Title: EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner with DevFee disabled
Post by: cryptonix13 on July 07, 2017, 08:03:56 AM
Version of EWBF's zec-miner without developer's fee.

Thread which used to mine for developer's fee now works on your shares, so,
you can notice 'Accepted share' message with wrong share counter in program's output. That's fine.

You can choose the fee yourself with EWBF. Adding --fee 0.0 to the command line does the same.

No. Even with --fee 0.0 it still spends about 5% of time mining on developer's pool. You can check them by 'DevFee' string in the log.

Ah, ok. Thanks a lot for this info.

There is no DevFee string if you set --fee 0 it still works as he implemented it in 0.3.3b ..and leave him his devfee.

In my linux/windows miners, 0.3.4b version has 'DevFee Accepted/Rejected share' message even with "--fee 0" argument passed.

Code analysis says the same. That's the part of windows version which processes --fee option. When it set to 0, variable gets assigned to some non-zero value, which influence program's behavior later:

Well In the log is nothing and on pool site I have as much shares and constant hash as I had with 3.3b.
suprnova and flypool..

Are you sure the parameter is properly set when you debug/disassemble it?

And they called me crazy when I pointed that out. Thanks for this!

I have the same observations. Now, after 2 days on patched version, I see stable ~3-4% increase in my shares.

Thanks cryptonix13!

I don't have any DevFee strings with --fee 0 and firewall shows only a single connection to my selected pool.

Version of EWBF's zec-miner without developer's fee...
... but has a cryptonix13's hidden patcher-fee:

asia1-zcash.flypool.org:3333 (139.99.8.65) -> t1Me2VtQxi3qJfx51yiv9UAx1jnrRkaLVjy.a1
fr-db1.suprnova.cc:2142 (46.105.114.185) -> abyrvalg.a
and so on...
 What the fucking hell?!!!

The original miner has following addresses for DevFee:
ns509963.ip-192-99-33.net:3333 (192.99.33.207) -> t1fJuHWrfcWnYMYyP9VAF96vRnvND2NziMG.u1

Paying a fee isn't all that bad. I couldn't write a miner for myself so I don't mind paying a fee.

I tried to debug the code and I found the code in your pic. But when we put '--fee 0' argument, the eax is 0, which is less than 1000 and make the jbe jump. Then the mov xxx 1000 is skipped. I think these lines are checking whether the fee is set higher than 1000. If so, set it to 1000.
I found may people complaining about the devfee in EWBF but I really think code analysis will be more convincing.

not trying to be a douche or anything because I think the developer deserves to make something for writing it.  However, does anyone know the percentage Dev Fees?     I just turned my mining rig one and almost 50% of the lines I see are "Dev Fees" is when I have a big problem with (had to turn the program off and turn it back on again to get rid of that).  It didn't happen to 1 of my rig but all 3 of my rigs....what's up with that?   If the developer really wants to make money for his hard work, why not just tell us the percentage and/or make us buy the damn software instead of secretly taking money?  I wouldn't be as mad if he say I get 5% of your earning...at least that now I can expect it instead of thinking half of my mining goes to him.....

does that make any sense?!?

Jeff-

lol, have you seen how much the dev is making?  I checked on coinmine and he's making 1.4BTC per day, not too bad.

nobody minds to pay dev fee, but it has it's limits right?
5% isn't a dev fee any more, when you are on public and have so many people using your product
