Bitcoin by Christmas 2018?

Well, it's still a long journey and we are even don't know what happen on Christmas 2017. If the bitcoin's price increase at Christmas 2017, i'm sure it will also increase on at Christmas 2018. I predict the price of bitcoin will reach up to $2000-$2500 per coin.

If they don't split blockchain by then I'd say from $2000 and up to $2300 and if segwit is activated by then we should see $3000 up to $3500 hopefully.

we are forced to vote for $2000 because all the other choices are wrong.

the $200 is stupid because unless end of the world is supposed to come to bitcoin tomorrow there is no other way that price is reached.

the moon is also stupid and i go as far as saying $5000 is also. the Japan has created a big market and a massive new demand but apart from that i cannot see a rise that big inside this year.

and i didn't vote $1200 because that would meen no rise at all and that is also impossible.

More days are there to celebrate the XMAS 2018, by every year end close to the days of Christmas price increase happens. This time too if the current increase continues we'll surely reach $2000 because in the meantime bitcoin gains lot of adoption from big corporates and financial sectors.

$2000 is a pretty good estimate,  and with 1.5 years to get there, it's certainly possible.   On the other hand,  those of you who think $200 isn't in the realm of possibility,  I'd suggest you think again.   All it would take is for sentiment to get really negative,  and that could happen too.

I'd say it'll have healthy growth like it did in 2016 and rise by a few hundred dollars.  

I'd be surprised to see it anywhere over $2000 or under $1300.  Since it reached an ATH near the ETF I think that >$1300 is easily possible and Bitcoin will steadily rise in value due to lots of people storing value in it and not using it as a currency very often.

It will be over on that price range just by reading the price history. Bitcoin already reached that amount before ETF denied and it means that will be easy to reached once old investor transfer again funds to btc. ETH is on high amount now but before christmas it will be dump soon. I predict that it will be on price range of 1600-1800$.I'm currently holding and hoping for buying a lambo.

It is safe to say the $2000 mark so I voted for it, well I think it will be almost near that value and a lot have already voted for it, but a year gap between the value of bitcoin is pretty questionable and many are doubting it to reach that point well all other price range was pretty detestable and unreal for me for the time being, well i pretty think a slight move of it can make your heart pound do you?

Are you some kind of expert?  Do you have a crystal ball?  What knowledge do you have that others don't that makes you think you know better than the rest?  A little humility will take you a long way, mate.  I recommend you have some.

Btw, I voted 2000 USD just like you.  With the lock on the scaling drama, that's being optimistic.  I could also see this not going anywhere.  But who knows...  No one can really predict these things.

Another choice didn't make a sense for me, $2000 will be the best choice according to the japan to be a friendly country with bitcoin in the future. I will be speculating more common companies in Japan are interested in joining in the bitcoin business such as Mitsubishi. Another good news or bullish news if there will more store starting to accept bitcoin to be a legal payment on his store. In my conclusion, japan has a lot of the bullish or support to the bitcoin in the future. This will give another hype to the bitcoin market. If UASF will be being true in the future and $2000 asap

With all such awareness and numerous new people involved in Bitcoin next floor should be above 2000$ by the Xmass this year. Small ups and downs are taking places but overall we Bitcoin is remaining at 1200$ range which means next spike will take it to there. I also have voted for this option.

Assuming Segwit by that time is activated - If the price isn't sitting at least in the $1800-$2200 range, I will be greatly disappointed. In case Segwit still isn't activated, and thus we remain in the same situation as is the case right now, then the range will be more like $700-$1300. I wouldn't even be surprised if we dive under the $700 level in that regard, because the longer it takes before Bitcoin is finally operating larger blocks, the stronger people's fear and uncertainties will become.

Christmas 2018 is a long way off, there could be a whole heap of stuff that happens between then and now.  I would say $5,000 at that time would be nice and not too far fetched.

Bitcoin has very solid growth more people are getting involve with cryptocurrency so that I think it would be around $5000 we have still very long time to reach that time frame. On Christmas price would be $2000 recent trend is showing a moon there.

