Title: Will Bitcoin will be declare as legal or not ?
Post by: pawanjain on May 30, 2017, 04:29:52 AM
Here I am confused whether the Indian government want to declare the Bitcoin legal or not ?.

Here are the proof that they will declare it as legal

1) Why government of India asking to the public for the suggestion whether to regulate , ban , or just leave it as is currently .
2) Why government taking action against the zebpay , whether everyone paying tax or not .
3) If government want to ban , then why they are waiting , why they are not directly declare the Bitcoin as illegal way of payment or asset .
4) Why government want make tax  from the Bitcoin earner , but don't want declare it as legal .
5) The big bank in India SBI want to use technology of blockchain but still they are not supporting Bitcoin.

Here are the chances to declare it illegal , due to following conclusions

1) They already banned in the year 2010 , but after they unbanned , so chances to ban it again are much possible .
2) If the government of India can stop the use of old currencies  , without any prior notice , then it is possible that they can ban easily the Bitcoin .
3) Since most of the millionaires are in the favour of the Bitcoin but still few celebrities are against the use of the Bitcoin .
4) The current government ruling India is against the black money , so may be possible that with the name of the black money they can ban it ( regardless of the factor that every transactions are publicly open for everyone to see ) .

Well here I would like to suggest everyone , whether he is Indian or not , just support Bitcoin  at www.mygov.in   resister your account and say about the Bitcoin .
And tell them that Bitcoin is a best option to destroy the system of the black money , because everything is open to see .

If you have still any suggestion then feel free to share below about this thread and also I requested to you to support Bitcoin at www.mygov.in

note : we have time until 31 may to give our suggestion , so be fast to support Bitcoin .

Maybe in the next few years will be legal. Given the increasing bitcoin users and also the practical bitcoin to do the transaction plus the other features that make it easier for bitcoin users

If the government is against the black money the easier solution is to regulate BTC, because if they ban it, people will continue using Bitcoins and government won't have control over it, regulating can make things easier to manage for the government, what doesn't mean it will be better for ordinary people using Bitcoin for honest purposes.

I think if bitcoin is managed by the government will certainly change all rules that have become bitcoin performance system, of course function of bitcoin freedom will be eroded by new regulations that may be applied by government

How can you say , may be in next two year , lol .
today is 31 may and this is last day to suggestions for the government of India .
I don't think we would see Bitcoin being declare as legal during this couple of years, maybe it can happen in the future
no brother , it will get ban or illegal in the same year , because the ransomeware attack made the attention fully , you can see at the mygov.in about the petition .

Yes , totally true , This will be the solution for use .
Because at the one side we can't exit from the Bitcoin but also at the second side we have the responsibility to not to violate the law of taxation , so regulation is better option and then we will be able to use Bitcoin legally .

When government is ready to take a decision, no one will force them and I would suggest preempting their decision line is not the best as this would lead to unnecessary speculation which is going to further worsen the volatility issues surrounding bitcoin at the moment. All I know is one of the major factor that will influence government decision is that tax that will be generated and how it will be done by the exchange site. The moment this has been achieved every other thing will fall in line.

Its up for the government, but if I were to suggest being legal is better, there will be some issues such as using it for illegal dealings but as a countermeasure bitcoin users can easily bring money to their country from another. So it easily helping with their economy just like that.

If we look at prospect of bitcoin there is a possibility that someday the government will give legality to bitcoin and participate in it. And if bitcoin is declared legal then bitcoin security will be more assured.

To me, the concept of bitcoin was to take money out of Government control. But when a government makes bitcoin official currency, there is the likelihood that one day they could want to control it. However, bitcoin circulation is individualistic. There is no central bank for bitcoin so it will be difficult to ban it.

I think to make a decision that bitcoin to be legal currency is need too much regulations and I am sure it will take lot of time and there will be consequences after it. The government surely think the main currency in India and also make it stable is most important than bitcoin. So why they could take a hard decision to make it legal?
The best moves that your government can do is netral. I mean the central bank cannot regulate bitcoin, government doesn't take any responsibility for all kinds of losses and people will use it with their own risk.

I think not so soon we will get Bitcoin legalized by the India Government as their are so many regulations they have to make it before announcing it as legal currency. And every time India is standing in last to accept the new technology after the whole world experience it after that only they will start to work on it.

