Title: Which client you prefer for a safe wallet -offline on bootable usb flashdrive - Post by: neotenie on April 15, 2013, 03:33:21 PM Hi dear people,
Which client you prefer for a safe wallet -offline on bootable usb flash drive with ubuntu -? Does it matter at all? I'm hesitating between electrum and bitcoin-Qt, I read informations about it - https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Clients- but didn't really understand what that all mean. So, I'm still undecided. Thanks for your thoughts! Neo Title: Re: Which client you prefer for a safe wallet -offline on bootable usb flashdrive - Post by: Gabi on April 15, 2013, 03:37:32 PM Both are ok. Bitcoin-qt is a full node client so it will download the whole blockchain, 8GB :D

Tons of wrong things :-\ Title: Re: Which client you prefer for a safe wallet -offline on bootable usb flashdrive - Post by: neotenie on April 15, 2013, 03:44:37 PM That page is epic outdated anyway. Tons of things, maturity is back at 2011. The "no backup" thing doesn't make sense

I was just searching for clarity about clients and looked in the bitcoin wiki page. I thought it was regularly actualized. Multibit and Electrum only download some megabytes and have a good interface

No idea what the colors mean or the no back-up or minimal security. Thanks, I'm gonna try electrum! Neo |
