Post by: Cryptogrifff on April 20, 2017, 06:54:55 PM

PM me with what you would do and I'll sent a gift to the person who gives me the best answer ;)

Why PM?  You don't want to have a public conversation about your website marketing potential, or not?

For one thing such a "ii" a misspelling and plural seem to carry very low value, no?  What is the value of a double "i" ?  Your idea about potential marketing may be better than anyone will come up with in a public thread, no?

Domain name is biitcoin.com ? The term biitcoin sounds like an altcoin and I believe it will not attract crypto users similar to bitcoins.com or anything relevant to that. I am sorry to say I am not finding myself exciting to consider about owning this domain even just for reselling purpose.

what you would do and I'll sent a gift to the person who gives me the best answer ;)
Why you are doing this ? You got it for free ? Anyway I guess it will get more attraction among this community if you move this topic into service board, in some sense your discussion sounds like contest to me.

Create a new coin called Biitcoin and use that domain as the dev page. /s :)

Why you are doing this ? You got it for free ?

He's probably doing it because he bid for it over at this auction thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1878893.0), is pumped for the ownership of the domain, but doesn't really have a good idea on what to do with it.

Honestly, that double i ruins the domain name.
Unless there's some serious SEO value, aka highly aged or historically good backlinks from previous website (which it doesn't).

I see you've made a bid, if I were you I'd pull out, but it's your call.

Do you own bittcoins .com ? I dont think you did a good investment there. That domain doesn't hold enough technical value or is of any relevance. If I owned that domain,I'd start a business which hasn't implemented  actively in the niche .
You can start a newbie bitcoin beginner site or something.

If I owned the  bitcoins.com then I will start my writing job with this site , Because Currently one and only one best way of earning is advertisment , if I will put everything about the bitcoin related things then surely every site will take interest in my site for the advertisement and in this way I will make lot of earning .
Here my idea is same , I don't need to PM you , just start today your hardwork and get your success .
In the success way it may be possible that you can't get profitable advertisement for your site but I am.sure with big traffic you can get your desired amount of money for the advertisement sponsorship .

I'd put a big flashing middle finger to pop up whenever someone opens the main page :D anyone connecting from any country the back ground should change to their country's flag then would've made the pages sliding horizontally and every sub-page/ sub-folder/ sub-menu vertically aligned to their main page, no clickable links whatsoever.

I would've implemented a service in which people could just by opening the site and entering a link to a software then download that software then run it on your dedicated vps which after registering and paying the cost they could always access their vps through your site but that would require heavy skills in coding.

Edit: now be a nice person and send me my 0.5BTC gift.

Honestly, I can't think of anything that I could do with that domain name. We are in a crypto industry and people might think of that domain name as a scam site or other may look at it as a website that might steal their precious BTC. I think it wouldn't attract many traffic at all because of the double "i" in it. It does not provide any appeal at all. Well, these are just my point of views about the domain that you presented above.

The domain name is little bit confusing so better change it rather than staying on that name since im pretty sure that people would not love to take a peek on your site since it look likes a wasted name or lazy one. So change the name before you seek for better advices so that people will not conclude that your program is not good to stay on.

But anyways goodluck for idea seeking maybe you can get relevant thoughs that can help for your needs.

He can't change a domino name lol he has to buy a new domain.Domian name and its epicness is secondary for any successful business.Infact the best bitcoin business are the ones with no bit or coin in their domains.

It's a pretty bad domain really.  There are a lot of domains that are vaguely similar to Bitcoin or Bitcoins, and the OP, who is probably actually the owner of the domain and is trying to get people to buy it, can't expect to get a lot of money from the bad domain.

It's just a typo error.  It's the sort of thing that you would put a scam site on, like a slight variation of a known domain that someone would put in as a typo.

It's not good enough to get traffic just for existing, and it doesn't look professional, so there's really no reason to have the domain.

I guess he is not ready to pay anything big and that is the reason he come up with offering a domain.

Honestly I could find any business which are suitable for the name biitcoins except a bitcoin faucet. Because faucets are alone coming up with this kind of crazy names.

