Nevest version (0.0.5) now faster than sgminer (should be) on Signatum :)

Got reports of 19.8MH/s on RX 480 (https://www.reddit.com/r/Signatum/comments/6s0re7/ann_prospector_now_supports_signatum/).

Your biggest selling point atm  could be skunkhash performance on AMD cards,
as mining with official sgminer puts AMD cards on a slower side

How about you post result of few AMD cards?

But with current signatum craze, you don't have days to spend on development...hours maybe

If you make a miner for SIGNATUM AMD is better than it is - people are interested.
Ecли cдeлaeтe мaйнep для SIGNATUM AMД лyчшe, чeм ecть - люди  зaинтepecyютcя.

Newest version is a few percent faster. I'll try to do more optimzations tomorrow ( I'll have access to some AMD cards. )

Start the miner, it will generate example configuration, then change "gpu-coin"  entry to "sigt" and enter your pool information in "pools", then start it again, and it should mine on your pool with your information.

Also, you should disable cpu mining by setting "enabled" in "cpu" to false.

There is small entry on configuration file on wiki : https://github.com/semtexzv/Prospector/wiki/Configuration-File

In the new version there is a performance jump. I made a screenshot. The speed reading is better than in SGMINER. But you need to somehow remove the performance dips.

UPD
This result is obtained on Rx580. The RX570 does not. Tell me, what drivers were tested? Which one do you recommend?

Thanks! works great with RX470 4GB on sigt - average 16 - 18MHs much better than the sgminer I used before.

I think I know where are dips coming from, they are probably synchronized with new jobs arriving ( try to spot if it's the case).

I don't know about driver, I don't have any AMD cards for testing.

I sort of sorted it out with jumps. Memory errors skipped. Has lowered frequency, I test.

did that thanks.

How to chose between GPU algos? I currently deleted address from all other coins and left only SIGT so it mines just that.

What is more important for SIGT mining Core or Memory speed any advices for rx 470 or rx 480?

Is it possible to make the initialization of video cards faster? Quite a long time to wait until all are initialized. Or let's make 2 modes. As now, and the second - that would all be immediately initialized.

It looks to be initializing the cards in serial instead of parallel.

Only first initialization is that slow, later launches are faster thanks to caching of some data.

Does this support solo mining?  I tried my credentials for solo mining and it does not work....I replaced the url with mine, and the user/pass fields with mine.  Am I doing something wrong...i don't think so, but I could be wrong on that!  LoL!   :D

Great work!

20,2-20,4 MH/s @RX480 Reddvil 1350/2100
On MSI R9 380 same result like sgminer ~6,3MH/s @1000/1500.

Both on Relive 17.7.2

Is there room for more hashrates ;-)?

Certainly :). It probably doesn't work on older hardware because it uses a lot of local memory in OpenCL ( amount is limited ).
As for speed, after some analysis, iIthink I found the culprit :). I'll have some time this weekend to see if I can optimize it more.

Even if it's in alpha stage, the miner is working very efficiently. I was facing so many issues with sgminer but this worked in one go. I'm already hashing at 130 MH/s for 6x RX 580.

Old cards, miner is optimized for RX 4**,5** cards. The older architecture has less resources per compute core, so the utilization of GPU tanks.

Hmm, try running "RUST_BACKTRACE=full ./prospector gen-config", and "RUST_BACKTRACE=full ./prospector list-devices" , Never seen this code crash, proabably something with GPU detection

8.85MH/s on RX560 compared to 8.3 on sgminer...when
you take away 2% fee, about 5% faster...hope theres still
more room for improvement...and buy some AMD cards soon,
as you have more room to colelct your fees there, because
ccminer for Nvidias seem to be highly optimized already

I tested it on my 6 x RX580 8Gb and hash rate looks higher than using Sgminer.

Using stock 1366/2000 with a little bit of undervolting I am getting 20.2-20.4Mh

Same settings on Sgminer with intensity 20 I got 18.75Mh.