We cannot really say because it is the government's call. Nonetheless, I think there is a possibility of it being declared legal because of the apparent inconsistencies of the government that we see. Bitcoin has such a huge impact in the market that it cannot just be eradicated all at once since it exists online without need of any official body to man its operations.

do you think that if they declare it illegal, i wold not use it anyway if i was an indian citizen?

again this is the same old argument, they can't track soemone who is using bitcoin, they will never be able to do so, if i pay for somethign abroad and receive it in india by using bitcoin, there is no way they can know about it

banning bitcoin and make it illegal is just a way to put fear in people, because they fear themselves bitcoin, and want to restrict the usage, but you can still use it without any problems

i think they will not banned bitcoin due to its popularity and growth in international market..its becoming worldwide currency..they just need to ensure that all are ok and no illegal work is going on..

But you know to use Bitcoin legally can be worse, right? You will need to pay higher fees than you pay now to transfer money, and maybe there will be extra fees when buying stuff in your country. You would need to spend more Bitcoins to buy less things, it's not a very good deal, only for the government of course.

I agree. The fact that Bitcoin is under scrutiny seems to portend bad news. Governments, especially countries without an open economy like India, like control. If they can't control something, the usual knee jerk reaction is to make it illegal.

yes in fact by accepting bitcoin as legal currency by the japan now the other countries may also be thinkin about the legalization of bitcoin. I am sure that very soon they will also take a very positive step about bitcoin and the price of bitcoin will again become skyrocket. may be other countries have already start thinking about the legalization of bitcoin. as their people have already accepted bitcoin.

Of course this is a good thing if many countries provide support and give legality to bitcoin.
And it seems that this will have a positive impact on the progress of bitcoin both in terms of popularity and of course will get a stable price.

yes we are expecting that bitcoin is going to be declare as legal currency but i think it will take some more time. because most of the countries are still thinking about the legality of bitcoin.and they can take any step after a lot of conformation and  studying every aspect of btcoin. its impact on a country economy, on their fiat currency and much more therefore it can really take some more time.

The only way they will declare it legal is if they can track and tax every transaction. That means tying an identity to each bitcoin address. I doubt anyone wants that.

There might be reasons for that.
It is a risk, maybe that is what they are thinking.
Too much of capital is needed. One more good reason.
Being a country with a low value of currency will make it hard to adjust specially their technology.
Japan could do it because they have been one of the countries with great technologies.
It will be easier for them to make good use of bitcoin.

the problem is, without 1984 Orwellian control of the internet how would a centralized government declare bitcoin ILLEGAL?

Just from my knowledge of federal legal statues here and how they are passed it requires enormous political capital requiring confirmation super-majorities (2/3) in the house and the senate, an executive sign-off AND a majority supreme court decision.

Basically the enormous burden of proof will have to fall on elected officials and legal experts with 20+ minimum experience practicing in the field to cite good cause as to how and why they should ban the currency, if they even can, how these regulation/criminal code changes will be executed/implemented and what to do with those U.S citizens that have a stake invested in bitcoin in which they have 0 probable cause to seize such as a commodity. Just sounds like even if it was illegal the burden of proof would be enormous to be able to convict beyond a reasonable doubt the use of bitcoin especially when people get better with security methods such as using tor and linux-based operating systems as well as the manner in which they browse (different cpus, thumb drives, changing IPs as well as using wireless that either doesnt belong to you or are public hot spots).

Legally speaking even IF the regulations were CLEARLY spelled out word for word the execution and interpretation of this law (indictment and conviction under a jury-trial giving the defense every legal opportunity awarded to him) is virtually impossible, even for a government as big and powerful as the U.S. Hell even China couldnt do this which is why ppl are finally putting real value and equity (or transferring should i say) into BTC... the foundation of the method of exchange, ledger and storage of such currency is just too sound and the security will only get BETTER over time.

I have done so. My account is registered and I personally believe Bitcoin is a good option to rid the world of black money too. Because of its consensus system, it prevents the creation of new Bitcoin. This converts to a deflationary currency too. This can help with India's inflation and perhaps strengthen the economy. Maybe Bitcoin will be accepted soon. Once we make the Indian government aware of the advantages of Bitcoin, I presume that they would accept Bitcoin. I mean they have no reason not to. Bitcoin only provides advantages to them. But saying that, I don't think they would abolish fiat either.

And it is likely to quickly achieve stable bitcoin prices.

If other countries keep adopting as Japan did, it may pressure reluctant countries to allow it. They may not ban it outright, but may allow people to use it informally. What I think will happen is that countries will develop their own national coin and blockchain.

I just find it strange that a government would try to legalize and regulate something they ultimately have no control over whether regulated or not. Besides, it's the world bank that would have ultimate control because the world bank controls the actions of banks in most every country.

To our knowledge, Bitcoin has not been declared illegal in most countries. Although there are some countries (such as Argentina and Russia) that strictly prohibit foreign currency. Other countries (such as Thailand) restrict certain currency entity entities such as Bitcoin exchange.

