Title: Gtx 1080Ti - $699. Faster than Titan XP. Thoughts?

Gtx 1080ti, 3584 cuda cores, 11Gb ram, $699.

Thoughts? Worth it for mining?

Anyone knows how much a Titan XP makes per day? I'm guessing the 1080ti will beat the Titan in some algos, while slightly losing in memory intensive algos due to the slightly nerfed memory bus.

Might be great for equihash if the bandwidth is higher than the 1080.

It draws 250W, that is really a lot. It should have equihash rate of like 1000 sols to justify the price and power draw, which I certainly dont believe it the case,
but I'm looking forward to first reviews.

Its 660 at 180w
Eth is 38 mhs 125w
Pascal is 1650 at 180w
Lbry is 450mh at 180w
Sib at 21mhs at 180w

Where you have taken the numbers from?

I am much more interested in the new updated 1060 6 GB with 9GBPS memory clock (higher than the current 1070).

:)
Consider it titan xp numbers - might be a bit slover on eth (1080ti) - but around 5 %

50% faster than a 1070 but consume more than 50% and cost more than 50%, not worth it

I think I will buy it for gaming when it is available in my country. We will see how it performs on mining with lower TDP.

we have been waiting on this card since the beginning of last year ...

thefarm will be completely revamped and upgraded with the new cards that will eventually be the extreme models ( usually gigabyte extreme ) ...

if these figures are real - then we cant wait ...

Minimum tdp is 125w for founders edition - basically it is almost the same perf per watt as 10xx
Makes sense only from density perspective (less mb/cpu /memory/frame material/ventilation - in terms of quantaty of fans/ convinience)
1060oc - we need to see prices first
Equilihash can be easily pushed to 700+ but it will require more then 180w - i myself would prefer this if it wouĺd be a little cheaper - i think 1070 would still be optimal (might drop a little in price - i hope)

The best thing which makes your videocard faster this is not memory capacity it depends on bit memory bus, better to take it with higher option. You probably need to look at 256 bit or 342 or higher, because capacity depends only on how much graphic it can show in on moment. The bit memory bus gives you more productivity hashes for second

Its the first link on http://www.gamersnexus.net/, it is written at the bottom of the article. Very respected site so this should be 100% confirmed.

Also, the price of the GTX 1080 get reduced by 100$ (confirmed) and the GTX 1070 by 50$ (not sure).

In other, brief news for the evening, nVidia announced new support of memory overclocked SKUs of the GTX 1060 6GB and GTX 1080 video cards.
These cards will be available at 9Gbps for the GTX 1060 6GB and 11Gbps for the GTX 1080, a full 1Gbps faster on the memory for each option.
As we understand it, AIB partners will carry these independently, with no expected reference models.

So we will have to track which manufacturer offer those cards i hope EVGA does :)

The numbers show Gtx1080TI and Gtx 1070 are in the same ballpark for ROI, after considering rig costs.
Anyone willing to look through my spreadsheets to see if there are any errors?

You are all about density so this might be worth it, but card resale is a factor and the very high end depreciates value faster

Yeah we will. I expect this will be the new mining sweetspot and it should also delete the poor performance on Ethash that the 1060 currently has.

Something I noticed with the GTX 1070 on ETH is it can mine on 50% TDP and get full hash rates because the 1070 is able to hit a high enough GPU clock on low power and only reduces hashrate if I underclock the core enough

Does the 1060 pull off its full hashrate at 50% TDP too? If it does that is killer efficiency for ETH. Problem with getting into GPU purchasing for ETH specifically now is that it is going POS soon. It should do nicely on ZEC and PASC

It depends on the brand and model as each has slightly different core and memory stock clocks.  With EVGA 1060 SC 6gb they can go down to 72 watts each before they start losing hashrate:

The single most important number (hash rate) is not visible. :D
Anyways, what is up with that huge fan, and the temp is still almost 80 c?

I have 5 amd 480's (and 1070s...), and even without any exterior cooling, temps never go past 73 c, often are in the mid 60s.