1) CPU seems to be less occupied with your miner and I do see some GPU on 0% load every now and then

2) Power usage is lower then Sgminer and maybe that is reflected by the idling on some GPU sometimes. 490W with Sgminer and 453W with Prospector.

3) GPU are a lot cooling, they are mostly 60 degrees or below,  and with SGminer they are mostly in the early 60s. I got have all my fans running 60% and my room temperature is around 21 degrees.

So from just looking at hash rate it looks good but on suprnova portal my hash rate on SGminer is quite stable at around 100-110Mh but with Prospector it fluctuate a lot. It can be 120Mh then drop to 60Mh or sometimes 50Mh.

I think there are rooms for improvement definitely but it looks promising so far.

There is an issue with work stalls on gpus with 19 MH/s + , I have fixed this issue and will publish a new build soon.

I got about an 16 MH/s increase with 6 RX 570 Sapphire Pulse 4 Gb, which is pretty much like having a 7th gpu running along.
Went from 16,5-17 MH/s on SGminer to over 19 Mh/s.

Definitely makes up for the 1% devfee. Thank you so much and please keep optimizing this miner! Finnally we AMD miners get some upgrade to mine SIGT.

Thanks again!

How to disable monero mining?

Edit the config.json file, changing "enabled" in "cpu" from true to false.

did that thanks.

How to chose between GPU algos? I currently deleted address from all other coins and left only SIGT so it mines just that.

What is more important for SIGT mining Core or Memory speed any advices for rx 470 or rx 480?

Core only, not so much mem opperations in comparison.

SGMiner only 15-16 M/h with undervolting
Many thanks!

After optimization and debugging, you need to start working on a dual mode, like Claymore. The beginning is good. I wish the author luck. I will test whenever possible.

Old GPUs, current version does not work on 2xx hardware. I am working on complete kernel rewrite that might help.

Hi

First and foremost thanks to semtexzv for providing an alternative miner.

Here are my very initial thoughts on ver. 0.0.6. win64.

  • Initiation time takes a while (approx. 1 min. for 6 GPUs), but not a big deal
  • Watt are much more stable than on sgminer. On sgminer I experienced watt jumps of +/- 5-7 watts every second. On Prospector the variance is 1-2 watts.
  • My hashrate for SIGT has increased from 94mh/s to 100mh/s on 6 rx470 (using driver 17.7.1)

Already running the 0.06 version, speed is around the same on 6 x RX580 @ 121Mh on Windows 10 Pro.

GPU idle seems to have improved.

Thanks for your work and I look forward for the full release with more information and features.

I am testing this on SIGT but will not be mining it for long before going back to ETH.

What are your plans in terms of information shown and features/ coin support?

Awesome Miner

FeatureRequest:

Configurable threads for CPU. I only want to use 70% of my CPU power and use another Monero miner for that. If I could set the number of CPU threads I'd use youre awesome miner.

best regards

Yes I'm aware, and I'm trying to track it down, try running the 0.0.5 version.
Also, amd  series 2xx and 3xx are not working for a lot of people, I'm currently working on some kernel changes, but it seems that I won't be able to do anything about it.

That should work, if you are getting a lot of rejected shares ,that's serious.

Yes please try older releases and report back. If I made a mistake it would help with fixing it.

Check the output of './prospector list-devices -v', and ensure their numbers are correct. If you have overclocked GPUS, try running on stock.

Just discovered and using this from ethos (Ubuntu) and so far, seems like I'm getting about 20% hash rate improvement on RX470/570/580, so the 1% dev fee is definitely worth it.

These are stock values, no o/c (all cards are bios modded for eth mining though).

RX 470 = 14.59 - 15.3 mh/s
RX 570 = 15.8 mh/s
RX 580 = 18.65 mh/s

Thank you, Great job!

Will continue to check in to see when you fix the eth issues, would be great to have another alternative eth miner and maybe even more mh/s than claymore ?

Thanks for this. I'll be mining part time with this app.