Maybe in the next few years it will be declare as legal because there are many users right now. So this Bitcoin will be known and will be legalize and have many obligations to pay. But in my opinion, I would be happy if bitcoin will not be legalizing because there is no need to pay tax.

Bitcoin is already legal in many countries, and it's perfectly possible that in the close future it will be accepted just as widely as any usual state-regulated currency. Today it's already possible to say that more and more people find Bitcoin more reliable and applicable to use than usual currencies, and this certainly will influence its legal status in the future.
Although this question is rather of a political nature; democratic societies with stable and transparent economies are more likely to accept cryptocurrencies legally.

Nobody can guarantee which countries will or will not legalize it; especially when talking about multiple countries. Hypothetically, every government may legalize it, but nobody will give 100% guarantee. But it's the same for any currency, or more broadly, any phenomenon on the market: you can't be completely certain in many issues, especially with regard to various legal/political regimes of each country.
One could suggest that it will be legalized globally, however it's unclear how much time this process can take.

What I see in all this is that countries are actually sitting on the fence on the issue of whether to declare illegal. Rather they choose the word ban because that would mean they can wake up tomorrow and spin the news that it is now unban or that citizens can now participate after they meet some certain conditions. However, no one actually knows but what I am sure is that they are equally observing the way things are going.

The country country in Asia that has declared bitcoin legal is Japan. Its the first country to do so. But I don't know if other country will make it legal though. There's a lot of debate inside and outside of a particular country so it make take years before another one legalized it. Its more of putting a regulation so that it will not be abuse or give protection to their citizens. That's is the main point of the Central Bank, because bitcoin is decentralized and they can't control it that's why bitcoin has getting a hard time being legalized.

Do not think they will declare it legal because they may try to bring their own currency which government will have control and would like to use that only so that it could be tracked easily and it will be under govt purview. Slowly they will put a ban on all other currency I think so or as per even some of the country view it seems to me the case.

Actually it is not so. Japan considers bitcoin not as a currency. They recognize his tender. That means you can officially exchange it to yen, but to buy goods you can only in the national currency. Shops that accept bitcoins are required to convert them. To complete legalization for a long time.

Now the government of India still decides to recognize the crypto currency in their country as a means of payment or not. The Central Bank of India noted that there are certain problems in this issue, that there are some risks associated with the passage of the crypto currency, but then they allegedly decided to legitimize it. As it will be seen in the near future.

If you have still any suggestion then feel free to share below about this thread and also I requested to you to support Bitcoin at www.mygov.in

note : we have time until 31 may to give our suggestion , so be fast to support Bitcoin .

no up to now it may doesn't happens. may be in the future it may happens. if bit coins may declare legal then we have to pay tax and showing our financial accounts for the government. then more people like business mans, politicians, and some more others can escape from this scam. so it is good to declare legal.

Otherwise, they have to setups new act for accepting Bitcoin in their country, so these things will take some time.

If the government declare that bitcoin transaction is not prohibited in their country we can say that selling bitcoin is illegal and do not used bitcoin on that area, but if there is no declaration about legalities of bitcoin i think using and selling bitcoin is not illegal, like here in our country we can used bitcoin freely even our government not yet adopt crypto currency.

I will back on the question of OP, i want to know also if what happen on bitcoin in INDIA? Since this topic was open mid quarter of this year.

That will change the fact that the government will declare bitcoin a legitimate transaction? Why do it at all? Everything that is not forbidden by law is permitted. The government will not recognize bitcoin ever. It is difficult to monitor and it creates outflow of investment from the economy. Indians no more stupid than all the others.

I think the question posted here is too broad. For one, we all know countries have independent governments which means that various countries have different laws, rules and regulations. It depends, too, on the needs of its citizens. Of course, I am all for the idea of opening our arms to the new era whereby almost everything exists in the web. All they got to do is to have an internet connection, right? But what Bitcoin came up with is that it effectively drew a line between its unregulated existence and that of the norm. So I guess it would have to do some workaround to legally exist. Otherwise, governments might come up with an international decision to ban the proliferation of these unregulated coins.

And if so, bitcoin will be safer to use because it is already recognized by the government.

It all depends on the position of the United States. Bitcoin is a danger in the first place for the dollar. Other countries are now only attracting investment via bitcoin. Yes, users do not pay taxes but their income, they stimulate demand and warm up the economy of their country. I think that countries like India will take the strategy of waiting. They will not deny but would not allow the use of bitcoins. Perhaps the Americans will force the government to ban bitcoin in exchange for dollar investments. Only time will tell.

Bitcoin has no significant impact on the economy. I think it is too early to talk about its legalization. It seems to me that until bitcoin will not be used in the trade, we will not see any changes in the legislation. In fact, many people do not believe that bitcoin is not a bubble. So it is used not more than 1% of people. Why in such circumstances to deal with its legalization.

