Title: First investments in bitcoins
Post by: simadr on February 03, 2017, 06:57:36 PM
Hi everybody, I am quite new in this new market and have a lot of interest in it. After advices from friends, i have put some money in Ethereum by the fact that i like their project which has a global view on the world. Moreover, i have also put some money in Monero.

Now, i am confused to invest in the long run for some bitcoins. Why ? Because prices are already really high but after reading a lot analysis, predictions are quite high.
What do you think about investment in some bitcoins at this high Price ? Thanks guys

Hmm.
I personally have never bought when Bitcoin price is over the $1,000 mark.
I always prefer to wait until it goes down to $700 - $850 range or even lower before I start buying.

I'm just not too keen on taking chances, especially when prices are already that high. Based on previous precedents, it's around this range that most people start massive selling, therefore resulting in quick dives.  ;D Of course there's always the chance that this time, it'll go up up up.  ;D

Anyway, that's just me.

You should dont hurry, read a lot and think about it.

I think that the price now is high because its an atm. but in long term the price is very cheap imo,
i think that we will see in 5 year prices over 20.000 Dollar for 1 bitcoin, i would invest.

Ok thanks, i will already have checked a lot and will continue to do so. However, as you said nobody can predict prices although  economics conflicts in the general market can shape its prices...

Bitcoin price will keep rising, but sometimes get corrections. If you feel that it's worth to buy bitcoin at this price level, than just buy some amount, you won't loss as the price hike is inevitable, bitcoin will slowly or rush increasing.
I always thought that bitcoin at higher price will affect investors and new users to join in, they will consider how about if the price suddenly drop in the next day, and people with average income can't afford to buy bitcoin.

Regardless the amount bitcoin it will always be a good idea to invest on it. Since you do have Ethereum and Monero why not invest to the father of all coins. If you still have enough money for investing to bitcoins then just invest and don't doubt it or if you don't have enough funds you can just simply all your ETH's and Monero.

Yeah i totally agree with you, i don't say about years or few years again but and based my analysis although bitcoin price is around 1000 dollars now, it's possible to touch 1100 dollars in near time. Investing your money in bitcoin is still profitable now, it is increasing slowly to 1100 dollars with down few percent sometimes, keep optimism that the price will touch 1100 dollars.

I would suggest you to try to invest in some coins. Any of them can pump in future and you can became a millionaire the same way as those people who bought bitcoin with very low price in the most beginning.

Yes, small thing or small capital can lead to large amount to earn, we need to be in the right track, and we need to use our time. Some coins are having a highest value, we should know what are the things to consider while investing, if we can earn? or if can only lose our money. This questions are needed to harvest or to earn a lot of money. Having coins with high value are the best that we should invest on.

I'm pretty sure that last year people used to say don't buy you'll lose just wait for the price to go under $400 again.
Now people saying don't buy wait for price below $800, you see the irony?

The best thing to do as an investor is to wait the right timing, right now it does not seem like the best moment to buy unless you are really thinking of holding your bitcoin for a long time and you don't care about rapid profits.

some newbies take initiation in crypto with alts, but I wouдd recommend to start with real money (Bitcoin) at the begining. With alts you are highly probable to lost you money and get dissapointed in crypto

I think there is always time to invest. Let me ask you OP, why do you think that the price is high? There are shares on the market worth more than $1000, so what makes bitcoin look like it's already peaking?
Probably the fact that it started low and went high across the years, unlike some companies that issue shares when they are already becoming big. When Bitcoin reaches $2000 you will say today was a good moment to buy. ;)

You invested in Monero and Ethereum over Bitcoin? Your friends really mush have love these coins, because it is not the best way to locate your money.
Monero was growing rapidly and price was rising as a result, but it will end, as long as Monero will continue to grow it will call attention from authorities.
There is no way that fully anonymous coin will be used as payment method in the future, the bigger monero will grow - the harder it will fall destroyed by future legal issues.
It will be forever main currency of dark markets which will limit its potential to grow.

it is pretty simple: bitcoin price will continue to go up, even if it is high in your eyes now. a while later it will be $1500 and then $2000 and then $4000 and so on. and you will keep saying price is high.

mean while altcoins like ethereum are falling hard. their price is 0.03BTC and then 0.02 and then 0.01 and keep falling and in a year or two the price will be 0.0001BTC and you are still saying bitcoin price is high.

I dont invest to any altcoins at the moment only in bitcoins because for me bitcoins are the only crypto currency worth investing. Alt coins are popping anywhere so its really hard to choose which one is the best alternative. Though I started with small capital but so far yields are really good so I'm sticking with bitcoins.

If you want to invest in bitcoin even if it is long term investment just wait until the price was below 700$ since in these price ranges, commonly many holders dump all the coin they got to buy cheaper. Just wait for a good price to come before buying and sell when there's a good pump and buy when there's a dump and repeat the process over and over.

There are a lot of different variables that should be applied to the Bitcoin market, and even though the value is high already there is no harm in putting something like $20 in and making whatever money you do off of it. Just don't really expect to own whole bitcoins from the get-go if you are unable to afford it.

As for the market itself, it's like anything else. Buy low, sell high, watch for troughs and crashes. Bitcoin is too strong to die from any sort of crash at this point, to my knowledge, and it has remained incredibly resilient and is on its way to push the ATH soon.

