I just installed the bitcoin wallet, but there is no place to set the password... Is that normal?

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Wallet_encryption

Quote
When the wallet is locked, calls to sendtoaddress, sendfrom, sendmany, and keypoolrefill will return Error -13: "Error: Please enter the wallet passphrase with walletpassphrase first."

so they'd have to break the wallet before they can steal from it...

It feel weird not have a password on the computer programs...

But now I have figured out how the bitcoin works, it's a fantastic tool.

Malware will likely include a keylogger, but password serves well for unprotected backups.

Because if you leave your computer unattended or if someone remote access your comp, it makes it harder for them to get your bitcoins.
