All countries except Bitcoins as far I know, maybe 1-2 don't but that's OK. If you would have bothered to Google you would have found out that China has the highest share of Bitcoin hash and all activities it's high there compared to all. Las time I checked China was in Asia. There was also a thread here saying about price in India Bitcoin was around 1000$ again a Asian countries. So yes Bitcoin is accepted by the Asian countries and worldwide. There are local countries board you can check them to see more and specially which country you are referring to. Hope it shall help you.

Yes it is acceptable in Asia. I am from Philippines and we buy bitcoin through Coins.ph website wallet in which there is an option to buy in a convenient store named 7/11.

Of course it is accepted, unless there are restrictions made in the last couple of days, nothing should have changed really,BTC is accepted in almost all countries except for some which made regulations upon BTC and restricted the access to buy and sell and most importantly, use BTC.But in almost all of the major countries BTC is accepted and used with no restrictions.

I think I read in an article that Bitspark, a big money transfer platform which is based in Hong Kong, is expanding its operations in Pakistan because of its huge $20.3 billion remittance market. This company also operates in the Philippines, Indonesia, and Vietnam. That could make bitcoin more visible in your country and may make the interest in it grow.

I think you should have spent time researching before making the post because there are quite a lot of places in Pakistan using Bitcoin and I just found a Pakistan exchange for you. You might want to check their website or better still call them for assistance. "urdubit.com"

Recently from the news Japan and Philippines approve to used bitcoin as a legal tender. I think Dubai is also on the road for approving. Wherever in Asia, bitcoin is being accepted and governments are mobilizing their effort to utilized this cryptocurrency.

That's very true, we even have a Bitcoin ATM in Dubai and it lays credence to the fact that Asia and the Middle East are all embracing Bitcoins do the OP's question comes as a surprise to me because I know India,Pakistan, Japan, China, South Korea,Singapore etc. are all having Bitcoin ATMs and there are Bitcoin exchanges in these Asian countries.

Yes bitcoin is acceptable in Asia but it doesnt apply to all countries in asia of course but to some select countries only. We have the famous country in bitcoin and that is China. We also have the famous country who are always winning in boxing and Ms. Universe the Philippines. Also Japan is not moving towards bitcoin. But even though bitcoin is accepted it doesnt mean that you can buy any goods at local shop.

I thought something like a thing or bitcoin related services if it was accepted in Asia. In general, yes Bitcoin is accepted* at most of the Asian countries but they have different views on this cryptocurrency legally.

Refer here to some insights of legality of bitcoin per country in the world and not just in Asia.

Bitcoin in some part of asia is now recognized and they even accept it for payments. In my country the only accepted is the exchanging at online wallet site and this is so rampant now around the worls particularly in asian countries. There maybe a plan expanding of bitcoin acceptance in my country and hopefully the impact for this could be great opportunity for us who are the users and earners of digital currency.

Other than a very few countries like Iceland, Bolivia, Ecuador, Kyrgyzstan and Vietnam which have some level of Bitcoin ban in place. Other than those, I dont think Bitcoin is banned anywhere else. There's news that Bangladesh has some sort of cryptocurrency ban in place but I have come across a few people who still hold or trade BTC from there. In general Bitcoin is legal in almost all the Asian countries. Some might have put some regulations by now though.

Afaik no country in asia banned bitcoin, they still research about this. And so this is posible to make bitcoin hit $2000 in next year

Asian countries are one among those who have embraced Bitcoin from the very begininig and it's very popular there. Especialy China and Japan, so there shouldn't be any problems. But even in countries where Bitcoin is banned or not so welcomed you could use your coins with Bitcoin debit card.

Bitcoin is evidently available and accepted in some major parts of Asia like Hongkong, Japan, China (well, a little bit of it actually), India, Philippines and Indonesia. Here in the Philippines, you can actually pay your bills and buy some other stuff online with the help of coins.ph. Been utilizing their service since 2014 and I'm loving it since they are integrating more and more services into their platform which is nice.

Well, I am afraid to say this, but you are wrong. Bitcoin is not accepted anywhere, but yes, it is acceptable in Asia, but not in every countries around the world. There are some countries that banned bitcoin because the misuse of it, and people abusing its advantages, like using it in illegal, buying different kind of drugs online, making illegal businesses, buying guns, and so on.

