Encrypgen is one of the most interesting ico passing now. Unfortunately, not many people know about this and the development team should focus on promoting this remarkable project. If you will add more bittalk promotion ico will finish before the appointed time.

This project has a REAL business model and  innovative almost WORKING product.
Seriously, 99% of all ICOs don't have both and a lot even not one of them.

Biotech researcher here, just found out about this project and invested after a few hours looking into it. This product is valuable no doubt about it. To someone working in genomics research and analytics this is a very useful tool.

I wish this project had a bounty campaign! But nevertheless I will surely take part in ICO. It's absolutely worth it.

I would of liked it too but now ICO is serious business and many big fish and capitalists coming in, so many projects are not interested in small fish. BIG FINANCE is moving into Crypto now but even as small investors if we find good projects such as this we can invest. It looks very promising.

Folks stay away from this one. After reading the whitepaper, they have made strong assertions which are categorically false. For example, they have suggested that intelligence and personality are directly attributable to genetics with no effect by or consideration of environmental contributions (see the many twin studies on this very topic). Any second year undergrad biology student knows that this is completely false. However, when I brought this up in their slack, I was provided a link with a paper authored by the founders which did not corroborate this assertion.  When I brought this up again in their slack, a fellow named michael messaged me saying that he had ample evidence that intelligence is determined by genetics, removed the messages I had posted and then banned me.  If the authors can't take criticism and cannot provide evidence which clearly corroborates their findings, then it suggests that this is a fly by night operation not worth of investment. Given that there are literally thousands of ICOs available to chose from, there is no reason to pick one in which the authors are clearly uneducated about this topic and who chose to ban skeptics rather than engage them. If the authors cannot get second year undergrad biology straight, what else have they screwed up? Honestly I would have just closed slack and moved on but after being banned, it suggests that censorship of dissenting opinions is occurring and this is something that should be made clear.

Relevant bits from the "whitepaper" "... DNA contains information on a person’s ethnicity and heritage" and "...personal traits such as intelligence and personality". It's absolutely true that genetics play a role in many diseases processes and disorders, but to suggest so boldly that so many characteristics about an individual can be derived from genetic material given our current technology is pushing the boundaries of reality.

Despite all of this ridiculousness. I made it clear that the multichain tech this firm was planning to use was very interesting and did not see any red flags with respect to their tech stack as outlined in the whitepaper or the development team . In addition, one of the cofounders, David was very polite to me in slack and it also seems that Vanessa (cofounder) is an exceptional research scientist. This is why to me it's so bewildering that statements that I've outlined above have made it into the whitepaper...

This individual was told *3 TIMES* to post his ramblings in the #random channel, and was banned for not following the rules.

They don't care if you want to deny that the sun exists, or if the Earth is flat, just don't do it on the #general channel.

I was told very clearly that general was for discussion of the platform. Apparently discussion of the whitepaper and the contents of it are not considered related to the platform. Seconds before being banned, michael stated to me "My personal opinion as someone that has been reading science for the last 20 years, is that there's virtually no argument, whatsoever, that Intelligence is genetic. There's a deluge of evidence." and then linked papers which do not support his position. In the first paper linked to me by michael: "We show that the identified genes are predominantly expressed in brain tissue, and pathway analysis indicates the involvement of genes regulating cell development (MAGMA competitive P = 3.5 × 10−6)." It's a pretty big leap to suggest that SNPs or loci that correspond to expression of genes involved regulating cell development implies that intelligence is genetic. Further, the study referenced analyzed over 78,000 individuals all of whom were of European descent, which reduces this study's explanatory power.  Lastly, the authors of the paper have said 'The current genetic results explain up to 5% of the total variance in intelligence." I completely agree, that as usual, more studies are needed, but to suggest right off the bat that intelligence (and ethnicity and personality) are determined in the manner described in the whitepaper is disingenuous.

The next paper he provided me with does not even address the issue we were discussing. It seems like random papers were strewn about in the hopes of dissuading any further investigation. The paper stated "The combined (and all three individual samples) showed a small positive phenotypic correlation between intelligence and lifespan." Okay? How is this even relevant to the discussion of genetics influencing intelligence. This paper discusses the correlation among intelligence and lifespan NOT intelligence and genetics. I could keep going on like this for the remaining 3 papers cited to backup these claims, but it's mostly the same thing repeated. The point is, if such unfounded statements are being made in the whitepaper, then it suggests to me that other areas may also be lacking. In addition, the banning individuals who want to support these types of endeavours by ensuring accuracy is just silly and frankly pisses me off. If you are going to run a platform dedicated to storing genetic information, you have to expect that individuals who have training in the field will look on with interest. Have you really not had Vanessa, Barry, Nick or another advisor proofread the paper?

I have no basis for speculation however considering the OKEX exchange is worlds 4th-5th largest I would assume that the listing for $DNA could be Bittrex.

The new exchange. But more importantly: My Genechain, the customer portal to upload your dna data, should be going live soon! Hopefully before end of the week, otherwise at least before the Festival of Genomics (Jan 30-31).

