there are a lot of us demand shop that accepting bitcoin as payment, but from this forum i found out that there are some people unwilling to spend their bitcoin, so I want to asked If you found a shop that accepted bitcoin and fiat as payment, which one will you used?

if you are using bitcoin then maybe today 1 apple is 0.0008 btc , but tomorrow with 0.0008 btc you can buy 2 apples, but if no one used bitcoin for shopping then there won't be any shop that will adopting bitcoin anymore

so what will be you choice?

I always prefer to pay with Paypal, if Paypal is not available nor free returns is offered I don't shop there.

Online shopping has come a long away and now we buy a lot more than what we intend to keep, so some stuff will always be returned, easy refunds and free returns are mandatory.

I want to used bitcoin for shopping because I want to buy what I want instantly without exchanging it into legal money but before that happens, bitcoin need to adopt in the country. Sadly, there is no shop for bitcoin payment in our country for now and I hope it will be adopted in our country sooner.

For me more depends to my needs. If today did I need apple albeit with 0.0008 BTC only get 1 apple because I really need it now, though with 0.0008 BTC tomorrow I can get 2 apple. Plus bitcoin also unpredictable dude, it could be if you delay to buy the next day the apple prices can  more expensive and you have to pay more for one apple. thank you

It depends what I'm buying so my decision will vary. But since I have Bitcoin debit card this makes Bitcoin payment much more easier so I use this payment option more often and I'm very satisfied. But everything depends on exact situation and my estimation what is better for me at that moment, sometimes it will be Bitcoin and sometimes PayPal.

It depends. If I'm buying something expensive that needs shipping, I use Paypal in case of fraud or there is an issue where I need to get my money back again.

If it's a gift card ($10 - $50) I just use my bitcoins (but in a shop/person which I really trust of course) as it's just a small instant transaction.

In a shop if bitcoin and fiat is accepted, then surely I'll go for fiat. The reason is that fiat has a common value, but bitcoin is not like that. Periodically bitcoin increases in value, so it's been saved as an investment to profit for a long time plan execution.

The main reason I'm not using bitcoin daily for purchases is simply the speed. Credit/debit cards are most often still faster to use and offer more protection as the buyer.

If these things somehow change, I'm definately using bitcoin more.

Yeah. Choosing what to spend between bitcoin and fiat. I choose to spend bitcoin when buying online stuffs in the internet. Because the transaction was much convenient and yeah. I am buying in a shop that accepts bitcoin that's why I am not having any problem regarding it. Now, when I am shopping in the mall. I usually spend fiat because it is a simple transaction rather than paying by debit card or bitcoin.

it depends on where the shop is!
if it is within my country and i can use my bank cards then it would be free for me to use without any fees or taxes so obviously i am going to choose that over bitcoin.

but anything abroad, i always definitely choose bitcoin over any other option despite all the problems lately with high fees and possible long confirmation time, bitcoin is still much better than options such as Paypal that i see some others use!

If people do really have strong beliefs about bitcoin on its potential value on future they would really decide not to spent their own bitcoin on just micropayments just like buying small amounts of goods and other stuffs and i would probably do the same thing too and instead of using my bitcoin i would still choose local fiat and tend to save up my bitcoin for future use.

As much as possible, fiat will be the one that will primarily used on any kinds and type of spendings whether for online and offline transactions. Well in the first place, that is an obvious thing to do even prior to the existency of bitcoin.

So with bitcoin now as a bonus to our usual financial life, it must be saved and will just be spend if it's really needs or in a such a case that can be called "no choice" or just want to try how bitcoin works in online transaction.

This has always been a little bit of concern for me. A majority of people use bitcoin as an investment venture rather than a currency, now the problem from both ends. People don't use bitcoin as currency as not many merchants accept bitcoin, while on the other hand, many merchants don't accept bitcoin because no one spends it. I personally also sometimes hesitate to pay with bitcoin for this reason itself. If i think about it, I bought a VPN subscription about a year ago for 70$ when BTC was $500, so technically according to today's rate i paid more than double for the subscription.

Me too. I use PayPal a lot on my online shopping. What I do is I sell my bitcoins for PayPal balance using the buy/sell feature on my coinbase wallet.