I noticed that Christmas pump continuously in every December. This is the time we can many huge spikes apart from the halving. Last year halving price bumped around 800$ and more after the Christmas price flight to 1300$ due to continuous pump till February.
Mostly in Christmas time, most of the people will be on leave or move vacation outings. In this time especially price spikes huge. I really looking forward to know the reason behind it.

I also voted for $2000 by Christmas $2018, although we are still far from it, a lot can happened, maybe the scaling drama is over by that time so the only obstacles has been hurdled already and bitcoin will enjoy the best year in 2018 can will make the price go to $2000. I also factor in the legality of certain countries to adopt bitcoin like Japan did right now so I speculate it will touch $2000 in 2018.

Bitcoin by Christmas in 2018 I think it is still very long and far, so it is uncertain whether the price will be better or not. But if the price of bitcoin continue like now that tend to rise and did not fall of long-standing, at Christmas 2018 maybe the price could reach about $ 2,000 - @ 2,500. We better see how bitcoin in the future and we will know what the price of bitcoin later ;D But I believe prices at Christmas 2018 will be better than it is now.

It's 100% going to be moon. I have no doubt in my mind. No lower than $100 million each. This year's going to be great and the next year is going to be even better. Trump will abolish the USD and only use bitcoins. China will follow suit, every corner store will accept bitcoins and we'll all live happily ever after.

I voted for 2000$ as many other users. But honestly I think it's too early to make predictions for Christmas, who knows what may happen till that time? Many factors affect bitcoin's price and in this period everything can change.

I voted for 5k but I think more like $3500. Bitcoins will probably ~double each year at this point in time, on average. There are going to be bumps in the road though, so $4k or $5k I don't see happening, but $3.5k seems realistic.

Maybe when bitcoin prices will be hitting $2000, it may create more hype among the rest of the people unlike what we had when bitcoin prices were reaching $1000 in the beginning of this year. I am believing only into those non-bitcoiners, for taking bitcoin prices in to new heights like $5k/10k/50k/100k. It's quite far away, but from the given options $2000 seems to be a reasonable target. It will give the price enough time to develop. I however keep holding a defensive stance as long as Bitcoin isn't scaling. It's the only thing that prevents Bitcoin from moving forward. If that's out of the way, there will literally not be anything that can stop Bitcoin from growing. But as it is today, it's an annoying obstacle that needs to get cleared.

I also dream of $100 million  each but it won't happen till Christmas of 2018.  I also believe Trump does not care about Bitcoin and have nothing to do with Bitcoin and he won't dare abolish the centuries old proven currency of US of A.  I would think $1500 - $2000 is a fair range and more realistic than speculation way above it.  The continuous boom of Bitcoin in Japan,  China regulation which can bring merchant trust to accept Bitcoin and other country following either Japan or China's approach to BTC will certainly give it a boost in adoption but it is a short span of time to say Bitcoin will reach $3k and up.  Always think the possible resistance to the price increase.

Mostly people think that bitcoin will come at $2000 and i also agree on it. But i also think that bitcoin will be under $1500 to $2000. Because many chances are here that bitcoin will come at $1500 to $1800. May be bitcoin can't cross $2000.

5000$ is way too high, and 1200$ is quite too low, so I elected 2000$. I might have been tempted by 2500$ or 3000$, but finally, after reflection time, I think that 2000$ looks like the wisest option.

It's definitely not possible to hit 5000 consistently in 2018 unless we get enormous adoption increases or some kind of Mt. Gox stuff pushing price up. 1800-2000 is pretty reasonable imo, we could go a little above or below that but anything higher is pretty improbable. Ofc with the immaturity we see in Bitcoin today one fell swoop can bring us right back to around 800 with all the paid shills everywhere spreading FUD.

We can expect price to get double in approximately 2 years of time so $2000 seems too low for me. The next bitcoin mining rewards halving is expected to happen by early 2020 or late 2019 also which means 2018 December is almost one year before next halving and very much right time for big rally to take place.

I believe $5000 prices are more possible by end of 2018 in mean time we can expect bitcoin will become versatile to handle more transactions and will be attracting more investors and new people. Really exciting future ahead !

