Title: [ANN] BitcoinFast revival -

   BitCoinFast

        date of rebirth 06/22/2017

BitCoinFast is a Decentralized CryptoCurrency that will be used by those
that use BitCoin but prefer a faster version. It can take up to an hour
sometimes just to complete a BitCoin transaction. BitCoinFast with its 60
second block times can complete a transaction in a blink of the eye. Nobody
wants to leave any substantial amount of BitCoin on any given exchange as we
have all seen both the biggest and smallest exchanges fold up and everyone
loses. Yet there are times when opportunities arise and you need to get a
certain amount of BitCoin onto an exchange in order to not miss out on a
great price or arbitrage, however after an hour waiting for your BitCoin
deposit to confirm those good deals are long gone in most cases. The answer
to a situation like that is BitCoinFast. Through widespread adoption and
eventually multiple exchanges that will host BitCoinFast that problem will
be eliminated. Help us make BitCoinFast the coin with a purpose. We welcome
the growing BitCoinFast Community and look forward to mass adoption.

the preview looked good, but when I posted - the image is smaller than real size.
Wallet hasn't been updated yet but works well.
One of the things I need to fix is the unlock to stake option is missing (?!)
github is https://github.com/Crypto-Currency/bitcoinfast

for now use the windows wallet on the old thread

As far as take over - I guess that's what you would call it.

The original  Announcement thread is locked.
The last post was August 30, 2015
The person who started the OP hasn't logged in since August 30, 2015
Last post on cct was July 21, 2016

I was asked to add the option to unlock for stake, looks like I'll just "take over"

It would be nice to here from some of the development team, or others of the community, to find out more about BitcoinFast.

Title: Re: [ANN] BitcoinFast revival -
Post by: Spidersbox on June 24, 2017, 11:15:22 PM
here is a link to an updated windows-qt wallet I just finished compiling.

BitcoinFast-qt  V2.1.1.1 zip file https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1cnD3W8c0jtcVp3UE81eW4xaDA

It has the option to unlock for staking.
Also - if you click the logo, it will open a new browser to the BitcoinFast web site.

This is not an official release.
Just a way for people who locked their wallet to stake.
I still have more to work on like setting up a new checkpoint server to get rid of the block too old message

updated windows-qt wallet bitcoinfast-v2.0.1.3.zip https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1cnD3W8c0jtU3RxVzF4VkIzODg
added staking icon.
It's not very accurate at guessing when you will stake - but at least it does indicate if you are staking or not :)

Okay wallet is updated,

but why does it say at the bottom:

WARNING: Checkpoint is too old. Wait for blockchain to download, or notify developers

WARNING: Checkpoint is too old. Wait for blockchain to download, or notify developers
Because nobody is running a checkpoint server yet. That will require everyone to update there wallet once I get it done.
Noting to worry about - it's just a warning

If you smell a rat thats your own stupidity stinking things up.

Thank you for your pm.A little insulting but noted.

You still did not address my questions. You say you are an "advisor" to these coins.Who selected you as an advisor and for what reason? In what capacity do you fulfil this role and how were your "advisor" skills sourced?

Whats the update on BCF? I have been accumulating the BCF, hoping others are as committed in HODLing to bring up the price. Can we create a telegram or slack group to effectively coordinate and market this coin?

Title: Re: [ANN] BitcoinFast revival -

A slack group sound like a good plan.
Give me a little time and I can start one.

Should it be open for every one or just a select group?

That is on the list of things to do.
I put up the temporary web site so we would at least have one, and have spent most of my time with the wallet and the block explorer.

note: there are links to download the wallet on the website http://bitcoinfast.co

I am not holding this coin though I agree with you, there’s nothing new about this coin.
Are you guys actually listed in Cryptopia or did you guys just post that picture in the Orginal Post so you could attract investors? There’s something really shady about this coin, it also looks like the dev doesn’t post that often as well. I suggest that you guys have the proper materials and post everything at once instead of feeding people posts little by little.

no airdrops - but maybe we could come up with a faucet?
I don't suppose anybody would like to contribute/donate to a fund for faucets, bounties, give-a-ways ,etc ??
I could come up with a donation address, list the balance on the web site.

Nobody is running a checkpoint server - that warning can be safely ignored.
I will disable that warning on the next wallet update.

If you would like to take over and pay for the hosting, and pay for someone to 'update' the web site, please do. I can't keep paying for everything.

BitcoinFast donation address is:

Bitcoin donation address is:

Also need people to join the team to take over things like social media, marketing, etc.,
I mostly work on wallets.