I didn't buy a thing with bitcoins directly yet. In my places there are not such places that accept bitcoins and that sites that accept bitcoin haven't anything interesting to me or they base somewhere in America and delivery costs huge and it's more profitable to buy in a local store. But in the case of it would be such place I would gladly pay with bitcoin. Bitcoin to me is easy money. Today I make it mostly with commenting only, so I would better spend bitcoins than fiat that I earn on my work, and it's kinda hard money to me.

I would love to use my bitcoin directly on a supermarket which i do really wish this thing to happen on my place i dont mind on the value as long i dont need to exchange my bitcoin just to buy anything.

I am trading my bitcoins and I earn from doing it. So if ever I will choose between the two, I will spend fiat and store my bitcoin. There will be chance that bitcoin price will be very high and I do not want to regret if I spend it all today. I will reserve my bitcoin for that day.

If I found a shop that's near to my location and they are accepting bitcoin. I will still think about it but I'll buy and use first my fiat for it instead of spending my bitcoins. Since my priority on my coins is for holding it and for investing it that way. But if there's a need to use my bitcoins for that shop and buy something they got that I badly need then I won't have any second thought on it.

Right now we are at an interesting time, because even though the price of Bitcoin has increased, most people are still just mining/ hoarding.
There may be room for the price to go up if there is ever mass adoption.
Thats why I think its still prudent to buy and hold at least a coin or two if you can afford to do it.

I've long been using bitcoin as a currency, it is simplest for paying things online. I've spent them whether it's price was really cheap or even high. However i feel little bit regret, if i hadn't spent those amounts i would hold much money right now, to be honest i can not deny that bitcoin is best as an investment, so for this reason i would pay that thing with fiat not with bitcoin, i would rather holding than spending them, i would spend them only if i couldn't use fiat, people also predict that bitcoin's price might be hit 2k dollars or even more so it's good for hold them.

I don't know about you but that would be cutting into their profits if they accepted a delayed order as you know with shops and their ordering of stock is not intheir hands until the customer places the order. :-\

In my case I prefer to use fiat because I have got fiat plenty in my wallet but less bitcoin . that too bitcoin price is rising like anything . So I dont  want to spend my bitcoins .If it was one year back I would have used bitcoins many be. But now definitely a big no. I will start spending bitcoins when its price reach the saturation level.

As you said, today 1 apple can cost 0.0008 BTC, but tomorrow I can use the same BTC amount to buy 2 or even more apples... So I think it's better to hold Bitcoins even finding a shop accepting it. The expectative of many members of this forum and of many Bitcoin investors is to have Bitcoin rising a lot this year, and I think it's a very real possibility if we look the price at this moment and the price since the beginning of 2017. In my opinion, using BTC now to shopping is a waste of money.

I mainly use PayPal. Not because I wouldn't want to spend my bitcoins sometimes but I like to shop online and in many shops that I like I can't spend bitcoin. Hope this will change soon and more popular web shops will decide to accept bitcoins as a payment.

If I had the option to buy with bitcoins and fiat, right now I would chose to pay with fiat for now. As prices are currently raising so great that having to use it would mean that my money could double it if I had just kept it. But probably, when the world accepts bitcoins and there are plenty of stores and people using it, then probably the prices will stabilize and using it would be a breeze and there is no regret about using it.

Digital goods would be the best. I have never ever spent my Bitcoin in real life except converting it to Fiat. My country does not accept Bitcoin and we still have to use Fiat to buy food and daily needs.  Well, we still have to wait for a long long time for Bitcoin to be accpeted all around the world

- I need reputable site to use my btc, because once payment has been paid i can not dispute that payment
- I still believe in btc will have higher price, because it's difficulty and massive adoption

Yeah bitcoin is becoming widespread as it covers worldwide but is not used that much. Maybe some prefer bitcoin in spending their money but the problem there is that there is an insuffiscient number of stores who accepts bitcoin since it is just slowly embraced by different countries. But it will really vary on the person who likes to transact whether to use bitcoin or other means. But it would be more likely to be the same faucet but different label.

I will choose my bitcoin payments, so why risk using bitcoin because the price is fluctuating, sometimes for the price it was sometimes a disadvantage but that bitcoin always provide convenience wherever we are

It's not like I don't use my Bitcoin for purchases. I will use Bitcoin when I need anonymity as a buyer and with only trusted person or website as I can be scammed with it easily afterward.

