Title: Goodbye Adsense
Post by: bitcoinvestor on May 27, 2017, 02:08:11 PM
I am an adsense blogger. It has been two or three years I monetize my blog with adsense. I Have three blog that give me traffic 1500 pv a day. Not high traffic but I do a lot of work. I learn seo ,I write original articles. After few days my articles were copy and modified by other bloggers. I feel What kind of business is this. So many  rules should I  follow in case my blog was  sent to sand box by  google. That was bad news.  1000 traffic became 0 traffic. That's hurting and painstaking.

First, I joined bitcointalk, I underestimate the member here, I ever post critisized ones who only look for signature campaign. I got bullied by many members but The post went away. I never joined signature campaign until I became senior member. I enjoy make discussion with other members. One day I tried to enrolled signature campaigan. I got three weeks. I joined iEx.ec. I don't think about reward, I continue to post and read other posts. i learn a lot of things from this forum. When the time distribute the reward I was amazed by earning that I have made. It is about 1.3 BTC. Three weeks for 1.3 BTC.

Since then I think I have spent too much time for big boy adsense. I only earn $100 for about 7 to 8 month. I think I should change my mind to use my blog for bounty programs. This is a fact. I have just realized now.

Not only you dude, there is so much bloggers out there who feel the same thing.

I'm not trying to convince any bloggers who read this Thread, but for a couple times I thought that google lil bit unfair with their rules or regulations for every publishers.
In fact, I admitted that many successful publishers out there which can make more than thousands of dollars a month. But, being publisher is not for everyone.

From what I learned, there is 2 of kind blogger, the real one who blogging because of their passion, and the other one who want to earn money from adsense.

I did once for my passion, but that's it, I don't earn that much from adsense.
Once upon a time I tried to focus on adsense, I'm not comfortable with it because I have to know SEO or something like that which is I hate it.
So, even if I want to earn some money from blogging, adsense is not the only one.

For people like me, doing something that make me more comfort is more important than running with those SEO things and trying to compete with other bloggers and hope to make some money from adsense.

Note : Sorry for my English. I'm not that fluent ;D

Yes, it's hard to make money from blog now (PPC Program). Unless we have really reputable website. IMO, that was a brilliant idea to change you blog to bounty program or any ICO listing reviews. You can contact the ICO's developer personally if you want to collaborate. Anyway good luck.

Well yes your decision is right to use that blog into bounty programs sometimes life just like that.
Now that you realize it you can now earn more without spending much time in work.

Sooner or later bloggers will leave google adsense and find another ways to get extra money from the internet, and bitcoin is one of them. The worst thing I feel when build a blog is like what you said when I work hard to make an original great contents to attract more visitors, it can easily copy and modified and just publish by other bloggers. Damn

Yes you are joined an ico's bounty project. It's like a gamble, you don't know how's the future of ico. When you're lucky and the ico you join with success, you got nice rewards. If it failed, you got nothing.

Adsense has been around for a long time because it has the largest marketing reach, partly through it being the default search engine for a large part of the world. Bitcoin might make it easier for new advertising platforms to set up, but Google has a massive advantage with their historical data, marketing experience and technology. Unfortunately they pay low because they are so reliable and are geared towards mega volume visitors.

You have taken great decision by leaving out Adsense to rust! It is slow and depends on the traffic you deliver. No matter how hard you try but it is always painstaking work. Its better you go through bitcointalk thoroughly and learn the stuff about earning bitcoins. Bitcoins has become source of income for many of us and it is the right thing to sweat on! ;)

tl;dr version of the OP's Post
Op is a regular blogger who used Adsense for making money through his blog and failed terribly even after trying out SEO and original articles. After introducing to bitcointalk's signature campaigns he managed to make 1.3 bitcoins in just 3 weeks which he couldn't make through his blog in 7-8 months.Op's all happy now that bitcoin made him rich and hates adsense for letting him down.

Unfortunately Adsense offers pretty high revenues and convenient systems due to its monopoly over advertising.  I say "unfortunately", because it's unhealthy for blog users to feel like they don't have enough other options or can't effectively try advertising themselves.

The difference is that income from blogs is cumulative just like the user base.  The longer you run it and the more quality blog posts you produce, the more people begin coming to your site which you can use for referrals and sponsorships.  So for many people they end up being far more profitable than more accessible tasks.

Its true that ,AdSense has been around for long but what I see is exploitation and sometimes it forces bloggers to just post rubbish or even fake news in other to increase traffic on their site and get some funds. Aside that, it has even turn site with content to something else where you can even read without ads disturbing you here and there. I think its a good one that you find another means of generating income online by that you don't have to be at the mercy of AdSense who could just ban your site for no tangible reason.