Hi,
I have wallet v2.0.1.5-g-beta
and it is synced but says "WARNING checkpoint is too old. Wait for blockchain to download, or notify developers"
I am on block 506252
Any ideas spider?
Thanks
J
Nobody is running a checkpoint server - that warning can be safely ignored.
I will disable that warning on the next wallet update.

Spidersbox,
Can we still use this wallet while you're working on the new one or does the current wallet not work?

sometimes a large profit switching poll will mine BCF and drive the difficulty way up - then switch to something else, making it very difficult for the smaller miners to find a block.
Once the smaller miners find a block or two - the difficulty comes back down again.

all you have to have is a running wallet with Bitcoinfast coins in it.
It you encrypt your wallet (lock it), you will need to unlock it for staking.
that's it.

at the moment, the PoS difficulty is extremely high due to some user wallets with supper old coins that haven't staked for a year or two because the wallet didin't have the function to unlock to stake.
you can see it on the explorer at http://bcf.altcoinwarz.com

The unlock to stake function was just added/fixed recently - so there is a large backlog of staking going on.

The staking difficulty is affected by age, and amount - so we have to wait until the old farts get done staking before we get our chance.
(or there is something wrong with the difficulty adjustments - i will be looking into that soon)

there have been some good questions about BitcoinFast on slack, so I thought I would share them and my reply.
I'm thinking I should add a Q&A section to the website.

Quote
When does it usually stakes? And does it take one time or many times anually?
We hold the bcf in the Cryptopia exchange wallet. Do we also get the stake?
-----
Quote
Most exchanges turn off the staking because when the block (or blocks) stake, it marks those blocks as unspendable while they are getting the required confirmations.
That ties them up so people can't withdraw them.

Under normal conditions, once a bcf coin is old enough (24 hours) it is eligible  to stake.
It gets a stake 'weight' which increases by how many days old it is, and how many bcf you have staking.
Currently there is a backlog of coins staking.
The wallet did not have an option to unlock the wallet for staking only - so people who encrypted/locked their wallet - were not able to stake.
This inability to stake a locked wallet went on for several years.
It was one of the first tings I added when I took over BitcoinFast.
Now there are literally millions of bcf with a stake age of years - this makes their 'weight' extremely high, and they have the most chance of staking - leaving the newer coins at the bottom of the list.
Luckily, when the old coin (block of coins) stakes, it get's split into two new blocks.
This puts the new blocks at the bottom of the list, and the cycle continues.
It will smooth out eventually, but the backlog will take some time.

As for how many times - the rate is 25% annually - but a block of coins can stake once a day - so you have to take the 25% of the total stake and divide it by 256 days.
That way at the end of the year, it adds up to 25%

hopefully that answers some of the staking questions.
Please feel free to add more questions or corrections

Hi, why do i only have 1 active connection with my wallet?
that can be a tough question :)
When you first start the wallet, it looks at a dnsseed address(es) that is hard coded in the wallet. that is where it gets more wallets to connect to.
the very first time you open your wallet - like after installing it - or if you removed the blockchain database, the wallet spends most of it's time downloading the missing blocks from the very first connection. is does add more as time goes by - you should have more connections within a few minutes.

I'm guessing that is not your issue.

In some instances, and I don't know why (maybe a firewall, or isp issue? ya, if you can connect to 1 - then why not the others...)
you may need to add some connections manually in a configuration file.

If you are running a linux flavor - you probably already know the file.
In windows, the conf file is not required for the wallet to run.
Here is an example to add to windows, if you haven't all ready. The file name is: BitcoinFast.conf
and it goes in this location: C:\Users\*yourname*\AppData\Roaming\BitcoinFast\
Code:
rpcuser=anything
rpcpassword=youwant
addnode=65.102.140.117
addnode=51.15.53.179
addnode=188.165.203.89
addnode=184.164.129.202
addnode=73.230.123.131
addnode=192.95.29.214
then start your wallet again.

you don't have to remember the rpc user or password.
You can get a current list of nodes to add at http://Bitcoinfast.co under the status tab

sometimes it is as easy as shutting down the wallet, say "work darn you" - and start the wallet again  :)

(you added another question when I wasn't looking  :) )

BitcoinFast is still on wobbly legs from not having a dev for a while, not a lot of the old users have come back yet, and we are slowly gaining new people to our community.
For the most part, the blockchain moves when a miner finishes work a block (solves a block/answers the question/accepts the block - however you wish to look at it)

The more miners there are working, the higher the hash rate. The higher the hash rate, the harder it is to solve the block.
This helps keep the blockchain moving at a somewhat steady 60 seconds a block.
Except when the hashrate jumps around.
The hashrate will jump when profit switching pools, or large mining rigs jump on. The difficulty will rise - this makes the coin harder to work, and less profitable, so then the pool or large miner switches to a different coin.
But that leaves the difficulty high for the smaller pools to deal with - and it takes a lot longer for them to solve a block. once they do - the wallets notice the smaller amount of hash power it took, and adjusts the difficulty back down, trying to keep the 60 second block time.