If the government is against the black money the easier solution is to regulate BTC, because if they ban it, people will continue using Bitcoins and government won't have control over it, regulating can make things easier to manage for the government, what doesn't mean it will be better for ordinary people using Bitcoin for honest purposes.
I agree with you mate bitcoin is not decentralized with government although they can regulates it but bitcoin can be used illegally for those bad people.

As you know, btc is like the internet of money.  If it is declared illegal within any country then businesses and bitcoin exchanges will have to shut shop in the region only. Being a global phenomenon it cannot be banned throughout the world.
Like the internet, bitcoin as a whole cannot be regulated/censored/made illegal as it is not constrained within the borders of one nation. Businesses based on the idea of bitcoin can be subjected to regulation but the whole network itself cannot be.

I am not so sure that it will be legal world-wide but I think most country would legalized it since it gaisn popularity by this time around. If it would be legalized by many it has huge potential thay it will even grow more and a 7 digit value of Bitcoin might be possible  in the coming years to come.

I doubt it. It seems to me that legalization is just a way of governments to gain control over users of bitcoin. First, under the pretext of legalization they will collect information on everyone who uses bitcoin and then to impose a total ban on its use. The government is not interested in taxes. They are interested in manual control of the currency.

The most important factor is if bitcoin is approved by the SEC as legal tender. If so then bitcoin will go to many US stock exchanges and then will be followed by the world government, I'm sure bitcoin will spread faster with just one recognition from Donald Trump. Many developing countries are waiting for this momentum but no one dares to actively speculate unless Japan has fully regulated bitcoin.

Most of the countries banned bitcoin are communist. Because they just want to protect their own currency and ashamed that bitcoin will surpass their  fiat. This might some reasons governments don't allow bitcoin to be regulated.

I don't understand. The idea of creating bitcoins is to be independent. Why do you need legalization? You want to depend on the government? Through the regulator they make people their slaves. Then why do you need bitcoin? Use Fiat. Lol. It seems to me that we should not agree to any conditions for the regulation of cryptocurrencies by the government.

Using bitcoin just being said through offline would really be just a dream. If you mean offline then you are pertaining for it to be used physically which we know its an impossible stuff considering that bitcoin is really just designed to be a digitital currency which means having a physical form would really not happen and thinking off 21 M supply is not really sufficient for it to be considered to have a physical form. Its decentralized feature will entirely be lost.

Black money is one of the greatest issue in the Indian economy.Government concern about the fact that black money can be converted into BTC.
So it is quite impossible to regulate the tax system if BTC were declared as a legal tender. Government of India will never declare BTC as the legal tender of RBI. But it is always legal to use the exchange sites to exchange the BTC in to INR,while you are paying tax on your income.

whether bitcoin is declared illegal in India or any other country is really dependent on what that country is into, and what they stand to gain from it. if they feel that they can effectively regulate bitcoin then they may not ban it.

It all depends on the Government of each country. But maybe if in my country Bitcoin very difficult to declare legal. Because the Government in my country is not very supportive of the existence of Bitcoin in the community. But I hope someday Bitcoin can be legal in all countries and nothing else forbids the existence of Bitcoin.

If you have still any suggestion then feel free to share below about this thread and also I requested to you to support Bitcoin at www.mygov.in

note : we have time until 31 may to give our suggestion , so be fast to support Bitcoin .
we should be a positive thinker for that case we have now because i know that someday our government will declare that bitcoin is legal.we have to support bitcoin for the time will come.and we have to fight for it.

I believe that no matter how bitcoin develops its way, things are just beginning, its development path will be long, when people can not control its development, no Take control of it and they will accept it as a rule of natural development

Well, there are many advantages of bitcoin which exceeds all FIAT and when we see their low value of fees and the  facilities in transactions... then we conclude that the era of bitcoin is the new way to develop the economy of the world and there is always a progress of cryptocurrencies users. Furthermore, the only problem is the rejection of Bitcoin in many countries, so many users are afraid about this bad decision of many governments, and consequently, they use Bitcoin in a secret way, because it is illegal in some countries.
In addition to that, I guess that Bitcoin will become legal in majority of countries after some period ( maybe within 2 years ) , and it will be the solution of many crises in economics.

Governments are not interested in legalizing bitcoin. Therefore, they will never give complete freedom to use bitcoins. But the partial freedom of the will. I think that the government will not prohibit the exchange of bitcoins for Fiat money subject to taxes. Governments will never be allowed to use bitcoin as a currency.

