What's different?

• More coins emitted to account for the default 4 decimal places (Although the first 1500 blocks emit only 1 coin to account for the slow start).
• Account generation is quadrupled on the first 1500 blocks, so there's no unfortunate events of accounts drying out or selling because they're scarce.
• Enhancements on the configuration code.
• More interesting stuff to come

The miner has been included in the download file to allow for faster time to mine.

How did you get the genesis block to work?

Don't have a windows box handy atm... i'm doing it into a remote one but it's taking a lot of time there.


On UConst.pas you change 'CT_Genesis_Magic_String_For_Old_Block_Hash' to your own message, empty the 'CT_Zero_Block_Proof_of_work_in_Hexa' (as in empty string) and then mine the first block. On your logs you'll see the PoW outputted that you can copy & paste into 'UConst.pas'.

Name could be little different while using the same code as pascal .... its just not smart like coping doge or lite ... sounds dump like litedogecoin or blackcoindark

If you have it compiled please upload it and post link so everyone can have wallets. I know i botched the fact that i didn't release the windows wallet, but i just don't have windows stuff around.

It should compile a-ok tho. I'll try to compile and get an official windows release handy.

By the way your coin seems forked or something. You should do a fair relaunch at least, over 800 blocks found in like 1 hour.

Point your miner to the RPC port you selected (instead of 4009 for regular Pascalcoin).

Happens when one miner has system time slightly ahead of time, should autocorrect itself.


This happens too in the upstream code, you have to open the ports to your mining box.


I'm working in this with another dev, but we don't have anything to do with either the original upstream dev or the other fork.

There is no point in 2 of these exact clones being launched. Can you fix your forked chain and make it a fair launch and i will cancel my coin.

Also make the initial difficulty like 26XXXXXX instead of 19XXXXXX because 1000 blocks will get solved in the first hour or so and create all these orphans and broken chains.

So far I mined 31% of the coins and I'd much rather see a fork that has less coins and more importantly fewer addresses.

Each block gives 25 addresses for no reason so there won't be any scarcity at all.

How much more will be similar clones? Popularity of Pascal coin has passed, it is necessary to wait for a new coin with a new algorithm. What price will be this fork?

Sounds like a plan... i will make also low emission blocks, say the first 1000, so they don't get insta-mined.

Maybe will change the account emission curve, so we get a lot of new accounts the first low emission blocks to give out to early adopters that don't have mining capacity.

Testing new binaries, settled on 1500 blocks for low reward, 20 accounts per block on those first 1500 (so we get 30k accounts, more than enough to faucet off).

Initial difficulty will be 0x23000000 (0x26... seems too high due to the low reward period).

Hope your launch goes better than mine. I got people cheating by setting their clock ahead by a minute or two and preventing others from mining.

Yeah original pascal had it all along but the hashrate was bigger so it wasnt much of an issue.

Basically you can stall the network by attaching a weird timestamp to the last block, and the client assumes that it is behind the tip by a fair amount, this means that someone with enough hashpower could 51% attack the network and stall it forever mining blocks and releasing them when the timestamp of their finishes... or someone more crafty comes along and attaches a timestamp even further in the future.

Turbo pascal, pascal lite, pascal classic... too many shit clone are appearing at this time. This plague is being so terrible. a lot of the people will follow this soon.

I like this trend, better than hundreds of Scrypt coins every day...  :)

@OP: Why did you include the sgminer in the OP? From what I understand you can't solo mine with it or has someone succeeded in doing so?

It´s going to be a competition which version becomes the classic to ones Eth/Zcash..

Couldn't having a bunch of nodes prevent that? I'd assume the nodes would have some sort of consensus on what is the precise time discarding miners who try to cheat.

This coin first launched with 2 nodes, not just one like the other coin and as far as I know this one didn't suffer from the attack, but I could be wrong.

Whatever the case might be, depending on local timestamps seems like a pretty dumb idea.

As the dev that got contracted to do work on this clone (which i was reluctant at first, sorry olamorr, gotta be honest) the upstream code seems very clean compared to a Bitcoin <= v0.9 (which was a horrible mess imho).

There are some mid/long term goals on this coin i like (which aren't my responsability to talk about)... let's see if this shitcoin sticks :P

More nodes are useless, Pascal Lite has over 100 and is still being attacked (although it has much lower impact now), it is the wallet that refuses to submit blocks when there is a "newer" one. Obviously a bug in the code.

Indeed, there's a sore need of better time drift management in the wallet. Workin' at it these days before the relaunch.

The "attack" per-se is also passive, if someone got a mis-configured rig with a bad clock then it will "attack" the network by submitting offending blocks.

Pretty dumb that part, really.

Setting up dev environment atm, the chain is stopped until we get full windows wallet compiled from the get go.

50MH/s with the V2 miner, 290MH/s with the sgminer... (Radeon 6950). The first miner (with the proxy) just crashes.

Seems when you mine a block, and it matures, you can't actually use that wallet. All the coins seem lost.

Btw, the error message still appears when clicking the account explorer, but wallet is functioning properly (it's just an error that slipped on an "if"). We will have a fix today later.

The account emission curve changed, so there was multiple places in the code to change.

this time a new error, no blockchain and i can't catch up, it say found block 485 wait until downloaded

only works on win over bit 32, is there any other way to run it on an old computer?

Be sure that port 14005 is reachable on your wallet box (still no upnp as upstream doesn't has it, will get that into the wallet eventually).

@doktor1897 not sure what you mean? if it works on win on 32 bits it should work on old computers.... but i sincerely haven't tested it on 32 bit machine (all my installs are 64 bit)

What a pascal. ETH will go that way. But as I learned from my friends, More profitable than ZEC.. Think bide is turbo.

Block 481 was a hard one as it seems a lot of miners dropped before that (due to the wallet bug).

Our nodes are now at block 490... chugging slowly because of the high difficulty.

Correction: It seems only the seed nodes are progressing.... on the old client version.... Seems like we need a chain reset again due to the accounts bug....

I think all of this pascal algo coins is a waste of electricity when you mine solo because of the bugs and errors issue.... It's not advisable with small miners.. Better to mine it in pool. I think I will wait for the pool to become available..

Ok, let's do this: i'll wait this one out so we can fix the coin till we get stable mining. There seems to be a bug in the account generation code that's preventing from the chain reaching consensus.

No one will make a pool for the coins, which will not live a month.

it can not be possible in space or in any ideal world ..anyhow a great work is required for accomplish it.