Then the profit switching pools find out the difficulty went back down - and jump on it again. <sigh>

As more people join BCF, more pools will include it for mining, and the hash power will get spread around to help smooth the bumps.
Also, when the proof of stake catches up, that will help keep the chain moving - without relying on miners - then they can jack themselves up all they want :)

in looking through the code, Ive decided to add Kimoto Gravity Well for difficulty adjustments.
It should work much better (just about anything will work better than it is now)

I still have to test if for several days to make sure the switch works correctly, and the affects are positive.

When every thing checks out ok, I will update the github repo and post a new windows-qt wallet.
I will need everybody's help in spreading the word of the mandatory update, including pools you may be using.

Time frame wise, I'm shooting for the middle of next month, I want to have plenty of time to get the word out.

It takes time (a few hours) to download all blocks at the first time to run the wallet, and then it needs just a few minutes to sync the network. It runs smoothly.

so far so good. in the test environment:

I used the real blockchain to test with.

I setup 3 computers and ran the wallets so they would download and sync the real chain, once they were in sync, I disconnected them form the internet - setup a pool and gpu mining rig and went to town.
it took a long time to hit a block, but the switch happened just as planned.
the difficulty dropped, and soon my 4 card gpu rig started hitting blocks.  I mined for about 20,000 blocks, then turned the miners off  transfered 1,000 bcf to one of the pc's and waited.
It took a little while, but pos kicked in and the chain started moving again - just on pos.

Currently, my server is under a ddos attack, but once it gives up, I will reset the switch time in the bcf wallet code, update the github repo, and release a windows wallet so we can get this fork going.

How Do you Stake Coins BCF ?
Download a Windows, Linux Wallet from our website.
Fully sync your Wallet to the BCF Network by running your wallet and downloading the blockchain.
Buy some BCF from the Exchanges.
Withdraw BCF from the Exchanges to your Wallet.
Leave the coins in the wallet for 24Hours. After 24 Hours the coins become eligible for Staking.
The wallet must be Unencrypted for it to allow Staking.

What is meant by ther Terms Weight in PoS ?
The Weight of the Network is a figure given to the All the coins that are actively Staking on the entire BCF Network. The Coins in your Wallet that are availble for Staking also has a Weight.

Does my Wallet have to be open 24/7 to Receive my Stakes ? It is true that to mine any coins your wallet must be open.

block chain is humming along now.

I am a former Bitcoin Plus team member and here are my thoughts...I will confirm that the BCF wallet does stake but unlike other staking wallets this one takes a while. My conclusion is that either it is supposed to be like this or there is an error in the staking code. It does stake when it wants to and does pay 25% so you do get your coins but not immediately like other staking wallets. I have had times where it stakes a few times a day and then nothing for a week then stakes again. So in summary yes it does stake 25% annually which is a huge deal.

This is personally one of my favorites and there are things happening behind the scenes that will take this coin much higher down the road. I will confirm that some of the things that were done for Bitcoin Plus that took it to the level it is at now will be done for Bitcoin Fast as well sometime soon.

Very interesting, so with current market cap this low and it can go to several milions in mcap. 25% annual stake reward. Promising. stake stake

Is there some relevant news about the growth? Do you think it will keep growing, or was it just a spike which will be followed by a deep?

Well, its just the start i think. Further updates underway, promotion, new website, roadmap etc... 10 faste than BTC, 25% staking reward. Solid team.

To fully clarify the correct coin total:

Right now there are approximately 7.3 million BCF that stake 25% per year and the staking rewards will run out in approximately 100 years or so. The coin total at that time will be 2.5 billion units. In 10 years there will be around 20 million BCF in existence. This is where the rewards come from. So the correct total right now is 7.3 million growing at 25% per year except not everybody stakes and not all coins get staked so it will be less than that.

Thanks for the clarification. I really like this concept of POS. When was BitcoinFast born "the first time"? Is it also one of those real old coins? I always think that those got a great advantage against all the new ones that are entering the market. Only if they got a solid, useful concept of course, but BitcoinFast seems to have this from all angles.

you should stop mining on them until they update their wallet.
Any coins found on the wrong blockchain will be orphans - and not excepted on the exchanges.

