Yeah, good way for anyone like use Trollbox, about me, I not like this because it will take me more scared and take my PC lagging more. Thank you Polo disable it ;D

Is this a legit Poloniex Trollbox? :) Or just a Poloniex fan? But I like the idea for updates and fun in trading. Hope to meet some whale in your group chat,what coins is good to invest and so forth. Joing the gc now...  ;)

Did they offer any reasons why they closed it?
I didn't really use it myself, but it was funny to read some conversations in there sometimes, usually absurd speculation that was often dead wrong...

Steer clear of Polo. Their customer service is absolute crap. They have too many mods in trollbox talking to everyone and they dont fix any issues with their system. They are useless.

I have been waiting since middle of may for my withdrawal to go through on a few hundred dollars of btc... support ticket created 3 weeks ago. I ask for updates in support ticket.... no response. Moderators in troll box just say support will get to it soon. Soon to them is 3 to 4 weeks or more. Others are waiting for over a month to withdraw. If they closed the trollbox that is why. Everyone is complaining about their bad service.

Also i emailed their support(which it says to do if your ticket wasnt answered in 48 hours). No reply from that. 3 weeks+ i am waiting so far. Other exchanges dont do this at all.

Though it was only me or was due to my crappy computer. I ran away from Poloniex website the first day I visited because my whole laptop got frozen except my little pointer.
Their mobile site brought me back otherwise I would be Trading on some other exchanges by now

Yes. They posted this in the NOTICES tab:

"To meet the increasing demands on support staff, the Trollbox has been disabled indefinitely and moderators have been reallocated to assist in support."

Which is something good because their support is very bad and they take days to answer a simple support ticket, while the trollbox is most used to overhype coins and pump shitcoins. I'm sure I'm not gonna miss it.

Once I had a problem with my 1 eth depo. Paid tx fee so was hoping to have it in my polo account, but hours and hours have passed, I ask mod on trollbox, they just told me to wait. Then after so many hours I asked them again, found out my eth depo is stuck because of some fee on top of tx fee that I have paid. So my 0.9990xxx eth was stuck until i made another depo to meet 1eth minimum.

Feedback : I could've saved time if mods do their job.

I have small balance on polo. If I go withdrawals route for LTC and strat, I'll be waiting for days or the waiting is only for BTC?

I'm glad is closed, other exchanges should do the same. Troll boxes are just full of lies  :o

Wow, that is junk. I liked the Trollbox on Poloniex, it was a fun place to chill with other Bitcoiner’s.

I guess there is only that one chatbox in BTC-E where it costs like a couple of hundred dollars just for the entry in the chatroom. Not a fan.

glad to know that poloniex trollbox has been disabled and i heard about the mod is moving their support to support system to help people in that division. i think its good because support system poloniex is not good and they seem to gets slowly for giving response to their members and members need to wait for at least 3 days to get the answers.

i loved it it was great, loads of shilling but some gems. polo should have a separate server for it run it separate to exchange as it is what makes it better than bittrex. if you believe a box called trollbox then you deserve any losses.

x2 The Trollbox was a nice place to have a few laughs every now and then. Even though the Trollbox was a place for hyping whatever coin you have/or going to get then the people that read it and get advice from the Trollbox were the ones that usually lost money by it.

I miss it already, I am not so sure why Poloniex exchange got rid of it since they make enough money to pay the moderators if they needed to..

TUXexchange has a great trollbox that is very lightly moderated..
Not only do they let you say controversial shit but they have fun with it..
Even much more forgiving than Cryptsy used to be..

Was the lag caused by the troll box or what? why do I still have lag then? I never used polo but I have used their charts some times. I never use any exchanges if they have lag like making their pages inaccessible, for a company earning thousands of dollars daily it shouldn't be hard to provide a fast and reliable service, we're paying them fees. for how long are they going to make excuses of being under DOS" attacks?