But I think this kind of deeds hasn't done yet by anyone that is why bitcoin is still legal in ASIA, here is the link for the top 10 countries which they banned bitcoin due to their Government reasons.

Beijing local here
bitcoin is the a grey area here, the government doesn't like it at all doesn't really ban it out right but is sensored heavily on the internet
They are smart in that they not only are trying to ban it, but also to create an official government sanctioned version of digitial currency

Bitcoin is acceptable in Asia, but like in the other countries, the Government is not still accepting bitcoin as the main currency or can be the payment on every transaction that we are going to make. I live in an Asian country, Philippines, and I can see how bitcoins population here increases every single day, but most of the bitcoin users here are just wasting their time on those HYIPs which is always ending up being a scam.

Since every bitcoin users here in the Asia are not abusing bitcoin because of its advantage, that is why bitcoin is still legal on Asian countries unlike on other countries which they have already banned bitcoin because of the misuse of it.

As far i know, yes it is. just likes in my country there was pro and contra with the goverment policy. i believe not just in my country had a problem with Government policy. it doesn't mean Bitcoin didn't allowed but their just to much worries about Money laundring,Fraud crimes, and don't know how to controlling Bitcoin when it is being legal. beside most peoples don't really know about Bitcoin and  maybe they just only known by name, don't know how to get it,buy,or used it. when you got support from the goverment Bitcoin maybe someday it will considered as  Legal Digital Curency. But  in Bali island there was a Bitcoin ATM.

Many countries have started to consider bitcoin as legal tender. Of course the governments want some regulation (in my country they asked exchanges to register with the government) but there's no indication that they'd tighten their grip. So far, bitcoin seem to be safe in Asia. Let's just hope ransomware don't become widespread here and sour the public's perception of bitcoin.

I wonder where from asia are you from. in my country Bitcoin is starting to flourish.  Our central bank had recognized Bitcoin as payment, moved to regulate the exchange platform to submit yearly report and implement AML and KYC stricktly.  We can also use bitcoin to buy stuff online, pay our bills and load credits to our mobilephone.  We can also use a third party processor to send remittance all over the country with Bitcoin.

He sees online shop sites originating from Pakistan, looks similar to Alibaba and based electronic products. But unfortunately the site is just explaining theory about bitcoin, doesn't accept payment via bitcoin. Bitcoin is received clearly throughout the world, many Asian countries are already making startup bitcoin exchange markets such as China, Japan, and Indonesia. Regulation hasn't been fully used by all Asian countries, but there is no ban on use, the risk is left entirely to each user.

So far, bitcoin seem to be safe in Asia. Let's just hope ransomware don't become widespread here and sour the public's perception of bitcoin.

Yes it is acceptable in Asia. I am from Philippines and we buy bitcoin through Coins.ph website wallet in which there is an option to buy in a convenient store named 7/11.

That's what I also use. Do you also use any other software wallet?

I also use Coinbase but since there are no withdrawals for our country then it is just like storage for me. I guess I trust Coinbase when it comes to handling my bitcoin. Plus, their prices is better than other wallets so we will just have to wait if ever they will open up the withdrawal here in Philippines.
We should help each other to tell them they should open it since there are a lot of users in our country.

It is a good introduction.
Bitcoin in Asia? Of course there is.
There are a lot of bitcoin wallet businesses that are owned by Chinese.
There is BTC khan and they also have an application for android with news and prices of bitcoin in different wallet sites.
It is a cool app.

Yup I also think that way, that china has been a source of a lot of bitcoin blocks this past months and they are the reason why the value of bitcoin was never be the same, and I think BTC khan did a great job and they hold a large amount of BTC they have give promotional amount of BTC here in the forum I am once joined in some of their events and I had so much fun and all because they are giving a lot of free bitcoins in this forum.