I've tried contacting them about the mandatory wallet update - but never heard back from them

Maybe someone can tell them?

It should probably be called a takeover.
BitcoinFast went without a dev for quite a while - but it was still trading on cryptopia.
I was asked to fix the wallet because there was no option to unlock for stake.

Coinmarketcap top placement banner ads are starting tomorrow and will run for a month. Simply states 25% staking and 10x faster than Bitcoin and the banner looks great. This is just the start for Bitcoin Fast.

This is great, I'm glad to here such wonderful news. Bitcoin fast to the moon, I actually thinking buying a little of all bitcoins snapshots coins.

Wallet still syncing today, will the wallet accept staking Or what to do? Deadline looming...
deadline past and gone. difficulty adjustments for mining is working wonderfully!
block chain is humming along now.
if you still have a ways to go with the syncing - check on the website
http://bitcoinfast.co
(you may have to hit refresh)
there is a link for a bootstrap.

Works Perfectly, Downloaded Boostrap.dat file, placed it in the bitcoin Fast file and automatically in about five hours, BLAM! Everything works, nice and stable.
Go Bitcoin FAST!

any donations i collect will go towards getting the coin on other exchanges, the are donation wallets on the right hand side of the about page, if i reach any total i'll inform who ever the dev is, and make the payment.

any logo or background post it on here and i'll screen shot the logo and background i'll put it in. and anyone who wants to write about the currency send articles via bitcointalk and i'll just copy it post it in.

I'm going to have some fun with this!

okay so i've set up a challenged, any youtubers who like bitcoinfast!

to submit youtube videos with jokes! and the top 10 will get one bitcoin fast each!

if anyone wants to donate to the challenge, we could increase the prize.

donations
Bitcoin address
1G2eHjGhZYbcsANRFqbRnwghEzSqNQxZiR

BitcoinFast address
BRNidcrsrq9suv9ZAHiJAuQZxnjfL3ZU7k

Dash address
Xaik8i41jo59L1qzf1ePfA25WU9Bj1NE9e

any money collected will go towards the fund and the best 10 will be posted on the wall! which people will vote for, if someone could set up a vote contest for all applicants and all applicants must post on the bitcointalk forum, and the best 10 will get a pay out divided between everyone, currently from my own funds the prize is 10 coins. 10 bitcoinfast coins.

good luck!

all jokes must be one joke each, best 10 with the highest vote count will win.

the best 10 will be posted on the bitcoinfast facebook page!

https://www.facebook.com/BitcoinFast-2064336640519770/ (https://www.facebook.com/BitcoinFast-2064336640519770/)

each joke must start with, this is my entry for the bitcoin fast one joke challenge.

nice!
don't forget the BitcoinFast Discord https://discord.gg/nqEv9RT
open to everybody

is the anyone who can make a media video promoting it, just get on Camera and announce the BitcoinFast one joke challenge?

just clearly give the rules,

1. announce your entry to the bitcoinfast challenge,

2. put in the headline bitcoinfast challenge.

3. tell them to put in your youtube entry name in the description, the video can be longer you can make many jokes just break them up and name the joke for a valid entry, if doing more than one joke name the joke for a valid entry.

4. explain what bitcoinfast is a cryptocurrency features etc,

5.how much they can win 1 bitcoinfast but any extra donations will be split some into the prize pool some into saving up for paying to get on a new exchange.

6. the best entertaining jokes will be voted for the are only 10 winners and each winner will be posted up on the facebook wall, you can make as many entries as you like.

good luck in the competition.
remember the hash some bitcoinfast!

use this following script provide the video we'll post it up!

the should be cut off date, please just come up with one. whoever wants to make a youtube video announcing it.
i won't be going into discourse but i'll just be doing everything here, no point in hiding around.

someone use their intuitive and make a video about it.

if it's successful we'll do it more often and if you think i should make a twitter i'll do it.

yes it would but then you'd need donations to set one up,
and get a capture box, like a lead capture box.

with the bitcoin fast challenge written on it.

and i'll set a capture box up and entry to a competition but obviously
i think we should make bitcointalk active first, to be honest and let it be done here.
then grow it from then on. getting a active forum will only help with price growth.

donate if you think setting up a webpage might be better.

Was this coin an airdrop to BTC holders initially? Wouldn't mind claiming it if so. First time I've heard of it.

ARE YOU DEV?

Thank you for your enquiry.

Firstly we would like to thank you for considering listing your coin on CoinExchange.io.

