I do not know about spam but they say they are unable to handle all support tickets and they need additional people, I think it will be back sometime

Every time I visited that exchange I would see floods of text just going down the list, it was an effort to even read the last sentence typed without it moving.

I do not think it is a definite reason to justify that they are really dead, because I know poloniex is a great market, they will not be short of people to solve this ticket problem, because I think it's just uncertainty and unclear reasons in such a case this.

can any poloniex watchers tell me what effect it might have on the pumps there? was it a driver of them? will this slow everything down?

Lately it was so flooded there, that I don't think anybody was reading it. Only FUDers and speculators were posting every hundredth of the second it was hard to even read something. Don't think anybody was influenced by the trollbox.

Why would a person spend time in a trollbox?

This could be attributed to that person, nothing could be read because there were so many already written.

A big exchange like Poloniex should handle their chatbox properly on Yobit you will get a ban up to 7 days if you keep spamming their chatbox,they really need to keep it clean this is one feature where you can tell if the site lose it's control .

don't you have to have a minimum balance on btc-e to troll? i seem to remember it's an insane amount now like a $5000 equivalent. they should do something similar, but lower.

I am glad it is close too, too many spams. It is really difficult to ask genuine questions and trying to catch the reply from moderator.  I hope it has better control if the troll box ever come back.

was it really that interesting? it was a useless feature in my opinion and only took up resources. the server resources that could have been dedicated to a more smooth trading platform and also an open socket that took some part of your bandwidth while visiting the site ;)

I also observed that everytime I visit poloniex. Most of them are spams but some are problems about trading.

The more popular altcoin trading got the more users they had concurrently and the more spam there was. It used to at least be readable despite all the spam but lately it was just a big blur from all the people writing.

It was an unnecessary distraction, filled with FUD and shill post. I'm not going to miss it, having a real conversation in the troll box was near impossible during peak hours. It was a firehouse of rubbish during that period so was best to ignore it.

It's better this way. I always hate trollbox.

Besides what everyone has said about the massive amount of spamming in the trollbox, the biggest problem was the mods were way too lenient.  Most people were only banned for an hour and just came back and did the same thing.  Real conversations and useful info were rare.  1st warning should've been a few days ban, then a few weeks, then months, and so on if you didn't understand how to behave like a rational human being.

90% of the people in there were going full retard with "omg wow XRP moon!!!!" "buy now guise ETH $1000 soon hurry!!!".  I just wanted to strangle all these people for making me waste my time reading their garbage, while I'm trying to sift through it all to see what real news is.

I agree with this, they should've added some kind of restrictions so that not anyone and everyone could chat and spam.  A few thousand would be a good minimum though now with crypto booming $5k isn't even that much. :p

actually it was fun to read some spammers... as no one there for help it was good place to kill time. i feel lonely now without box and made me push to leave also :( and now all the whales can hunt easly without alerted costumers... feel so unsecure ...

 HINT:  Trollbox was the only way people were finding out about the large number of accounts polo was not allowing to cash out.

 HINT:  the logic does not hold. chatMods are not trained paid support service staff. If a huge place like polo NEEDS more support
they could just HIRE new support, but they do not seem to have.
 
 For safety, I personally am moving my funds from Polo- if they let me have them.

What I gathered from that flooding text wall was, indeed, a lot of withdrawal problems, nobody seems to get verified, support staff is overwhelmed and the ticket backlog is weeks to months.

i remember they modered it quite well last tiem i visited poloniex, they didn't allow to talk about the trading i remember, i didn't see all this spam last time i was there, but i don't care either about the trollbox, an exchange is for trading not for chatting

I for one am actually sad that the trollbox is gone. Yeah it was full of spam, but it has somewhat become part of a habit. It was entertaining at times to, if at all just to LOL at all the screaming. RIP trollbox you will be missed too.

In the recent weeks the trollbox was very hard spammed and it was very hard to get any info or read something because many many people where writing at the same time.

