Title: ICO ? Is it worth it ?
Post by: AlexSimion on June 15, 2017, 08:19:11 AM
Can anyone inform me a little on the ICO market ? Basically it's an investment that can bring profit or not bring anything, this part is clear.
I would like to know if there are any trusted ICO's out there and not just the regular runners with the investments.
Has anyone here had any substantial succes with any ICO ? Like you invested in some ICO when the shares were costing close to nothing and now to be worth a lot ?

BTC is a great investment, but every investor needs to diversify his risks - so you need to invest in different assets.
For example, your portfolio looks like this:
 - 50% BTC, Etherium
 - 30% Crypto funds (Satoshi fund, TaaS fund, Token fund etc)
 - 20% ICO and any other alternatives

On alternatives you can make 5000% per month, but it is too risky.

I think all ICOs are not like that, but keep in mind if you want to invest in ICO, you should check it first to prove all the projects are really clear and the exact details of what they have done.

It is better to buy some decentralized altcoin with working devs on it rather than ANY ICO!

I just hold ETH, 20x gains come on, what is wrong with people. You want dumb tokens that will take 24 months to see a return on it, and that's if the founders haven't run off with the money again. ICO = Imaginary Company Offering

the bold part is your answer! what more do you need?
you can't really predict what will happen to an ICO, because for the most part they are created to take your money and nothing else.
and for the rest even if it is not a scam ICO, you will never have any way of telling if it can succeed when it hits the market and keep the price up and compete with others.
and it has already happened multiple times. you think they are legit, they even look good, and they even have no intention of scamming but they fail miserably.

Yes. You should check out the thread of the ICO, if it looks good (good replys, lots of pages), there is a high potential that the project will be good aswell. I invested in Iconomi ICO, and it has proven itself to be great! So i would advise you to check the ICOs, read some replys, analyse how it looks and what it is promising, and then invest in it! Usually if you invested in a good ICO, you get x2 almost straight when it hits an exchange.

For me, which I think quite a number of people will agree with me is that, it does actually worth it but dont do it blindly because as much as there are reputable ones out there, there are quite enough of scammers out there too who dont care whether to hurt or maim in other to get money as that is their motive and objective. Just do your due diligence and be ready to believe in it.

I agree with you. Some of the recent ICO projects are not actually worth it. Many people are not aware of the risks of an scam.

How about status, tezos and omisego ico? it looks good IMO. but you must remember before try to joining in the flip group. There is a lot of percentage if the investors are just using the ico as his way to flip his monet to get the more profit from the weak hand after the coin get listed on the exchange site.

it is worth to invest in ICO and I do believe that you always earn a good amount of money from ICO. If you have money, spend some of yours in ICO and you will gain a good profit. However, you need to learn how to analyze ICO to avoid scamming ICO

I bought an ICO on ICONOMI last November for only $30 and I think the value right now in terms of percentage is already 600% or my share of token is now 6 times in value. I am not saying the same thing can happen with all the ICOs around but is it safe to say that many of them can be very profitable.

Buying coins/token at the ICO stage means you are buying them at their lowest rate plus you can also receive some bonuses and if you are also hardworking you can likewise participate in their bounty program giving you more coins.

However, you have to do your own research because not all ICOs can succeed and there are some who abandoned their project leaving "investors' holding empty bags. I am not expert on this but there are already many sites who can recommend good ICO projects.

ETH was basically an ICO, well not exactly but a crowdsale at first. Look at where it is now.

Absolutely not. It's just a gamble. None have no utility value whatsoever.

Thats a ridiculous statement, there are so many different types of ICOs you can't just put them all in the same basket. Some ICOs are even based on real world investments rather than crypto based ones.

I believe the new Facebook in the Crypto World has not yet emerged. When it will it will most likely can in the form of an ICO. Since I don't know which is the best, I believe spreading things over to different coins increases my chances of hitting the jackpot.

Always I analyse and read to see which ICO's to avoid.

It is a gamble, even if a project looks solid there is no way to tell if it will succeed or not.  It seems that the majority of projects / altcoins being released now need to raise funds via an ICO.

This was not always the case, I am not a fan of ICOs now because they are too common place and a lot of the time they simply are not needed, greed plays a factor in this.

If you look around you will find sites like https://www.ico-list.com that will list all the live ICOs and from there you can do your own research.

