Title: Top 10 Bitcoin Wallets in 2017
Post by: sonewaneaman on March 16, 2017, 12:13:34 AM
The Bitcoin wallets contain the private and public address, which is used to gain access to your Bitcoins. There are different types of Bitcoin wallets in the market so choosing among them is quite difficult. These wallets help you to go to destination to the store, receive and send Bitcoins. Here, in my article, I had shortlisted Top 10 Bitcoin wallets according to Company Reputation, Open Source/Security, Privacy, MultiSig account, Backup features and the Web Platform Availability. To know more please click http://atozforex.com/news/top-10-bitcoin-wallets-2017/ (http://atozforex.com/news/top-10-bitcoin-wallets-2017/)

Suggestions and comments appreciated. Please update me with the best bitcoin wallet you are using.  :)

Great lists of different wallet that are best of the best in the market. In that list i used blockchain.info wallet (web and their application) because it is easy for me to use it and that is where i started in bitcoin using that wallet and even if there is a case that it has been hacked before, i'm still comfortable and i feel secured with this wallet.

Nice list mate but I was a little vent. I actually prefer the look blockchain the former because it is more simple than it is today. especially at this time when I use blockchain to transact even if you use more than 20k satoshi fee. it will remain long time for confirmation?

I use blockchain.info as the main wallet. with various features as well as the convenience provided then I think blockhain.info wallet is the best there is at this time.

Gotta agree with you there, I prefer the old blockchain look.  As for wallets, Electrum seems like a good one, nice and light weight.  Maybe I missed it, but I'd probably throw a full blockchain wallet on the list too just in case somebody wants the full node experience.  Nice list.

Yes blockchain wallet is good for all sorts of usage. Mainly it gives a simple user interface as well the confirmation happens faster than the other wallet service. It gives ease of transaction in a much better way for the live gambling. Based upon this blockchain wallet is preferred over other wallets.

It looks like it was a good choice. Until now I only use web wallet from coinbase and xapo, use web wallet for me is enough and I never encountered a problem, if it's got great balance and I will move to the desktop wallet like mycelium or electrum.

That's good, friend. For someone who is looking for the best wallet can read this article, it will be easier. If I could add maybe Xapo including best bitcoin wallet. Although I think Xapo has a display that is less friendly, but they have good security and some interesting features such as bonus when signing up and more.

I use multibit, I started using it only because it was lightweight but now I feel good about it otherwise too. I'm glad its on your list too, though I've not used any other as of yet. At first I tried using the official blockchain, but it was too much memory and bandwidth consuming.
Nice article by the way, will be bookmarking your site.

blockchain.info is a nice wallet and it can be usefull to have it as your web wallet but never swith to it because it is not the safest wallet.
instead try cold storage and desktop wallets if you like keeping your coins and not getting hacked.

I am glad to see you placed Coinbase at the bottom, because it deserves that position with the bad customer support and all the strict AML/KYC regulations being applied, sometimes without merit or reason. I would have liked to see something like Xapo on there, but I guess it is not truly a Bitcoin wallet.  ???

Well Done, your rating was pretty close to mine. ^smile^

these two aren't bitcoin wallets, they are services that make you an account and work more like a bank rather than a bitcoin wallet.
and although the services they offer are good and useful but there are many risks involved with using these services that should be included when you are talking about them in a list called "bitcoin wallets"!

honestly i prefer to use core only, it's easy and with pruning you don't have to worry about the size of the blockchain, and you can use many wallet with it, just set prune to be 1-4 weeks in size, so you have room to change your wallet

all the other fancy wallet doesn't offer anything that is so useful more than core, and i'll never use an online wallet no matter how good they are, i like to have full control of my keys

I totally agree on the list you give, it's completely true, these wallets have been used by so many people and it has become popular for everyone. However, I have feelings like not about blockchain and coinbase. It is showing its backwardness and sluggishness in transactions, although for coinbase, when we use it as a private, you will be free to trade, but your deals are as bedsick. Management, all the money you received was transferred to another account. This makes transactions unclear and slow.

That is a quite few wallets in your list from the many number of wallets out there but for me I think I would use the most convenient wallet for me and that wallet is not on the Top 10 of that list and that is Coins.ph because surely I am from the Philippines  and yes it is the most convenient for me, I have a Coinbase and xapo wallet that are keeping my faucets and other stuff income for my bitcoin because Coins.ph doesn't have multiple address features in it but I can load up and pay instantly with that wallet here in my country they I can exchange my Bitcoin with Fiat wallet in an available bank that coins.ph has authorize.

I truly agree with that. I am also using blockchain.info wallets at this moment and after experiencing the functionalities and features of other web wallets I would rate blockchain.info wallet as the best wallet there is. Aside from having a lower fees it has also a feature that will make you get out of the long wait until bitcoin is received in your wallet. Using blockchain.info when withdrawing my funds in bitsler it will just take a seconds and instantly my bitcoins have appeared already on my balance.

