Bitcoin has one big advantage over PayPal - no one can block your account. Your wallet is totally under your control.
With centralized payment services it is common to see your account suspended, frozen and banned when they find out you are dealing with online gambling services.
No wonder bitcoin is leading the way to become number 1 currency used by gamblers and dethrone fiat.

Paypal has buyer protection, Bitcoin not. But Bitcoin will win, as it is decentralized and everyone is his own bank. :)

PayPal has the buyers protection it has established strong trust online. Bitcion though young has also gone from stage to stage. In near by future PayPal may not be needed except they merchandise. Bitcoin is decentralised, you can easily make transfer with low fees, PayPal don't increase in value but bitcoin has increased it value from inception till now and those that are  buy and holding has also makes it big in bitcoin.

Paypal is not accepted in almost all of the gambling platform so bitcoin is far better than paypal in gambling industry and i don't think bitcoin should be compared with paypal in this regard.

We can compare bitcoin with skrill, neteller which are popular payment gateway for casinos/sportsbook in past, but now bitcoin is slowly overtaking them. They have also realized the potential of bitcoin so they have started accepting bitcoin as one of their deposit method.

Paypal and all centralized payment processors will slowly die because of bitcoin atleast in gambling niche. Credit card and payment from centralized payment gateway can expose your personal details and government may knock your door if gambling is restricted in your country or if you are under age. Bitcoin will soon be no.1 payment system for gambling platforms and casinos.

Both have their merits..

At this time there is clearly a market for both, but this will likely shift to give bitcoin a bigger share of the market. For online gambling it will definately be bitcoin, as it is illegal in many countries and paypal won't provide their service in that case.

For online shopping = paypal is best because of its buyers protection.
For gambling and buying items being anonymous = bitcoin is perfect

So both have their own advantages and disadvantages but talking about gambling, bitcoin is the winner.

Like others said both have merit, but bitcoin may never beat paypal, as it is more complicated to set up for a lay person, and it does not offer features like paypal which are more important in the real world, for example the buyers protection.

No clear winner both has its own strength and weakness. Just take advantage of both and you will be ok if you are using both as online payment.

You mean to say that paypal is giving the best security - that is buyers protection, then i think you have not gone through the scam post of how the buyers are scamming the sellers in the name of buyers protection. So i think paypal is becoming the worst nightmare to use. as the transactions are reversible before 6 months.

PayPal is worth nearly $50 billion
bitcoin market cap$15.07B

PayPal processed $99 billion, up 22% from the same period last year, net revenue of $2.98 billion, up 17% from sales of $2.56 billion in the fourth quarter of 2015
bitcoin same price it was 4years ago...

surprised to see so many people saying bitcoin is winning the race with very little change.

i use both... but with btc prices going too high or too low "too fast" i never keep it long enough. only when i want to gamble.
i use paypal 10x more.

which is why i think btc hasn't exploded like we all thought it would a few years ago. people keep money in a savings account for years. if alot of bitcoin users are like me and are too scared of holding it long term the demand wont be as great.

I think Paypal is winning but Bitcoin is the winner, Paypal has the global acceptance but bitcoin has the most to offer and at some point will overtake Paypal as the leader in mobile and online payments.

As long as people can't send bitcoins with confidence to unknown persons online, bitcoins can't overtake PayPal because as of now if you want to deal with unknown persons then we have to go through with escrow for the transactions, and it can delay the transaction and also adds additional cost to the transaction. So I think both have different advantages and disadvantages. I still feel Paypal will lead online payment processing compared to Bitcoins.

since you are posting this in a gambling board then you only have to compare them in gambling and i don't know if you have ever noticed but gambling is small part of bitcoin usage.

and the comparison is too obvious, we can all tell that bitcoin is a lot better. the anonymity, and the cheap transactions alone beat any other method and there is no need to start on any other features.