I join the RISE ICO last year we thought that it is all scam because it fall apart it didn't succeed on the 1st part after the ICO ended but now price became higher. All ICO has roadmaps you must choose the best ICO you think that will succeed on the future and HODL it for 2 to 3 years until the price goes up. Remember Patience is the best for the coin to grow and it will became you millionaire in time. Hope that it helps

ICOs will collapse at some point in time and it will devastate crypto when it does. While I have made some nice profit especially on coins like Iconomi which pumped to near 0.002BTC per token, ICOs are being utilized on even the shittiest coins and there are already scam ICOs being created. Only gamble what you can afford to lose.

There are lot of ICOs going on right now simultaneously. So you have to very careful about choosing the ICO that you are going to invest. Among these ICOs some SCAMs are roaming out there and gaining lot of money by scamming people.

Yes, joining in ICO's are worth it, because it can pay you a tokens to sell when you join to their ICO and work for it, so that's why they are worth it, but sometimes you need to check project first before you join, because sometimes it's a scam.

the risk is enormous if we invest in ICO coins, some people benefit greatly from ICO coins, and there are also some who have lost, and now we must be more careful and cautious to invest in new coins of ICO, and many ICO projects are Scam, maybe for example we follow the bountynya no loss, and even then we are very disappointed, let alone the investors, of course, so they will lose some of their assets.

ICO appears and disappears. Some of they are sucsessful some of they are scam. All depends on your ability to see a really worthful projects. Before perticipating in any ICO I often deeply research the project. My advice is to pay attention whether the projects has a ready-made product as it is some kind of guarentee that it is not a scam as well as  long termed activity before ICO. It is an indicator that team goes stright to thir goal and will not give up.

Even with the investments with the existing cryptocurrency is a gamble if you are not careful enough you may lose your whole capital without a proper entering and research you may be ended up on a bear market after the investments on the peak or got scammed, I disagree with your statement about the tokens having no value, there would be a scam or worthless tokens but there are also legit projects good for a long-term holding.

They are so many ICO live in selling, base on the pre sale and main sale prize are little difference, and every creator of each sale will like to maintain the ICO prize as the minimum amount on Trading exchange, after a period of time, it we raise to a higher value than the ICO prize, which will be profited to investors

in fact each person certainly has their own strategies in order to divide its assets. may indeed be a bitcoin is a promising investment. But still the risk is very large. For this reason many people end up choosing to divide their assets in sections. For example, take part in the ICO project or also buy altcoin. And I think ICO is the right choice to invest.

ICO isn't worth for me because every time I invest new altcoins I do wait for them to bump on crypto exchanges and be listed on coinmarketcap.com because most of the time crypto exchange price values are cheaper than ICO price values.
I had invested on my favorite altcoins like Oyster Pearl PRL and Oyster Shell SHL.

Investing in a promising ICO project will bring you a lot of money, but investing in a scam may make you lose all your money. So whether the ICO is worth it depends on whether you have chosen the right ICO project.

You will earn higher returns of investment if you do know the ICOs that you're investing because not all of them will succeed, hit coin exchanges and listed on coinmarketcap.com.
But in my personal reasons, I do invest only on new altcoins on crypto exchanges and more especially when they are being listed on coinmarketcap.com

ICO is worth if you find out this is a good project development and profitable, especially if the product of that ICO is marketable and being usable in economic growth and social responsibilty, but if you go into the scammer project ICO all your effort of joining
in that campaign become worthless, especially now that mostly some coming out ICO project  now  is scamming.

Yes, you are right! Recently, such a trend that the price at the exit after ICO on the exchange falls and not to risk much and not to freeze your capital for a long time should adhere to this strategy!
I participate in ICO on pre sale with good bonuses up to 55% to be exact not in a minus!

Maximum ICO is just nothing. The ICO industry becoming rubbish day by day. I don't know why people invest in every or maximum ICO Project. I mean seriously?! Everyone needs to research more than 6 months before investing in any ICO! Yes, really it is. Some ICO become successful and then they distribute their coins and they listed on some exchanges and then their Job Finished! It is not an actual purpose for ICO! There is a little ICO who has products, future working plan. Not only in website or roadmap, They really follow their Future plan aka Roadmap.

At this moment, I think XYO has the good future plan. That's why I have worn their signature to support this project. And, then Yumerium, Localcoinswap can be hit ICO and they have also good future purpose. Maximum ICO can fail but there has many good ICO running now. So, Please Research before investing in any project. Please don't Spend your money for nothing. Good Luck Everyone

Every ICO is worth it, you just need to study more about the project and the team.
investing in any ICO can give you more money or lose some.
it is the investors responsibility for that.