I don't think that Xapo has the great security since it has a review on a blog that it has only a moderate security compared to other wallet which has good security review. Plus, other features of as other wallet has aren't in Xapo which causes many people to use common wallet such as coinbase and blockchain.info. Overall, it is on the people on what wallet they prefered and what wallet they are comfortable to use with.

For receiving BTC and using for frequent payments, I use the blockchain.info wallet.  I like their second password feature.  You can also import addresses there fairly easily (from Opendime devices for example).

For cold-storage I like hardware wallets, so far I like the Digital Bitbox the best, but have had pretty good success with the Trezor and the Ledger Nano (the older one).  Using hardware wallets to secure BTC that you intend to keep is highly recommended!

In this list, there is a type of purse that I am using, which is Coinbase. I started using Coinbase last October. When I know bitcoin, I did not use it, instead I used Blockchain.info through the introduction of a friend. Later, due to Blockchain transaction fees being too high, I was not eligible to meet, so I switched to Coinbase. When you receive or transfer Bitcoin, you will does not transaction fee. But besides, its transaction speed is slow. Nowadays, the status of hack accounts so much so the use of online wallet as Coinbase is not really safe. I am interested in Electrum, I found it also a kind of wallet pretty good.

What is the source of income for those wallets providing you with private keys? since you can at any time use your key to transact from anywhere else.
Are they just depending on the fees their miners linked to their wallet's node get when mining blocks?

This is the main reason why I shifted from multibit HD to electrum.  Worst of Multibit HD service is that the annoying import of its obsolete Multibit Classic which I think we cannot directly import to Multibit HD, funny isn't it?  I searched for the method in the faqs but I cannot find any documents there that tells about transporting wallet address from Multibit Classic to Multibit HD.

I use blockchain.info only, like the ther say, because it is simple. I ever used coinbase, but I didn't like the layout. it doesn't really matter as a meter of fact. just want to see good thing visually.
to me i am also using two type of bitcoin wallet one is blockchain and the second is yobit. although there  are so  many other trusted bitcoin wallet but to me i am using these two for such a long time.
To be honest, a wide range, number of people were using Blockchain, Coinbase, Xapo such of online wallet. Even I have used coinbase earlier, but due to some issue I have started using block chain, but there need not any argue these two wallets though these aren't secure Bitcoin wallet so far.

It's a good article, Thanks for your opinion about top 10 bitcoins wallet, in 2017.
For me, I usually use xapo wallet, which they not listed in the top 10. I don't know why exactly, you don't considert it in your wallets list, I like it because there, Transactions without fees and it offer a high secure to accounts. By the way, I also use blockchain since a long time. It's one of olds secure wallets too.

It's not that the transactions are actually without fees, so Xapo must have some kind of underhand way related to people spending in their wallet which makes them enough money to cover the costs.  You should be able to customise and manage your fees properly like you can with Blockchain.

Coinbase a third party wallet. I think they have control over your bitcoin? although this time they are reliable but do not rule out the possibility of risk to your bitcoin will still be there?

Yes, coinbase is so easy to hold on and less tension using it unlike other online wallet. And there is no problem I encountered yet. No transaction fee is also another great feature which coin base offers. I think we should use coinbase if your involved in the business where there is a frequent sending required.

I think the best online wallet is Bittrex.
in bittrex, you can sell and knowing Traffic coin sales

Bittrex is not bitcoin wallet, bittrex an exchanges
not recommended to store you all bitcoin in exchanges. if exchanges that got hacked you lost you all btc
because you can't control your btc there.
I just found out.
so wallet is perfect for saving my bitcoin was what ???
preferably with security safest

a wallet that actually has very good security, in my opinion, is Xapo,
Why do I suggest Xapo ?? because every time you go into Xapo requires Verify the phone number and it was very good in my opinion.

I also often use the wallet of the exchangers such as bittrex and poloniex, as long as it has not encountered a problem. I think it depends, if we will use for trading, certainly could use the wallet of the exchangers directly, but if we for saving, use desktop wallet.

Good to know,..quite enlightened.

Many people are just interested in the low fees has offered by the xapo wallet. In my experience with the xapo wallet and I get a lot of the problem for use the xapo wallet. I think jaxx is much better rather than use the xapo wallet, with friendly user interface.
According to the https://bitcoinfees.21.co/ and the current reliable transaction fees is 50k satoshi. I believe if your transaction takes a lot of the time to get delivered.

No, you're wrong. i think if the bitcoin network gets spam attack and your transaction will take a day to gets delivered. With no fees and it will be rational if your transaction will get stuck on the bitcoin network. I guess based on a lot of the aspects and 0 fees transaction is not a recommended thing right now. All of the 3rd parties wallets are not the best choice for everyone right now.