Here are the requirements for new coin listings:

For Bitcoin derived coins:

•   Github source code URL
•   Block explorer URL (required)
•   Name of coin
•   Ticker code of coin
•   Website of coin if possible
•   Square logo of at least 100 x 100 px (preferably transparent so it works with our dark theme also)

For Ethereum ERC20 tokens:

•   Contract address
•   Token name
•   Token ticker code
•   Decimal positions
•   Square logo of at least 100 x 100 px (preferably transparent so it works with our dark theme also)
•   Link to contract on etherscan.io

There is a 2 BTC fee for new coin additions to the BTC base market.

There is an additional 0.5 BTC for each optional additional base market listing, for example COIN/ETH market.

If there are future coin swaps which we will need to undertake there will be a 1 BTC fee per swap. Failure to inform us of a swap will result in instant de-listing.

Due to a current overwhelmingly high demand for listing new coins and a large backlog the process may take up to 30 days from receipt of listing payment.

Also please provide us with as much information as possible about your coin e.g., website, bitcointalk announcement, whitepaper, social media (twitter, facebook etc) etc.
We reserve the right to select which coins we list what we chose to list on CoinExchange.io.

Please be aware of our current removal policy - https://coinexchangeio.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/9000132415-coin-removal-policy (we reserve the right to alter this at anytime).

If you are interested and would like to proceed please let us know and we will send you a payment address.

Alternatively, let us know if you have any questions prior to making a decision.

Sincerely,

CoinExchange.io Support Team

the wallet does have a bitcoin miner in it - that is what runs the pos (staking) and long ago it was used hen you could cpu mine this coin
older wallets also have irc routines  - that's how they use to find someone to connect to when you first start the wallet.

you can use something like http://virustotal.com to check programs for virus/trojans

one of my posts from last August:
just out of curiosity - I downloaded a fresh bitcoin wallet from bitcoin.org and sent it to virus total:
https://www.virustotal.com/#/file/8a2a5657a8b3243ab4f549bb4b16c8c34b47acfb5c6bc07eb0b875ee71a3ad5b/detection
7 out of 60 hits.

litecoin wallet from litecoin.org:
https://www.virustotal.com/#/file/4c0dc0bbaee722b038a82120cc229377eb83b06b480947cf7508adc433d5a49e/detection

fyi - there will be a new mandatory wallet update coming out soon.
it will fix the pos (staking).
Seems the original dev didn't separate out the pow from the pos difficulties.
so when a pos block was found, it's difficulty was compared to the last block and adjusted - so if the last block was a pow - the difficulty would be adjusted up to closer match.

this means the pos difficulty, which is usually less than 1 - has been jacked up, and following the pow difficulty.
- not right!

This explains why the staking of BitcoinFast has always been screwy.

Besides correcting the pos portion of the wallet, I'll be lowering the txfees also.

The plan is to have the new wallet out in a few days (or several days) giving enough time for cryptopia and the pools to be on the new wallet by the fork date of the new year (GMT)
Being that there are still some wallets out there that haven't updated since the last fork (that fixed the issue with pow), I will include a way to block the older wallets.
after this upcoming fork, the older wallets won't be able to connect to the network.
 - hopefully the owners of said wallets will start looking around for answers to them not being able to connect.

we will be here to help them  :)

also, around the new year - we should have a new web site design!

Next year is looking good for Bitcoin Fast!

With a newly designed website, pow and pos repaired and working properly - I think it will be time to add some new exchanges and rock this puppy   8)

Hi, i'm staking since months with 7000 BCF and didn't get a single stack ?

Also, while you're working on a new site i would suggest to create a nice new logo for BCF, the one actually looks very cheap!

I agree about the logo.

yes. the staking part is still not working right.
There will be a fork and new wallet hopefully around the first of the year to address the PoS difficulty.

the 10 BCF is from mining.
That part did get fixed on the last fork - it use to be 10 BCF every couple of hours, and the blockchain not moving - transferring BCF use to take hours -
now it is fast like it is suppose to be -
next thing to do is fix the staking - and that will be done very soon.

I have a question, and I’m a total newbie so bear  with me.  What is it that BCF offers that other coins don’t. I see it is much faster than btc, but so if bitcoin cash. So what is it about this coin that sets it apart from the other hundreds of coins out there?  I invested bc a good friend of mine said it’s a good bet, but I’ve yet to find what sets it apart. Thanks in advance

bitcoin fast has a block time of 1 minute - so ten times faster than bitcoin
It also provides staking - 25% annual

Please note that there will be a new wallet coming out in January to fix the staking part, it's not work the it should right now.

