What is faster transaction Bitcoin or Ethereum ?

Depends on the fee you're paying. If you pay a high enough fee so your transaction is included in the next block, ethereum might be faster with 10 min. Ethereum fees are currently lower than bitcoin, bu right now the fees for both are way to high for my likings.

Why are you asking this? Are you not sure on what to se?

I use regular fee on Bitcoin and and lately it takes 2-3 days and still unconfirmed which is very annoying.
is it the same with Ethereum ? i consider move my coins there if it's faster.

No need to pass to Ethereum and move your coins there. Always consult with this website which is the best to tell you what fees you should use so that your transaction is included in the next block and is confirmed 10 min to 1 hour max.

Both can be fast, depending on what fees people pay.

For the same fee, Ethereum is much faster.  However, I would argue that any cryptocurrency will be faster than Bitcoin when its transaction volume has reached a limit, even an identical clone of Bitcoin.

It won't be the same after Bitcoin implements scaling.

What is faster transaction Bitcoin or Ethereum ?

Ethereum is faster and cheaper than bitcoin which can take days and can take lots of fees escpecially nowadays where the numbero f unconfrimed transaction reaches 200k easily.

But this mess is not happening in ethereum because there are many blocks mined within a minute which is more often than bitcoin which can takes many minutes to an hour.

It depends on the level of security you are looking for. Bitcoin is nearly instantaneous if you don't require any confirmations.

If you do require confirmations, keep in mind that it takes many Ethereum confirmations to equal the security of a single Bitcoin confirmation.

ETH's normal fee is about 4-5 cents per transaction. However, if you think that's much, you can chose to pay a very low fee, like <1cent, and wait for a few mins instead (1-2). You can find around the web some trolls telling how expensive ethereum transactions are, pointing to average transactions. What they forget to mentions is that these are complex transactions within dapps/smart contracts. And most of these dapps are not efficiently programmed, their cost could be reduced by up to 98% from case to case, according to vitalik https://www.reddit.com/r/ethereum/comments/6c1jui/delegatecall_forwarders_how_to_save_5098_on/

Of course faster Ethereum)

Even though as at today, I am still pissed at the amount of time it takes for btc transaction to confirm that does not mean it should be compared with ETH simply because of the fact that they are not operating on the same level considering the number of people involved in both currencies. Until the people involved are same then the two can be compared in other to determine which one is faster of the two.

It's obvious ethereum is going to be faster confirmed and have lower transaction fees compared to Bitcoin. I use ethereum and litecoin for gambling because they confirm faster and at lower fees especially litecoin..

Yes but not a big difference in bitcoin and ethereum they are almost the same in the transaction speed in the blockchain and also they are almost have the same fees but i guess the ethereum is more faster than bitcoin in my experience today i guess the bitcoin ia crack in the blockchain.

If you do not want to pay ridiculously high fees for a Bitcoin transaction, Ethereum is way faster.

But if you do have enough money for the fees for BTC you could go with that;-)

Any coin is faster than Bitcoin transactions these days. Even with 220 sats per byte, it still takes hours to get a confirmations while in ETH, if transactions are sent with a lower fee, I am able to send the same transaction again with a higher fee and the transaction gets confirmed in max 15 minutes. Also, ETH now too charges 0.001 fee that can become expensive with the price increasing rapidly.

What is faster transaction Bitcoin or Ethereum ?

I think we cannot recognize what transactions really rises on both bitcoin and ethereum because they both depends from blockchain network. I know sometimes ethereum beats bitcoin transaction to much faster processing depending on the network traffic on confirmation. Also with bitcoin transactions that's also experienced making it faster than ethereum, they both have an alternate competition of fastest transactions made; but we couldn't find the data of actual numbers of their fastest transactions made.

I don't know who to believe, you (a known ethereum advertiser who is known for spreading misleading information) or what I see on block explorers!
here is poloniex ethereum wallet: https://etherscan.io/address/0x32be343b94f860124dc4fee278fdcbd38c102d88
none of the tx fees seem to be anything lower than $0.12 to $0.16
and when I search more on blockexplorers with more information such as average tx fee per transaction in a longer period they say of fees around $0.45
???

