People just immediately go into conclusions saying that "trump is showing dominance" or some other things like "trump doesn't have manners" or something. I think people are over analyzing a stupid handshake. What is he's handshaking skills are just really bad? Even though he's probably had a thousand handshakes his whole lifetime.  :D

Trump is playing wrong from the beginning until now. At the G20 meeting, the other great countries tried to take advantage of this situation , knowing that Trump is stupid they tried to force their views on how trade should be done from the US in order to be correct based on their views. Chancellor Merkel tried to force her views on an open global market in order to benefit all G20 countries and citizens. Trump as always showed ignorance in such meeting. I always measure the outcome with the EUR/USD pair, even with strong jobs last week the dollar still weak, thanks to Trump politics.

Trump is just a showman and always wants to be in the spotlight due to some unusual tricks. I think he will be remembered as the brightest president in the world.

I think it is because he always want to  be superior to his colleagues and does not view anyone his equal. He shows a lot of aggression and has a penchant of spinning facts into lies or to their term alternative facts. He is a showman that is true but the shows he produces are for one thing and one thing only. All for himself and that is what makes him dangerous and very unpredictable.

There are many studies that show that people who want to be in charge at the upper echelons have many character traits of psychopaths. There are good/bad/neutral psychopaths. It is a spectrum like anything else, the amount of convincing and ego and self assuredness required to become a leader is in part psychotic.

We all follow psychotic leaders because we are Sapiens and follow a leader. The vast majority of humans form groups and leaders as their base instinct. I don't really know too much about American politics, but i've shook many hands over the years. Handshakes are for men is like what sniffing butts is for dogs, on the surface it's a seemingly ridiculous ritual, but it's an important formality that has to be done differently in different situations. People can't be expecting the president of the United States to shake hands like you would with your brother-in-law or a new neighbor. If i were Trump i'd maybe go a step further and give it an assertive yet respetful thumbs back, mafia-style clasp, with a little bit of fingers in on the pull out.

It's a psychological thing. Whoever has the better handshake is better at life in general if you will. I watched a interesting documentary about political leaders and how they will set up a meeting with another political leader so that they can have the "top hand shake" or the one which appears on top based on the direction the individuals are facing and taking photos from. Pretty neat stuff really to think about all the science that goes into a simple thing like a handshake.

I did literally just sign up, this just happened to be the first thread I stumbled upon. To your last point, in the current political system we will never have politicians who truly want the best for their people. They are only concerned about getting reelected next term. Voluntary government in a minarchist model may well spawn a "true" politician like that, but the establishment would never allow a society like that to exist.

The media is having problems with each and everything that Trump does. Even after more than half a year, it seems like they can't digest the defeat of their beloved Hillary Clinton. My advice to the mainstream media will be to admit their mistakes and move on.