The opposite is also true.... You might buy something for $1000 worth of Bitcoin today and then the price drops by 50% ..... that would give you

a gain of 50% on what that item cost you today. Take the pizzas that were bought by Lazlo back in the day... yes he spend a few thousand bitcoin

on them, but at the time it only cost him a few dollars. Fiat is losing value much more quickly than Bitcoin.... what can you buy for a few cents

of course I would always choose bitcoin. Well, different place, it will be different that I use. if on the internet, I would use bitcoin as a medium of exchange if it is possible, but in the real world, I would use a fiat. Well, until now, I still do it.

it depends of how much money i have in fiat or in bitcoin. by the way, I think i will use my real money for buying apple or anything else. Because nowadays saving bitcoin is a good idea for the future. because price will increase more. The variation of current money in my country with other  real currency is too low. so saving bitcoin is better than saving real money.  ;)

fluctuations always be the risk during use cryptocurrency and i have realize that situations but i would took my own risk with choosing bitcoin rather than fiat

Bitcoin should be use for investation purpose mostly and usually I'm spend bitcoin just for fun need not daily need because as you said, bitcoin value always change everyday.

I've never used my bitcoins to buy stuff. The price increase is just too large in my country that it feels a waste to use it to buy stuff, especially trivial stuff I can buy with cash of my pocket. If I need to go to the grocery then I'll just use my credit card. If it's online and I really need it then I can just use my Payoneer account (which I've also not used yet, I know, I'm old school). I might buy using bitcoin but probably if there's a physical store (I've heard stories of transactions going wrong) and if the price is pegged to fiat. I currently see it now more of an investment tool because of the large increase in value.

I'd choose to pay in fiat for now, because I still have more fiat than Bitcoin and fiat isn't bringing me profit from holding it. Why should I sell Bitcoin now, when it's going up like crazy?

I think it's okay to spend bitcoin as long as you will replace it quickly ;). Some merchants also offer Bitcoin discounts. One strategy some people use is to always buy when the price drops. That way there is always a supply of bitcoin coming in.

I think it depend on where the store is located.  If it is oversea then more likely I will use Bitcoin since I do not have my paypal activated and I have no bank account since I am really not a fan of banking.  But if it is a local shop then I will be using fiat currency since I can physically go to that store and hand pick the item I want.

It depends on the circumstances, if I knew the shop accepts Bitcoin prior to leaving the house I will definitely prepare to pay in bitcoins but if I just got to know upon arrival at the shop then I will pay with fiat I planned paying with before leaving my house.

I would rather use fiat currency and save my bitcoin for future trades.  Using Bitcoin now when we all know that it will increase in price in the future is simply wasting an opportunity to earn.  So rather spending my BTC, I would rather spend fiat currency that will depreciate in the future and lock safe my Bitcoin for future appreciation in value and price.

I actually choose both btc or Fiat depends if I trust the site to pay it and depends on the situation of course. Pay it in BTC or Fiat is no difference it's only volatility of bitcoin price and you will paid it base on fiat . But for those who want to save btc now for investment purposes it will hard for them to expend  it now ,so they prepared Fiat for buying.

For example, my VPN may know my real IP address but they don't know my real name or have my credit card info on file.

If I'll saw a shop that accepts bitcoin then I need to consider first if the products that they're selling is what I need. If I need the products that they are offering then I will gladly use and spend my bitcoins to them. But if they don't have then I won't spend and waste my bitcoins just to do a bitcoin transaction on that shop.

Yes it does depend on how a person would spend his btc and he would like to use it directly or better to save it compare on using it on small transactions.In my place on where bitcoin is already available to be used on stores i would not still use it better to stick to fiat and would save as much as i can.

Fiat is still the preferred payment option for me, because with the use of debit card, I can easily make my transactions on a real-time, hassle-free transaction. I have bitcoin primarily as investment and only use it for transactions in which it is more economical and practical to use. And given how transactions take time with bitcoin, I wouldn’t want to be in a store waiting for a small transaction to be confirmed if I could just easily pay with my debit card. It’s all about making life simpler and less complicated for me.

The logic there is not all people are investors but we are all spenders, we who are investing in bitcoin will prefer to save more than spend our bitcoins. My opinion on that is because we are fully aware that the value of bitcoin has potential to increase substantially in the future but that would not mean that we will never spend bitcoins, of course we will also spend but in a controllable manner.

The volume of bitcoin is limited only so if more people will create demand then for sure the value will increase which in that sense we will be benefited with our investment.