You don't need to be confuse regarding about investing some coins, even bitcoin for now is high but still we can wait. But as of this moment we can shift to buy some coins that are cheap but it has a potential project. While we wait for the bitcoin value decrease, for us to earn more likely in bitcoin and that was altcoin purpose all about. This is just my thought nothing else.

At this moment, I advice to you that wait the price to dump before you buy bitcoin. Yup, Its high price at now but surely when it pumps there's a dump and wait it to happen.Just wait it till the best price to buy. That's the best time to invest your money in Bitcoin. Investing in Bitcoin is not confusing because it has a good potential that many will accept it sooner or later.

although there is a great potential in the price of bitcoin but actually when the price of bitcoin cross 1000 USD level it has a great psychological effect on our mind and we consider the price a little high and in fact the selling ration increase when the price hit 1000 USD, it always get a great resistance to increase, but once when it will cross the 1200 USD level then it will skyrocket and will even cross 1500 USD.

You're already doing the right thing, keep it up and don't change. Keep mining ethereum and Monero and sell them for bitcoins, that's your only feasible way out. You can't invest in Bitcoin straight away through mining unless you perhaps buy them and store with the hope of prices increase else you're better of mining Alts and selling for BTC.

Go by the mantra "Sell high, buy low". Whenever it reaches a price that is "too good to be true" that's the time to prepare your funds. Wait for it to crash, then buy. If you like, you can wait a bit more to let the more anxious ones sell off to see how low it will get. Now that you've got bitcoins, if you are planning to convert it to fiat, the tricky part is when to sell. Nobody said it was easy. :D

If you are in for the long haul you can just leave it there - through the busts and booms. I you think you've become knowledgeable enough, you can use the profits for other stuff like trading.

Regardless if the price is high or not the prices of bitcoin doesn't matter because it will still rise in the future. However, buying monero now is really a great opportunity as bitcoins will probably drop in price in the future and it will correct similar to what happened last month. So maybe you can balance it. Once bitcoins drop in price and monero pumps, sell off your monero and buy bitcoins. This is easier if you put your coins on an exchange like poloniex. Good luck OP!

If you believe the price will rise in the future it does not matter if you want to buy now. You will be investing in the long term so it does not matter if you buy now because bitcoin prices continue to grow. But if you want to be patient maybe is better wait when the price goes down (maybe under $ 1,000), it will maximize profits in the future.

The problem is that you never know if will ever be as cheap as it is today.
Of course 1000$ sounds high, but it can really happen that bitcoin will stay above that level in the future.
The long term predictions of many people point to an ongoing upwards trend of bitcoin price.
With bitcoin it's like with every other investmen: you gather information, draw a conclusion and react on that.

Yes bitcoins price is already high but you can just buy any amount of bitcoins that is worth your money. You does not need to buy 1 bitcoin since you can also buy 0.1 btc or much lesser. If you invest in bitcoin you will not regret it since its trend is always going up in value. If you will not invest in bitcoin right now then you will regret it later when another price increase will happen.

When you are considering about future prices of bitcoins, this is not a high price to invest into bitcoins. There will be lot of potential bitcoin have to unveil in upcoming days. The only requirement bitcoin yet to get is mass adoption if you start initializing that from now onward, then more people may follow you. Just remember, bitcoin may have millions of dollar value in near future. So, $1000 is not really a high price.

We have the same thinking. If I am still a newbie I will have doubts. Just looking at the really high price you will try to think if this bitcoin will still grow or will crash after a month or two.
You cant tell what will happen. That is why it is a good thing that I started from a lower price. The doubts are already out and you can think clearly and you have your own predictions by now.
You will need some advices from other friends who can talk to you physically and can take your doubts out. It is a big deal of money so be careful in making decision or you could just rely on your instincts.

It is no wise to buy or not buy Bitcoin based on others views. No one in this world is intelligent enough to predict the future of Bitcoin. Better start learning about Bitcoins, various ways to earn them and start making you free Bitcoins and based on your consciences decide when to buy them.

well you are correct its yourself should decide others advise can be take for good but if you will closely look with the certain movements right now you will be able to assess to yourself if you can take the risk or you will try to place your position, its about timing and self decision if you can take and willing to step forward you need to decide.

Well you are right with one thing. Its that Bitcoin prices are already high or at least high enough for people who want to buy more Bitcoin won't profit from it. So that is why they will just wait for it to come back in price which is comfortable to them and that is about 700-800$ range. The price of Bitcoin which is above 1000$ if you bought now you won't expect to gain anything from it.

The price of bitcoin now is really great, but buying bitcoin at this moment if you want to invest is quite impractical to do. If I were you, I would simply study first about trading and investing while doing some research and ask the experts the right thing to do. But, if you really wanted to invest and you are a risk taker person, then push! Just make sure that you are willing to lose sometimes.

So the one who is still buying bitcoins at the current price rate are doing impractical thing? Look at the buying volume, there are lots.

Thanks for them why we are here in the price like this today. If most of the bitcoin users will think of that so much regret we will never see a pump and can even passed what the price is sitting today. :)

I am not saying that don't buy for now, but a bit of advice, if I were you I'll just wait for some time to invest, the right time. And that right time is if you are ready to lose some and gain some. Buy for just an appropriate volume, since we have high price for now then just to try buy few only, so you can see and study the movement of it. Monitor and add another of it when the price goes down.