Some suggestions:
Claymore's has the option to press a button and see the current status. Would be very cool if we could press 's' and see a 1 minute average hash rate and those other little details.

Share submitted could be a different color in the text, it gives a little more excitement to the mining process (and helps when you look at a glance and see things are working).

Lastly, the CPU miner just pegs my CPU in Windows 10. Limiting CPU usage would be nice. This would also be nice to have adjustments on the GPU side, but it isn't nearly as important.

I want to do all these things, but I only have so much time. I am currently focusing on getting better SIGT performance.

About mining xmr with cpu, is there any command to enter how many threads can cpu use to mine xmr?

In the archive only exe there is no file readme how to configure the launch. Where to look for information about the launch. How much time should I spend? Why you can not put an archive file with an example like this makes claymore.

than go the the grocery store and buy some bier.
Open config file- notepad, notepad++, and change wallet address to yours. You can change pool, what coin will you mine with gpu and so on.

This should not be your priority now.

Some additional comments:
- I have experienced that when a card (1 of 6) crashes, the miner will still reports a normal hashrate from it, even though I can see that it has dropped in watts and hashrate on the pool.
- As some others have mentioned the 3x total average information is missing. This must be from
The miner crashed on me a couple of times yesterday, meaning that I will currently only mine using this miner, when I'm home. I do not see similar crashes in sgminer. So stability and optimizing SIGT mining should be at the top of your to do list on this :)

Thanks for your effort!

Hi,

Awesome miner reporting higher hashrates using 6x 570 nitros 4gb over sgminer. (113mhs vs 100) can get more but testing at the moment.

A few things to mention:

1. It does seem a little more unstable at the moment compared to sgminer,  but given thats it still in alpha stage its still pretty damn stable. (had a few crashes, etc)

2. Recent crash i had reached around 3000 shares. Said something to do with 'it panicked' was telling me to run backtrace, not sure what that is. Any clue? The miner was still running, power draw war correct bu no hashrate reported in miner/pool account.

3. This seems like a bug to me. After closing the miner due to restarting miner/crash or restarting pc, the miner stops reporting the average hasrates of gpus as mentioned by others. They are also not running correctly, as power draw is cut by more than half, nor is the hashrate reported correctly on pool account. The fix i found was to delete the info and config files, re run the miner to create fresh files of both and inputting your info, mining pool, username etc into config file again. Run the miner and it should be back to normal.

These are a few things i noticed. Again awesome job, looking forward to further versions!

Thank you very much for this easy fix! I deleted info and json files and it came back alive. Gonna be monitoring it though, because mine crashed around 3000 shares too.
Dev needs to look into this bug not showing avg hashrate,

Thanks to @Hurtman, @Mind163 and @oli123 for testing newest version and providing valuable feedback.

The new kernel still needs a lot of optimization, and I will not stop until it is faster than the old one :)

Thanks for your efforts
please take care that sometimes miner hangs after switching to devfee or switching back to mining for system owner

Another update:

After a long night, I finally optimized the new kernel.

This is XFX 470 4GB Stock on the new kernel: (On the old one it could do max 17.5-18 MH/s)

https://i.imgur.com/py8Bqt5.png

Newest version will contain this kernel, and some other improvements. Stay tuned :)

Great. I just started using this yesterday for the first time. Certainly enjoying the 20% boost in hash rate over sgminer I'm seeing on 7xRX480 8GB rig. I've had a couple crashes as well.  Is there debug log some where so I can report what is going on?

NEW VERSION UP!!

I have finished the 0.0.7 release which brings awesome new kernels for AMD RX 4** and 5** . Stock RX 570 can now do about 19.2 MH/s.
New version also contains fixes for slow status reporting, and saves miner logs into 'logs' directory.

https://github.com/semtexzv/Prospector/releases/tag/0.0.7-ALPHA

Note: If you have RX 290 performance might be lower or higher, I don't really know how will this new kernel work on these devices.
If you have these devices, please report your hashrates, and whether they are lower or higher than previous versions.