I am really very very happy that damn trollbox has been closed. I know some people who use trollbox to buy a coin. I don't understand why some people follow this box to buy a coin? This is bullshit. How you can trust someone you don't know. Just chit chat and wasting time nothing more.

It is really difficult to manage the troll box in Poloniex as it is really hard to read a message and with the amount of new users increasing every now and then it is really difficult for them to manage everything even with increasing the troll moderators and they are receiving more complaints about their delay in troll box which made them halt the message service for the meant time until everything is resolved and i do not think it will affect anything :)

That’s pretty lame, the trollbox was Poloniex Exchange best feature on the website. People just go on that website so they can hangout with other cryptocurrency users and just chill though now it’s more catered to people making money and that’s pretty much it. There’s nothing else that anyone can do on that website other than just spending Bitcoin/Alt and making a Bitcoin/Alt Withdrawal.

I won’t be joining in Poloniex chat it’s just weird to have two different services running at the same time just for Polo.

Holy shit, they closed the trollbox down?!

I had a ticket that pended foreeeever when the withdrawals last stuck, I saw that the trollbox was alight with complaints but I didn't think anything of it. Users always get iraye when the wallets start acting up; its a fact if life. I'm assuming the user complaints must have gotten to be too much? The box has been a fud fest since it's inception; I can't see them shutting it down for liability reasons, or to stem speculation. I wonder if they will still keep hiring supports every few months anymore ;)

What happened here? What was the official line on why they closed it?

The only official line would be they will once again start the troll box once everything is settled for good,they are having issues with the site for the past one month and all the deposits and withdrawals are getting delayed and they are getting a huge volume of complaints on a daily basis and people are trolling their anger and frustrations in the troll box which made them hard to deal everything and so they might have thought about taking it down for the moment. :D they have bigger issues than the troll box and they really need to increase their infrastructure to accommodate the amount of traffic they are getting.

Ahh, thanks for that, I suspected as much, it was really hectic and I couldn't get a response to a common inquiry (and everyone was too onery to answer me out of hand). I didnt stick around too long, figured they'd get to me eventually (it provisioned days before they touched the ticket). Was unusual for them, abysmal customer service. Banhammer was swinging as well, but that's all the time ;)

 I see they bit off a little bit more than they could chew with the box; I'm honestly surprised it lasted as long as it did. It was a nightmare a CEX ;)

I like Poloniex trollbox but not that I will visit other site just to visit them. Im not a multi tab user and if Im using mobile I always open just few tabs. Surely there will be more added of trolls there as slack chat is hard to moderate.

Passed on this. Poloniex must limit instead their user to used their trollbox so that no more trolls there or will be minimized. Like in able to make post on trollbox, a user must already meet a certain requirements of trades to see they are really traders in the site and just to create account to throw trolls on their trollbox.

mostly people are getting wiser now a days so they are not listening to what they seen inside the trollbox, its just  a simple logic
not entertain any trolls to hype their coin so for this maybe private trolls i guess they will just recreating this on their own to talk
about their own businesses.

TBH removing the troll box is really good . yes i will miss the trolling and when i was waiting to sell or buy something trollbox was always a good place

to pass time just by reading it . but when i was actually doing somethings it sometime take my attention away .  plus as someone above said i saw

some people actually use trollbox to make a decision on buying or selling a coin .

Definitely having trollbox withdrawal, checked it everyday and if sifted through the crap u could connect with other cryptoheads and sometimes find pertinent news.  :-\

Yes - a LONG time lucker of Bitcointalk - (is this the longest anyone has been a member before post one?) - Anyway, I nearly totally agree with each of your points - it was a great feature and brought a good amount of news links about crypto and blockchain that gave some real business sense to a few of the coins. - Indeed, a website to chat about another webpage is weird and not in most people's interest....I DO think that trading WILL be dampened by the lack of hype and news links - but, one never knows in crypto, do we.