This is the right question for this thread. Bitcoin a crypto currency and its used as a remittance. Maybe comparing paypal to an exchange is the right way of this comparison because bitcoin is distinct from exchange. But well, no doubt that bitcoin is going to win this race as many are tired of using Paypal because of their higher fee.

i am confident to say that bitcoin is the winner the race because bitcoin have many benefits than paypal. we can have bitcoin for free without any fee, we can manage bitcoin from our own, we don't have to worried that we can get limitation like in paypal, we can send our balance into many wallet and it is different than paypal that we can not have more than 2 account with the same names.

there are too many benefits from bitcoin that can not compare with paypal and i think bitcoin is the next payment gateway that will be use by many people.

How the hell people compare bitcoin to Paypal. They are 100% different as bitcoin is currency and Paypal is a company. Can bitcoin do all Paypal services without a company?

Compare Paypal to other bitcoin exchange such as Coinbase, XAPO etc. No doubt that Paypal is still dominant to those bitcoin exchanges since bitcoin are mostly used to buy and sell and to take profits.

there are too many benefits from bitcoin that can not compare with paypal and i think bitcoin is the next payment gateway that will be use by many people.

Those benefits are vary because you will used bitcoin exchange here to make transact of bitcoin.

That buyer's protection are killing the sellers and that's why some of them are now migrating into bitcoins. And we already know the answer since we are here in a bitcoin forum. Bitcoin itself is winning the race for this although it should be compare with exchanging sites as ndnh said. The advantage of it are already there.

Definitely it is bitcoin who is winning the race, bitcoin is new but it is overtaking paypal as the best payment processor online.
Imagine how big the gambling industry online, and most of them are already using bitcoin now due to it's very unique and valuable function, they can gamble without giving their important information and I am speculating that more people will adopt and bitcoin will continue to be popular in the years to come.

i think bitcoin already overtake paypal. because not bitcoin is can be use for sending money more easy than paypal. additionally bitcoin also providing so many other services that bitcoin cannot provide us. like to we can use bitcoin for trading  and investment, where as paypal can only be use for transaction and payment purpose. bitcoin itself is a currency, whole paypal not not currency, a lot of paypal users are now using bitcoin for transaction and payment method.

actually paypal already popular when bitcoin still growth but only in the next few years bitcoin run with very fast and through paypal from popularity side and indeed one of the factor why people more likely choose bitcoin rather than paypal because bitcoin have feature which paypal doesn't have anonymity and once again that bitcoin could use almost all gambling sites in the world but paypal doesn't able to do that

Even i am thinking the same because both entity has different view, Bitcoin is not an exchange, where as paypal does the exchanges. Paypal has many legal formats which we need to satisfy in order to get payments from them. Bitcoin is completely digital asset where we can invest into bitcoin, there is no mediator for bitcoin.

The reasons given for supporting Bitcoin over PayPal are vague.

Quote
Bitcoin is universally compatible, and can be accessed in all over the world, provided there is an internet connection. However, with PayPal there are at least 50 or more countries that do not have support its online payment system.

It's the case that bitcoins are not recognized or legally accepted by the universe as compared to PayPal which is legal. There's a huge difference when the Reserve Bank of a country accepts this payment mode while doesn't legalize bitcoins.

Another statement:

Quote
PayPal still manages to charge its customers 2.9% plus $0.30, and 2.5% foreign exchange fees on each transaction. Meanwhile, most bitcoin systems charge a 1% fee for converting bitcoin into any local currency.

Bitcoins are heading towards charging more fees than PayPal. With a fixed fee of 100 satoshis per byte, the cost to confirm each transaction would be based in terms of bitcoins and not a local currency. In case of PayPal, the amount of USD doesn't fluctuate to that extent as it's stable. People have ended up paying $0.5 for a transaction of $10 which is almost same or more than what PayPal charges.

Regarding gambling and regulation, I agree that taxes apply with fiat and bitcoins have been able to help users save these taxes but ultimately when we convert it to our local currency, the taxes do apply. Gamblign is anyways not legal in many countries.