For now, we can see that each country in its own way solves the issue of legalizing bitcoin and crypto currency in general. There is no single approach and unanimity. Therefore, decisions on this issue are very controversial in general. Everything will depend on how bitcoin will manifest itself in the near future. Many governments consider bitcoin to be very risky to invest, because, having a high cost, it can be deflated in its price as a financial bubble.

Good thing for you because there are only few countries who have not been declared bitcoin as legal but they are making it an illegal anyway, so there is really a good point to some countries who were optimistic about this cryptocurrency, they are not yet declaring it as legal because they are still finding ways on how they are going to regulate it.

Centralizing and decentralized stuff wouldn't really be possible this is why they do adopt and regulate it but not completely on full control but only having the mandation of paying up taxes when it comes to crypto earnings or any possible ways on extracting tax from it.When we do talk about legality it would really be mainly talking about being used without any restrictions on particular place/nation/country in all firms.

Given the flexibility of cryptocurrencies in financial world, YES, it will be declared to be legal. However, when that time comes, countries will be depending more on digital currencies than the used of physical monetary. Right now, dollars inflate due to the greater supply. Projected studies that if the result of inflation will rapidly increased, government will continue to "PRINT OUT" more supply of money resulting to hyperinflation. Thus, economy will crash, stock exchange will down, investors will pull-out their money, and would repeat the devastating "Great Depression". All if monetary value will continuously be supplied in the economy by countries such as US. Certainly why?. Its politics. Government wants to intervene and  legalize the  transactions in "Crypto World".

We really cannot force our government to make it legal, it takes time before doing it, so we must understand the situation of our government before reacting as this is not an easy job for them, so if they declare it as a legal or not accept it first.

India is not alone in its current dilemma, whether or not to regulate bitcoins.Only a few countries have actually taken the bold step to declare its stance.I think the strongest argument that will show whether a particular government is willing to legalise bitcoins or not is if it is discussing a possible tax on it.Government will only place a tax on what they declare legal.
On the central bank's intention to use blockchain, there is a distinction (at least in government circles) bitcoin and the underlying technology -blockchain.They can use the blockchain and still reject bitcoins. What you should focus on is the tax aspect.I do hope they legalize bitcoin in india. It will benefits indians a lot.Indians are smart people and they have some of the brightest minds in emerging technology. All the best.

Bitcoin can become legal in the future by majority of the countries around the world and India will eventually allow bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies with its own kind of regulation and taxation. But it still depends on the outcome of the G20 summit on cryptocurrencies that held in Brazil. In that meeting, some members resisted call to discuss regulating cryptocurrencies at the conferences because they need to examine the digital coins further before any regulaltion could be proposed. The G20 members will meet again in July this year to give their recommendations on globally regulating the cryptocurrencies.

India would probably decide upon it by next year. I am sure this would be positive. Son of a businessman has gong through his studies on blockchain and he shared his throughts on blockchain on a vedio about blockchain. It seems he has set up a team already and working on it. The name of the coin would be Jiocoin. The leader of the governemnt is in support to this business man as the leader is supported financially by him. So we can expect a coin launched from India next year if the current govenment comes over the authority again.

But I think we should not focus on that part we should focus to the part that government will acknowledge bitcoin and we should start using it in our transaction because this is really a good technology.

I think your point mate is to declare an illegal which it takes time to be happen since bitcoin is legal in most countries throughout the world. Well, as we all know there are some countries bitcoin didn't legalized it since some of their economic growth might affected. Like those people who already know much more on crypto currency as a result they didn't focus on there job which cause them force to resign and full-time in crypto currency so their government didn't legalized as they believe it may cause a great downfall on their economy but somehow most countries legalized bitcoin and some of the country support it as the crypto currency gives big help to the individual users to earn and support their financial aspect.

But as time passes, some countries begin to look at Bitcoin and digital currencies with different perspectives, and try to enforce the rules of bitcoin.

I think, It is not impossible if in the future bitcoin will become legal around the world.

Bitcoin will not become a legal means of payment until it is understandable to the state.

Technically, there are countries who legalise the utilisation of bitcoin like Japan since they view it as something that can be beneficial to the state and to the society. Though some countries like China, South Korea, and Malaysia have imposed strict rules, regulations and restrictions, they absolutely do not prohibit it completely. In the aspect of making bitcoin as an alternative payment, some countries have started accepting bitcoin as payment to retailers, services and products. The problem that I think may occur concerns the transaction speed since it needs to be accepted under the blockchain technology.

But in the future I see in some country already step by step legalized bitcoin. In some country, they do transactions using bitcoin to make a great service and fast payment.

I think it depends on the government of every country if they want to declare bitcoin as legal or illegal. But for us i am sure that we all want bitcoin to become legal all over the world.