I think it is a true story. but I feel that since the first, bitcoin has indeed spread in Asia, in fact, it has spread to the international world. My country lies in the Asian region, and in my country a lot of people who have been using since bitcoin bitcoin have a high enough price.
You are quite funny. So you think it has spread to the international world  :D which universe is that. ;D OP wanted an exposure to his blog and exactly at what part you think it is a true story. It is just a brief introduction to bitcoin and nothing else. And for the OP if you are looking for click baits make some interesting topic rather than starting a thread and just introducing your blog . :P

By your name I can assume you're from Pakistan or maybe India. And yes bro, bitcoin is big in our part of the world as well, and its getting popular every minute with people from all different fields, especially who know how to use internet. So relax and jump in.

True, the regulations use of bitcoin at average Asian countries is still not fully used because each government is reviewing bitcoin. One consideration that doubted by many governments in Asia is the security of bitcoin. But even so, bitcoin still be used with caution and the government is not responsible if things happen that are not desirable.

The crime gangs are very innovative in Asia. If they came to know about Bitcoin, then they will exploit it for illegal uses, such as blackmail and ransom payments. This may be one of the reasons why the Asian governments are still not willing to legalize Bitcoin. Another issue is tax evasion. As we all know, Bitcoin is a very powerful tool for someone looking to evade taxes.

I think you're being a little generous when you say that they don't know about Bitcoin. I would be willing to bet that there is a considerable amount of crime gangs that know about Bitcoin, and most of them likely use it to some extent, however it might be limited due to some of their capacities.

China has been pretty frustrated by Bitcoin already, wouldn't surprise me if crime groups seek to exploit that.

The prices are dropping, and I do think it is indeed the best time to buy. When the prices drops to the floor again, it would start to skyrocket in price in the very near future. Like what happened this january. Prices reached $1,100 then dropped to $750, now it back to $1,100 after reaching the price of $1,200. I think we'll reach $1,500 on the next rise.

Buying coins from $1k+ is not worth, and don't expect the previous result will repeat now, because in 2013 when halving happened the price raised to $1500 but after that, it suddenly drops to 100$. But last year also halving happened but after that price not went down like 2013. So we can not predict the bitcoin price. But yes this is the time to collect coins but buying coins from real money is too expensive.

I'm from a 3rd world country in Southeast Asia and using bitcoin all the time. Its not used by the majority but still available for them, the number of users are increasing every day because I notice them on facebook groups and my fellow country men are embracing not just bitcoin but also some other altcoins. We do have our own too which is PesoBit and I'm one of the user that keep a stash for the future.

I am currently hired by someone from Japan who also are into ETH and BItcoin, they are currently creating an exchange and I'm one of the 3rd party they  hire for their promotion later.

Anyhow, Bitcoin will become stronger in ASia, I can ensure with you

I have almost read all the answers in this thread because I felt surprised that OPs asked about bitcoin acceptance in Asia especially when he found a blog from an online store which located in the fifth country in the world population. As always bitcoin is well known not only in Pakistan but everywhere in the world with more or less the same circumstances. There are countries where are more bitcoin friendly, other which bitcoin have not still regulated or government keeps a neutral policy and others like as China were they interfere with raw and inelegant way in the operation of Chinese exchanges in order to defend yuan.

I think the problem many Asian governments are doubtful about bitcoin's not it. Security which I think that no one can guarantee if bitcoin saved lost, so if bitcoin in your wallet lost (because a hack or negligence) will not be refunded. It I think that makes bitcoin is still questionable safety by the government. If such illegal things you said paper currency will also be used as it is, so any transaction that includes a tool could be used for illegal things. If bitcoin becomes legal I'm sure will be regulated in order to minimize the occurrence of which you say it.

I think bitcoin is not accepted by any countries yet. The real condition right now is all of the government in the world is not admitted bitcoin as a legitimate payment, but they doesn't prohibit the use of bitcoin (some country banned it). So you have your own risk when you choose to use bitcoin. You can't call the cops if you loose your wallet's key password  ;D
At least you can spend Bitcoin around the world in any store that accept bitcoin as payment.

I am from the philippines and I never heard the news that bitcoin is accepted as a legal tender. Any link to this news?

As far as I know, bsp put a regulatory framework to the likes of coins.ph as a money transfer business. But there is no news I heard about bitcoin as legal tender in the philippines.

You wouldn't think of it like it will compete China but yes it did. Those who trade on Tokyo Forex may be starting to use bitcoin this time. If the rest of the Asian countries will have their own exchanges, its going to boom eventually. Korea has its own too such as Coinone exchange.