Regarding this matter theres no questions asked here because the users of it speaks for itself. One day paypal would really end its service when bitcoins adoption and awareness would be on its fullest. For now theres still using paypal because of some advantages because its regulated by the government and some people do really love to use it specially to those who don't have any idea about bitcoin.

If we're talking about gambling industries, Bitcoin is a winner and use Paypal as a payment method is highly prohibited because using Paypal members can easily dispute their money and get back their money. While using Bitcoin you can stay anonymously and make a bet after deposit.

that's the advantage of bitcoin when we dealt with gambling we can play easily without any trace unlike paypal we needed to provide personal information for us to able to us the service and as we knew most gamblers really wanted to be anonymous and safe aside from making it easier to place their bets too.

Bitcoin uses is the easiest payment processor compared with any services. Provided easy to used and don't have complicated terms, the terms itself build by users.

PayPal have a complicated approval for online gambling, you can read here: https://www.paypal.com/us/selfhelp/article/What-gambling-activities-does-PayPal-prohibit-FAQ915
Actually that's natural for centralized services, they name and reputation be staked.
Instead the easiest method bitcoin have will be the bad side, because there's no guaranteed your funds will safe into online gambling company because it's not thru the "terms of approval", it's back to personally and need to be more careful to dealing with someone or company.

Certainly as regards the gambling industry the bitcoin as payment medium is preferable than paypal which pursues a very strict policy when someone wants to use it for online gambling activities. Therefore, is logical the owners of online casino, betting, gambling and similar sites are skeptical to use it. However, with regard to purchases from online stores the dominance of paypal is undeniable. The chargeback (buyer friendly) policy which follows in case the seller is fraudster apparently is the winner compared to bitcoin where any payment is irreversible.

We don't have PayPal access in all countries. The online workers who accept PayPal payment and don't have access to withdraw that amount they are paying an extra charge to some 3rd person to deposit that amount to there any local bank. This is too much complicated and has a lot of restrictions in PayPal transaction. But in bitcoin, we don't have any restrictions to send or receive BTC. So I will prefer BTC.

This is only a comparison between Bitcoin and Paypal,
Bitcoin is very flexible to use, like in money transfer, not anyone can control your bitcoin/money, very secure, very convenient to use while in Paypal charge is very high, unlike in bitcoin is too low, in Paypal many clients are complaining to their services, in Paypal they do banning your account while in bitcoin not, rules is very strict while in bitcoin no rules only use it as personal assets investment.

I have the same opinion like you do. Paypal is just shit service and I hope they will finish their story quickly. Main point is freedom, and with bitcoin we are free much more then with paypal, i think that is the ace in bitcoin sleeve. At the moment as I can see bitcoin and paypal are very close, but I think in long run paypal will lose this race, their service will lose purpose one day.

Bitcoin is better than PayPal in case of financial platform even though PayPal has widely services for their customers.
But the advantages of bitcoin will overcome others financial services due to decentralized system without any central banks interfere.
Moreover for gambling, everytime and anywhere with an online network. Gambling sites accepted bitcoin and make it easier for people join in.

I think bitcoin is winning. We just need more adoption that would turn bitcoin as a mainstream payment method that most companies will use for their services and products. That would really change the game and steal the customers of paypal and other payment processors. I am not sure though, why this topic is in the gambling section.

For internet payments, paypal wins. because most of the online stores don't accept bitcoins yet, while they do accept paypal, so i am sure that bitcoin can't win here if you can't use it everywhere.

But for online gambling, bitcoin is the winner, as with bitcoin gambling you don't have to give your id before gambling or anything, you just need to have some bitcoins to play and that is all, as there is many different bitcoin gambling sites

I don't have both. But I will be buying a few btc in a few days, so we will see how it goes. I like btc because of its anonymity and faster transaction. So for me no one is a winner. If they can co-exist to give us advantage in online transaction then why not?
to me i think bitcoin is winning the race, although paypal is very stable working and providing services for a long time, while bitcoin is very much new, but i think still the service of bitcoin is available everywhere, people from all over the world are using bitcoin wile the sevice of papal is not available everywhere and now their service is now becoming weaker and weaker from time to time.