My government decide to forbid bitcoin usage because bitcoin still consider as risky investment and able to cause inflation.

G-20 still not give any action on bitcoin yet but it's not affect on my government decision to keep forbid bitcoin.

For me , bitcoin is not criminal money but for who use it that responsible with their action
I believe that there are still countries who will not declare bitcoin legal, but there will some popular counties just like in Japan who will gonna in favor with it, I hope that here in our country will make a big difference too, that here we will all gonna make things legal so that we won't have any problem in the future.
For countries such as China, it is very difficult for the government to accept. The current cough has not been able to control this market, and this is the opportunity for many rulers to corrupt and put money into bitcoins as a form of hiding.
Not as difficult as it seems...Just imagine,Today,Many countries have already accepted it and these countries are more attractive for consumers, startupers and business investors than countries like China or even Japan,I think they will start thinking about competition very soon in another situation they will lose a golden opportunity to develope their technological abilities,I know China is one of the most well-developed country but its not enaugh, they need to open doors for more success. We know countries for example Malta,Republic of georgia and others which already known as a friendly countries for blockchain and bitcoin, which i think would be an example for other countries to create same, liberal approaches.

Today so many people came to know about bitcoin. It can be discussed in media itself. So many countries will accept bitcoin as legal in their country. In future bitcoin will be more popular among the people.

The issue of legality of Bitcoin in india still remains a conundrum, leaving everyone confused. The government still holds the criticism that Bitcoin investment is just like fraudulent investment schemes. However, America's recent acceptance of Bitcoin and other powerful countries like Germany, Canada etc will in no time attract India's interest in accepting it.

The legal status of bitcoin varies substantially from country to country and is still undefined or changing in many of them. Whereas the majority of countries do not make the usage of bitcoin itself illegal, its status as money (or a commodity) varies, with differing regulatory implications. While some countries have explicitly allowed its use and trade, others have banned or restricted it. Likewise, various government agencies, departments, and courts have classified bitcoins differently. ... :-* :-*

Every decision your government make will affect on your economy fundamental , it's subjective judgement , IMO

The main reason as to why Bitcoin was created was to fight against the corrupted governments and especially banks. But you know, there is always a time when we should sacrifice one thing to allow bitcoin to survive. I am for the regulations. But they should not impose such strict ones even for the taxes because people want to start something, not to give it to the governments. I hope they legalize it as soon as possible.

It will be soon. Just wait on convincing the government should legalize this. Also, soon they found out that theres no illegal things happening here.

At the same time some countries banned the bitcoin. But in future surely all countries accept bitcoin as legal. But it take some time to make it as legal. In my opinion, caring about the government - or banks - "approving" of crypto is antithetical to the purpose of crypto itself. Crypto can and will exist without these institutions so why are we giving them so much leverage?

It can be in the few years if the Indian government will push truly the desire to legalize bitcoin. It will be more effective if the bitcoiners people will support the objectives. I hope no harm will happen during that time.

It all depend on the Country,Government, the Economy and the people from that Country or people living in that particular Country but for me I think it will be declared legal, but it's a matter of time as Bitcoin users increase by the day and people now use it on transactions on daily basis it will help Bitcoin to be legal.

I don't think we would see Bitcoin being declare as legal during this couple of years, maybe it can happen in the future
Within two years, states should determine the status of the crypto currency, classify it, including recognizing bitcoin and other crypto currency as a means of payment, or not. There will always be a variety of options. There will be various options for recognizing bitcoin, where he will have both a legal and semi-legal status, where he will be recognized as an asset, where property is where the means of payment are. That is, after these two years, it will take a long time for states to come to some common opinion on this issue.

It can be legal in future almost.
Very few countries have gone as far as to declare bitcoin illegal.
However, just because something isn't legal tender, does not mean that it cannot be used for payment - it just means that there are no protections for either the consumer or the merchant, and that its use as payment is completely discretionary.

At the moment it is difficult to answer this question because, although bitcoin is the first crypto, the most popular and the reason reason why many are really want to have it which is the very common situation to all investors.
Although bitcoin is successful, its rapidly changing price which is the reason why some governments around the world are opposed to it.

Yeah for the next few years I think bitcoin will be more popular and bitcoin users will get bigger. of course the user has a desire for bitcoin can be legalized. perhaps the magnitude of the pressure on bitcoin legality will make governments change their minds to legalize bitcoin. thank goodness if some countries already have a thought to legalize bitcoin. besides that legalization for bitcoin can be beneficial for both right?

Sure it will be declare as legal in all countries but not immediately, it will take long time to accept. Because of bitcoin popularity and growth many countries now declared bitcoin as legal in their country. The others keep watching closely the countries economic growth of bitcoin accepted countries. If the change is good and the economic growth is high means automatically the other countries also consider and accept bitcoin as legal in their country.