What do you think about investment in some bitcoins at this high Price ? Thanks guys

You think that this price is already high, wait for 10 more years and you'll regret not investing today. This is the present and this is your only chance to get bitcoin at 1000$ each. Bitcoin was designed for the price of it to increase over time. You said you're in this in the long run, why even care if the price is relatively high now.

When we were back at 600$, 700$, 800$, people must be thinking that the price was "high" and that they shouldn't invest yet and wait for a lower price. Look what happened to them, they ended up buying at an even higher price since bitcoin has increased. The people that had the guts to invest in bitcoin at that time has already made profit. Maybe that can be a good example but I'm not in any way trying to persuade you to invest bitcoins.

Yes, you are essentially right, however you need to take into account that the price never moves in a straight line and it is for sure that we will see a lot of pumps and dumps in the process. So I would prefer to take advantage of next correction to buy more coins instead of buying right now when the price is really high compared to recent days.

Investing in bitcoin is a great move, maybe you see the price is already high but actually it can rise even higher, most of us believed for the next year bitcoin can rise until more than 1200$, so if you have spare money you can invest in bitcoin, the bitcoin profit potential is better than investing in alt coin

if you make investing bitcoin for now, i think you will not regret it but maybe you will if the price is come back in $700 but there is small chance to reach that price but we can not denied that the possibility is always there. i think its good if you want to investing your money in some bitcoin and you can use that bitcoin for many purpose to make your bitcoin grow like doing trading, investing in another programs, for playing gambling maybe.

We may reach new platitude of price very soon. There are events which will easily give us the new ATH.

Winklevoss ETF will change history of bitcoin, it will be the biggest positive project in bitcoin's history.
All we need is to wait for ETF approval from the Securities Exchange Commission. Even if SEC won't approve ETF, until March 11 we will have pretty bullish trend going on.

I'm still waiting for MegaUpload 2.0 but since Kim DotCom is having constant series of unfortunate events and legal issues I doubt we will see this project soon.

Risk on lossing money on bitcoin is always there since all of types of investments does really involve some risk on losing on your money.Bitcoin price really decreases but we should really not need to panic instead we should wait because bitcoins price would really go up no matter what.

for me its a matter of time and trust if you want to put your money into something you should know that you are needed to take more time to study and to assess whether its economical or not with bitcoin really making its move to rally up better to double check if how long you are willing to hold and wait and never ever sell it if you are still at loss anything can happen with bitcoin investment.

Yes, a well potential based investment opportunity, never will find an exhausted levels over time. Because growth potential will be unlimited as long as there would be some demand for it. This is what actually happening with bitcoin investments so we never need to worry about the higher prices to invest at right now.

We can keep our trust on bitcoins and we keep on investing more into it.

I agree with you, and at this time, we must start to invest regardless of the amount we have. Bitcoin will continue to progress and we can continue to save as well. The earnings are unlimited if we continue to hold bitcoin, and for sure if you will educate yourself more and be updated withe the development, that will convince you to stay and hold. You will be able to sell then with a good profit.

There are a lot of online casinos that do those kinds of stuff. It is sort of investing in them, where you earn while they earn, but you also lose when the house lose. If that's a risk that you can take, I am sure the rewards are also ok. Just invest a small amount at first and if you feel that the risk is worth it, you can gradually increase your investments.

I guess there's nothing wrong with it. if you believe that the investment that would be useful, then do it. it is tantamount to saving bitcoin that we had when the price becomes higher. if you believe in bitcoin, then the price is not to be something that needs attention all the time. there are times when you think to develop a business that you have, so you can have a lot of bitcoin.

Just because when you come to invest and the price is too high according to you, it's not the real reason to not invest on it. In 2011 the price is under $500 and at that time the price is too high for someone who new to this. If you know what I mean.

Don't get confused because bitcoin is the most worth investment in crypto currency and if you are going to hold and invest in it today.

You are not going to regret it just like me, I do feel some doubt upon investing in bitcoin and thinks that the price will decrease upon buying it at high price way back a few months ago.

But I just do believed that it will pump just like its scheme that will keep on pumping, and I wasn't wrong with it, it's worth it.

I will suggest not to buy bitcoin because if you will buy bitcoin then there are more less chances to get profit , but suppose if you made buy of bitcoin than you can't make much profit from it because the price can't cross more than $1200/btc ( it my strong thinking ).
So I will suggest to keep buying altcoins like edr ,xmr , ETH ,dash( currently price is high ) , Putin , trump , blry etc these altcoins are developed more in recent years .
I will suggest to trade at poloniex which us more active than any other exchange .

because you're plans is a long term goal then definitely a good choice. Goodluck!!!

Yes bitcoin price is now very high. But bitcoin is still the best cryptocurrency. Others haven't shown such great price growth results.  And yet I think bitcoin will fall in price, I don't believe it won't drop below $900 anymore. Now you can just analyze statistics and write more on this forum and after some time you will be able not to buy but to earn btc by working for a signature campaign.