I think bitcoin will win against paypal. Bitcoin as online payment platform is very simple and easy to use so everyone can use it, in contrast to paypal using credit cards so that only a few people who can use it. Indeed paypal has many uses and is accepted in almost all countries, but bitcoin now also been growing and in the future will get through paypal.

As of now PayPal is more popular and bitcoin and if this race is valid until the end of the time I'll go for bitcoin. We know that people wants to get more with bitcoin as its transaction are faster and cheaper. This will make bitcoin to lead on this race and take note that PayPal is the one that will adopt bitcoin in the end, there are speculations about it already.

bitcoin can win, bitcoin anonymous and easy use, bitcoin can get rerturn because bitcoin price fluctuative
paypal is very dificult use, must verified, and can't get return
What return facility are you talking about. Are you talking about the profit you can get because of the price fluctuation .
There is no race between bitcoin and paypal for that matter. Bitcoin is a currency and paypal is a payment option and the only common factor is that both are virtual payment methods .

The truth is that, though Bitcoin isn't official being used in purchasing stuffs, trading, and investing for public, it's a threat for PayPal since their market would be lessen as Bitcoin competes them. I hope Bitcoin can be converted directly to the bank where there would be no site/app that need your money to go through it to convert into bitcoin or fiat vice versa. Sooner, it can happen and that is the time Bitcoin win against PayPal.

Bitcoin will win in the end for gambling specially, since its ideal. You can gamble at any day of the week, in any country, and your age doesn't matter as long as you have bitcoins, that is what is so great, its total freedom. When I Was in HS i wanted to play poker for real money, but they would not allow me to register cause i was underage. I could have played poker with bitcoins back then. Kids of the future will be do that and some will get rich.

According to me Bitcoin is Winning the Race Because Bitcoin has Many Features that PayPal Doesn't Have Like Bitcoin is anoymous and Have Less Fees for Transaction and Also Your Account never be Put on Hold or Blocked if you are Using Bitcoin But in PayPal Your Account can be Blocked and Your Funds can be Put on Hold.........

Bitcoin really overtake paypal in terms of the features it has, and some of the paypal users was shifted into bitcoin already. And because of the anonymity of bitcoin, and decentralization which paypal doesn't have any of it is the main reason why bitcoin winning the race in online payment.

Paypal is still leading the race in terms of online payment transaction but bitcoin is not far behind. But bitcoin has the possibility to overtake payment in a few years because bitcoin is going global and mass adopted soon. And people will learn about it being anon and fast(?) so they are going to shift to bitcoin.

Well base on my experience when verification in paypal its really hard sometimes they are not accepting your card and sometimes halving linking some apps to paypal. that really not verify easily just like i experience few days ago.. i cant verified my paypal account using vcc because halving error when adding. unlike in bitcoin that much easier to use the good part in paypal you can reverse the payment once you scam..

It is not race because:

Quote
PayPal prohibits transactions for gambling activities by merchants and account holders in the U.S. and any jurisdiction where gambling activities are illegal, and by merchants whose services are accessible to account holders in the U.S.

PayPal allows approved gambling merchants to use our service in certain jurisdictions where gambling activities are legal. To be approved by PayPal, merchants must demonstrate to PayPal's satisfaction that they have the ability to block gambling activities for account holders in the U.S. and any jurisdiction where gambling activities may be illegal.

It has nothing to do with fees, fast transactions, anonymity or I don't know what else.

I think bitcoin has really an advantage to win over paypal thats because bitcoin is knows as a currency in gambling so most people use bitcoin and its easy to use than paypal. I think paypal is more when you want to buy something like in online shops like Amazon, Ebay, and any other online stores that mostly does not accepts bitcoin. Sooner in the future I still think bitcoin can expand more than paypal.  ;)

The thing is that paypal doesn't really support online gambling.