Actually Bitcoin can conquer the world if it wasn't for some government, actually that is why bitcoin is just allowed to certain  selected stores all over the world is because the government is prohibiting the use of it entirely in the whole country, we can say that bitcoin is just working in the shadows that is why there are some people that doesn't known the purpose of it.

Crimes are everywhere not just in Asia. Crimes won't stop if users are going to stop using bitcoin, its always there even online there are crimes, its just we don't see it often like the scams here in bitcointalk.  Bitcoin Market will always stay whether there is crime or not. There are more individual using bitcoin for honest businesses, merchants are gradually recognizing it and we're all going to be part of these development in shaping the economy.  Asia is the future :)

Yep I experience that too. The first bitcoin article that I read is about the black market in deepweb , That they are using bitcoin to every of their transactions there. And I think that is the bad side of the bitcoin because you can use it anonymously. But in terms of introduction now in my country the bitcoin became more popular because of the seminar that are conducting by some companies and that is good to here because more people know about bitcoin although is it not user friendly but as time pass by the people will adopt the bitcoin  in their lives.

I was very surprised that the group have so many members. Most of them uses Bitcoin as a form of online investment rather than payment system though. However, I am sure that as time goes on, Bitcoin will earn a place as an online payment system.

(After writing and reading, I am surprised at how I structure my post this time round. lol.)

This is true.Crime rate in Asian countries are high and bitcoin can be misused by criminals and the shortage of blockchain technology experts will make such criminals do away with their crime.

the good news is you are wrong because until today (after bitcoin being around and working strong for 8 year) we have not heard any major usage of bitcoin for illegal activities that is more than usage of fiat. the biggest one was silkroad and darknet and then the ransomware. the rest are too small.

Misuse of bitcoin can be done by anyone anywhere - but that may be an isolated case and not worth noticing. Apart from silk-road incident, ransomware and the uTorrent mining malwares, there has not been much misuse of bitcoin.

Again we can compare fiat which is misused everywhere - bribes, corruption - very high in my country which is in Asia. But bitcoin has not relation to it. Here mostly people use fiat. Very small fraction of us here use bitcoin.

Bitcoin in Asia has got more importance than the Western countries. One such example for this is the Chinese having lot of user base. Even in the past Asia has got more adoption. Users from India on demonetization moved towards bitcoin. Japan with its regulatory law has made bitcoin an officially accepted payment. Philippines has got several outcomes to blockchain technology. Indonesian bank has invested lot for fintech development. As a whole Asia is leading compared to the other continents.

Unfortunately I've never tried it straight away because I live away from that place.

Theres no restriction on where bitcoin could be used specially on Asia,we all know its large and as long theres internet bitcoin could be accessed anytime.Like in my country i do live on southeast asia and i could say there are lots of bitcoin users on my place but adoption isnt too spread but hopefully it would be available soon.

It does take time before it happens. It is just sad sometimes when people are introduced to it for illegal transaction purposes. I have experienced offers like that to where they will buy bitcoins to me just to buy weapons and other illegal stuffs. This way of introduction should be changed.
It would be better to tell them it can be use to send money and Asia is one of the continent who does send money a lot.

Of course bitcoin is a currency and it can be used for illegal activities, like as fiat currencies all over the world. As far as it concerns the 'anonymity', bitcoin isn't and the more possible will never been an anonymous currency. It's only pseudonymous.  That is, the bitcoin address is a pseudonym and the transaction forever is recorded in blockchain. Of course you don't use your real identity. However, in many cases identities can be linked to bitcoin addresses (buying/selling goods and services). And many times is easier to find anyone's using bitcoin the real identity than fiat money. For this reason there are mixing services in order to protect the privacy of people when they transact with their bitcoins.

I think so too. I have also met few who are also into bitcoin and they just kept their btc stored in their android wallets. But not me. I look at Bitcoin as investment as well or crypto in general which also the reason why I kept hopping from one crypto to another. I just hop to see where the price goes and once i gain profit just about enough, I once again hop to another. I helps my investment grow little by little. I haven't found a coin where I can really put my money to except the first top of coinmarketcap. Among them are ETH, DASH and of course BTC.