I absolutely concede to the rundown you give, it's totally valid, these wallets have been utilized by such a large number of individuals and it has turned out to be prevalent for everybody. Nonetheless, I have sentiments like not about blockchain and coinbase. It is demonstrating its backwardness and drowsiness in exchanges, despite the fact that for coinbase, when we utilize it as a private, you will be allowed to exchange, yet your arrangements are as bedsick. Administration, all the cash you got was exchanged to another record. This makes exchanges misty and moderate

Good way to get free traffic but also an informative post. Specially for the newbies who are still thinking about the bitcoin wallet. I mainly use hardware wallet for big amount. However, I also use two online wallets for smaller transactions.

I love coinbase because of their no fees feature. So whatever micro payments I receive or make, I do it from the CoinBase wallet. I have using their service for long and till date haven’t faced any single issue.

I also use one Blockchain wallet which I use mainly for trading purpose. I basically do it for my own accounting purpose. It would help me to differentiate between by signature campaign and other payments and Blockchain for trading payments.

I like to think they have no idea who Satoshi is, and end up dumbstruck "why has this satoshi guy been laughing at me for 2 years?" along with hundreds of replies back to the bot to stop laughing, please please dont laugh at me, it isnt funny, etc etc.

After using so many digital currency mobile wallets, I currently prefer to use the smartcoinswallet. You can also use this mobile wallet as a point of sale for merchants, to accept any digital currency as payment (Blockpay). See below:

I have also heard good things about CoPay, so I'm gonna try it out as my secondary.
As for my web wallet, I use greenaddress.

To my point of view some of these are belonging to worldwide known wallets but I don't agree with your classification. All in the same basket (web, desktop, HD wallets). More over it is very subjective because there are no explanations why mycelium is the 1st and so on. That is, armory and electrum in 3rd and 5th position for what reasons from these which you already have mentioned? And Airbitz? How many users using it? Where is something like ledger? So I could propose another classification using different rating scale according the features which taken under your consideration. That is a rating scale for open source/security and a different one for web availability.

Block chain has remained the most valuable of all Bitcoin wallets. And it will continue to remain that way unless something innovative like ease of transfer and fund safety happens with other wallet providers. I will like to see a situation where all altcoins also begin to use the blockchain wallet.

Yeah right. For the Filipinos the most convenient one is coins.ph.  And I am also using coins.ph because of it friendly user and it has many features to offer. And the coins.ph team are very friendly and accommodated to every user.

Yup! very friendly indeed, reminders or messages always pops up in your face too, to keeps you reminded of whats new and whats is the updated all about or new features added on the wallet, I think that is very informative in my opinion and the 1 time something pops up that is the time when I need it the most because in that time there are holiday breaks and the bank that are authorize to withdraw the bitcoin was not available on that dates, that is why I just withdraws it ahead on that date.

Whatever wallet may come into existence one after another my all time favorite is blockchain.info because it's official and I have full trust on it. And on any third party wallet I can't trust them.

I also use blockchain.info wallet rather than any wallet because it doesn't takes a lot of time when i transfer money because i received bitcoin instantly even there is no confirmations yet. I think it is because it is official and it is the main source of the other wallet so there is no problem in blockchain unlike other online wallet.

I agree that Electrum is in #5( which I'm currently using) it's pretty easy to use and I haven't
encountered any problem using it nor seen anyone complaining about their service(yet). I'm
also using coin base for my small transactions but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone because of
its previous reputation.
Well, I have to admit that I actually love Electrum, which is kind of strange for me, I really like the user interface and it is fairly easy to use.
I really value transparent wallets, and I need to say that in my opinion, Electrum is one of those.
Exporting or importing keys is insanely easy and very instinct, my friend made it in like 30 seconds without even using electrum before.

Anyway, there are many interesting wallets and im sure we may see even more creating.
Im waiting for new interesting features ;) they need to attract customers somehow, right?

According to me
1. Coinbase (Even though they now have fees it is still a good wallet)
2. Xapo (No fees 8) )
3. Desktop wallet ( Too much time to sync)
4. Block.io (Good interface and really easy to use)

In that list, i still preferred xapo because it still free in terms of fees and it is secured because it is not that easy to open or get access with an account. I put like 40% of my bitcoins there because i feel comfortable and not that hassle if i will do transaction because it doesn't cost even 0.01$, xapo is the best for me.

For me you do not need to know the best wallet or the top wallet in other country. Because on choosing a wallet one should consider the specific country where the lived in. Because the function of the wallet depends on the currency of a country. Here in my country blockchain is functional as the us dollars i accepted and dominant currency. But i consider blockcahin as a secondary wallet for the reason of fee on every transaction you will make. I used an application wallet called coin.ph as my primary wallet that can do many transaction such as paying, buying load or converting so it suitable and handy.