Right, i found that info in the beginning; but aren’t there other altcoins with that same speed? What differentiates this coin from, say, bitcoin cash? (Leaving out the investment opportunity of a new coin)

maybe there are some now, but when BCF started - Dec, 2 2014 I believe it was the only one.
as for comparing it against other crypto's, I have no interest in doing so.

The new web site should be online in a day or two.
Web dev is doing some final touches
and version 2.1.0.1 is the latest for now -
There will a new wallet out after the first of  the year to address staking issues.
It will be a mandatory update so check in from time to time.

New site looks amazing imho, just need to rebrand the logo in the same style!
And maybe as said already more contrast in the yellow on white in the FAQ section, needs a font orange darker for more easy to read!

Can't waiit for the new wallet with the stacking fix!

Great work, thanks for that.

yes. we are putting out a 'pre-release' in the next day or two with updated logo, added wallet check/repair, zap wallet, coin control.
it will be an optional update, for people who would like to check out the new wallet.

Around Jan 22nd - there will be a mandatory wallet update.
Kimoto Gravity Well will be added to help with the mining difficulty adjustments.

You can join our Discord at https://discord.gg/nqEv9RT to keep up with additional news.

Sorry about the delay with the new wallet - but IT IS READY!
There were several things wrong - I would find one problem and correct it - then test it for a week, and other issues would show up.
I do now know why the wallet has never staked properly since the day is was made.
It does now.   ;D

Web site has been updated - you can download the new wallet at any time now.
It comes as a windows installer now   :)
github repo has been updated - please tell all the pools about the:

MANDATORY update.

The fork will happen at Monday Feb. 26 00:00:00 UTC
so there is plenty of time to spread the word.

The new code in the wallet is working well.
the PoS difficulty has dropped from 139 to 30 so far (30 hours after the fork).
As more wallets stake, the difficulty will continue to drop, as it should.
The rate of decrease will slow as we move on.
It's nice to see so many POS blocks in the explorer  :)

the wallet will connect as soon as it is launched, it can take a half a minute sometimes.
If you can't get any connections, your firewall could be blocking it.

there isn't a minimum, other than too few won't produce a reward large enough to count (only 8 decimal places)
the more the merrier  :)

25% annual / 365 days
coin maturity is 1 day, so to get the 25%, you will have to stake once, every day.
(most simplest explanation - and not very technically accurate)

hell I would love to mine, stake and be apart of BitcoinFast, but when I download your wallet, install it, it does nothing, I even forcefully added the exception to firewall to allow it through, but the wallet is not trying to connect because I get no prompt to allow/block, I actually had to add it to the firewall allowed list....

I have removed/reinstalled 4 times, nothing changes, I have a dozen wallets all working, I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

there should be a maximum balance of possible staking coins in a wallet.
for example 10.000 coins

that mechanism protects to get the rich wallet richer.

only 10.000 coins can stake in each wallet. not more

there is currently a rich concentration of ~ 79% to the top 25 wallets

bottlecaps did something similar. it put a cap on staked rewards of 1000 - it didn't matter how many you staked, max you could get was 1000.
both are something to think about.

Not sure I like either concept. I think if someone is going to have gone through whatever combination of investment or mining work to accumulate a large holding, they shouldn’t be penalized for it. If the idea behind staking is to incentivize holding of the coins longer-term, limiting the staking seems to also then limit that goal.

I agree that strong concentration of ownership is probably bad short term, but if an ecosystem can develop and people have multiple use cases, and other options that involve spending/transferring coins around, then eventually you’d see that concentration move downwards some. I suppose, too, though, that every coin will have it’s few whales.

Mandatory wallet update soon

we seem to be experiencing  a "Time Warp" attack - it is an exploit on the KMW
that is the reason for the rush on the next wallet update.

Still waiting to hear from Cryptopia to find out how little time they need to rush this through, so I can set a time for the fork.

I would suggest not bothering to mine BCF right now - as the person doing the attack will be stealing all of the blocks, and you would just be wasting your hash.
Cryptopia has put the BCF wallet into maintenance, awaiting the update.

I will be removing the kimoto gravity wall from the wallet in the next update - about two weeks from now (depending on Cryptopia's time frame)

we seem to be experiencing  a "Time Warp" attack - it is an exploit on the KMW
that is the reason for the rush on the next wallet update.

Spiders,

We have disabled the coin from our pool for now until you have the update.  Could you please PM us when the wallet is released, and we will have the pool up for day one new version release.

Thanks,

we have a channel for pools on our discord - we list the pools and am now gathering email contacts.
Please submit your email address there (I think everbody has read/write access)
Or if you prefer - you can send me a PM here or at discord - Please put "POOL" as the first line, or as the subject - so I can find it faster  :)

There is also a a place at the bottom of our website to sign up for a news letter.
I will use those to announce the upcoming fork date.