Nvidia miners are unaffected, miner uses old kernel on Nvidia devices.

Enjoy :)

RX580 8Gb at frequencies of 1470/2250 gives 24.24 Mh. At frequencies of 1375/2250, it gives 22.80 and at 1200/2250 = 19.93. Good job.
1375/2200 = 22.75 (mod timings)
1375/2000 = 22.71 (mod timings)
1375/1650 = 21.11 (standart timings)

RX570 4GB
1200/2050 = 18.24 (mod timings)
1350/2050 = 20.36 (mod timings)
1400/2050 = 21.11 (mod timings)
1450/2050 = 21.92 (mod timings)

Not seeing anything useful in the logs.  This last restart ran fine for about 15-20 minutes and then my total Hash dropped off from 130 Mhs to 92Khs and never recovered.  Can you make the Intensity manually configurable?  I know with sgminer it was quite a fine line between working fine and crashing. Wondering if the dynamic difficulty adjustment is causing problems.

Shouldn't be, it means that the miner changes the work size depending on system load. This is shouldn't cause any crashes.

Hello! What driver are you using? I was getting an avg of ~119 or something hashrate with the same GPUs on version 0.0.6 but I'm getting half of it on v0.0.8.
What driver should I use?

Thanks

new versions should be faster on these cards, did you stop other miners before testing ?

Yes, I stopped all miners and booted the computer. I deleted all files and extracted 0.0.6 back, and now I'm getting 97 MH/s instead of the aforementioned 119. Just trying to find newest drivers to see if it'll solve the problem with newer prospector versions

0.0.7 version mine a bit faster for me, but something is not quite right. After some time, or If I do anything with PC, system crashes, BSOD.. (thread stuck of something)

Mine works well, I'm mining on last version since it came out, and play GW2 on that PC
from time to time

Hello. I updated my driver to the latest version on AMDs site, dated july 27th, v17.7.2 and now I can succesfully run Prospector 0.0.8, but my MSI Afterburner does not let me OC my gpus. Does anyone know a quick fix for this? I'm getting 112 MH/s with 6 rx 570, which is pretty good for stock, but I want to OC it

Tried it for SIGT on a 470 rig. Some cards get up to 16MH/s (core at 1100) with ETH settings, not bad. However some cards just never seem to get initialized properly and get stuck at 4MH/s or even worse 90KH/s. On this particular RIG, I have 3 different memory brands (hynix, elpida and samsung) so maybe something's "f'ed" somewhere...

Yes I thought so too. Was worth a try but I'm going to leave that rig alone doing it's thing on eth/sia.

OK, I had to reinstall it quite some times, use DDU, etc. but now it's working!
I'm getting 126 MHs from 6 GPUs with a 1450 core clock (it wouldnt go higher than 1400 before without crashing, which is great), using v.0.0.7 so my question now is how much can I OC the core safely without worrying if my temps are below 68 ºC?? Is there a limit for the rx 570s?

I have tried 0.07 and 0.08 without much success on my 6 x RX580 rig, all identical model with same Hynix memory consecutive serial numbers. 0.06 seems to be ok getting around 20.xx.

On 0.07 and 0.08 I always have one GPU at 0.0.0Mh , some 16Mh, 22Mh, 400Kh..etc.

I am not using the latest driver as the current mixed driver has no problem with my Claymore dual mining and I am not switching just for the tiny 1-2Mh increase.

My core is running at 1366Mhz and I have undervolt a little -96mv using Trixx and getting 20.xxMh with 0.06 version so I'm sticking to it.

Not much point overclocking the core as you will have to push up the voltage in return and it is not likely to get to 30Mh anyway.

Will be good if you can keep a version based on the kernel used in 0.06 but with additional features or info later.

CPU temperature, manual intensity will be useful.

Trying to test sia mining speed using nanopool, but kernel panicks and miner stops,
can someone post example of proper nanopool config for sia?