I do expect a good rally when there is a solution for the slow transactions which we are facing right now and when that is settled we could see another rally but no one knows when that solution will be and that is the saddest part,hope to see a bright future and i would like to see yet another good rally because i was late into bitcoin and i do not mind making some good profit with it. :)

Once we are able to breach the $1300 level then we will be talking about $1650 and it only takes a good couple of days of bull run to reach the so called $2000 ,but to reach those values there are a lot of things which is holding the price back and if everything smoothen out then the speculation will become a reality. :) and we have a lot of time left for that.

There is a general sentiment about $2000 in around 2018 for some reason, so it may become true. I also think $2000 is a good number to reach next years, even tho bitcoin grows in violent bubbles, so $5000 is a possibility too, hard to dump at $2000 when it can keep climbing.

I'm guessing $2000 because that's a year and a half and we have already seen the price rise to $1300. It doesn't seem like an unreasonable amount by then. Of course there will be fluctuation and even if it hits $2000, it may not stay that high.

The majority seems to think Bitcoin will cross $2000 and so do I. There is strong resistance at these levels ($1200), but I think once these levels are crossed, we will have a bull rally. We can easily cross $2000 by Christmas time.

Maybe we will have a bull rally to $2000+ but I know if a rally comes there will be a peak and of course I expect a dump to occur soon. We might even go back to sub $1000 by that time so I voted $1200 since Christmas 2018 is not near yet and of course dumps can happen as well as pumps so I think bitcoin will not be even near $2000 by that time but it might be reached before Christmas 2018 happens.

2000 in a year and a hal + doesn't sound that far fetched. Bitcoins rose a lot more in 2016 than I expected, so 2017 will be another volatile yet in the end great year, then almost a year after that is Christmas 2018, so $2000 would be my low estimate.

No one can accurately predict this, now everyone expects the maximum price increase. In the case of popularization of bitcoin, such an outcome is quite possible and perhaps even more, it all depends on the users.

$1300 is nothing.  The price has already breached it, in the build up to the ETF decision.

Bitcoin has been steadily (well, not steadily, but it has been) growing since its beginning.  Just last year the value was under $500.

If you don't count the 2013 pump, you'll find that Bitcoin has a long way to go just based on technical analysis.  A rise from $1300 to $2000 really wouldn't be that much, especially in about a year and a half.

That's right its impossible to predict what will be the exact value of bitcoins in future but it will be definitely higher then what we are witnessing at a moment and if the adoption gets huge then we can expect some really good price of bitcoin by that time.

May I what effect will take bitcoin price upto 5000$ in next year Christmas. I know every year Christmas there is price pump normally. However, This effect do a bump for 200$ or 300$ in that bitcoin but taking more than 3000$ and more will not be possible at all. Atleast you need to wait till next halving to see this price.

I'm glad to see most of us have a more realistic view on the growth potential.

There's a thread about an external prediction that calls for $10,000 by 2030. If this poll claims $2,000 by end of 2018 and we broadly say that there's confidence in a $500 increase per year (based on current price and the expectation of $2,000 by 2018). Based on these assumptions we'll add another $7,000 in value per coin over the next 14 years (or by 2030). That brings us to a total price of $8,200 by 2030...not bad!

Of course, all of this is just talk. There's no data at all for any of our comments or predictions...but talk can be fun.

This is easy to expect that I really believe in predictions which assume that bitcoin price will achieve the areas above 5000$ in next year ( 2018 ) but let's be serious, we dont really think that it will become true.
It is only a dream for all those who hold big amount of bitcoins, a dream that isn't likely to fulfill in next 3 years in my opinion, 5000 USD is a price that is too high for a bitcoin these years, it would be extremely overvalued right now.

Without big growth in cryptocurrency community, we shouldn't see such a rise, it may only cause a bad things going on markets, because the bitcoin isn't ready for such a big price increase.

I fully agree. But I like to make it even more simple. SegWit is never going to reach its 95%. So forced SegWit = 20000 usd, non forced = 200 usd or dead

In my opinion, we may be having an exchange rate of somewhere between $2,000 and $3,000 by the end of this year. And by the end of 2018, I hope that the exchange rate may touch $5,000.