For the Indian government, the petition has been rescheduled to July, 2018. It appears the bitcoin advocate holds much stands of winning at the end of the day. I wouldn't be surprised if India accepts Bitcoin at the end of the day as many Asian countries are going for the cryptocurrency order.

Recently, a special commission set up by the Government of India has come to the conclusion that bitcoin can be recognized in this country as a means of payment, that is, it can fulfill the role of money. This is very interesting, considering that for a long period of time in this country there were serious disputes over the future of the crypto currency and it was in India under the threat of permanent prohibition. We just have to wait until the conclusion of this commission was fixed by the relevant decision of the government.

In my opinion. someday the digital currency (bitcoin / altcoin) will be legalized by all countries. in my opinion, digital currency will greatly help the economy when the technology is modern and the level of financial transactions is increasing so require a digital currency that can support all these activities.
to the extent that bitcoin will never be valid in some countries, because there are some countries that reject it and as long as bitcoin still has such characteristics the country will never accept bitcoin, and until now bitcoin will only be accepted in some countries that have used it from now on . Some time in the future there will probably be some more countries that try to use bitcoin but not all countries will approve it.

actually the Indian government is well aware that the cryptocurrensy currency cannot be banned and regulated by any country, so the government may be studying the workings of the digital currency, and is preparing technology support for that in the future, the government will surely follow the steps of developed countries like Japan, America, and other developed countries are starting to use bitcoin currencies, and it is very likely that the government will also make their own cryptocurrency currency, we can see the next five to ten years.

Government will agree to legalize it, if they would be able to monitor/regulate it. There are a lot of users now but majority of people are still unaware or don't use cryptocurrency and those majority are governments priority.

They see crypto as a possible threat as it's anonymity could be used in criminal activities as stated by some government officials in some country.

A lot scamming cases arises recently involving crypto's which is not a good news in the community.

He reiterated that India does not recognise them as legal tender and will instead encourage blockchain technology in payment systems.

No government would allow something that they could not control. Government needs to have power in most of the things or else they would go to war from it. Like for example Resources and nuclear weapons.

I agree with you, the country that has been declared to legalize bitcoin will take the benefits of bitcoin and maybe they can apply the tax for bitcoin user so it means, they can get another income for their country. I am sure that the other country will follow their step and the cryptocurrency and bitcoin will walk together with fiat because cryptocurrency has a big chance to be legal in all country. besides that, cryptocurrency can be the next currency in all country too because soon, the technology will be better so the cryptocurrency has a big chance to be used in our life.

At the point when government is prepared to take a choice, nobody will compel them and I would recommend appropriating their choice line isn't the best as this would prompt superfluous theory which will additionally exacerbate the unpredictability issues encompassing bitcoin right now. All I know is one of the central point that will impact government choice is that duty that will be created and how it will be finished by the trade site. The minute this has been accomplished each other thing will fall in line.

One should not turn a blind eye to technological progress. Bitcoin takes some control from the state, but gives its citizens great advantages, thereby the state becomes more competitive and ultimately strong. As a result, sooner or later, states will have to adapt Bitcoin.

They will be forcibly to accept Bitcoin and blockchain in the future, especially when half of the people in global are using Bitcoin for their daily transactions and some of them use crypto more than the fiat.

Potentially, the market of crypto-currencies in India can reach a mammoth size, given the number of people. Of course, the middle class in India is not rich, very many people may want to invest. And state control by the government of India, will bring her a lot of preferences, and in the far-sighted version, this is a deliberate position.

My understanding is that the usage and/or status of Bitcoin in India is legal as it is not yet decided by the court as they gave the government until September 11 to respond to all petitions... "India’s Supreme Court heard the petitions against the crypto banking ban by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) today. After hearing some arguments from both sides, the court decided to set another hearing date, allowing some of the regulators involved to respond to the petitions." See more for yourself here.

All risks related to the ownership / use of Bitcoin are borne by the owner / user of the Bitcoin and other virtual currencies themselves, because Bitcoin is one of the crypto currencies that uses a block chain or blockchain system, if the problem is legitimate or not it depends on the country itself, because the country has the right to determine it .

Maybe in the next few years will be legal. Given the increasing bitcoin users and also the practical bitcoin to do the transaction plus the other features that make it easier for bitcoin users

maybe the use of bitcoin has been very broad and some countries have recognized and used it for legitimate exchange tools, but there are still many countries that still reject the use of bitcoin, especially poor countries and underdeveloped countries, and there are still many areas that have not been touched by sophisticated technology and purchasing systems and their sales are still traditional and still use conventional currencies

I think the use of bitcoin is only limited to developed countries, for developing countries it is likely that it still takes a long time.