I fail to understand what is the meaning of bitcoin is accepted in Asia. It is not any paper currency which needs to be accepted or something. It is an online currency and is accepted worldwide that as access to internet. Like particular sites accept bitcoin and those who have access to internet can also access those sites and thereby use bitcoin.

having access to something and being able to use it doesn't mean people are actually using it.
and it is true for bitcoin, it is open to everyone in the world and anyone can easily use it on their own. but as we can see it is not accepted in shops, by merchants or services in most places. but it is being used by many others too but that is just a small percentage right now.

In India people are using bitcoin but the number of people using it is very small compared to china and indonesia. I think more meeting and public campaigns need to be done in order to reach popularity of a certain level. It can also help the merchants to accept it and then people can transact on it. Overall it will lead to public curiosity and they will be ready to accept bitcoin payments at a higher level.

No not really, bitcoin is not accepted in all the countries, for example in north Africa people don’t know what bitcoin is so governments don’t even bother making laws about using bitcoin, in fact some of them don’t even have PayPal yet so bitcoin is a really advanced thing for them.

Yes, bitcoins are very well acceptable in Asian countries. Bitcoins are rather boundry less currency. It is hugely being accepted almost all over the world. Even it has great potential in Asian regions. The potential and benefits that Bitcoin offers are unprecedented. Remittance platforms are a hit since most of the populace are unbanked.  Besides price volatility, there aren’t really downsides to accepting bitcoin. All it takes is good engagement and you may very well see measured growth in the cryptocurrency business in these regions. Online gambling continues to be a lucrative market today and it proves to be highly economical for a dominant key market like China. Not to mention, the growing industry of Bitcoin mining in the region is great potential for bitcoin in Asian regions. The potential and benefits that Bitcoin offers are unprecedented. If you don't know, Japan has the biggest market for Bitcoin in the world beating China in January.
Asia has gradually came up as the new hub for Bitcoin. Asia has highest share in mining farms, notably China. And how can one forget, Asia comprises of great demand for Bitcoin thus it trade at 5-20% premium in countries like India, China, etc.

Whether China is controlling bitcoin or not ,

Atleast 70% of the bitcoin miners are Chinese.
So you get your answer crystal clear.
Yes but exceptions definitely exist.

But in big countries like China , Japan , South Korea, Singapore etc bitcoins have definitely gained a lot of acceptance.

Bitcoin is really popular in places like Japan because of how cool the payment system is. I like to think about different technologies that could be used with Bitcoin integrated into it and used for quick payments without the worries of Bitcoin transactions confirming 7 hours later you know?
Once they fix Bitcoin's payments system (Bitcoin confirmation speed) then it shouldn't be an issue and more people would be using Bitcoin on the go. I think that Bitcoin could get popular inside Asia then the other people that want to get involved within the 3rd world countries will try to do something even better.

It is possible to create a start up company and you can really create a local crypto currency if you are a developer but you cannot have a valuation unless it is a good project but there are many alt coins out there and it is really difficult to get to know about all the coins in existence.
The people in Asia accepted bitcoin with both hands because of the price and the lower wage they get in those areas.

The link provided is not related to Asia. But I will share what I know here in the Philippines about Bitcoin, since Philippines is an Asian country.
In the beginning of 2017 the central bank of the Philippines talks how to regulate Bitcoin usage. Philippine is a third world country but you can use Bitcoin in some stores like 7/11, Avon and many other merchants are accepting it as a payment. You can buy Bitcoin in some banks here (e.g. PNB, Metrobank, BDO). I don't know what is the situation of Bitcoin in other Asian countries but to think of it Philippines is a third world country. I think Bitcoin is more popular in other Asian countries like Japan Malaysia and China.

If you are talking about the new cryptocurrency that is made within the Philippines then you are probably talking about Pesobit. Pesobit is a new cryptocurrency within that country and that local cryptocurrency can be converted into their local currency. But let us go back to bitcoin, bitcoin on the other hand is the most trusted cryptocurrency in the Philippines and there are even exchanges that makes it easier to convert fiat currency to bitcoins and vice versa.