You misunderstand the Google sandbox.
Firstly Google doesn't send a website to the sandbox because another website copied your content. Google is not stupid and consider meta data, timestamp, ect they perfectly know who published first.
Secondly, there is a difference between de-indexed and sent to the sandbox. which case are you in. In any case the reason is your failed SEO, non naturral linking, over optimization ect whatever you did.
Third Never make a SEO test on your money site ! Never ! Buy a 1$ domain and go with it

OP might have some fault but I am still thankful to him for sharing his experience.  I am thinking of monetizing a website with adsense but well, with the comparison of OP, I was discourage to continue my plan and do a bounty website for altcoin instead.  That is a great hidden tip from your post OP.

If you are getting 50$/month from your adsense'd website, google is probably making even more money than that amount. 100$? 200$? I leave it to your imagination.

That means you are actually an employee of google inc. The business, the website you own is just making money mainly for google, not you. You leave your job to build your own business online but you actually switched one hell for another.

Fuck google.

I am not endorsing forum spam as sig camps aren't jobs. Those payments are just a reward for your contributions, so i must warn you: Don't think sig camps as a job. Companies may end it at anytime, especially if bitcoin gets close to 10k$, nobody will be willing to run a sig camp here because they'll be paying thousands of USD every week.

What you need is, switching google ads for bitcoin ads. Redesign your blog and show the ad spots to your visitors. If you have a good website/blog you won't have any difficulties while searching for ad-givers. If that's too hard, just a small bitcoin donation link would even do the trick.

I feel sorry for your articles that has been copied by other bloggers, did you ever tried to report those blogs? Well the decision you made is right, there are more opportunities that are waiting for you in the world of crypto's and with the ICO's you can even earn bigger amount of money depending on the projects popularity and collected investment.

I review ICO that I join with my blog. That gives me stake for bounty projects. That will give more profitable earning. I don't care about link that I put in the articles. I write articles review of on going ICO.

The true by owning a blog is that you will need others to read follow and support clicking the ads, while at signatures all you need is to post and keep in the topic. Adsense is a good way to monetize any project, but crytpo websites almost no one risk their accounts at them, because google are banning all, after they made huge loads of money with faucets they banned them... adsense still the best way to monetize a website, but you learned that its better focus into your work then try to inform and provide news to others.

It says that you made 4.5 stakes and i am not sure how that evaluate into how much coins you are going to get and how much money you are going to make with it according to the price at a given time,if 4.5 stakes of iEx.ec evaluates to 1.3 bitcoin then it is a pretty huge amount and some got 10 stakes according to the spread sheet and that would be crazy money for the amount of work.Good luck and enjoy the benefit and happy trading.

That is normal, methods to earn money appear, make success and after they are dryed. With adsense it already happened, too many people glimpsed that as a way to make money, by copying articles from others (what damaged legit writers), by getting fake traffic, by creating faucets... And now that is problematic. Signature Campaigns are good now, worth a lot for many people, but it won't last forever, things in life are constantly changing.

I agree with you there is not anything last. However, we can keep signature campaign as the way to earn bitcoin by keeping this community far away from destructive actions like spamming, multiple accounts and any other cheating methods. There will be many investors and developers waiting for us to spread their ICO. So I got angry when a senior member reply to my post " Spam" What spam I made. I don't want ruin my new life in bitcointalk.

I really doubt that fact because even if his account was legendary I don't think it will even take him less than two years to make 1 BTC. It's just not too good to be true but a fabrication.

1.3btc in 3 weeks? That is a lot and a bit unbelievable but anyway adsense is actually overrated. You do a lot of work writing articles and most times you end up with little change that isn't even worth what you are doing. The rule is dont ever blog cause of the cash. Sharing ideas here is better off though at least helping in your own way.

I also think that it is simply impossible to get such a large amount for such a short period of time.
Even if a lot of work and write interesting articles. It all depends on the number of people who will read the articles. I do not think there will be so many

I agree that sig campaigns must not be seen as a job. The earning might help a bit to start up something like a trade or just for splurging on some stuff if you already make enough anyway. I was actually surprised he said he was making BTC1.3 a week. Frankly, I found that hard to believe though I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe the campaign have bounties or something...

Never tried making money out of blogs or youtube channels before but the replies in this thread made me decide not to. If I'll ever make a blog or channel, I'd just do it for an interest or hobby. If it ends up making money, then good.

Google adsense was a waste of time since you always need to keep the number of traffic running and without a traffic you got nothing. In google adsense you will work double but if nobody visits your site you are a poor guy. Signature campaign is just one work and after you work without getting some traffic since there are already a huge traffic in this forum you are being paid automatically. Signature campaign and being paid by bitcoin is much better than adsense.