Nothing too late to buy and too late to hold because we are all thinking that bitcoins would run for decades or even centuries. We all see bitcoin as a long term investment instead of a bubble. To me, all types of investment is a bubble that can pop at any given time.

You might be able to think that you're going to live long and treat bitcoin as a long term investment but I really think that it's all about timing. Those people that bought bitcoins back then at 1,200$, they are all still waiting for the price to go higher than that so they can finally sell their coins. They might be thinking that the price is going high at that point so it must continue going high. This is the illusion that the concept of ATH has given us. In reality, everything that goes up will eventually go down. It will go down hard.

In 2016 it was below $500 and you could get a ton load of bitcoins at that price in 2011  :P For every investment you must choose a good entry point and with bitcoin you could see a correction after a big rally and that is the perfect time to enter bitcoin if you are planning to make some profits.

it is honestly too weird to see someone new to all of this, invest in altcoins first before even having bitcoin!
you gave up gold to get silver and bronze!

as you can see these altcoins, specially ethereum which has not many real world applications are falling while bitcoin price is rising. as a beginner i always advise people to invest in bitcoin primarily and then if they wanted to take bigger risks, invest in altcoins.

Bitcoin must be the best way to earn fast profit, deciding to buy bitcoin is already and investment in itself, if you buy at a low price you have the opportunity to make profit when the price goes up again, since the bitcoin price is not that stable means that it goes up and down relatively in a decent time that allows you to buy at a low price and sell at a higher one.

Actually, bitcoin as a form of investment isn't really that different from other commodities or currencies. Gold and other precious metals have the same scenarios... there isn't really a "wrong" time to buy if it meets your usually long term requirements.

Just over ten years ago people said $300 was too much for gold and look at how it is today. Hindsight is unpleasant.

Investing in bitcoin is risky like in any other thing, gold, shares, real estates or something else. But if you are a long term investor and with bitcoin that is the best option, you will probably make profit no matter the time when you have bought bitcoins. And at the moment bitcoin is one of the most desireable investments.

i think its still worth to invest in bitcoin and you don't need to buy for 1 bitcoin but you can invest in whatever amount that you want even for small amount. bitcoin is not the same as other investments and you can hold it for long term and if you think the price is high for you then you can sold your bitcoin to make money. i think its better if you only hold bitcoin than hold ethereum or monero or the others because sometimes altcoin will be down if bitcoin price is getting increase so better to save bitcoin.

You will read many opinions; at first, because any opinion is free and secondly is easy for everyone to give you one. From my point of view not all eggs in one basket. As you said in the recent past you invested some fiat to monero and eth. That's a good movement and maybe you could invest again some in other altcoins after your own research. As far as the bitcoin I agree that it's an investment in the long run because is the leader and has the biggest user base. As regards the price depends what means the long run for you. Nowadays taking into account the prices all of these years anybody will say that is high but when price was about $600 and doubled people said the same thing. The final decision is always yours

Investing in altcoins is really a hard thing to do. When bitcoin prices drop alt coins really soar high but when bitcoins goes up every altcoins go down. So it is really a hard trade off. You have to time everything right. When the price of bitcoin is really high, buy altcoins then when the bitcoin prices goes down convert it to altcoins and just rinse and repeat. You have to know when to do it, and that is where experience and skill comes in.

I actually agree with most analysis saying that it's a good time to buy now. We've been hovering around and above 1000 dollars for quite some time now and the situation is different from last time prices have been that high.

For me personally, it's a pretty comfortable BUY at this point.

I remembered my first investment in bitcoin where i scammed by ponzi scheme i can't imagine that i put all my money there im just being greedy to wealth where i think i can get profit there instantly by just sitting in front of my computer but all worthless it all thought and never will happened i just lost approximately around 1 bitcoin all in all now im just inveting on icos where i knw my money will grow :)

Good to know you've learnt never to play with those ponzi scams... you might as well gamble if you want to take your chances with money you can afford to lose, at least you know what you're up against.

A word of caution with ICO ventures - don't put your coins in one ICO. Basic rule of investment!

Thanks guys

Its a good thing that you know how to listen to your friend's advice on which you think is right. Investing in ETH and monero is not bad, is actually good. Investing other coins(altcoin) is an alternative way for us to have bitcoin in the long run, that's why altcoin is there to help us to have bitcoin in the near future.

I think the value of Bitcoin is still a bit stretched, but I've learned to never bet against Bitcoin ... In a little while it rises and never comes back to that value and you regret it. You do not have to buy it at once, just go and buy it little by little and you get an average value.

Dude, this is bitcoin. It is not same with any other kind of investment. There is nothing is too late to buy and hold bitcoin. Just because when you come to invest and the price is too high according to you, it's not the real reason to not invest on it. In 2011 the price is under $500 and at that time the price is too high for someone who new to this. If you know what I mean.
Yes, very nice thing to encourage new investor. And yes, it is not too late invest now, and you really feel that it is too high now but then soonest or in the future it will go more higher than what we have now and might double it up so it is not late .

Current price of bitcoin looks go up, I'm sure if we buy now then we can still get benefits in the future. I'm very optimistic that the price bitcoin could reach $3.000 on this year. And only with buy and hold bitcoin then we will get profit.