I dont think no government will declare bitcoin legal in India after demonetization in India, Indian government had to reply lots of questions if government declares bitcoin legal then first they have make people educate Indian people what is bitcoin and then have to answer their lots of question so I think it is not possible in India. ::) ::)

Bitcoin is a type of money. Do we ever ask ouselves if money is legal or not? No. Money is legal however people can use it in an illegal way. The same with Bitcoin and any other cryptocurrency.

At present, there are countries that have already legalized bitcoin and crypto-currencies, but not everywhere they have the status of money. In some countries, the crypto currency has been given the status of private property.

I guess that many countries were declared bitcoin as a legal and some of the country still not gives any statement. but soon, after they are finished learning about bitcoin, the other country will declare bitcoin as a legal too and maybe this will go to happen in the next year. we can only wait for the country gives the statement about bitcoin and we cannot push every government to declare bitcoin to be legal because the government controls the regulation of every country so we need to be patient for this.

We are already close to this, many countries are finally beginning to understand that changes are needed, otherwise an economic crisis will happen again.

For now bitcoin is not yet legal as a currency, maybe in the future if the government can accept bitcoin then bitcoin can be legitimated as a currency and can be used as a transaction tool.

My country sees a great potential in it and our local banks are willing to even partnerships with other cryptocurrencies. It is still not regulated or legal but with the positive news that keeps coming, I know eventually it will.

I'm sure bitcoin will be declared as the legal currency someday, but reading about the thoughts shared, the idea that it will be legalized seems true. the problem is, the government still have a doubt on it, they haven't have enough bravery to take risks, and haven't positive fully about the benefits of bitcoin as the currency.

When government is ready to take a decision, no one will force them and I would suggest preempting their decision line is not the best as this would lead to unnecessary speculation which is going to further worsen the volatility issues surrounding bitcoin at the moment.the problem is, the government still have a doubt on it, they haven't have enough bravery to take risks, and haven't positive fully about the benefits of bitcoin as the currency.

It still depend on a type of government because every country has its own laws or regulations on currency. Most wealthy nations are inclined to allow the use of bitcoin and some of them are already legalized bitcoin as one of their currency. Other countries restricted the use of bitcoin because in their own laws, the cryptocurrencies are illegal.

hey guys, there is a piece of news today, we can discuss further.
If we consider big banks as institutions in the USA,
and they support or even encourage trading with crypto currencies,
can we infer it is a first step in the legalization?
Have a look at this

If govt want their good, good for country then they will give legality to bitcoin. If we look at prospect of bitcoin there is a possibility that someday the government will give legality to bitcoin and participate in it. Thats it

As for my own perceptions here, bitcoin can be declared as legal if the leaders of a certain country will accept the importance of bitcoin to people's lives. Without any hesitation in each country, bitcoin will surely be accepted when there's support from leaders who wants to pursue cryptocurrency.

Its up for the government, but if I were to suggest being legal is better, there will be some issues such as using it for illegal dealings but as a countermeasure bitcoin users can easily bring money to their country from another. So it easily helping with their economy just like that.
bitcoin is declared valid or not, it all depends on the attitude of the country where we live because supporting or not the facts that occur now are more and more users and business people start using bitcoin in every transaction, so it's legal or illegal is not important because all parties have begun to realize the importance crypto currency because it provides convenience in each of their trading transactions.

Not a lot more that can be added to the thread except to say it won't be major World Governments that introduce Crypto to the masses, rather, it will be smaller, less well thought of countries that are often overlooked that will be the early adopters of coin/tokens/or whatever comes after them.

I remember that I already read about the country which accepts bitcoin as a legal thing but I do not remember where I read that news. I think soon, many countries will accept bitcoin as a new payment solution for their people so their people can use bitcoin and have bitcoin to solve their problem. but there is any country that is not ready to declare bitcoin as a legal and they still make a research about bitcoin to know how they can get the benefits of bitcoin to them.

Actually bitcoin has been declared a payment instrument in various countries, but for countries that do not support the use of bitcoin it is still not categorized as legitimate but the state also does not prohibit its ownership to be categorized as a commodity, it may still take a long time for bitcoin to be accepted as payment instruments in all countries, maybe 10 years ...

Maybe in the future each government in that country are planning to make Bitcoin as legal currency because Bitcoin helping family to make reach their dream and also to help their own family, relatives and their own needs. Bitcoin helping investors to make easier find a good investing unlike on company they needs a lot proposal or ads to convince the man to invest their company Bitcoin is easier than that and easier to reach them out.