If you were a gambler and you wanted to get to some casino online to play, you'll never find one that accepts Paypal. Okay, maybe just a few that accepts paypal but the rest accepts skrill or neteller.

But bitcoin, it's anonyomus. You don't nee to go through the verification process with skrill or neteller with bitcoin.

Actually it is cheaper to send via Paypal now than to send via bitcoin, at least domestically.

But overall I think bitcoin is still killing it, because it has gained so much adoption over the past few years.

Bitcoin is definitely exceeding paypal by a large margin on the gambling scene though because it is anonymous and easy to deposit and withdraw without having to worry about account limitation by paypal.

Each has got its own user base based on the usage with the same. For gambling purpose bitcoin usage is preferred high, for which we cannot say that PayPal is losing to bitcoin. For all trading requirement, business necessity and shopping needs PayPal is given preference. I believe there is no need of a comparison as both function based on different backing.

A big part of the reason why bitcoin is becoming more popular is because of its function as an investment. Not only is it a currency that can be used to buy stuff over the net, but it is also a store of value, much like gold which you can bring anywhere and use as long as there is internet connection. Other benefit that is obvious is the pseudonymity of the user which appeals to those who doesn’t want to create accounts that require so many personal identifications.

I think they are not really related. Bitcoin has so much more applications. It's a curreny by itself so it can be used as an investment, as paypal, is only used for payments. Bitcoins can be used alone to make payments online payments, and is now being used by other services like neteller, so it's definitely better than paypal, and I think they don't really play in the "same league".

Yes, you are right both are completely different scenario because Paypal is a payment processor and it is very serving many people from different of the country but where Bitcoin is not a payment processor, it is one of the currency like Fiat. No one has an exact answer for your question because your question is not relevant one.

Whereas Bitcoin is best for anonymous transactions and less fees comparatively.

That is absolutely correct, there is no competition between these two because; they really have each other's different advantages in terms with digital currency network transactions. Paypal to bitcoin is a good partnership when purchasing btc and even selling it, people knew btc due to paypal as mediator of everything just to have digital currency on their account. We should not compare bitcoin transaction using blockchain, because it's totally different from paypal which is using fiat currency money payments online through banking.

When I tried to gamble with PayPal, there's a feeling of nervousness with that Company. There just is no safe feeling with PayPal because they like to have frozen accounts for no reason at all. Making a withdrawal through PayPal is not usually automated as well because the company will notice a number of payments going to and into the company and they will just freeze accounts and keep the money.

you're right and this is why i've choose to use bitcon rather than paypal. paypal have their own power to make someone accounts deleted or frozen or lock so we can not use our account except we send email to them. i remember when the last time i make withdrawal with my paypal account, i need to wait at least a weeks to see that money is arrive in my bank account although there are any sellers that want to buy my balance but i decide its not good for me. in the future, i think bitcoin will win the race in gambling site because bitcoin offers easy and simple for the gamblers to make deposit and withdraw and the gamblers don't have to waited too long.

You are lucky if Paypal don't froze your account. I still have my paypal account but I don't used that much often because I already switch to bitcoin already. Specially if paypal found out that something is fishy with your account, the ins and outs of your money history, and they will just froze it off without apparent reason.

I am not seeing any gambling sites are accepting PayPal as scammers may file chargeback once they finish up their works with the gambling site. Only very sites are allowing its members to withdraw using PayPal, most of them not allowing for adding money for bankroll.

Considering the advantages and problem free nature of bitcoins, both gamblers and gambling houses are enjoying more benefits compare to the case of adopting PayPal payment system.

Yeah, I've only seen one or two online casino's accept Paypal and I think it was even against Paypal's TOS for it to be used by gambling providers, if I recall correctly.
I really think that more and more regular online casino's will start accepting Bitcoin.

Using PayPal as your payment processor for your gambling service is not easy.

You need to be be located in jurisdiction where gambling activities are legal and you have to verified by PayPal.