I have been two years blogging but end up in tiring. I tried to move on the next challenge blog for ICO. That's in my mind. I am going to buy a domain then start to write about altcoin and cryptocurrencies and contact the developers and investors to promote or bounty with my blog. In 2018 there will be new ICO I think. That's blogging will be more profitable than other monetizing methode like adsense and other PPCs.

I feel you man!

I stopped using adsense on my sites and blogs a long time ago, it's just pure trash when you look at it.
It's easy, that's for sure. Easy to set up and easy to run, you got nothing to do.
But if you manage to generate traffic on your site, you'd better run your own programs! You talk about BTC? Then for god sake remove adsense and put a banner or two of gambling sites.

Affiliate programs will make 10 times more money ;)

I can tell you the same from personal experience, Adsense is just not worth it for blogs and niche websites. If your website is about cryptocurrencies, then switch to related advertising platforms and integrate an affiliation program which will always pay more than both the alternatives.

I can tell you the same from personal experience, Adsense is just not worth it for blogs and niche websites. If your website is about cryptocurrencies, then switch to related advertising platforms and integrate an affiliation program which will always pay more than both the alternatives.

The problem is that teh ad networks that pay in bitcoin pay even worse than adsense does. IMO advertising is dead.

A lot of my friends also tried to earn on Google AdSense but to no avail. When the crisis began Google tightened its requirements and now they all refused it. The affiliate program much more effective, but very difficult to find interested people. The easier will be earning bitcoins in the network, the less people will pay attention to AdSense.

I have just realized now.
tl;dr version of the OP's Post
Op is a regular blogger who used Adsense for making money through his blog and failed terribly even after trying out SEO and original articles. After introducing to bitcointalk's signature campaigns he managed to make 1.3 bitcoins in just 3 weeks which he couldn't make through his blog in 7-8 months.Op's all happy now that bitcoin made him rich and hates adsense for letting him down.

ha ha ha ha ha

OP realized that bitcointalk is a gold mine while adsense is a waste of time

Just kidding

IMO advertising is dead.

I gave up on a site i had

For the fact that AdSense does not work for you does not mean it does not work for others and even the drop in the number of your traffics is due to the flouting of one rule or the other which they are very strict about as we have seen them blacklisting quite a number of faucet sites. But still think you made a good decision having decided that something is not working for you then you change boat which is now working but I hope you are not carried away and thinks thats how it going to continue to be.

I agreed that bitcoin is far better than Adsense. Bitcoin will give you unexpected profit sometimes if the price goes up suddenly. And one thing I am not understood did you made 1.3 BTC in just three weeks? Is this possible? I don't think it is not possible in any reward amount and signatire campaign. I am also working in one of the most reputed signature campaigns, and they are paying the good amount I am very happy for that, and I am satisfied.

I think situation differs from case to case. There are people who are too expert in blogging and marketing that they can make huge in Adsense than doing anything else or btc.
I was once reading the review of RevenueHits Ad Network. One of the user posted his earning stats from ads. I remember his earnings were $300, $900 and $1100 around for first 3 days totaling to $2300 in just three days.
You cannot say one way is better than other, all depends upon situation and skills.

I'm thinking about using Adsense and I'm curious, what was your cpc/ctr/cpm? The blog was finance related, right? I'm going to possibly put ads on my site (www.demoinvestor.com) but I'm not sure if it's worth it to use hem, another ad network, or reach out to companies individually.

It really depend on what niche you are blogging. Other's found success using Adsense and can generate revenues you have mentioned. But I think they spent a lot of time and putting their own article and not just copying article from others. I also give up being a blogger myself. I started way back 2009-2012 and gained a few hundred dollars. But as far as earning BTC1.3 with your signature campaign, I guess you are lucky to join iEx.ec and earn that amount, because some of the ICO's are scam and campaigners didn't get paid.

Revenuehits I think is good. It has many ads placements. The highest revenue is from pop under ads. I think you shouldn't put gambling and adults because sometimes they contents malware.

Yes I also join at google adsense since 12 years ago, and indeed since the last 7 years I've not been active on the blog so that adsense revenue drop, the thing that made me leave adsense is a click value continues to fall (often got $0,01 per clicks).

OP might have some fault but I am still thankful to him for sharing his experience.  I am thinking of monetizing a website with adsense but well, with the comparison of OP, I was discourage to continue my plan and do a bounty website for altcoin instead.  That is a great hidden tip from your post OP.