But since monero solves a very specific issue that bitcoin does not then it means there is going to be a market for it, no matter what happens, besides the anonymity given by monero can be used not only for those that want to hide shady deals but by everyone since many exchanges are refusing to accept coins that come from gambling and monero does not allow them to do that.

I'm pretty sure that last year people used to say don't buy you'll lose just wait for the price to go under $400 again.
Now people saying don't buy wait for price below $800, you see the irony?

People wants to purchase bitcoin in a lower price. When the price of bitcoin decreased, they are still waiting for  further lower prices until no longer able to invest because the price is already high.

Glad to see another new user join in the forum and look after bitcoin investment.
I know higher price of bitcoin will be another problem for average income of people which can't afford to buy decent amount of bitcoin, but it will be a great investment in the future, consider the wallet as your savings account but free from any taxes or administration charge. I believe bitcoin will continue to increase (adopters and price), you won't regret it.

You don't need to invest in Bitcoin mines pal, just keep doing what you're doing-mine Altcoins and sell them for bitcoins. It's pretty simple, you should likewise read on the forum for more ideas in different threads that may assist you.

Your own is even better as you are able to surround yourself with calibre of people who are knowledgeable about how the crypto works and I must say that their advice is not all bad but just be sure that no investment whatsoever is risk free. In my own case, I learned the hard way by having to fall prey of hyip before finding out about the forum and get to know I have been foolish when I thought I was smart.

Well i think it would've been better if you were a bit early in your btc investment. even me, i'd be thinking really hard right now to puchase bitcoins with the price this high. i still have a lot of btcs i'm holding on right now and i don't think i'm that confident on buying btcs. i think i'll just hold on to what i currently have and then wait a couple of months as i'm sure the price would go down also. if you ask me, i won't be buying any bitcoins at the moment, try to focus on other altcoins first as i think now is selling or holding time

My first investment in bitcoins was in a cloud mining firm. After investing in one cloud mining , again I invested money in other two cloud mining firms to get more bitcoins. But after investing money in the other two firms , their site suddenly went down. It was during the bitcoin halving time. One was hashocean and the other was a cloud mining firm called topmine. I lost all the money invested in these two sites. But the first site is still paying me but their payment is really very low. These were my first investments.

When bitcoin prices are high, I don't really dare to buy bitcoin over $1000. but usually when bitcoin prices are high, other currencies (altcoins) is usually the price is down and it's a good time for investment. so many altcoin and you have to be smart in choosing, ETH and Monero one of the best I believe with the coins.

Before decide to invest , just make sure that you prepare for losing because as we know bitcoin is risky investment especially altcoin trading.
Bitcoin is a world that full of unexpected thing , riskier compare live gambling but they have potential for who want to make huge profit if you keep invest on bitcoin on next few year

I would say that investing in bitcoins is risky but it is not that risky that you can compare it to gambling. You still have a level of control in bitcoin investments, generally buying and selling bitcoins is profitable if you know how to time it right. That takes experience and knowledge to do it.

Don’t rush it the most important thing is to keep yourself informed and this forum is a good source of information, wait take some time, a few weeks or months and try to see for yourself the movement of the bitcoin price, finally when it reaches a low enough price for you buy as much as you can and then wait for the right opportunity to sell.

Indeed, you must learn how things work first before you first dive into it. But, I think it is still a great way to learn when you're actually already into it. Investing and trading cannot be learned just by studying theories and reading about it, you will not achieve anything there. Go do it and experience it for yourself and you will learn more than what the books tell you.

There are moments to buy, to hold or to sell, right now it seems it is a good time to just hold our coins or if you need to sell, the price is just to high right now if you are planning to get some profits fast, I will only recommend buying if you are planning to hold for several years.

Hey mate, it is not that easy to indulge yourself into something that makes you only curious, in investing money and time you need passion to it. It might not that easy to have but as the time goes by when your passion really drives you to success then it is good.
You also need that some learning to get from your advisers and friends out there, they might help you on that, then in some research.
But as above posted, it is better to experience it by your own not relaying yourself to other’s experience because maybe your fate is different from theirs, but it is good to collect some ideas on how to grow and start on.

The best time for buying it was awhile back in January where is drop back to 700$. This assures you that you are in a safe position to wait for it to grow.

This was a very nice investiing strategy, buying bitcoin in the 2014, because if you really hold on to your coin up to know for sure you are totally having fun on looking at your wallet.
Because its value is not only doubled but almost quadruple now and still growing up. I was invested small amount of bitcoin it was less than 1 btc but then I was tempted to get the money and sell it to fiat when it grew up.

I also think that avoid being in a hurry is an important thing to learn, because in this market you have to take time to analyze each investment and every move. And when it comes to altcoins market, the investor is trading digital assets that have high volatility, some have sharp price declines and can take months, or years to recover, and that is one reason why this market requires good analysis to make the best decisions.

You right, and now the price is very expensive. The first time I know bitcoin is about 1 year ago, when it was priced around $280 bitcoin. That time I bought about 5 btc and I invested into some cloud mining programs like Hashocean, CLDMine, Topmine and so on. When I get the payment, I'm very sure that cloud mining very promising, so I bought 10 btc in April 2016 to invest again. But that happened was in July is all cloud mining closed so that I lose about 6 btc.