Edit: disregard, I just saw on wiki that nanopool is not supported

New version released, contains user-facing improvements

So i am using 0.0.9, it creates a toml config file, but still uses the old json files (if the json file is not present it writes a new config file all over)

On the other hand, its more stable than 0.0.8 and has a much noticed decrease in using cpu power.

Looking forward for your next update

I read few pages i couldn't find the answer

Miner 0.0.09 does not show hashrate. As i remember, 0.0.06 (last one i tried) does it shows.

Hi! I'm using the latest version of Prospector with 2 RX 480's and mining SIGT. All is going well until I get an  insufficient memory error. I watched the Prosecutor.exe task in the task manager under windows and the memory size increases with around 50MB every 2 seconds. Is there a fix for this?

Well, I couldn't reproduce this issue  on my PC, if this occurs every time, you could help me with tracking it down.

Yeah, I tried restarts, running as an admin. The memory usage goes from 116MB to 3GB in 2 minutes. When it gets to my max RAM a pop-up appears with insufficient memory. Ill try and screenshot it for you.

If you are working with linux an experience this error:

################################ OPENCL ERROR ###############################

Error executing function: clCreateCommandQueue

Status error code: CL_OUT_OF_HOST_MEMORY (-6)

Please visit the following url for more information:

https://www.khronos.org/registry/cl/sdk/1.2/docs/man/xhtml/clCreateCommandQueue.html#errors

#############################################################################
), State { next_error: None, backtrace: None }) restarting

reinstall OpenCL. In my case it was an old config I dragged around for some version updates. Reinstall is easier as fixing config

Been getting same error on any version other than 0.0.6-ALPHA. Running ubuntu 16.0.4 with fresh install and tried both AMD 17.30 and 16.40 drivers with no luck.  On a good note after running fresh install of 0.0.6-ALPHA and running AMD 17.30 drivers I am getting 20Mhs per card with RX 480 8GB cards.

great work semtexzv. thank you very much!
I made some tests and it works great on my 5x rx480 rig. I get 100-101 MG/H. Thanks!
But with old driver (I had 16.11.5) I got very high memory usage on my windows 10 64bit machine. With 4 GB memory I could not run 5 cards but only 3! After I changed the driver from 16.11.5 to 17.7.1 there is everything OK! I can mine with memory usage under 2.5 GB (whole system).

Can you please make the temperature and fan control over the config file so we can set the target temp and fans works on auto to hold the target temp as in sgminer for example!

Thank you very much!

HI

same thing with me NameTaken, only v0.0.7-ALPHA works fine.

with RX 560 4G, RX 570 4G, RX 580 4G, RX 580 8G

Motherboards with 4Gb one with 8Gb

I believe this is related to drivers, please update your drivers and report, whether this issue still occurs

It would be GREAT if you could get this miner working properly on older drivers like 16.9.2.

just put the pool and port , wallet(user) ,password etc in front of algo you want to mine and set the algo in top
gpu-coin = "sigt"
cpu-coin = "xmr"
and set any device you don't want to use to false.

try to start it for a min for it to create a config file with your gpus in it

here's an example
=================================================
[general]
gpu-coin = "sigt"
cpu-coin = "xmr"

default-username = "18FcsT6g5FtrFwXiWsxCZ1M3fbKfdG531W"

[gpus.1-0]

[cpu]

label = "CPU"
=================================================

[gpus.x-y] x being the platform and y being the gpu number
same as --opencl-device and --opencl-platform of SGminer.

Well, for the past week I've been researchin gand experimenting with CUDA, and I'm starting to work on cuda wrapper for rust, that I will use in the miner.

Hey again! I just bought a 1080ti but I'm only getting 25MH with it, compared to the ccminer at a speed of 35MH. I'm using the alpha 0.0.10 version. Can I improve the speed somehow?