In my opinion, it will reach $1500, its really hard to imagine that BTC's market cap would double within 6-7 months.

I am just speculating that in two years the problem about scaling and high transaction fees and confirmation time is already solved. It must be or bitcoin is dead by then. So, by christmas 2018, we are already on the moon. I hope so.

As said above, several big issues are in the conclusion state. In future if anymore issues doesn't get initiated then at least we will reach $2000. Quoted price might look big, but in my prediction it looks as a possible one which has the increased chance of reaching.

There will be ups and downs, some major, some minor with the usual dips and spikes, but barring any catastrophic event(s), the general trend seems to be a continuous upwards direction. By that time, the next halving hype talk will start - not that it will be any different from the other halving events. Anyway, I don't need for it to go to the moon by 2018. I'm patient. The chance is that the block size and transaction speed issues got a good solution until then are big.
Since I am "rather pessimistic" I will not vote "moon", but I certainly expect much more than $2000.

Seems all want to see bitcoin price rise but me dont want see dump or pump coming in this year maybe if the price keep stable would be nice and in the next year we already have big wall and the price wouldnt easy down.

I have polled for 2000$ and its seems the high as speculated here. I would also go with that and price will be reach to the touch the next peak value. Adoption over bitcoin and block chain technology has been increased in high numbers in this year especially.

Yes, awkward is definitely the right word here. As for the real Bitcoin price close to Christmas 2018, I think it can reach 15-20 thousand. Maybe even more.

Too many people are vouching $2k, why many people are too pessimistic about bitcoin? but now we can see the bitcoin has penetrated the $9k figure and I'm sure it will go up again, why so many who voting very low prices, should we all here support the bitcoin in full.

If speculations and predictions of experts will fall into place, then this year will be a better year for bitcoin than last year. It's been predicted that bitcoin will have its peak sometimes in 2020's and it's just only few years away from now. So just hodl your bitcoin and your favorite altcoins for these would have a great value on that time too.

We can't help those people if they only see the negative side. Maybe they want to see it at that price so they can collect more and more and start buying once it was reached. We don't know if that is for real but this is just a poll and only few participated.

The price on the poll is already reach by bitcoin last year. And maybe the price thia coming Christmas might be doubled on the last ATH price.

We are in the earlier months so hard to say what maybe the amount of btc by this end of the year 2018. Though we can guess maybe more than $15k on your predicted price. But let's always come to the point on observing the market through this year.

Another ATH is what we all wanted but since the market is increasing too slow may be a $12k can be a good amount to end the year, but who knows it will skyrocket to the moon after it fully recovers.

In fact this is not strange at all, as it is a predicted result from york780's brother on April 14, 2017, and at that time the traded bitcoin price is only between $ 1,224- $ 1,318.

2018 will definitely end on an upper note than 2017. Bitcoin will easily breach the last year's ATH of $20k. Many of the senior analysts are predicting $25k+ as a projected price for this year. With $25k we are talking about the mcap of half a trillion. With keeping BTC dominance at 40%. The total mcap of the crypto market will cross a trillion trademark. With Goldman Sachs and Nasdaq getting interested in crypto trading desk which will eventually help in bringing new investors and bring the mcap above a trillion.

I am expecting a great second half for bitcoin in 2018. Last year forks and bitcoin futures affected the market, this year it will be lightning network and Nasdaq!

With those extremely low numbers, I could only vote for "moon" option clearly. By the end of 2018, bitcoin could reach about $20-30k price level and this will be another bull market for the crypto currencies. Not only BTC, the other led by ETH will also increase strongly. Spreading fud and fear doesn't work as we all know this from past.

I believe that bitcoins by christmas will be just the same as last year, the price of bitcoins reach $19k last year so there is a chance that the price today will surpass the previous value so keep on holding your coins.

It looks like this year Bitcoin has repeatedly bleeding correction. I am always optimistic Bitcoin will have an upward price, but seeing the price of the market move is slow, I am not setting a high target for the end of this year. My opinion the price will arrive at 25k$ before end of year.

i wonder if there is people who vote for $200 because if we see the current price i think percentages to fall at that price is almost impossible also i think most of bitcoin users don't want to see bitcoin dropped to $200 because if this is happened then people who hold bitcoin will facing stress situations however on my predictions at Christmas this year bitcoin price will through pass $10k

Spreading the opposite - irrational hopes for the future - doesn't work either. Just because you mention "$20-30k" in post on Bitcointalk doesn't mean it'll happen.