I will prefer to use which one will be beneficial to me in terms of cost because that same 0.0008btc that is now buying 2 apples today might end up not even buying one the following day but same cannot be of Fiat. What I will do is consider the cost if I change in to Fiat and then buy compared to when I buy directly with btc then from there I decide which one to go for...

If you are trying to make us pick between fiat and bitcoin then I would pick fiat for buying the damn apple.
Merchants can make bitcoin as an option for payment. There will be not much of a buyer if you would only use bitcoin as a means of payment. If you are a businessman you would know this, you would not risk just having one option.

the more you make transaction the more transaction fee is traded. At a point you will consider not purchasing in trickles but large amount to prevent regular delay of payment confirmation and transaction fee

Interesting question even I had met a guy who had similar questions regarding using Bitcoins over Fiat. His query was if he accepts the coins and it rises fair and good but what if the value drops, here he shall be a sure shot loos. While if he sticks to Fiat he won't suffer a loss atleast. After having forth and on arguments, I finally convinced him to give it a try, as the price always shoots up and even if it comes down it will shoot up. I wouldnt mind using Bitcoins in the shops saves my Fiat, I am totally in for Bitcoins being used instead of Fiat in shops. I would take two apples for 0.0008 op.

In the situation if it would be any shop here that accpet bitcoin I would gladly pay with bitcoin and no matter how I would pay for an apple.
Do you know about psychology of easy money and hard money? (Easy money spended fast and hard money - it's hard for you to spend it so easily) Bitcoin is easy money to me, so in the option that would be shops that accept bitcoin I would pay there with bitcoin. I think that method only would stimulate all bitcoin's economy and would help bitcoin to develop and rise it's price.

it depends. if I can buy something with fiat, I'll use fiat. however, if the shop selling the thing I want to buy is far, let's say it's abroad, then I will use bitcoin as long as the shop accept bitcoin. because bitcoin is more profitable as investment.

paypal eat you 3.5% in fee which is huge if you buy a thing for $400 for example...

Indeed steps that we have to do now is use the bitcoin as a place of investment, because not many bitcoin known by a lot of people but it has been very beneficial in comparison with the existing currency and also compared with other investments. Where the investment is in addition to the bitcoin takes a longer time and have a great risk. But it should be noted, that paypal has a level of security and the policy is pretty strict. Why do you say that it is more profitable as an investment but you use it to buy things for it. Then you should just use fiat always than spending you bitcoins because as you said it is a more profitable as an investment. This is what I believe too. There is little point in using it, then regret using it because you realize the prices are high by the time you already paid for something using bitcoins.

I would like to use my bitcoin for shopping. And also many other places where i can use it .It will be more exiting.and i am desperately waiting for this.

When it comes to online shopping nowadays, I think Paypal was still the one who is more usable than bitcoin, though there shopping online who accepted bitcoin as mode of payment like amazon, allexpress, and others.

First one can't be atm. These are micropayment, and how we trade with this network delay and fee problem. Bitcoin is no more for micropayment. Meanwhile other blockchain take 10s and fee is cheap.

Yes there is no doubt about this that it will be very much excited to use bitcoin as currency in our local shops, for me i never do so, because here is not a single shop who can accept bitcoin here but i am still hopeful that a time will come when i will be able to use bitcoin as currency in our local shops for shopping.

I preffered to use fiat because for me it is easy to spend. In my country, bitcoin is not totally legalise.If i want to shop using bitcoin,I will transfer it to fiat. If our government allow to use bitcoin for shopping in the future or they create a website that bitcoin directly accepted,i will go for it.

Regrets indeed very many experienced by users of the bitcoin earlier, because they now have to accept the fact that the price of the bitcoin is much higher and also very beneficial if they could buy a lot of bitcoin. But it all is not the end of all the struggle and also a desire to achieve, for the future of the bitcoin is very long. It made us have to benefit from related actions and think about bitcoin
 

Actually there is a certain place in Europe that almost all shops in the town are accepting bitcoins in exchange for goods and services. As I can remember there was a post in this forum talking about how it all started and how other local shops joined the group. But hoping that it will also happen to other countries. The only thing we need to do is just wait.