You can't really tell when that dip will occur, wether you are a professional trader or not. Bitcoin is unpredictable, you don't know what will happen soon. Part of it, I'm still glad that it does run so good. Don't miss its oppurtunity, it only knock ones. Use bitcoin since it has a good platform. Yes. Bitcoin is unpredictable, you do not know the next second it will rise or fall. Of course, $1000 may be a bit high, but if you miss now, perhaps bitcoin will rise, even if it will not fall below $1000. Everything is speculation. My view is that bitcoin is a good product of long-term investment, it is worth buying.

Before you start investing, you need to know more about investment to prevent failure and end to lose your money. Investor must be have an experienced in trading because some company, in the few day they will pay and after a several days they will run. That is the reason why you need to have an experienced in investing. But the investment site in this forum is very trusted, so don't worry.

Now, i am confused to invest in the long run for some bitcoins. Why ? Because prices are already really high but after reading a lot analysis, predictions are quite high.
What do you think about investment in some bitcoins at this high Price ? Thanks guys

I don't see any wrong to your friend's advice, they gave you a good advice actually. Though the price was so high anyhow, but still a good assets investment, if you want to explore  more things about investing in some other coins you can check coinmarketcap.com on which coins for you is the best to invest in.

You forgot to see the essence of positioning in your investments which is an essential part of any part of profit taking. As you can see Bitcoin's price is way to high to buy more Bitcoin. The best time for buying it was awhile back in January where is drop back to 700$. This assures you that you are in a safe position to wait for it to grow.
Yes, right now the right move is to wait, you cannot buy more bitcoin because if you do and there is a price drop then you run the risk of selling at a loss or you will have to wait until a price increase and by the time it happens you will probably just want your money back.

So better to invest on bitcoin rather than other crypto. Unless they keep on trading it and try to earn more and more may be he can still get some of the altcoin

it is totally great dude. Most of the people do not have good profit in ICO because there are too many junk ICO out there and they always lose their money. It is really good to see someone can earn good money with these projects

I am not sure if gambling is also deemed as an investment because that's where my first bitcoins went to after coming into my wallet and more than just that, I won also so actually my first earnings were also from there.

Apart from that I then invested in a few site like one I remember was cex io and I am sorry for you mate that you got caught up early with the HYIPS and happy you learned rather than becoming dejected.

I think it is still good to invest in bitcoin, a lot of us sure that bitcoin will keep on rising, 1000$ is a bit high to buy, but if you have a spare money, i think it is still worth to invest into bitcoin.
you can follow below tips to avoid risk:

1. Don’t fall in trap with binary tree business model. It will haunt you in making members more than bitcoin mining!

2. Go for transparent system. Contracts and fees should be published publicly. Not like someone giving you by mail in person.

3. Always run background check on owner of cloud mining. They should be verifiable identities.

4. Check customer support, how promptly they respond and how detailed and genuine information they provide.

It's quite confusing to decide buy at high price as the price could fall in the next day or next week. Depends on your investment purposes, is it for trade or hold it for long term. Buy at cheaper price and sell at higher levels to get profits, don't buy at ATH when people talking about it, when price soars. But, current price already set above $1000, should we wait until crash happen? Nope, wait until ETF get rejected by SEC, then the price will be fall again.

I will suggest you not to buy at the current price because it is already at the peak which was like dream for the bitcoin  to reach .
Currently the bitcoin at very high rate so I will advise to to keep patience for some weeks or day if it's price comes at 700-800$ per bitcoin then you should buy bitcoin .
If the price didn't go back then buy some popular altcoins like Trump , blry , Putin ,. ETH etc These will surely give profit after a long time hold .
Second thing you should do that to make day trading with Bitcoin ( I mean daily small buy and sell ) in this way you will be able to make some better profit through buy sell in some days .

In short: if you have bitcoins, just hold them as long as possible; don't trade inside of the day; ignore the news. I already become to stay part of my bitcoins on side, and I plan to sell it only when the price for bitcoin will cross the point of 5000$.
Other variant if you are technically competent expert, you may wish to bet on the newly created cryptocurrency. Open this position only for a short time and only in the most beginning. This behavior is rather a speculation than wise investment. You do so at your own risk. But it may bring you really good profit as I know.

Most of us are scared of losing our hard earned savings by making wrong investments but as it has mentioned above it's better to start with minimal investment and make profit out of it and keep following the cycle until you can buy an entire bitcoin then make more progress like trading or gambling (i won't suggest gambling from my personal point of view) start with little and make it bigger so that you do not end up losing your hard earned money.

My first investment was not in bitcoin but through bitcoin I have invested in altcoins or to be exactly in ICONOMI, but now I'm thinking of ByteBall.

Bitcoin price at this stage (higher than many months ago) is not bad for investment, but the risk to lose is higher than ever.

Because the price is very high and if the price crashes you have the chances to lose more but the "risk" to earn more are almost the same as before as the price can be increased gradually as it happened recently.

Gambling is a best way to loose money so if you want to experience the disappointment of loosing then you can go for it or simply stay away from it and comparatively trading is much better way to multiply your bitcoins and earn some descent profits which may not be possible with gambling for sure.

That's not always the case.  Gambling is a poor idea if you're trying to earn profits because the odds will always be on the house's side (they have to make a profit, right?) but it's not the best way to lose money.  The best way to lose money is to keep it in fiat currency (just kidding).  Seriously, trading is not perfect and you can't expect returns all the time.  Many traders have to lose out for other people's profits, and it's the amateurs who try too early who suffer from this.