I've tried contacting them in the past - and they never respond.
they only fix things after it brakes.
Personally I wish they would drop BCF.

sorry, I've been posting a lot lately, I thought I added it here:
Kimoto Gravity Wall (KGW) is a way of calculating the difficulty adjustments for the next block to be 'discovered' in the blockchain

I have been reading the thread and see something about a BCF fork on March 11... Will cryptopia be supporting this fork? I can not deposit/ withdraw my coins to a desktop wallet. I am interested in knowing more. Is there more information regarding the fork?

New Mac wallet installed. Thanks.

As an aside... I mined a bit at iSpace before moving over to LuckyAltCoin for this (and then stopped when you mentioned the attack.) I had 17 coins that iSpace says has been sent, but I'm not seeing it in my wallet after 36 hours. Thoughts?

this is not the "new" kind of fork - there will be no new coins
this is a fork in the way the blockchain will work - a change in the wallet code.

it is possible they are on a fork of their own - they might even be one the old-old wallet - I don't know. I send them email, and never get any answer
It might be the transfer never made it onto the chain because the attack is making 20+ blocks a minute - and wallets (and block explorers) can't keep up

We're currently seeing literally dozens of blocks per minute mined, it's already difficult for synched wallets to stay synched. When you are synching up it is even harder to follow that crazy pace.

I'm not finding that txID on the explorer. It makes me think the sending wallet wasn't on the correct chain.
If that is correct, you will need to remove the blockchain files from your computer

shut down the old wallet.

in the folder at
C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Roaming\BitcoinFast

remove:
Database folder
blk0001.dat
blkindex.dat
peers.dat

download the new v3.1 and install it
start the wallet and run the zapwallettxes from the wallet menu -
this will remove every transaction from your wallet, and rescan the block chain.
You will also be resyncing your wallet - which will take some time - maybe an hour or two.

Hopefully, the coins your sent on the wrong chain will be back in your wallet again.

I have no trouble opening http://bitcoinfast.co
but you can try this one: http://bitcoinfast.co/downloads/bitcoinfast-v3.1.0.0-win32-setup.exe
if that doesn't work then this one: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1nbeR7rGyScsvjkMvI4RbXyKq5fcnco3C

remember to remove everything but the wallet.dat file on both computers
the wallet.dat file is where the addresses are kept.
(a thumb drive would be a good place to keep a backup)

then maybe your internet service provider is blocking the IP for some reason? (just a thought)

Hmm. We’re having trouble finding that site.

We can’t connect to the server at www.bitcoinfast.co.
If that address is correct, here are three other things you can try:

    Try again later.
    Check your network connection.
If you are connected but behind a firewall, check that Firefox has permission to access the Web.

firefox,

my security settings are set really low, I have a bunch of PCs and this is my screwing around one, fast and dirty, probably full of shit but there is nothing to steal here...

coins I sent to another wallet are gone

I had 512 bcf, sent 450 bcf, now I only have 22bcf....grrrrrrrrrrrrr ffs

the transaction I sent 450 still shows as unconfirmed, I'm guessing there is no way to cancel and recover?

I'm also guessing there is no way to find where the other coins are lolz
first try wallet - repair wallet
if that doesn't work wallet - zap wallet

the first is fast -
the zap wallet removes every transaction from your wallet.dat file - and rescans the blockchain from the very first block - it will take a long time (1-2 hours??)

Are you sure? When the new wallet was released last month, i sent a test transaction but still not showing on deposits history or account.
If they were on the same wallet/chain, it would have shown up on history. sent on 07/03/2018.
Mining dutch announced last month after the fork that they updated their wallets to the new one.
Knowing cryptopia & their response times, im not too sure about them updating their wallets.
BTW, latest wallet is still 3.1.0.0 right?

Here is minindutch dev's message on BCF telegram channel from 11/03

Cryptofarmer - 03/11/2018
Mining-dutch.nl BCF pool online again

So they have updated their wallets last month.

