Hey guys.... I tried using the site at swarm.city but none of the existing ARC token swap methods work for me as I believe it's because I hold my ARC in MyEthereWallet... what are the options for people like me with ARC in an Ethereum based wallet like Parity or MyEthereWallet? Thanks.

I saw that at the moment, you can use your mew private key in the terminal.

Call me paranoid / crazy but I just don't get the warm and fuzzies dropping my Eth private key in to a centralized web wallet when it contains other assets aside from Arc. Is there a point where we can redeem ARC for SWT via a smart contract we can send coins to? That would make me feel a lot better :) If that is the case I'll just wait for that, if not, I'll have to weight the risks to rewards...

It is not centralized as far as I know. Something like connecting gateways. But I don't have the tech knowledge on it.

It is understandable tho, because you just don't know how reliable it is, and new.

In the Swarm City Terninal, you also have a public key. So if you don't want to use your private key within the app, you can also just send your ARC to the public key in the wallet. Then the swap can still take place and you have brandnew SWT in the Swarm City Terminal.

The way i look at thing, boardwalk is the basic piece of swarm city. So it will not increase adoption yet, but it might increase the number of speculators.

Yup, there was no news, just falling based on technicals, and to me it looks like the technicals indicate things are about to shoot up.

I'm having problem selling my Swarm City coins today by using the wallet in the Swarm.city website.  Each time I tried to do it, it gives me an error saying to try again.  Anyone else having problem?  Seems odd that this problem occur while the price is dropping drastically.

• one of only working eth apps right now, that's valued at 34 billion
• this makes evaluation of 20m market cap a joke for a project of this scope

On what basis do you say that? They already have an early version of their working product and plenty of funds to develop it much further.

I know many people that use multiple ride sharing apps at once. Is it possible that swarm can create an AIO app that integrates all ridesharing services and also has the swarm option? This way you can cut into the ridesharing area.

I mean the benefits of an AIO app speak for itself. Users would have more cars available near them. The drives would have more people to drive. Then swarm comes in, a cheaper alternative to the other ridesharing services. Drivers will then begin to switch over... IDK is UBER etc have terms against this and if there is a way to circumvent those terms. I see this as a way to enter the market.

Other than that, the only way I can see this growing is locally, swarm doesn't have the budget for uberstyle ads.

Well since they just lost the majority of their funding in the parity wallet hack, that might make them give an update..

the hack is bad news OR an opportunity to believe in the project...the reddit thread seems to address everything in an up and up manner IMO.

If the purses of the etherieum are not safe it is the problems of the ethereum and not the swarm city, the project itself is good, against the background of such growth of other currencies, the price for the swarm city will at least return to the previous mark before theft

Only caught my attention because of the pump the other day. Now as I look a little deeper SWT went from 6.8 mi tokens in June to 7.5 now in August. That is a hellava inflation rate. That alone will give me great pause to pursue further

Great news! Swarm City is now on blockchain. After a recent hack where over 30 million in ETH were stolen from multiple blockchain projects, one project called Swarm City has started to get some recognition for having its wallet drained of 44k ETH. I logged in created a wallet without putting any ether but don't get the point
it asked me what I am looking for (I guess to tell me where to get it)

According to yesterday`s news  Swarm City lost over 44,000 ethers alone after multi-sig hack on Parity ETH wallet. Exchange course is quite stable and high for the company who lost such amount of money.

What's causing the pump?

Looks like an error at HitBTC. At first I thought they managed to get the lost ETH back.

Guy I can't see how to recover a wallet , I have ofcourse the private key but now what ? How can I recover it ?

Pump being caused by people turning away from Uber's price increases and turning to Swarm City. Looks a like a whale is positioning for a big run back to 7 to 10 area from this current area of 1.50ish. Only 7 million coins outstanding could be a good pump this weekend

SWARM CITY VS UBER

When you order a ride using Uber, there are two unnecessary third parties that will each take their commission for their service. Those commissions are often unfair as these centralized organisations have control over the majority of the marketplace and have great monopoly. The two third parties in the process of ordering an Uber are your credit card provider and Uber themselves.


When you pay for Uber, the credit card provider will take their commission for enabling the transaction, and then Uber will also take their commission off the transaction for offering the app and matching you to the driver. Average Uber commission is as high as 40%. This means you could get your rideshare for even 40% cheaper. Unnecessary third parties take too big commissions for doing too little, and this is what Swarm City could eliminate – third parties, giving wealth to the community!

I should say SWT will increase its value at least 10x in a month and it may go up even 100x in a few months. A whale has bought about 20% percent of the coins in a week. And I don't think he can dumb his coins in short term. After he reaches  a target number they will pump the price like a rocket. I am estimating he currently has around 400-500 BTC value SWT. That makes more than 4 million USD and I am sure he is not just a speculator but also an investor.

Explain why are you so sure that he is an investor? maybe its the group that buys and sells to create a fake percentage change on bittrex in order to atract investors for a higher price then to correct it and so, until it reaches higher levels, but they get a good bunch of money for it working ¨smart´

I found out about this token thanks to shapeshift.io and I couldnt be more thankful for it being listed there. I wish there was a more open IM Chat community like telegram but I understand that heavy moderation is needed for newbies spamming "when moon" out of speculation. Considering the overwhelming conciseness of github commits, it's easy to tell that their focus is more on development than marketing at the moment - good, the protocol will speak for itself once implemented.  SWT seems like the Craigslist / Uber 2.0 of crypto. Count me in, sleeping giant.

So far we have released Terminal and Boardwalk v1, but we soon realized that the way the app was developed would not work efficiently on Ethereum without major upgrades. This lead us to completely refactor and redesign the app from scratch, into what will become Boardwalk v2.