When using both CPU and GPU mining at once, on my AMD 8320 + two RX560 cards,

my usual 20MH/s signatum hash becomes like this in log:

15:17:57 - INFO   Signatum: Miner received new job
15:17:59 - INFO   Signatum: Shares    1 accepted / 1 total
15:18:00 - INFO   Signatum: Devices   0-0: 15.13kHash/s, 0-1: 19.79kHash/s
15:18:00 - INFO   Signatum: Average   52.08k, 40.86k, 40.86k Hash/s (30s, 5m, 30m)

I think you should restrict CPU usage for mining to 90%, or give us some option

to regulate it, so that CPU have cycles to dedicate to GPU mining

1060 not good for monero, you can get like 520h/s per card, that is a pity.

Sorry was a vague and meaningless post looking back........other than the thankyou.

I was using SG-Miner 5.3.3

On an RX 480 4GB, went from 18.09 up to 21.49 MHash/s

Sapphire nitro 1306mhz core 1750mhz memory. Seems to use the same power looking at HWinfo.

*Development update*
Over the last week, I have rewritten parts of internal architecture of the miner. These changes will not show, but will siginificatnly speed up further development.
I also created new CUDA library, that will alow this miner to better utilize Nvidia Cards.

I will publish this version this week.

0.0.11-ALPHA is out - WOHOO :-)

Finally. This release contains first CUDA miner - ZCash, and a complete rewrite of several internal components.

These changes should provide a great foundation for future improvements.

Download: https://github.com/semtexzv/Prospector/releases
Zcash was only tested on NiceHash, and I currently do not have any GPUs whatsoever to test other pools, if you mine ZCash on a pool other than NiceHash, please report here.

Enjoy :).

There weren't any changes to signatum mining code. Don't know what could have caused this :/.

Edit: Probably found the issue, Uploading new build now.

Nope :D. During the rewrite, I made a lot of the components more generic and shared between multiple miners.
One configuration variable was not updated to specific value needed for signatum.

I believe this is related to drivers. Can you do a memory dump, and upload it  somewhere ? ( TaskManager , right click on prospector -> create dump file).

That could help.

Not supported yet, look at the github page.

I'm also looking for LBRY support for my rigs.

For me, the prospector number 1 is for mining coins with algo skunkhash. I used sgminer but since I tried a prospector I use only the one. It's 20 to 30 percent more powerful.
That's why I'm glad that newer releases are always coming up with new enhancements. Good work developer. I'm using 4x amd rx480 for sigt. Later I try other algo options and I´ll post the results.
Here's my screen from mining:

Nope.

Ethminer is written in C++, Prospector is written in Rust.
Memory leak on prospector only happens on specific AMD drivers and to very small amount of people. This leak is not a standard memory leak. This is some fatal flaw in the driver, or OpenCL libraary that I'm using.

I say that because i've tracked leaks with similar footprint in ethminer.

Did you started from scratch in Rust or there was a code base alldeay ?

Please add thread count config for the CPU miner.

Running with 8 threads on i7 simply chokes the CPU and limits performance

So I want to try this miner. First Google Chrome won't download it, because of potential danger. I ignored that. Then my Windows Defender goes crazy about this file. Ok, it could be a false positive, so I put it in my exclusion list. I start the executable and it creates a config.toml file, which I adjust with my settings. But after this first start the executable just won't run anymore?! Even after a reboot the executable won't start.

I can't be the only one experiencing this problem? Why can't I find anything about this in this thread?

Start the executable through command line and report the error text here, I started to rework error reporting, so the miner will wait for user input on errors, but I must have missed something.

I would really help you with some error text, but as I told earlier, nothing happens after launching it the first time...

When do you release new version of prospector with support of more coin ?

For information, Signatum mining has ending => no dev fee :)

is it even safe to use this miner ? :'(
it was suggested on https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2105778.2360
but when i tried. v0.0.12-ALPHA

https://www.virustotal.com/ru/file/2d7037fa862e0449f9ac8479faf2f15f77b7f1ecc4e0af3c3f6a781ce5844a5b/analysis/1508193987/
and it acted very strange ... almost (?) escaped sandboxie (one of windows had no yellow borders).....it created something like "svchost.exe.exe"  (very suspicious name for file!!) and was stopped by avira. (was hard to turn it off completely).

also my avira antivirus got strangely disabled after using it. it was running but there was button to "install it" when i clicked to check quarantine.

i mean i got this instantly after running this miner in sandbox
https://i.imgur.com/9bFrjar.png

"\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\DwiDesk\svchost.exe.exe"  ??? ???

really suspicious name guys....