And the most important:
"PayPal allows approved gambling merchants to use our service in certain jurisdictions where gambling activities are legal.
To be approved by PayPal, merchants must demonstrate to PayPal's satisfaction that they have the ability to block gambling activities for account holders in the U.S. and any jurisdiction where gambling activities may be illegal".

Bitcoin is the chosen payment method from most of the gamblers that gamble online. There is just no chance of PayPal trying to survive in this competition since they don’t like to have transactions from Casino’s and new websites without them knowing every detail about it. Bitcoin allows people to gamble without having to mess around with companies trying to go through a long period of days just so the payment account could get frozen and all the earnings made from the gamble was for nothing.

The only gambling websites that I've seen that offer Paypal deposits are in Belgium and they have very strict regulations for accepting players from other countries.

This is a strange comparison for anyone especially this bitcoin news site to be making since they are completely different in how they work. And the only thing that connects them in their business is a remittance of payments and receiving them. Nothing more really. :-\
Right, there is no real competition between the two because Bitcoin has the potential of getting larger within the gambling area instead of PayPal. Gambling with PayPal won’t get that large because of the laws that are placed within different Countries and States, if they wanted to operate and work with Casino’s then they would have to have a bunch of patience –patience means money to them and spending money on something that they feel that they don’t have to is out of the question.

Even payment transactions are not same because in PayPal you no need to though with any escrow because buyers are auto protected in their system but if you want to send payment to an unknown person using bitcoins, then you must need to go through the escrow service which adds additional fee and delays transactions. But still, both can use to send and receive money with a different process.

Paypal transactions a few years ago to get into trouble as experienced by libertyreserve and it has an effect that hasn't been able to recover the present from its users, VCC card is also still free to be traded so it is still prone to be used for money laundering, Peter Thiel also has recognized respect for bitcoin because growth faster than paypal, and I think no defeat experienced by paypal because the owner has been appointed as a budget staff in US government.

Why is bitcoin being compared with paypal and the paypal with bitcoin? They have their respective services and advantages. So far, we are using bitcoin for our everyday transactions, because of its services and we've been using it for some time now. Bitcoin and paypal have the potential to expand their services to facilitate transaction for customers on each service they use.

We are on bitcoin forum then its indeed bitcoin would really be the winner here when it comes to accesibility and anonymity of transactions but i would skip on the fees as of now because it becoming a problem for most bitcoin users which fees are already high but still much better on paypal fees which we know it really high.Bitcoin might not be still popular like paypal but soon it would really surpass it.

Bitcoin always on top among others. Bitcoin is always the best that I've ever known. It can't beat by other creations like digital coins or even PayPal. Bitcoin has the special characteristics than others. It can be used in a payment transaction, paying people for the job done, bills and etc. You can get bitcoin anywhere and cash it out into fiat money. It was very helpful to us to make our life easy. Just make it happen then it may happen.

Bitcoin does have advantages over Paypal in transaction as the receiver does not need to worry about getting charge-back from the sender on the funds, another advantage would be the choice to remain anonymous as Paypal does need the person to verify their account on a certain amount of transaction volume.

But as Bitcoin miner fees gets higher for every transaction sent, I think the advantage of transaction fees on Bitcoin over Paypal might be gone should the miner fees continue to rise.

It is obvious that bitcoin has the advantage of gambling over paypal as bitcoin doesn't have any sort of terms and conditions on it while receiving payments. It is a form of a currency which can be controlled by it's users only. If you see on other hand paypal is like a registered verified online payment system so it will surely have to follow the rules and can't just allow gambing with it funds

Yes we have to see a lot of improvisation in bitcoin once all the bugs fix and people are using this bitcoin without getting issues then people start to accept bitcoin as payment. Now in online business yes more people use the only PayPal because it is very old payment method and it becomes popular in the online market. They will give customer support also that is why in present situation PayPal is strong. But in future Bitcoin will replace PayPal.