Maintaining a blog or site takes a lot of effort. I was also maintaining few blogs couple of years back and used to make around $100 per month, but I felt that the time and effort I spent on the maintenance of those blogs are not worth. Also, I noticed that some people just copy our blog content and post it in some other public blog or forum to get a backlink and Google will punish our site or blog as well. Once any blog or site loses its Google ranking then suddenly our earning will go down. I too gave up long up blog posting and working on bitcoins now.

I didn't get, is there a bitcoin analogue of adsense?
I have a site with about 1k daily visitors. The site is about games, not cryptocurrencies.
Is there a chance I can get reasonable amount of money with ads?

It really isn't worth it, unless you want to pay for botted traffic to get actual subscribers and stuff like that. You need to pay for ads so you get subscribers or use twitter/social media bots to target relate-able hashtags. It takes forever to do something like that, ESPECIALLY for youtube which has had its payout decreased by half... It isn't even worth trying on YT unless you have nothing better to do.

That is the problem with those who dont posts credits to whoever the original maker is.
This is a hardcore world now. Even in the world of internet robbery is happening.
Good thing you switched already before you got broke just thinking about what would happen to your blog.
If I were you I would stay away from those and just use your writing skills here.
Many users here would love that and would pay handsomely for a nice writing.

Well, I never tried any bounty program yet but yes I remember that when I found a bug in Yobit's platform, I immediately informed them about it and they rewarded me BTC 0.1 for giving information about that bug. I am an AdSense publisher too but I think, I have roughly made $30 in last 2 years (and paid 5 times more to adwords for my business). It feels very demotivating when we see someone is copying our stuff.

I recently found that someone copied my whole bitcoin article series and made available for purchase on kindle for 1$. The person is so kind that he didn't even changed the decription on the amazon sales page and used my words as it is used on the blog.

OK Never loose writing skill so I enjoyed becoming bitcointalk member. I like giving comment and post new topic here. I was never interested in signature campaign, because I promote my online bookstore in my signature. It is coincident when I joined iEx.ec siganture campaign. My online store can't be accesed due some reasons said by the hosting providers. That day I decided to change my signature link to signature campaign. I dropped by iEx.ec and enrolled. After I was accepted , I started to post and didn't think about the reward. I keep my quality of post, I saw the gdoc the manager always gave me the stake. it means that my posts were in his quality control. three weeks went by when all participants ask the reward distribution. I was surprised with such amount of money. That was my first time I joined signature campaign and earned such a big reward. Now, I enjoy trading RLC and making few satoshis in two or three days. I think satoshis from trading are much more bigger than my adsense earning so I posted a thread " goodbye adsense"

Adsense sucks. They have lots of rules about what you can and you what you can't write about.

If you write something against the politically correct or whatever they don't like, you'll get excluded. Or if you post any NSFW, even a single pair of tits, and the list of stupid things doesn't end here.

I don't think use AdSense is worth now, whatever the price they offer

Yes indeed it risks being a blogger we make our work with creative and innovative so that it can make a good article and easy to understand, But in fact the work we make can be taken by others so that others plagiarize our work as if it were those who made it out of our thinking.
Indeed the income from creating a blog is not how it can even take a long time so we can enjoy the results.
This is a best decision because you are in this forum and you can learn all about digital coins here even from digital coins that we can enjoy the results so it can be made as real money.

I personally make around 300$ from adsense not doing anything.

I dont have a blog though, its a website with a function that a lot of people enjoy to use.

But adsense and their payment for high quality traffic has been down for some time.

70% of my traffic is from the US and I get around 4000 unique visitors pr day.. And I barely make 10$ a day which is crazy low.

But I dont know any alternatives that pay as well as Adsense.

I am not a master , others make twice than me. I just give some advice, before you join signature campaign you should consider these;
1. The ICO. How , what to be the ICO is. It is just going to be a low coin or long project.
2. See the roadmap
3. Look at the developers behind the ICO.
4. Escrow ( If necessary).
5. Stakes ( How many stakes) Not payment in cash or bitcoin. Stakes will be higher earning.
6. Date of the ICO.
7. Campaign Manager.
Those just tips not guarantee. Others better than me.

The prize from your signature campaign in iEX.ec is very High for three weeks. Congrats with that. You should also make your blog to get referral from your visitors. Make a topic in your blog about crypto especially Bitcoin, or about gambling sites and put your referral in every gambling sites you create in your blog. You will get a lot of $ from your referral and from the visitors of your blog.

I'm a part-time blogger too, and have placed Adsense ads on my blogs.

I've to agree with you so much, its really annoying to get paid in USD through Western Union or Bank Transfer while we have bitcoin on other side.

I'm thinking of quitting Adsense as well.