I invested in this coin last year.  Like all cryptos there have been a few hiccups.  Thanks to Spidersbox and his team as every little issue has been addressed immediately and corrected in short order.  What I'm left with is a super fast reliable coin with 25% annual staking, and an active devoted dev team to boot.  BCF is one of the truly solid established coins available for investors today and reliable blockchain adoption in the future.  Cheers to bcf and Spidersbox dev team.  Really glad to HODL my little piece of this asset. :)

they are/were having deposit issues that they are working on.
I have no idea how long it will take for them to complete the task

The problem with this coin is that the inflation rate is ridiculous.  There have been 14,600,411 coins produced as of now, but the miners are blasting out approximately 15,000 new coins per day.  There is a long way and a lot of massive inflation between now and the max supply of 2,500,000,000 coins.  If there is still a dev anywhere, you should cut the max supply to 21,000,000 and stop it for good when it gets there.  There should be no more mining and no more staking once the supply reaches 21,000,000.  When the supply gets there, people should have to purchase them on the exchange if they want any.  The current price of 250 satoshis is disgustingly overvalued for a coin with billions of supply.  You need to stop it at 21,000,000 so it can be a relatively rare coin before it gets out of control.

15,000 coins a day does seem like a lot, but 2.5Bil/15,000=166,667ish days, or 456 years. Though I too would prefer to see a block halving, we technically won't see 550 million coins in circulation for another 100 years  ;D

This is not true.  The annual staking rate is 25% interest, and this will compound.  There are about 15,000 coins per day being produced now, but that number is going to go up as the compound staking interest keeps going.   Because there is both mining and staking, the circulating supply is inflating by about 37.6% per year.  At this rate it would only take about 19 years to reach the max supply of 2,500,000,000, not 456 years.  If there is any dev here, feel free to clarify the math here.  But it doesn't change the fact that the BCF inflation rate is ridiculous and out of control.  Back in May, just 2 months ago, the price was at a robust 697 satoshis.  Now the price is at only 120 satoshis.  BCF hodlers have lost a disgusting 82.8% of their satoshi value in just 2 months.  That's what inflation does to you.  Get out of BCF now before the inflation catches up to you and don't look back, something might be gaining on you.

FreiExchange is a modest but trustworthy exchange. We are proud to list BitcoinFast.

Why do we have low volume? We didn’t ask for a listing fee, we don’t prop-up markets in any significant way, nor do we create fake volume. We count on the community to support their coin.

At this point in the ending of the alt-coin winter, please come and help us support your coin by helping fill up the order books at our exchange to make a market. We don’t have any trading fees.

We need to get more people to join our Discord community
1 - I would like to set up "Crypto Ambassadors" for different parts of the world
2 - need some people for marketing

if you would like to be an Ambassador for your country, please let me know -
your job would include translating announcements, and posting them in your native language channels.
(they will be added as needed)

Also - I would like you to work with exchanges in your country to see if we could get listed there.

Suggerisco di chiudere il portafoglio.
rimuovi tutto tranne il file wallet.dat
C: \ Users \ ** tuonome ** \ AppData \ Roaming \ BitcoinFast
quindi riavvia il portafoglio in modo che possa sincronizzarsi da zero

***ANNOUNCEMENT***
BitcoinFast will be performing a coin swap on October 31st,2020 !
The deadline will be December 31st, 2020 !
The major changes and reasons are listed below:
● Total Supply (Reduction 2.5B to 440M)
● Staking Rewards (25% : -1% Reduction/10yrs)

Reasons for the swap are to recover the dead coins lost to Cryptopia.
Secondly, an approx 85% reduction in total supply will make BCF more attractive.
Third, any unclaimed coins will be held by the foundation (10%/yr will be released to directly fund the listing of new exchanges).
We are confident these changes are necessary and integral to the future success of the project!

Old wallet is called bitcoinfastd
new wallet will be called bitcoin-fastd

the GUI wallets are named:
old Bitcoinfast
new Bitcoin-fast

name, ticker, and addresses (first letter) will be the same.

I am setting up a automatic swap.
users will export their keys from the old wallet, and import them to the new wallet.
then, send coins from the old wallet to a specific address, and the system will send new coins to the same address that the coins were received from.

Dont get how that will work out.

Coins on exchange will be swapped by exchange?
Bitcoin Fast -v3.1.1.0-release - dumpprivkey <bitcoinfastaddress> , then importprivkey <bitcoinfastaddress> to new Bitcoin-fast core wallet.
??? "then, send coins from the old wallet to a specific address, and the system will send new coins to the same address that the coins were received from."???

sorry for the delay - been busy :)

the new wallet uses the same first letter a the old wallet. (base58 prefix)
so you can export the keys from the old wallet, and import them to the new wallet - and have the same address on the new chain.

my swapping app will be looking for incoming transactions on the old chain, and will send the new coins from the new wallet to the same address on the new chain.

What about exchanges?

please note that I will be taking the web wallet and discord wallet down on 11/11 2020
they will be down for several days, depending on how many accounts there are in those wallets.

once they are back up, they will be for the new Bitcoin-Fast only.