Firstly, I have not seen any shop in my country to buy something with bitcoin. But just for example, if i have choice to use both fiat and bitcoin. Than i will prefer to use bitcoin, because now i have no experience to use bitcoin in open market. But only i want to use bitcoin in first time, may be in second time, i don't want to use bitcoin, i will prefer to save bitcoin instead of use.

bitcoin is used better online, there are many shop online take a look at them and try to use bitcoin, i do it all the time when i need something to purchase, the fee are quite bad now with all this block limit issue, but still better than paying with debit card imho, and don't forget that with service like purse.io you can kill the fee with their 20% discount, this really help bitcoin a lot

It is a good question.
I would retain the Bitcoins ,I have earned with me.
But you have a valid argument that I every one stops using it then it will be literally good for nothing.
But this is not practically possible,
Because as of now there are millions of people using bitcoins,
And mind it they are happy with it.(most of them)
So why would they immediately stop using it.
So as a conclusion I would prefer using fiat for daily transactions.
Because history favours them i.e.their cost has increased exponentially wrt to time.
So I consider bitcoin as a form of investment.

I will use fiat and not bitcoin, i treat bitcoin as an investment (safe one) rather than a money that i have to use for my daily expenses. I like to store bitcoin for next few years, price has been doubled within few years so it is likely that price will double again within next 2-3 years so i am storing my wealth in bitcoin rather in my local banks which has only 10% yearly interest.

i will actually choose bitcoin as i have many times before. and i have never thought about the profit that i miss out on, the though obviously have crossed my mind but i never regret spending small amounts of bitcoin such as 0.01-0.02BTC

I will also use Bitcoin to purchase my things. But to buy an apple or small things I use to pay fiat currency. For the small amount, it is very complicated to calculate the value of BTC, and sometimes the BTC transfer chargers are high to compare the value of the product. But I will play my mobile bills and electricity bills through Bitcoin. I don't like to spend my fiat currency it's must needed for me.  

In my own i think if the site is not well known i will choose the safety way of payment like paypal as fiat..  but if the site is well know like steam or purse i can spend my bitcoin to them.. i am just thinking always for safety way so that we can not lose a money or scam. .

I prefer using bitcoin because it is very famous nowadays. We all know that bitcoin is used by many people in different countries. Eventhough that some countries doesn't support bitcoins we can say that if they will study how bitcoin works and what are the advantages of using it, it will make them to realize that bitcoin is a good one and very helpful thing when it comes to fast transactions in online buying and some stores. It is hassle free and no need to bring some high amount money. Bitcoin is a very helpful currency and it helps many people nowadays to have a good earnings and some people may get rich becausw of it having a high value that continuous increasing. The kind of people you have pointed out, I am one of them. I treat bitcoin as an investment and not as a currency. So if a shop owner accepts payments in bitcoin and fiat both, I will definitely use fiat currency and not my bitcoin. The reason is the same as you have mentioned. If you compare the price volatility, then you will actually end up loosing more that the cost of the product.

But I think you don’t need to be worried about the transactions of bitcoin. The bitcoin is widely accepted in online world and new merchants are added every single day. So the transactions are happening, but not for the silly things like daily groceries or mobile recharge.

The two have their advantages when buying online most especially when the store is not reliable. Trade with coin might not be refunded if your purchase is not delivered, it is a mindset you prepare yourself for, Not that that it happens every time. Most banks offer this services if u try. My observation is that localbitcoin traders get your bitcoin into fiat at higher rate base on dollar at blackmarket in some countries. Going to market with fiat converted will make a cheaper purchase

I will still to choose the fiat. With the technical problem of bitcoin and i will never use it for the daily transaction. Fiat still becomes the main currency for everyone in the real life. I don't want my transaction gets a stuck on the bitcoin network and will be delivered in next day.

That's why bitcoin will not replace dollar. Bitcoin will crypto currency with dollar as the comparator. So if you choose and accept bitcoin as payment in your business, the price is not specified by bitcoin, but it's specified by dollar and the convert to Bitcoin.
For example. I have a travel agency that accepting bitcoin as payment for my product. Let say for 3d2n tour package in Lombok customer have to pay $200 in bitcoin. If today 1btc worth to $1200 customer will pay in bitcoin about 0.17 btc. If 2 weeks later a customer book the same package when bitcoin worth to $2000, he will pay 0.1btc for this. I always get $200 in different amount of bitcoin.

For what is going on now in an online shop industry, there was a site who accepted bitcoin which is amazon.com and allexpress is also accepted bitcoin. And here in my country we had a merchant online accepted bitcoin travel tour.  Still this things will depend on the place or country.