Most miners give lots of hits on virustotal...sadly, we can' be 100% sure...because
most crypto software developers pack their code same way as virus writers do,
and AV software acts like "better safe than sorry" which leads to lots of
false positives

I don't know what you are running, But this miner definitely does not create any files named svchost....
This must be result of something other running on your computer.

Also, the false positives are a result of Packer that I use to protect the source code.

I don't have that directory, so I guess its not prospector, at least not in my case...

however googling "dwidesk" gives links about trojans, but maybe its some other app

installed clean win 7 in virtual machine
installed .net 4

added folder to exception list
unpacked miner

same result

This miner does not require Dotnet, if it does, it's not my miner. Anyways, I changed my github info, and uploaded a new version, in case my github was compromised.

v0.0.13-ALPHA looks much better  ;D well at least AV say so.  (even Malwarebytes Anti-Malware have nothing bad to say ;D)

if somebody is curious. This miner works  ;D on 7950 unlike sgminer used in "fair distribution" in signatum.
(at least on pool ... can't make it work with 127:0:0:1:port.... solomine ......anyway on pool it works)
but card is really old.... and hashrate is much lower (like 8 times lower) than people get with new cards like 480/580.
so only around 2.5M at 970mhz core and with default memory speed.

Love you miner...one catch...it goes down every hour and doesn't reset because it cannot connect to dev fee pool. I know you are busy but could you fix this, or walk us through the process to fix?

Thanks and good luck

i was able to fix the problem by setting up a scheduling task using a free program called "system scheduler." I set this to go off every hour on the hour and restart 1 minute past the hour. This way the dev still gets his fee and I'm only losing one minute an hour of mining. Sucks to lose any time but the program is one of the best for AMD.

Having a strange issue when mining Skunk on RX 480 + Blockchain drivers

After initialization, the GPU speed drops to ~600 instead of working on the max 1250MHz
Obviously the hashrate suffers and is about 15 instead on 19+

Any ideas why is this happening or how to force the full speed?

Sounds like overheating problem

Sounds like overheating problem

The fan in the above scenario is running on almost silent and the temperatures are pretty low

And it works fine on all other miners including dual mining (which heats it up way more)

Its possible that it started after installing the Blockchain drivers (previously was running on latest drivers in Compute mode), I need to try reinstalling them...

Could be just incompatibility with drievrs or windows, then, as miner is not updated for a long time

I like this miner. I just found out about this miner because of cognitio. Too bad the developer seems to be very busy to continue developing this miner. I hope someone will step-in to continue his work.

For those of you having a problem when the miner is reconnecting to developer's pool, I found a work around. Create a batch file that will launch the miner. Though 10 reconnection to developers' pool is pretty long, it will take roughly 30 minutes before the miner restart, but on the brighter side at least you don't have to worry about your miner being idle for a couple of hours while you are sleeping or away.

:start
prospector -c config.toml
timeout 3
goto start

I found out about this miner because I was looking for something that can mining the skunkash algorithm
When I tried to load the gigub port sgminer, I received a 404 error. During further searches, I found a Prospector. This is the only miner for the skunhash algorithm on the AMD GPU. Very handy miner with intuitive settings. I would be happy if the developer continues to develop his own miner.

Is there anyone here still using this multi-coin gpu miner? There's a lot of mining program now offered in mining section, but we need to see who is amongst the best offer, specially in mining fee, transparency and effectiveness of the miner.

Just to let you guys know, I'm back  & working on a totally new rewrite of the miner utilizing more efficient architecture
with the goal of supporting OpenCL + Cuda, and WebAssembly based cpu miner for the web in single codebase.

and 5700 support?  ;D
