I just installed the bitcoin wallet, but there is no place to set the password... Is that normal?

Quote
When the wallet is locked, calls to sendtoaddress, sendfrom, sendmany, and keypoolrefill will return Error -13: "Error: Please enter the wallet passphrase with walletpassphrase first."

so they'd have to break the wallet before they can steal from it...

Because if you leave your computer unattended or if someone remote access your comp, it makes it harder for them to get your bitcoins.