Has anyone thought about the morale implications of this?

Besides making money, maybe it's not a good idea to mix something as personal as one's DNA and put it on some startups 'blockchain' ?

Or is everyone just thinking about the 'sell the soul for a lambo' deal?

And as for security, raise your hand if you think that although companies like Microsoft, Google, Apple etc have huge dedicated security teams working night and day to secure customers data, and still mess up security all the time (just google for references), but somehow a random startup with probably zero security folks is going to get it right? Just think about it. Let reality sink in.

Assuming problems with ETH have been resolved, just a reminder that the $DNA token will list on a U.S customer friendly exchange this coming Friday 26th January in preparation for the launch of the portal next week at the London Genomic conference on the 30th/31st Jan.

The exchange could be Kucoin, Kraken, Polo or Bittrex nobody knows for sure.

It appears from the press release that Ancestry will be integrating the Encrypgen token directly onto their ecosystem. This could position Encrypgen as the DNA industry standard exchange token.

Encrypgen can store genomic data lightly thanks to its proprietary deep-learning compression, and it’s only necessary to blockchain the metadata. Distributing it may not be the most secure way to treat the data. Encrypgen is not similar to decentralized storage. At this stage, we have you slated to air on Fox Business Network in the very next available airing schedule, August 2018.  The commercial will be sent to Fox Business Network for national airing approval and the airing dates will be determined based on approval. Once it is approved to air, the dates will be scheduled and I will provide pre-airing notification 24-48 hours in advance of the airing so you can tune in.

The next step, after the national distribution, will be the regional airings which will air 400 times in many of the top 100 DMAs. These airings should take place in August.   We anticipate sending the educational Public TV (PTV) segment to the participating PTV affiliates throughout the US in August as well.

actually, listing in one decent exchange is already enough. so if topia is still there, thats great. theres really no need to bribe anyone. good decision to develop their platform. if they have something to offer to their clients, thats much better than more exchanges but without product to offer. exchanges will follow if your product is successful in serving your customers

They said blockchain technology is still years away from being massively adopted. What more about Genomic Data Markets? Isn't it too early to use blockchains for such use cases?

Really think these are far plans that the team is planning to do.
For now, let's see how they implement technical development on a new roadmap, which is still more close in time.
The market now does not appreciate it, but when capitalization begins to grow, the project must be shown that it is ready.

Actually we are not giving any fancy usecase to the blockchain but we are using it as a store of transactions and the DNA utility token is the way of payment to purchase genomic data profiles on our marketplace. Its never too early and if you do your research about what we are aiming to do you will find out that Encrypgen is the first with a working product, we launched the Gene-Chain earlier and our goal is to increase the number of transactions on our marketplace (atm its arround 78) and bring more data profiles to the Gene-Chain. With what you said, it is definitely interesting. I would probably research how much data/store of transactions you can add to the blockchain and being cost-effective. I would also like to know how you can intelligently extract the data profiles from the chain (Like searching with parameters). I hope to see more developments on this.

PR strategy going forward: Everything we do from now on will be based on metrics, with the measure being: does it increase the user base. We can track that using google analytics, and our google cloud console, and correlate to the appearance of news articles, etc. Blog posts, and crypto-focused articles so far have a negligible impact on user base, with the highest recorded jump in users and websites being about half of a percent jump beyond background. Only articles in mainstream press, which our PR guy Chris Powell is constantly working those connections (e.g. Financial Times, Wired, Reuters) have shown to improve acquiring of users beyond background over 1% - background being our ongoing google ads campaigns) and those contacts take a while to nurture, but we are constantly working them.

I think, that this technology could be used in human activity even earlier. but not every inhabitant of the world has information about this structure. for many it looks rather strange, so, there is a factor, through which the development and deployment of technology is frozen

Considering what has already been done in 10 years from the date of the founding of Bitcoin, this is very cool. It seems to me that progress will grow every year many times more.
The main is a technology and people will join later.

Briefly, on the roadmap this year are:

1. Release of erc20 Integration and new website (planned in March)

2. Cool new survey tool for researchers to add custom surveys with payment in DNA to individuals - this will really extend the flexibility of the platform, and afford new income stream (planned by May)

The new website is live. We have streamlined it. The one we had had terrible load times, likely leading to a higher than normal bounce rate. The new one is 3 times faster in measured load times. The erc20-DNA functionality is working on the wallet, the part that is now being built is the UI in the wallet to hook into that API and make it available. I will alert you when that becomes available, it should not be long. The design of the new site is geared toward conversion of visitors to users, people who will create profiles and upload data. We will measure the metrics with the new site and determine how effective it is and adjust.

If you are talking about current performance of DNA in the market, the trading volume is almost non existent. do you actually have customers buying DNA test kits from your partners? because without customers, your platform will be soon dead. do you have plans to revive your trading market for this year?

There is currently chatter in the Telegram channel (https://t.me/encrypgen (https://t.me/encrypgen)) that CoinMetro will be listing DNA later this month.  The CEO of CoinMetro pretty much confirmed the news in his Q1 2021 update on YouTube.