It's a good idea to invest but you have to think about it quite carefully.  You don't want to put in too much money and potentially lose it because you don't know well enough what to do with it.  But if you just buy it and hold it, the chances are that the price will go up eventually.  Just make sure you don't rush into things or take opportunities too short-term until you have more experience.

I wouldn't say that investing in Ethereum for the long term is a good idea, but sure if you believe that Ethereum is going to take off in the future, by all means invest in it. The worst thing you can do is to keep your fiat under your bed and not do anything with it.

Personally when I think of Ethereum I think of litecoins - litecoins were a sensation as well when it got out. Now it's dying.

The fact is that you cannot replicate the status of bitcoin being the first ever cryptocurrency. That status brings trust to people, even though nobody knows who satoshi is. If bitcoin didn't exist, then Ethereum wouldn't exist.

Bitcoin itself is an investment so instead of investing bitcoins anywhere its better to invest our money in bitcoins to get best returns in future as investing bitcoins online involves a huge risk as there is no guarantee that those sites will survive for a long term and will give regular profits and if you have enough bitcoins in your wallet then its better to hold them without investing anywhere.

I don't agree with you about Bitcoin being the best investment option out there. From what I know investments should be stable and it should not fluctuate negatively. Bitcoin on the other hand is not a stable kind of currency and has a tendency of its users to do panic selling which makes Bitcoin's price drop massively. We all know that price drops are good but for investors if they bought on the wrong price it will result into a loss.

This will depend upon you that with what speed you want to make profit Because in the bitcoin it is usually most of the times take more time to increase in the price but in such types of altcoins like ETH , monero  etc there are more chance to increase in price .
If you will select altcoins then your chances are more to make profit but if you will choose bitcoin then surely it will take more time to make some better profit .
Currently the price of the bitcoin is very high so I will suggest you to not to buy bitcoin . Try to buy some altcoins Because if you will buy bitcoin then it will take more time to make profit .

It's not necessarily altcoin = profit in short amount of time; bitcoin = profit in long time. It all depends on your timing. You can invest in altcoin and still don't get any profit at all after a couple of months of waiting because the coin is either already dead or don't have any user at all. Bitcoin, on the other hand, can also give you profit in short time when you invested at the right time.

The current price of bitcoin is high but I don't think the price will ever go back to less than $900. We've been here for a while now and if you don't invest at this price, you might regret it later.

Making an investment in Ethereum and Monero is a good option because in that date (February 4) the price was pretty low and i think that you already earned decent profit. In terms of long run or long term in bitcoin then it is still good to invest even the price was high because we are talking about long term and we already witnessed how the price amazed us in terms of long term price increase. So i think even the price is high for your point of view, you can still invest your money but invest the amount that you can afford to lose.

The price of Bitcoin will go up over time, but don't trust the predictions alone.  The predictions are mostly made by people with an agenda - either they're excessively optimistic about Bitcoin because they're in on it and want the price to go up, or they want the price to go down for a little while so that they can buy cheap.

It is very simple the logic was if the price value of bitcoin is getting higher it will automatically altcoins value will goes down, if bitcoin drop the price value then its altcoin turns to goes up so you don't need to get confuse okay.

Those kind of characteristic in prices is one of the best thing about the cryptoworld because there is always chance to make profit like in bitcoin if the bitcoin is very high then you can invest your bitcoins in altcoins because they are cheap and if bitcoin is very cheap then you can invest your money in bitcoin to get a lot of it and keep it for long term and be prepared for earning big amounts of money.

well im definitely buying bitcoin when its on around $500-$600 it that case i could actually earned a double amount of that money because when the price of bitcoin suddenly raise you could gain a lot of advantage on it. the profit you could earn on your own investment you could use it on trading or gambling whenever you want. but in my case when it drops on that price range im buying atleast one bitcoin and then wait till it grow up to $1000 then cash it out.

Nope, I wouldn't suggest to invest in bitcoin at preseny. Not at this point of time when bitcoin is trading at more then $1000. It is over priced. If you want to invest in bitcoins, wait for a good correction that is expected to happen soon.

Good Luck!

still good to invest since there's also an alt trading place so better to use your invested btc to alt trading and gain more while you are waiting for the value to rise, its the best way to make good profits coming from this investment the only thing or the hard part would be its needed a deep understanding and study to gain knowledge and start to earn.

What price is not overpriced? At $500, people say that we should wait a little longer so we can buy at $400. At $650, people say to wait so we can buy at $500. And now at $1200, it's still overpriced. No matter what price it is, people will say that bitcoin is overpriced but it's not. This is the price of bitcoin. There's no underpriced or overpriced in here because what you see is the actual value of bitcoins although all of these is just a speculative thing. No matter which price it is, low or high, it will still be a speculative thing.

If you're in this for the long run, you don't have to worry about losing all of your money because in the long run, bitcoin will increase. So even, let's say that $1200 is indeed "overpriced", when it gets a market correction, it will eventually go back anyway because that's how bitcoin was designed. To move upwards as time pass by.

