Please help me.
Is it just me who does not see any chatbox in poloniex?
Previously I ever chat there, whether there something wrong with me or is there a setting that I need to fix?

Chatbox as known as Trollbox in poloniex has been removed from poloniex for a "long" time now.
I say long because many users are having issues with poloniex and so the moderators there have been transferred to support team to respond tickets "faster"

So in essence, the poloniex chatbox has been closed so poloniex can respond to the complaints that go in their trollbox support ticket quickly?
You get this information from where and from whom? Do you know someone poloniex moderator, can you share it for me?
Because I also have a withdrawal problem there and I do not get any response from poloniex on my trollbox ticket.

You are not the only person having this problem; it is not a problem because poloniex did it deliberately in order to increase the chances of their support department.

They did say the situation should improve withing a few weeks and this info was published on June 7. So I guess we should start seeing some kind of result and faster ticket resolving with a week or so.

To the best of my knowledge, nothing is working on poloniex apart from the trading, deposit and withdrawal functions.

My support ticket have been in the status of being process for the past 3 months and i have sent several update without any response from them.

I think they closed as of now there chatbox just to improve there support because it's nit useless there chatbox just to spam so it's a nice way that they closed it

Are you kidding me? What do you think that big box called NOTICES is for? Is even in the same place as where the trollbox was...

I am concerned and I have only been waiting 2 weeks.

The trollbox had been disabled to assist technical concerns but still are having the same problems, anyways if you have any problems they said just to submit a ticket.

This is bad, what's your problem?
Are you an old member?
Are you already make a level 2 verification?
Are you actively trading?
Because I think the trollbox ticket is totally useless, I also have a trollbox ticket that does not get any response from poloniex and it looks like they ignore it.

2 years ago I have encountered 2FA problem in poloniex and my complaint on support ticket at respond well and I still use poloniex until now and never get any problem again. But after seeing a lot of bad complaints with poloniex, I think now I will slightly reduce my activities in poloniex.

Support have replied to me but account is still frozen. Progress has been made.

But my thought there was no different before the team was closing the trollbox. I mean there is no improvement in the support capacity and the result is same. That looks pathetic a lot of account on polo gets frozen and the team just try to give a reply with a simple answer.

Were the trollbox mods trained to do support tickets? If not then they're being trained now so it's not going to be instant. Even if they hired new staff it'd be the same outcome.

So, nothing is working except everything is working ? You didn't mention lending but I can confirm it's working.

More seriously I can't generate an ETH deposit address and have opened a ticket about this, without answer for a few days. A ticket on their support site, not a "trollbox ticket", whatever that is.

Consequently I just solved my problem myself. I figured that maybe ETH needed to be "activated" on my account. So I bought 0.2 ETH. Instantly I could finally generate the deposit address !

You know ETH deposits are disabled currently, right?

It's clear on the exchange page;

"Due to ongoing network instability, we've disabled Ethereum deposits/withdrawals. We'll enable once we know the network is functioning properly."


But still you can't make deposit right? Trades are possible but direct deposit and withdrawals is not at least on my last try.

It's no longer disabled. I can confirm I just deposited 0.5ETH from my wallet, and 2.5ETH from Kraken, onto the newly generated ETH deposit address on Poloniex, and I have already sold the ETH for BTC.

I miss the Trollbox now, it was a great feature of Poloniex but recently their services value is getting lowered and Bittrex is providing much better services in case of some errors or problems. If poloniex doesnt come back with some strong service, people will definitely move to Bittrex or Kraken.

Although poloniex has an ongoing issues but they still do not will lose its users, it looks like poloniex will remain for a long time because poloniex has loyal users, we can see below on the poloniex website that has been clear seen. Users currently online: 45k :D

Only noobs will leave an exchange just because their so loved troll box isn't there anymore. I seriously don't get the point of these troll boxes as they mainly attract noobs and other garbage.

The only exchange that I am using with a so called troll box is BTC-E, but you can't participate if you don't have any value in your account ~ does Poloniex have such policy in place as well?

If compared, BTC-E is much better than poloniex. BTC-E has many advantages in all features. I'm not very familiar with such a policy but it seems poloniex has a far different policy with BTC-E. I'm more likely to see an active support service and already should poloniex have an active support service like BTC-E.