For now I still convert Bitcoin to my local currencies and buy what I need, why I do this because there's no much shop in my country accept Bitcoin as a payment and though there's goods they are sell is not goods for daily use.

At first if there's a shop that accepts bitcoin here in my country, I will used both bitcoin and fiat as this are easy way As payment. Anyway here it goes for me its a case to case basis, If i have much more btc in my wallet Ill used it as payment. And, if easy for me to pay into fiat I will use it also as payment.

so far I have always used bitcoin as payment option if the shop that I am visiting offers it and in some cases if the shop/service/merchant is not accepting bitcoin payment and I am a frequent buyer there, I have asked them to add bitcoin payment. for example Steamstore.


this is the mentality that needs to change.
if you have 0.0008BTC in total then obviously just hold that amount for the future to be able to buy 2 apples! but if you have 0.01BTC then spending 0.0008BTC is a good idea for multiple reasons.
first you are taking some profit from your investment, you shouldn't be just selling to fiat in order to make profit. you can do it like this too.
second you are helping the adoption. people keep saying there is nowhere to spend bitcoin but how many of you can say you asked a merchant to accept bitcoin?

I would use the Bitcoin as a way to pay in shops. It is a great way to use The Bitcoin, and more people will join BTC, because you can now pay with it.

If this happens then more and more shops will do it because they don't want to be left behind by other stores.

I will surely pay through the Fiat only .
The reason to pay through the Fiat only is not only single .
Think here throughly that what will happen if the price of the Bitcoin sudden increase after hour of the payment .
Here Fiat payment remain constant and take less charge as an fee but in case of Bitcoin payment we will face more problem ,.if the price increase after payment then our mind will say to own again and again that why I made that payment .
secondly the shopkeeper will not direct trust on you for the direct payment and go away , he will wait for atleast one confirmation because the reverse in the payment of the Bitcoin is a common thing before the confirmation  .
So here we need to do something more changes and development then we can say that we will pay in Bitcoin definitely .

For someone who constantly earn bitcoin from signature campaign, I may be considering to pay bitcoin for one apple than cashing out my bitcoin when all I want is just one apple.  Either way, Bitcoin will be spent whether online of offline. The moment its gets to the hand of someone eager to invest to some altcoins, it will be spend and will help the circulation of the money. But if I however have the money in my pocket, I'd rather be paying fiat paper for I don't need to scan QR code and reveal my address to some sellers.

Currently, I will still prefer to use Fiat whether that will be more expensive or not because that is the only choice I have now to get my apple because over here, we have no stores that accept btc around here. And I cannot because of that order for Apple from another country. But coming back few years from now to answer this question, I will be able to decide which one is more cost effective.

I guess its because of the nature of bitcoin when its come to price volatility , many businesses does not accept bitcoin as their alternative mode of payment in fear of being bankrupt when the price of bitcoin suddenly fall down ! imagine if you are the owner of a business and you just found out that the price of bitcoins suddenly turned its half of its original price , imagine how much loss will bring it to your business ?

I think the use of bitcoin for shopping is a good thing, and its value is a very normal matter, when we accept bitcoin, we accept it. You are right in that point. The current condition of bitcoin nowadays displays bitcoin as a stock more than as a currency. There are only a few and selected place both offline and online that accepts bitcoin as a mode of payment but majority thinks of bitcoin as a stock. With this reality we have no choice but to trade our bitcoin to local cash so we can purchase the things that we need.

On a second thought I think I will use both depending on the items each shop had to offer. Maybe I might be looking for items in the shop accepting Bitcoin and do I will prefer paying in Bitcoin instead of cash but I will have no option but to pay cash in the other shop since they don't accept Bitcoin at all if it happens that the items I need are in that shop.

As far as I know, there are already a number of places to develop such stores, and have a city of their own bitcoin. There, every transaction is paid by bitcoin, anyone owns the bitcoin for themselves. That's a great thing, everything is fast and convenient, a life of technology that we always dreamed of, think of the future, someday, as technology grows, it's like In science fiction films. It may not be a bitcoin, but it will be a similar, new and beautiful technology platform.

Its going to be a headache for an online store owner to only accept btc but accepting paypal too is a hell of chargeback issues. It will probably make sense to use a 3rd party for this to work for the preferences of bitcoin holders and paypal/payoneer users. Personally, I will only use bitcoin for investments, trading and gambling and nothing more.Buying using paypal however is an option for me.