More likely Id like to invest now in altcoins, you had a good choice to invest in Eth, Monero which is quite profitable. I wouldnt suggest to invest in bitcoin because of its price is high and we cannot predict its pump until to what its price. So, its good to invest in altcoins were for sure a profitable in the long run if we choose the right coin to invest in.

Bitcoin is having freedom of price! You can buy it at any time if you got fat wallet already. Otherwise try saving the bitcoins that you already own. Bitcoin however will keep growing in it's value day by day. If you really want to buy bitcoins try to buy when it drops $1000 mark (well which is may not be possible sooner or later!) But that is for our own good. As it gives assurance that bitcoin won't let us down in the trade market.

For you being new, bitcoin might be risky at first glance. But I have seen many seasons of bitcoin and what I learnt is, bitcoin has ability to climb high. And there are already lots of predictions that it might hit $2000 by the end of 2017 year. So you may wana pull your sleeves and keep an eye on the market. As soon as you think it is right time then you try to buy some bitcoins at cheaper rates. Advice: Try to earn bitcoins from the internet but make sure your internet and electricity bills maintained against what you really earning. About ether thing, it is is really hard now a days to mine with them. You can try to get free coins by doing simple jobs which is way more affordable.

:-)

Yes, some alternative coins showed very good growth last month. But do not forget that investing in them is even more risky than investing in bitcoin

Thanks guys
I think now buy bitcoin is inconsistent because the high price of bitcoin. A must buy if it is less than $1000 to rise again if the price you'll have a profit. So you should keep in watching the falling of bitcoin for you to buy at low prices.

My personal recommendation is to buy some bitcoin and invest it (whether its poloniex or casinos, find something appealing). I like watching my bitcoin wallet grow at the same time as the bitcoin price  ;D

For op, what makes you doubt to invest with bitcoin for a longer term. And as you did invested to ETH and monero, how come that you are thinking to invest to btc for a longer term. Of course go for it, bitcoin is the best investment for long term investments. Just like what you did to those 2 alt coins, just by some bitcoins that you afford and just hold it.

What if the price of bitcoin wont go down again on $1000 mark?and considering that these prices would be the new floor of bitcoin? You will surely regret on buying one thats why anytime would be the best time to buy bitcoin as much as we can but we should always seek for the most possible lowest price before buying one.

Yeah, right, in this time, should avoid to buy the bitcoin, because bitcoin is already in a high price, but wait for a time. Definitely bitcoin come back than buy the bitcoin. Because if we buy bitcoin in a high price then how could we earn profit from it? and also it is hard to gain profit from in this price $1225 of bitcoin.

if only i got 1 satoshi each time i hear or read this comment i would have been a billionaire right now :)
what most people forget and fail to realize is that price of today is the cheap price of tomorrow. right now you are looking at the price and think to your self "damn it is worth $1225" ,next month you look again and say "damn it is $1325" and a couple of months ago you looked at the chart and said "damn it is $900".
if you keep it up you will be left behind! and filled with regret

No, please look at a lot of the aspects on the bitcoin itself. too many problems on bitcoin right now. and anytime it can make you a big dip in the future. and i think too risky for buying bitcoin right now.
You must be careful with your amount. Analyzation is very important before doing anything.

With today's situation I guess I will stop buying them for now. I will buy once it falls back to 1000 dollar (as I'm posting at the time one btc equals 1900 dollars.) I would wait for sure. It may rise but it may fall below the expectations very fast so I don't want to take the risk at this time really. If I had lots of money and cost to bear the loss then I would have thought of investing in it.

What will make the price go down to $1000, I don't think the market is pricing in Bitcoin Unlimited hard fork into the price again. The only thing holding back BTC is the scaling issue and when this is solved expect the price to move to $10k.

What are you talking about? Bitcoin halving is on 2020 (Check here (http://www.bitcoinblockhalf.com/#)) We had bitcoin halving last year and obviously it's not going to happen every single year. Bitcoin halving doesn't necessarily double the price of bitcoin but it does help make bitcoin become more scarce which helps the price grow.

Every single altcoins are living in a bubble, just like bitcoins. You can buy them, make money from them but never ever blame the people that told you to do altcoin trading. Personally, I'm only selling my coins when I either need money or when I think the bubble is about to pop (the market is going to dump after a huge pump).

Bitcoin is standalone. It can grow like tree, slowly but very healthy and over the time it gets deep into the public like roots of tree. What I mean with this statement is I can trust bitcoin very much and spend my water to make it grow healthy. And I'm pretty sure it will give me back sweet fruits one day. Etherum is also good option and it has already shown its capabilities along with bitcoin. So, either way you can choose to put your money in but in any case bitcoin holds stringer position the market all the time.

Yes, some alternative coins showed very good growth last month. But do not forget that investing in them is even more risky than investing in bitcoin

If you will look at the charts you will notice that the trend on alternative coins are not that stable compare to bitcoin. Altcoins have more tendency to decrease in value than bitcoins. And so if you are not careful you will end up in the losing end instead of earning. Bitcoin is the best cryptocurrency since its value keeps going up and the moment its value rises the altcoin holders begins selling their coins.

Lets see what the future holds for the rest of the alt coins, some have upgraded their network and Etherum will gas out eventually when there are more users in the network, only time will tell whether they are able to upgrade the network with a suitable solution.