I do not understand what your words mean and it sounds like you are talking out of topic.
Without applying 2FA also I can still access poloniex. What's wrong, what have you experienced in poloniex?

Obviously trollbox got disabled indefinitely by poloniex. I think that their reasoning of not enough support staff is BS. Because they could have easily hired more when they are making countless hunderds of coins per week, or at least just kept the trollbox with a few less moderators. There is way too many moderators in the first place. It is most likely that they are trying to cover up their withdrawal/deposit delay issues.


Well I actulaly really like this, I think that the idea is great. There are some slack channels available for poloniex traders still, though. But the fact that you have the coin prices in real time alongside the clean interface is great. I think though that the fact that you have a .fr domain name sort of discourages anyone outside of france from using it... Maybe change it to a more generic domain name, not country specific.

Whether with that my complaint issues that I'm experiencing can be delivered to poloniex?

Ofcourse not. He just made another chatbox for discussion but not the official from poloniex so it means that devs will not read your complaint. Try send an email to their support. I'm sure that they will answer you there in 1-3 business day timeframe.

Trollbox is very lacking, when I do trade in polo I really like reading the jokes told in the trollbox

Now without trollbox it gets very lonely.

Relocating moderators to handle queries of customers and assist Customer Support is a lazy excuse for closing trollbox.
Shutting down communication channels has never been a good sign. It means that Poloniex doesn't want people to communicate freely.
After latest flash Eth crash I would be extremely wary about Poloniex. Personally, I withdrawn my fiat/crypto from every exchange.

Honestly I don't understand the point of a trollbox. Are you chatting there all the time ? Isn't that extremely time consuming and boring as hell ?

Most of the people using the trollbox were trying to pump coins or build up hype for their positions. It was a pumper/dumper paradise.

Who other than newbies will take a single word from the trollbox seriously? Originally, these chat boxes were there for traders to discuss strategies, sentiment, etc. It got rebranded to trollbox because these sites have been infested with newbies just burning down every quality discussion with pure gibberish. Nowadays they have no value, and thus should be removed permanently. Or these chat boxes should only be accessible to people with an account balance of +$10k.

Trollboxes have turned into crap years ago, so you wouldn't get any valuable input from any of the people there. If they have positions in Litecoin, they'll advice you to go there, if they have positions into Ethereum, they'll advice you to go there, etc. Others even intentionally will advice you to do the wrong thing, just to make you swallow losses. And btw, 6 months ago you was a newbie? How come your account dates from the year 2014?

I wouldn't mind a Leetbox. To view or post you'd have to have generated a certain amount of historical trade.

RichardsNY is right, who is taking this chat seriously? I was newbie once and I really followed some advice's from Yobit chat, later I saw how big mistake I made and since then I don't even take a look on chat. I didn't notice that poloniex shut down their troll box, that is Mora appropriate name, they just wrote and wrote, its very hard to follow what is going on, and maybe its better that is gone.
I agree that this chats should be accessible for posting just to some people, and I wouldn't forbid reading, at least watching and reading would be more interesting for people like me. I like to read what people have to say about some coins.

You'd still run the risk of only seeing pumpers and dumpers' messages. They do trade a lot, and they earn by screwing you.

Exactly, many people are not using troll box as wisely. Even I have experienced many pumps and dumps but at last, i lost more than 2 BTC with these pumps and dumps. Most of the cases troll box are not useful because only an experienced can know the disadvantages of troll box.

There were lots of noobs there though. The number of people online on Poloniex went from about 20,000 in Feb to 40,000 in May, most of those noobs. And they alll got encouraged to pile into alts that had already been pumped, thanks to that evil trollbox.

I can only hope the poor things haven't lost too much money.

Well, if people due to the lack of understanding have to ask trolls and other noobs for advice, I am quite sure that most of these people end up burning through their hard earned cash pretty quickly. At the end, it's their own fault and thus I don't feel sorry for them. If they end up learning from their mistakes, it has at least been a good lesson for them, but there are enough people making the same mistake time on time again. ::)