Nope, it is not that easy. People want to move to a faster Crypto currency network, but there are other factors other than the speed of the network, that has to be considered.

You can have a fast network with much less security or poor decentralization. How many merchants accepts Ethereum directly?

Ethereum has not even come close to the transaction volumes, compared to where Bitcoin is now. What happens when they do?

Bitcoin trading is slow because it is facing a huge daily trading volume. Ethereum is still a fledgling currency, transactions have it quicker and easier. That is the advantage of ethereum.

ofcourse ETH is faster but ETH has also half of the transaction per day than bitcoin, not sayign that they ar enot handling better the nuber of transactions per day, but still this is something to look around when making a comparison

also etheruem has not block limit like bitcoin, its fuction is different, there is another kind of limit there related to contract called gas limit

Bitcoin is still the faster transaction for me because it is just fair with ethereum because if you compare the user of bitcoin and ethereum, bitcoin users are still bigger so in terms of speed of transaction bitcoin is still faster, just add some higher fees and you will have an average speed of transaction in bitcoin.

ETH just not yet facing the scalability issue just like bitcoin so it'll eventually as slow as bitcoin when many people use it and the amount of transaction going on the increase as much as bitcoin, alongside with the fee, just like what you mentioned.
And also, most of the exchanges require many confirmations if from ETH's blockchain and it's also something to be thinking about.

In my experience eth is faster than bitcoin. I sometimes wait for minutes to make bitcoin transaction. I am using eth to send token and eth I need about 1 to five minute. The money has been arrived. I ever suffered o confirmation from sending bitcoin. it takes one or two days.

for now ethereum has less transaction fee than bitcoin this two currencies now play the highest value now in the market and the number one is still the bitcoin but it has big transaction fee. :(

Dude, ETH is sooo much faster than BTC at the moment. You can read the forum if you have been living under a rock, concerning the state of the bitcoin network, but ETH always zips along at less than 5 minutes. When ETH was first introduced to exchanges, the wallets were slow about registering incoming transactions, but it's been ages since then, its all gravy now.

I've never gotten a single confirmation of a bitcoin network as fast as I have on Ethereum's. And I lurvs me some bitcoin.

To not seemed biased, LTC and Doge rock for fast confirms.

The comparison between the length of transaction of ethereum and bitcoin must consider things like what way of transaction will you chose and how much fee  are there in the specific transaction. If you are going to look on the coins bitcoin is much accepted in transaction because people usually used ethereum on trading and its stock is much slow to moved that bitcoin so in transaction it better to used bitcoin even if the transaction length take time to complete. And the fees it does not matter if you will chose the proper wallet on transaction. So the first thing to do is find the suitable wallet on your transaction.

Dogecoin uses DigiShield which is developed by DigiByte developer.

This coin is very undervalued.

Well as what i've see or experiences using this two. I would probably say that ETHEREUM is much more faater that bitcoin because also bitcoin have now 200k unconfirmed and still counrting. Well all in all ETH have more credibility that have a faster transactions to confirmed.

as what other member here say, eth is much faster. due to the fact that it just has less traffic compare dto bitcoin. but if you really want to have a faster transaction on bitcoin too, then better yet  pay for much higher fees, thats the best solution so far. especially now that bitcoins price skyrockets. traffic too skyrockets. lol.

Eth transaction is faster than bitcoin, but the same time it has got lot of difference between the process involved in the transaction of a bitcoin as well ethereum. Bitcoin has some blocksize limitations, but with eth the blockchain is based on contracts.

No matter what happens, I always believe that bitcoin is faster, although you see bitcoin transactions take longer to confirm, but bitcoin is faster, because bitcoin has to deal with a very large amount of bitcoin. Transactions every day, but ETH does not have that, it's popularity has made bitcoin slower.

my friend, it is not about how you feel about it, or how "busy" network is, its about block time, lower block time will bring much faster txs.