When bitcoin and PayPal are compared one over the other one could find lots of differences. Personally PayPal serves to be a transaction portal whereas bitcoin serves itself as a currency network and as a payment portal. Now this has found its need in other investments and related platforms, So bitcoin wins the run though PayPal is highly popular all around.

With the emergence of Bitcoins and age of cryptocurrencies, Paypal has a lost it edge and thats very good too. Paypal was limited to a lot of African countries due to fraud and that made it impossible to do certain things online, but with the emergence of bitcoins, its very easy. Bitcoins wins by a massive margin.

About this topic, I don't think paypal will win against bitcoins in the gambling industry. It's like bitcoins were made for gambling online.

In this quarter I am sure bitcoin will be winning simply because of the flexibility however in other places I am sure they will go for PayPal simply because they control fraud and can even get you your money back and not only that, anyone who is trying to outsmart them, the account is banned and by so doing put of the business of scamming people but bitcoin, that is one deficiency even to the point of a tainted coin which does not stop any transfer of coins from one account to the other.

How come bitcoin and Paypal can be compared? Is bitcoin a company?? On the other hand, is Paypal a currency?? Compare Paypal to bitcoin exchanges and not with the inappropriate comparison. Most of the bitcoin exchanges having a terms about gambling, same with Paypal. In terms of gambling industry, surely bitcoin will be used more in the future but today it's not the real picture.

We are here in cryptoworld that's why we think that gambling industry are being dominated now by bitcoin. We don't have an idea how currently big is the usual online gambling today that deals with the fiat. Bitcoin will reached it's domination but today I can't see it.

Paypal has both good and bad qualities. The seller also cheats customers and buyers also cheat sellers. So this is a very complicated transaction. And PayPal will take a long time to release payments. I agree they have control on our funds, anyone planned to cheat us they will take care, and they refund our money back. This advantage many people using it in wrong way this is the big drawback of PayPal.

Why not consider bitcoin to use and make payments online. It's one of the popular usage of bitcoin and I guess bitcoin is winning this so called race or competition. But let's don't have a competition like this as both are useful and we can choose where we will get mostly low fees and fast transaction or what you preferred way of transacting.

I agree, bitcoins are much much better than paypal in this aspect. The gambling world will be ruled by those casinos with bitcoins as their primary currency! That's the truth and future of gambling. This is why popular sports books has been adopting bitcoins as one of their ways to cash in to the sport books because they recognize the potential of bitcoins.

Bitcoin!!

Paypal Chargeback is the reason why i get to know bitcoin more and use bitcoin

And the fee, even conversion rate from currency to currency in Paypal they charged a small fee too.

Too much fee in Paypal.

Of course the recent price pump of btc does make the fee expensive now especially for very small transaction.

Yet, its still having advantage over paypal imo

Obviously that bitcon is going to win in this race because bitcoin has a small fee compared to paypal. Yet, though paypal had a advantages on security but bitcoin have an advantage that paypal never had like bitcoin is anonymous so that government cannot manipulate it and it means no tax...the other one is bitcoin has a unstable price and it means that it has a possibility to turn into enormous price that might doube your money.

if we are talking about the fee then bitcoin is a winner depend on paypal because the fee for make a transaction in bitcoin is really to small and i think every one which using bitcoin is no problem with the fee. paypal have a high level security but sometimes, paypal makes something wrong like freeze the account without any notice like what i've got in the past. and with bitcoin, i think bitcoin have many value that could help users to manage and control their bitcoin directly without having sending their personal identifications.

I totally agreee with you, there's no competition and besides they both use different technologies and so comparing them really limits the argument to the number of users on both platforms and with that we could say PayPal has more people using annually than Bitcoin but it doesn't make it a better payment processor than Bitcoin.

Right, though in the terms of gambling payments Bitcoin is the leading payment system that people would use when gambling online. PayPal does not have a chance against Bitcoin in this field since PayPal monitors pretty much every transaction that exceeds $0.05 that goes through their website.
PayPal likes acting as a bank so they should be treated as a bank and that's why they are losing the payment system race.

