if you do meet someone face to face to sell, make sure you meet in a safe place.  Like a police station :)

Well then hook on to an exchange and get them to send you fiat by mobile money or buy something online with your Bitcoin and then pawn them for fiat afterwards but I'm wondering why would an underage be needing that extra cash for if your parents are that responsible in keeping you off Bitcoin/money.

Use localbitcoin.com you dont need to give any info since the use escrow. You can see the traders in your country and even meet then face to face if you like. The have different things a trader can fill in so be sure to check that before trading. Please note it is not nesserily an untrusted person if they are not fully verified.

All traders verify on a basic level then they can choose to use ID or drivers license to increase their legitimacy.

Localbitcoin or bitsquare is the fit for you, localbitcoin meet bitcoin trader around you, use escrow to secure your transaction.
Bitsquare is an exchange platform which decentralized system, don't need account, don't need an identity.

I think its more convenient way to convert your bitcoin into cash without getting discover that you are underage. You can cash out you btc directly on the person you trade with your bitcoin.

If you look in this forum, under services, or even under Goods, you can see several services that will send you a physical debit card for your bitcoin without verification. This you can just use at any ATM to withdraw cash. I understand bitplastic.com also do the same thing. The downside might be the fees and the rates, which won't be as good.

Yes. It's mostly one way though. OP, you need to check if the ATM has any requirements for ID verification. Some places do require IDs to exchange Bitcoins.

Many of those debit cards specifically prohibits Bitcoin related transactions and they also have quite a fee attached.

Get a bank account opened by your parents and withdraw the money, it can't be that complicated.

If you don't want to depend on your parents, you are going to need to meet with someone in real life through localbitcoins and get them exchanged for cash, I don't see any other way.

No problem to get your money. you can sell your bitcoin to anyone near to you and he can pay you cash, Or you can do that:
Exchange your bitcoin to fiat to anyone you trust which he had a credit card. Maybe your parents or best friends, and give him your money to withdraw your money with her CC by ATM.
I don't think this is a problem, with bitcoin you can always find a solution.   ;D

From what I know even kids can have a Bank account, from there on you can easily withdraw your Bitcoin and convert it to Fiat if your Wallet allows that kind of option. They are the ones who will convert the current price of Bitcoin equal to the Fiat they will send to your Bank Account. It is one of the easy and hassle free ways to convert your Bitcoin.

If you are allowed in your country to have a bank account when you are minor then you can withdraw funds. For example on localbitcoins if you trade Bitcoins for payments to bank account, it should be no problem, localbitcoins will not ask you the proof that you are not underage.
The other opportunity is to trade Bitcoins face to face.

Most banks allow minors to have their own accounts, they just need to come with a parent, who agrees to being legally responsible in case of fraud and so on. I had a bank account as a minor and my own CC and used to get pocket money wired in there :) If OP can't do it I'd recommend a transaction via localbitcoins. PayPal is not the best option, they may block your account if they find out it's used for trading bitcoins and the buyer could scam you with a chargeback.

There were already lots of easy way to cash out money without having a bank account and age does not matter. In our country there is that cashless instant ATM cash out and lots of cash out options , some of it didn't requires age , just an identification in creating an account in such local wallet. It is nice that it can be used with or without identification yet  it's still safe and secure to use.

Do you mean that you want to exchange them to fiat and then withdraw them from whichever exchange?

There is one exchange within Canada that allows for you to withdraw via a check to your bank account, and I do not believe that they require any sort of age verification or government ID, however they do have to ask at a certain point.

They only need ID if you exchange between USD and CAD iirc.

It depends on every country laws, some countries allow minors to have bank accounts and debit cards. I think that the best case is if you can sell your bitcoins to a friend (or someone that you know) and he/she pays you on fiat money.

Face to face dealing of bitcoin or any currency with strangers is a dangerous proposition and that too he said he is underage .So try selling it with the help of an exchange and ask the help of your elders bank account to withdraw the money rather than any other methods.

You can buy gift vouchers with your bitcoin, and then spend the vouchers.

See

if you are in the UK (and they accept some alts as well)

Or use https://www.gyft.com/ if you are in the US

Thanks for the info on bitplastic... I found it and bookmarked through news sites but always good to do some due diligence before trying any service.

About debit cards, I'm talking about the ones sold with preloaded debit or a prepaid card which you buy with bitcoin. The only transaction will be bitcoin to the seller.

Since you can't use others CC as you said, the best option would be to ask on forums whether you have people living near you who wnat to buy Bitcoins. You meet in a cafe, they give you cash, you transfer BTC to their address. But be careful, do it in a crowded place in the center of a city, like in McDonald's for example.

So, you can't do anything. For withdrawal your bitcoin especially for exchanging it for the money and you might have CC, Paypal or something is using for withdrawal your money although you can try to sell them for your close person and you won't need any more like PayPal or cc.

There are Bitcoin ATMs since 2013...

Some work only to buy Bitcoin, but where I've checked most worked to buy and also to sell.

I dont get it, how did you get Bitcoins in the first place if you are under age? So now you cant withdraw it because no bank gives you cc but most banks would offer you a bank account provided your parents agree to it. Let's assume in your country even that doesn't happen then best option is why don't you exchange here on this forum. This will quickest and easiest way for you. So here's how it will work, you find a person to exchange then he will ask you to send and he will pay you Fiat, check their ratings some charge a fee others don't, I personally prefer this mode.

In the case if that site where you keep your coins doesn't allow you to withdraw your money through the way you know, then create another bitcoin alley on other site . That's how I did before - my first wallet hadn't any option for withdrawing that would use to me. So I created account on YoBit and transferred my coins there and from YoBit I can withdraw money directly on my card.

Anyone can get/earn bitcoin, there's no age limit.
Op if you aren't able to get cash, then buying gift cards is another great option, you can buy something off amazon or some other online stores.