These claims are as ridiculous as FUD when it comes without an ounce of rationale, support, logic, etc. Do you have any such support?

I shall say $30k max and $20k min. Basing on how the market behave these days. But with what happened last year it could go beyond $30k. No one would really know what will be the outcome until we're close approaching that season.

20k should be the minimum as it would like to create a new high as compared to last year so we can expect the market to rise and as it is nearing 10k those who had stayed away considering it may fall will also start entering the market to buy now.

My fearless prediction is that new ATH this coming christmas. ;D

It is yet early to tell whether this year will be a much brighter year for bitcoin than last year. But with the current uptrend of bitcoin's market capitalization and price, we can feel how bitcoin is going to be in the next couple of months which may be more than what it has reached last year.

There is high expectation that Bitcoin market value will appreciate significantly before end of December this year and so many people will have enough money to celebrate Christmas this year.

I didn't vote in the POLL, because I think bitcoin in Christmas is hard to predict, We cannot say and no one will ever say if bitcoin can still go up, up to more than the last ATH's last year but why not? There is nothing wrong to think positive because as we can see, bitcoin now is recovering.

Everybody in this forum wants to rise in the price. Everyone wants profit against his investment. I think that till Christmas 2018 the price will be more than $20k, because of the increasing investment volume. People are putting their money in bitcoin because they know the importance of bitcoin. They realize that the future is that of cryptocurrency.

I think till Christmas 2018 the price of bitcoin will be more than 20000 dollars because now the price is on the way up and soon it will reach to 10000 dollars. People are putting their money in bitcoin today because they want quick response while other cryptocurrency are very slow in growth and they will take a long time to give good profit.

I have a feeling that this year is better for cryptocurrencies than last year. Why? Because bitcoin is showing us an early price hike before the end of the second quarter. Considering that last year is the year where cryptocurrencies unite in the global financial system, i expect that the demand of people on cryptos will rise this year too.

In 2 and a half quarters to come, Christmas 2018 will be there again. That is how fast the time flies nowadays. And within this period, I must say that bitcoin is very unpredictable. We don't have any assurance on where bitcoin is heading but it is sure that it's price may change either will it go up or down. The thing is, we have to be good in observation and analysis. We have to be wise in predictions. I did not vote because I don't think there is an exact price for this.

I voted moon of course, because maybe it will happen like in last year that bitcoin reached the highest price in December, I predict maybe $30,000 price in December.

It is natural and just like a movie. If there is no villain and no thrill in the movie, it will be a boring film, but when there is a horrible villain people take interest in that movie. The same is here in crypto world. Some people do not want bitcoin to be spread in the world. That’s why the give such a false statement about bitcoin to prevent people from investing.

Yeah your feeling is good about the price of bitcoin. I also think that 2018 is the year of bitcoin and more people will put their money in bitcoin. When investment ratio increases the price will also increase. There are more than seven months in Christmas and hope the price will grow more not rapidly but gradually. i guess the price will be more than $13k till Christmas.

2018 is the year of bitcoin and I guess that till Christmas this year the price will be more than $15k. The price is increasing gradually according to investment cap. If it continuous likes this I hope till the end of this year the price will be round about $15k. It is also possible that many people sell their bitcoin for Christmas shopping which can affect the price.

I'll be happy if we see bitcoin breaks and goes to another ATH at the end of the year. We can all relived that days in 2017 wherein everyone was very elated and happy seeing the price goes to almost $20K. However, I would put too much expectations right now, as we all know that there are a lot of regulations from government that might hinder our growth this year. That's why if it goes to another ATH then so be it, but if not then I'm still be OK with that as long as we are above the 5 digit mark.

Well it shows from this poll that people didn't expect what happened december last year since the results were pretty modest. Having experienced 20k placed a lot of false hopes and assumptions into people's minds and it'll only make it a lot more unstable.