I think it was the only place where we could gather any fast info and request something from they team to do, There were many mods that tried to handle the requests but I think they have seen that it was very very hard.

Now the number of tickets will be increased and I hope these mods that were in trollbox will answer the tickets by email.

Few weeks ago I asked in the trollbox, why things on polo are so laggy when things getting hot.
Got no answer.
Asked again - and got banned for lifetime.
So I did the same, what I did on my first minutes on Polo:
Pushed the little button on the upper right and hid the neverending stream of bullshit...

What is another trollbox to follow?  Not for the troll part necessarily, but I get a lot of news from trollbox faster than other sources.

Well this hasn't happened to me ever, I was in a position that I needed the moderators help and if they didn't saw my message at the first time I didn't rush to write/spam immediately but I waited a bit.

Then I asked again by tagging their name @.. and then the texts gets green so they see it better and in this way I got response from them.


Like that everyone can create trollbox with any domain but it is not the same as it was build-in poloniex.

Yeah it was a great way to get quick answers from mods, but I think a livechat would have worked better for this because trollbox was becoming spammier by the day.

since there's a time polo got a problem or issue with their service its better to have a live chat so we can have a clear answer since trollbox already been removed, we still need communication aside from sending tickets if polo can manage to create a good support staff for faster resolution.

Well, I guess the website will be a bit less heavy to load now  :P

It won't be bad for newcomers to remove this as this thing was used to influence people sometimes badly.

Same here. I didn't notice it the first time until I saw this thread. Oh well, I used to watch trollbox andl loved to see people mentioning coins that needs to pump and then a few minutes ago, then coin has been pump very hard. Until a few days then the dumping starts and you don't know what happened. Truly this trollbox has been used multiple times by a lot of pump and dump groups. Sorry to see its gone now.

It is good they removed it. I usually kept that box closed because i couldn't read anything. It was just too fast.
It seems site is loading a bit faster now.

Remember Cryptsy? What happened? First the withdrawals never completed. Then customer service was out of reach....

Cryptsy staff still tried to address problems in the chat. Its gone. My last two withdrawals from Poloniex never arrived. They show as "Completed: Error"

Want to talk to Poloniex staff? No problem. Just create a Freshdesk account and hope they reply.

The structures and staffing of exchanges has always been poor. And each one should be suspect. Its been 48 hrs and I dont have an answer on my "error" withdrawals

Now, last week I had noticed something that was shady. Staff had suggested that every withdrawal is manually processed after you confirm the withdrawal from your email. Isnt that an odd way to handle the sending of BTC? I mean since day one we had (and still have faucets) that make the payments automatically. I had been skeptical of Poloniex so I signed up just to test it out. They failed. I had to troll them for 4 days to get them to approve a withdrawal. Now, that started happening with Cryptsy when they didnt have the money to actually make the withdrawals. Just like when there are runs on banks. Delay the withdrawal any way possible. Now I get errors. For 7 years Ive never had a completed transaction not appear and be listed by an independent source as having an error.

I do not feel lucky with the trollbox, when this lost to me it does not matter. For me trading is my own choice and is not dependent on the trollbox or anyone else. relax.

I`ve never had any issue with poloniex in 1 year, excepting the lag.  Your "test" operations may be rejected just because they are barely over fee amount of 0.0001 and maybe poloniex is spammed with dust transactions, in and out,  so they must have installed a filter for dust. And I always withdraw to the same addresses, maybe thats a factor too. Anyway, I avoid sending exotic alts between exchanges, just BTC, ETH, LTC when possible.


Regarding the trollbox, I think it`s a bit concerning its demise and I trully understand the "industry growth" speach, but without doubt they`re making nice money with latest volumes so, they can afford to hire/outsource personnel.

With over 50K online users at peak time, the trollbox was overwhelmed and unusable, a change was due, perhaps splitting the trollbox on different channels and hire/enroll more moderators.

I liked the trollbox, despite all the spam, shills and abusers, it was a good way to take the "pulse of the street", with skeptcisism.

