Title: Question about the output screen -- CGMiner Post by: pccs on April 23, 2013, 09:43:47 AM Here's my output from CGMiner, what does the Diff 1/1 mean? Is it related to: Connected to stratum.btcguild.com diff 1 with stratum Is there a way to raise it, and is there any benefit to doing that? I've noticed on other screen shots that the numbers are higher than mine. Eventually hashing speeds will be so fast that the servers won't be able to keep up with a 1 diff, and thus it will need to be increased.

Title: Re: Question about the output screen -- CGMiner Post by: Rawted on April 25, 2013, 04:08:00 PM a share is a share. even if the share solves a block, it's valued the same. most pools are pps or pplns, so if you find one that pays on the weight of the share's value, please let all of us know ;) . The only real 'weighing' done by pools on shares is in regards to age, and not size (i.e. slush's pool places less weight on older shares vs newer shares to combat pool hopping).