This scenario would really be normal and i do believe most bitcoin holders are doing the same thing since there are no lots of stores that do accept bitcoin which we could able to spend directly our bitcoin to it. Same as yours i do actively spend my bitcoin to fill up the needs for everyday living but i do still save some of it.

I choose the shop that are accepting bitcoin as payment, I think direct transaction with bitcoin would then make other shop realizes the usefulness of bitcoin and I think it is a hustle free for the community like myself that are still converting my bitcoin to fiat to buy in any shop in my country this will make my time worth while and would really make the transaction real fast.

How can we use bitcoin for shopping if no online merchants is adopting bitcoins? I've got confused. I am willing to spend my bitcoin for online shopping, but if cash on delivery is available then I would prefer to choose it first.

As many questions the answer is not black or white but it depends. So if you want other people to adopt bitcoin as currency then you have to ask it. That is, when you buy something you could ask if they accept bitcoin as currency. Meanwhile if there are many customers who do the same question and they try to find the particular shop who accepts this medium of payment then their desire is a demand; In this way the merchants are forced to happily accept bitcoin in order to increase their customers base. 

As I have not used bitcoin till now for any of the purchase or bills I'll prefer bitcoin to experience how it works. Later on with the same I can get the advantages of using it.

I consider myself an investor of Bitcoin and not a silly spender. So given a choice, I would prefer fiat currency to pay to the shopkeeper. I would not touch my bitcoin unless it is absolutely needed.

As you have mentioned in the second paragraph, I too agree with it. With highly dynamic pricing, you will end up giving away your fortune for silly purchases. So I use fiat currency for my daily living and always save up my bitcoins for future. I will probably keep those bitcoin for another 5 years with me and then according to the market value, I will sell those for something really luxurious.

Of course I pay for fiat. What's the money you if you did not spend it. And therefore called bitcoin investment because you want to grow your money. If you have yet a fiat do not touch your bitcoin. Then you just spend the bitcoin when you have no money.

I will continue to use my Fiat since currently where I am, there is no place to buy anything that accepts btc and if I say I want to go online the amount I will be paying will be more considering the trust issues and other costs that will be embedded in the cost of the goods. All I need to do in curing myself of such stress is just to convert then buy. Simple as that.

I still prefer to pay in fiat because i dont want to spend my bitcoin for something that is not really needed. as an investor every seconds are important because of the movement of price, better to save than to spend. and in our location its very rare to see merchants accepting it as payment so even if you are fine spending your btc you have no choice but convert it first or get btc debit card to be able to use it.

Good question.Well, i would go with my fiat for the reason you have mentioned in your post.Bitcoin would grow day by day but fiat would remain almost same.Bitcoin is digital gold and nobody would be ready to spend it for buying some stuffs in shop.

But still I would want to wisely spend every satoshi after that. Looking at the price it says all the reason to keep it. Then, looking at the whole year of 2016 of how it grows drastically you will have a stronger reason to why hold it and add some more. Merchants will really have a hard time to sell their items through this currency. They should consider other options.

In my experience price for the same thing varies on different places. Before I buy anything I check prices first in shops close to me, then I look what is the price in other cities (here I always count delivery plus) and internet sale, I choose place where I have best price and terms. I don`t care so much which of the currencies I will use as much as I care about above written, and for now ebay, amazon, even some things in shops in my city same thing are cheaper then same thing for bitcoin (I didn`t try purse.io where we can buy giftcards for bitcoins and spent it at mentioned sites). I hope that will change, and bitcoin shops will need to think about making some discounts if they wish to attract customers.

I would prefer to use fiat in place of bitcoin for my daily purchases just because fiat has some fixed value. And bitcoin has a potential to grow. Therefore, I will use bitcoin rather as a potential investment. I wouldn't use bitcoin for purchases unless it is really required.

Your arguments are really correct and I think that most bitcoin users do exactly as you say. Bitcoin is a way to earn and spend bitcoin for a pittance will not be reasonable. Yes, and everyday life today without Fiat at all is impossible.

With the current scalability issue, I would prefer to use fiat when buying in local stores.  Aside from that the ever growing price value of Bitcoin is so enticing to keep it and hold it for a very long time.  Unlike fiat that depreciate in value, the diminishing feature of Bitcoin supply gives it a real advantage to keep and save it for the future.