For now, I`ve joined Trollbox on telegram.

For it's a good way that they remove the troll box because it doesn't help at all. And mainly reason because in trollbox there's HYPE MODE that happening and for it's a nice way that they close the troll box because moderators can focus now in the support's fixing all the issues against the problem

I`d really like to see on poloniex a counter of open/solved tickets and such data, to see if their efforts are effective.

Well polo's chat was a significant part of my polo experience, and it more than just sucks to lose the trollbox. Losing the trollbox is probably for me what it would be like for a twitter lover to lose twitter. They ended it so abruptly without any farewell or anything suggesting they feel any way about it. I hope that means they might bring it back, and not that they just don't care.

Cmon guys we all know they closed it because of the massive amount of spam/abuse that was going on.  They couldn't just come out and make a notice like "we're sick of all you idiots rambling a bunch of nonsense shit 24/7, we're closing the trollbox!".  They have to be professional at the end of the day and state the reason as a need for more support. lol

That's good to know if that's the case. A lot of people surely did miss trollbox. Sad to say there were a lot of spammers than those who really are into trading. But I hope with this new trollbox website it can be manipulated by the admin/mod and prevent spammers from trolling.

Well the word indefinitely means for an unspecified or unlimited time so unless Poloniex has said elsewhere its forever then I don't think it means never. So I'm hoping someone has heard something more than just speculation.

Yes, many people are creating lot Hypes in the troll box, it is not good for the Polo if they keep on trolling and issues are being raised by the members so it is damaging a lot. Yes, it is a good decision to stop the troll box.

By disabling trollbox they are censored customer complains about indefinite "Awaiting approval" withdrawals. Poloniex needs to be audited, they are lost customer's trust.

Polo has not "caught up" with tickets and its been, what, 3 weeks now? I still have friends that are awaiting approval and a stupid 3 btc withdrawal (been on polo forever). Its unbelievable. Not to mention they do not add any of these new and awesome coins.

Exchanges like Tidex, Liqui, YoBit and others are going to overtake exchanges like Polo and Bittrex if they dont start getting their act together soon.

You guys are missing the trollbox now huh? Volume has decreased 10-20% within the same time during the week.  The pumps that fomo aren't getting as crazy as before because theres no chat to shill to the newbs.  I don't know why people hate money so much.

many people have bad experience with poloniex support system because they are really to slow to give a reply for their members so the members needs to waiting too long. if poloniex can solve this problem, they will be one of the best crypto currency market because they have many of members which is trading in that site.

they are one off the biggest exchange. they will fix it.. they just cant handle the amount off trading ppl.

What gives? They disabled ETH / ETC deposits on 22nd and it is still disabled! Meanwhile my miners sent 5 ETC to the polo address as i was so sure they would clean up their act and get it working in a couple days! Now there are no responses from their twitter handle and i see a few scam accusations against them! I did manage to withdraw the little BTC i had on there, which was being used for lending. I guess it is bittrex for now, i just hope polo is able to sort out their stuff and get back online soon!

I hope that no trollbox in Poloniex will get better, so there will be no more spam chat and hopefully there will be no more problems in Poloniex because I was traumatized when the focus of the trading happens overload.

Well it is a trollbox. I don't read there actually since I know people are just spamming shills and fuds. And imagine if there are 10,000 users at the same time? We cannot read and talk comprehensibly. If poloniex wants it back then maybe they will create rooms and mods will insta kick anyone out of topic.

the trollbox was really spinning that difficult to read the dropped messages, that was fun part. and not only fud stuffs, some of keywords was there when hype happened in a specific crypt currency - that was useful. ;)

Got pretty out of hand by the end with the volume of messages and number of clueless noob questions, but was still hands down the best place to go for breaking news on prices spikes/dips/crytpo issues and as a news source and gauge of community sentiment.  Shame there's nothing that's taken it's place as yet.  Glad I never wasted too much time trying to up my pink now though.