The term biitcoin sounds like an altcoin
I agree because anything which coming up with slight modifications from bitcoin ecosystem must be treated as an altcoin related stuff. There is bytecoin and why not biitcoin as an altcoin lol  ;)

It would have been better if you had asked this question before bidding such a high amount for it buddy. It is not even a good typo instead people typing your domain would be suggested bitcoin.com by Google

Frankly speaking, this domain has very little value.

Unless you can explain why there is double "ii" in the name, it will look like an error to most people.
Historically domain names with double letters/errors are not considered to be worthy cornerstone to build a business on it.

Most devs will rather think of unique and new name for their service/website.

It's not just that, but also the fact that most of these so called error domains are mostly used as a phishing site.

I remember last year if you Google the word blockchain, that error domains like bl0ckchain, blokkchain, blockchaiin were popping up (they are glady removed by Google already as they were phishing sites).

I don't see any value in such a domain. From the 100 people I am fairly sure that at least 75% of the people will avoid visiting such sites. It doesn't look trustworthy at all.

Maybe you have identified the value of the site, as a phishing site?

So whatever is the value of the fishing site is the value of this "ii" site.

I'd immediately think the website was a scam trying to pass off as Bitcoins.com and just click away.  The double i is very sketchy

i think its hard to promote biitcoins.com as we can see that its just typo of bitcoins word and i think people is hard to found the domain but if we only make simple project then we need to determine about the keyword that we want to use and then we can promote the domains. i think we need to make decision what we want to do with the domains then we can move into other step which is create the site and fill with the article or picture.

Yes, most of the people think it is a scamming website because of that ii in place of i. It was more than 10 years ago when people used to think like that when they needed a domain and it was not available.
To OP: if I would be the owner of Bitcoin.com domain then I would just make it an awareness website with all the details about Bitcoin and its current price rate with exchange websites details.

What should I do with my own bitcoins? Can I use it for online shopping? Or can I use it for online banking!?

Are you posting in the correct thread?

You can do whatever the fuck you want with your bitcoins.

Depending on your location, your lifestyle and your options that are available.

Some people engage in some commerce activities with their bitcoins, and other people buy and hodl and other people engage in trading on exchanges and others use for remittances.  I think that there is a little bit of variation regarding why people buy bitcoins and why there continues to be ongoing upwards price pressures.

But in the end, what do those questions have to do with the topic of this thread?

It has no real value since bitcoins.com is not a site at all. It's just an empty domain, which means that there is nothing to gain. It will have some sort of a value if the site that it is trying to mimic has value as well.

Example ~
Facebook.com ~ facbook, faceb00k, fecebook, fecabook.
Poloniex.com ~ pol0niex, poleniex, p0l0niex, polonjex.
Microsoft.com ~ nnicrosoft, micros0ft, mjcrosoft, microseft.

And I could continue endlessly. You get the idea.

Yeah this right here is probably going to be the one thing that is going to explain what most people think of the site, this is in a time where phising scams are all too common so I would 1 hundred percent think this site was trying to pass off as Bitcoin.com

You'd have to do some crazy amount of advertising and making sure people knew you were legitimate with that domain. Plus you probably wouldn't even get much organic traffic from it / misspelling traffic as people would simply think it's a scam site.

So, I'd do a good amount of advertising or try to sell it for whatever I could get.

biitcoins.com isn't good domain name and i think i would try my luck on better domain name even though it can't be ended with .com or try make bitcoin service with name biitcoins instead.
Why ? .com is always treated as premium domains. I guess you are meaning .io kind of domains for cryptocurrency related stuff, I do not thing .com cannot have value in crypto world. But I too do not like the name biitcoins, it is not at all seeming related to bitcoin ecosystem.

In short, i think you need lots of effort to make your domain become popular and make sure it's not typos, but a brand instead.
But I guess he is already doing the promotional work of his domain name. He may gift that domain to himself through an alt account but people who are into this board might read that domain name at least once. What a promotional strategy.