It depends on the situation, if it was online shopping then I would prefer bitcoin because of its convenience in transactions. But if I was paying for my coffee in a hurried morning then I would totally go for fiat money. As bitcoin still have problems about the transaction time, most people including me don't have the tendency to use bitcoin in real life. Like when I bought coffee the other day using bitcoin directly, I had to wait about a half hour for it to be confirmed before I can leave :'(

I will use bitcoin because it will help the community to promote bitcoin in any other places by just using it to pay the expenses and by just using bitcoin as a payment for the expenses is a great way to show to the owners that you like bitcoin rather than fiat and by just that it will encourage other shops to accept bitcoin also.

This is a great trick, being clever on spending money is good especially the fact of fastness and easiness to us users and spenders. And so for me, I can have the same  way of spending my bitcoin and my fiat.

I use mainly BTC because it's much more convenient,but if I decide I want to keep my BTC I'll go for credit card for example.It all depends on whether you want to have more BTC in you wallet or not,and of course if you have another way of payment available

For shopping I would certainly use Bitcoin over fiat and the main reason is anonymity. There are two big problems at the moment: unconfirmed transactions and the small number of people using Bitcoin. What I'm wondering is how are these shops accepting Bitcoin making profit if a catastrophe like Bitfinex happens and there's suddenly a price freefall of +$300? Shops that have been accepting Bitcoin years ago might have had profit over time because of the increasing price, but a quick fall of it would create problems for the owners, wouldn't it?

Well i prefer using Bitcoin for shopping instead of fiat, if there is any possibility to pay via Bitcoin. But unfortunately there is no possibility to use Bitcoin offline in my country, i can only use it online or convert my BTC to fiat.

This is the main thing why owners would really hesitate to accept bitcoin as a form of payment for their goods because they are afraid on the volatility of bitcoin which they know they can lose profit anytime when bitcoins price would drop to the bottom.Bitcoin can be used on some stores but as of now its not possible on all parts of the world.

I simply choose fiat at this point because with bitcoin you would be forced to pay high fees every transaction if you don't put high fees your tx have a high chance of getting rejected. It's just more hassle imo as the network is flowing with countless transaction.

I would definitely use fiat in shops.Bitcoin has proved to be an ever growing currency.It has doubled in the last six months from $650 to $1250.I used to save my bitcoins for future of my family.May be bitcoin price may double in the next six months and it may reach $2500.

Since bitcoin price reach $1200 level and cause higher fees and it takes a long time to confirmed, I can't imagine how we could use it for buy an apple in a shop which it need more than (in fiat money) normal price to buy it as you need to pay higher fee too.
Another reason such as you have mentioned, people tend to save their bitcoin as long term investment due to the price grow up over time, so I vote for fiat money too.

Well Fiat Money is convenient for all people because it is the most use and not all can surely relate with bitcoin, and I think that the first fiat money that has been use in the galleon trade back then was just shell ornaments and silver, back then there are no specific currency for some countries that are not advance and back then it only needs the physical money for the transaction of trades and people then are more familiarize with fiat back then up till now!

It depends on demand because right now there are very few shops who are accepting bitcoin and cost of each product will also be high when compared to fiat. Once competition arises in between the shop for accepting bitcoin than many people will start using bitcoin when compared to fiat.

I would still use fiat, because bitcoins price is always fluctuating, so, I could lose profits by using it on buying stuffs online, that is why if I could use fiat to buy the certain stuff that I want to buy, I would prefer to use it over bitcoin. It is important to make wise decisions on using our bitcoin just like this, we don't need to use it on something like this if we do have another option, and we don't need to convert it if we don't need it, if the price gets high, it doesn't mean we have to convert our bitcoin, that is what I mean.

I will like to make a little analogy here as this: Bitcoin is money with intelligence while fiat is money in paper form. That's the way I always simply put it. If I were to choose between both as a means of payment, I will choose Bitcoin. It's easier for me in terms of doing transactions.

I will definitely choose bitcoin. I may keep having the idea that the value may increase tomorrow, but then that is how trade and life is. Good luck to the person at the receiving end. But if I keep leaving my bitcoin without spending, then when will I eventually spend it?  When the value is $10000 and I start hearing that the price may get to $1m. I can't spend bitcoin when I'm old and gone, so what is the point. Use bitcoin, buy more when you have some fiat to save and you still not loosing anything.