I'm also a little confused as to why people always compare those who basically have different purpose. although in this case bitcoin is superior because of anonym bitcoin transactions and some gamblers prefer anonym for some reason. but paypal can also be superior to bitcoin in some things.

If PayPal was introduced after bitcoins, probably people will never mind it. PayPal gained some popularity when there was literally no competitions against it. But bitcoin is becoming popular and the volume of bitcoin transactions must have out number PayPal's at least in gambling/casino industries. I guess these are enough reasons to compare these two payment processors.

Bitcoin must be more preferable for gambling house owners rather than gamblers. Because bitcoin is coming with free of charge backs whereas scammers easily cheat houses with paypal payments. At the same time, gamblers enjoy many benefits by using bitcoins for their gambling.

In my opinion, bitcoin must have won this race some long back itself. We cannot ignore the contributions from gambling sites on helping bitcoin to get spread and the contributions for price surges too.

There are many advantages concerning whether Bitcoin is better or Paypal. There are things that you would consider regarding how much you are comfortable with the form of payment. Bitcoin is the main currency itself, and not something like Paypal who would connect you to your bank and that's where the money from Paypal to pay for your purchases or something like that. It would be considered as a thing that could go hand to hand.

The main difference is that bitcoin being decentralized, you are your own bank. There's no risk that someone else feels like you did something wrong, resulting in closure of your account. Both are online payment methods yes, but paypal having global acceptance makes it on the lead right now; in a near future bitcoin will surely be the winner if you consider all what it has to offer.

But I don't think bitcoin in any near future can beat the Paypal payment processing system. Because first Paypal gives a full protection to the buyers so buyers can buy from any unknown person without worrying much. But with bitcoin, you have to go through with escrow which makes buying process slow and also now for smaller transactions bitcoin fees are very expensive and it is no more economical to send money through bitcoins.

No, main difference is that paypal has strict rules about gambling - in case you missed it: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1771195.msg18713382#msg18713382

You are wrong. Almost every gambling site has rule about money laundry, if you do something wrong don't be surprised if they close your account.
Also, if you win larger amount of money many sites will ask you for personal information - so you can tell your anonymity goodby.

As an online payment platform, Bitcoin appears to have all the advantages over Paypal, making it hot for the online gambling world too.

Bitcoin handsdown paypal is obsolete and does nothing and it's has lots of problems associated with it, plus the reversals is a major problem when doing any transactions in it. Then suddenly it blocks account or just deletes the information, and on top of it I don't feel the data is secure cause you keep on getting spam emails, where as Bitcoin works fast, identity safe and simple and easy to use.

PayPal will provide protection and will freeze your funds too, do you really think PayPal will survive against the competitions provided by bitcoins. I do not think so. PayPal will get replaced by bitcoin payments system when we will be solving block sclalability issues. At least from gambling industry Paypal will get replaced for sure.

In the race for gamblers, I believe bitcoin has already conquered PayPal with its friendly and fast transaction nature. (friendly in the sense not rude how PayPal is doing with charge backs and freezing funds/accounts).

At the moment big players are able to trade with bitcoins without being traced, something paypal has a lot rules like the most exchanges, requiring documents. If the question is about volume i still believe paypal has the biggest, due to merchants not accepting bitcoin as payment yet. The most transactions at bitcoin are the blocks mined transfered to another accounts.

t the moment, PayPal more competitor than Payza bitcoin. They have a completely different customer. Bitcoin is more speculative platform and PayPal and Payza is more designed for the purchase of goods for dollars. In the future this situation may change, but there it is.
Payza is much better than PayPal though, since Bitcoin transaction were used in Payza (I am not so sure if they are anymore) the potential of Payza getting popular is better than PayPal in the gambling area. PayPal been around for a very long time and the people that use it already know that they can’t rely on their PayPal account to stay active when they have incoming transactions from some sort of online casino.