Are you certain that the bank there accepts bitcoin fully on it's own and not coupled with another payment method like western union or a money order.
Because I find it hard to believe that the government hasn't accepted it as an official currency yet the banks are doing transactions without regulation enforced by the governing bodies. Don't the government own the banks there?
No where else in the world have I heard this they solely accept bitcoin payments and allow you to withdraw fiat money at their countries bank. Not even China allows that and just look at the mess they are in with bitcoin and don't know what to do when it comes to how to use it now. ::)

Bitcoin investments are popular in South Korea and Japan because of Chinese law, so now Chinese investors can only trade privately.

Chinese investors are purchasing Bitcoins through exchanges in Hong Kong and South Korea. I am not very sure whether they are using the Japanese exchanges, because they are having tough KYC requirements. Also, the South Korean authorities have tried to ban the Chinese users from the exchanges in their country.

They don't need to use foreign exchanges if they want. There are various p2p websites where you can buy bitcoin from China.

Bitcoin in asia emerges in the aftermath of the global financial crisis. More Asians are starting to see it as a way to make some quick cash, but also as a way to safeguard their savings against political crises and low interest rates.

Some of examples are low interest rate in Japan, the strict regulations of money out in China, and concerns about the North Korean crisis impacting economy in South Korea. These are reasons why so many in Asia are trying to cash in on the Bitcoin craze.

Yes our country are not banning bitcoin but they always keep on telling us about being wise and be careful and are always warned us even in the news. But it doesn't mean that they are much more approved because they have still doubt it and still warned people about something that are about negative sides. I don't if Banko Central is only panicking that's why they keep on warned us. Well, that was my opinion and I think I'm not wrong about it. But anyway, great to have a nation like this.

I cannot confirm every country in Asia accepts Bitcoin as a mode of payment as some countries like Bangladesh, Nepal, India, China have unclear legal acceptance to Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency. But there are some Asian countries that accept Bitcoin like Korea, Japan, and also my country the Philippines as a mode of payment and also can be legally exchange to other currencies. But the problem here is that it is not yet ideal to use Bitcoin as a mode of payment because of the time needed for it to transfer and also the additional cost involve for transferring the money.

i agree that china recently had to restricts ico and other crypto related services like online exchanges , i dont know the real reason to that on why  they are doing it but it i think crypto doesnt have any bad effects to the country that will adapt it or to the people that will use it.  i also heard latelty that china again has announce that they are now accepting bitcoin or cryptos again and these were also the reason of the recent price hike of bitcoin that results for  him to climb up  to 19 to 20k dolars.

Asia is a continent and there is no central body of some sorts that is governing it. Nor is their any continental government in Asia. There are only different countries and each and every country has its own laws and policies. There are so many countries where Bitcoin and crypto are allowed, some with a little tight regulations. It all depends on the specific countries. There are also countries in Asia where Bitcoin is not allowed at all. Most countries, for example, in the Middle East are not open to Bitcoin.

BTCitcoin is not accepted in some part of Asia. But there are ways to spend it. You can exchange it to dollars before you can use it. Like in Philippines you need to have wallet that is the best but worst in charges. Coins.ph wallet is the most popular BTCitcoin wallet in Philippines. You need it to cash out your bitcoin into Peso. But I think there are some parts of Asia that accept bitcoin. I read a good news that McDonald will accept BTCitcoin in the future.

This is the most dangerous situation. Just like what happened in my country (India). At first, the government only issued warning regarding the crypto-currency usage. They were saying that we must use crypto at our own risk. But once the prices sky-rocketed, the tone changed. They started sending legal notices to anyone suspected of using Bitcoin.

the concern of a country if it does not care about bitcoin is the performance of the banking to be disturbed. many of the investors are investing more money in cryptocurrency than in the bank so I think that's the cause of the black campaign from banking because they are losing in the competition for the investors.

Bitcoin was popular in Asian countries like China, Japan, Indonesia, South Korea, India etc. China was the biggest trader as well as bitcoin miner. Biggest mining farms were from China. Going one step ahead Japan has taken initiative to setup bitcoin ATM centers. But later on China banned bitcoin currency from their economy by having security reason. After that countries like Japan, Indonesia, Korea also banned Bitcoin currency. India has not banned bitcoin yet but Central bank is warning bitcoin investors and traders against use of bitcoin. This is bitcoin`s status in Asia now.
