I don't really think that there is a good time to sell,
we don't really know how high it could get so for me my best time would be when I really need a cash for my expenses,
When I am out of budget for everything that I need for food,transportation and anything else.

Take some time analyzing the market, the value of bitcoin increase rapidly but there was a time it decreases...I think you should hold the bitcoin for long term investment and sell them after 3 to 4 years...surely it will give you good harvest...but if your in doubt you can sell it right away when you think the price is reasonable

there's no exact time to sell bitcoin as a traders im depending on the flow of the economy and ofcourse im depending on the news when i know there will be a big dump i fastly sell my bitcoin ofcourse in a high price i have a team where we all traders and we're selling our bitcoin same time then when the big dump happen we are buying as much as possible including the income we got from selling it on before the big dump. that's how you manage your bitcoin. buy low sell high.

Yes, buy low sell high. Of course the best time to sell is really when the price is very high. Let's look at one example. If you could remember a few days ago bitcoin hit a low price of $1890 or something. If you bought it at that price you can easily made a profit if you are going to sell it at $2800. That's how you gonna sell. If you get it cheap then when there is a good opportunity to sell at a high price then that's the good time to sell.

Other than when a crash is about to happen, if you think about it, it's NEVER a good time to sell Bitcoin because the price will always increase.
Now if you want to day trade then it's a whole different story which cannot be answered by random strangers on a forum. Start trading with small amounts and you will get the gist of it yourself.

No particular time can determine whether it's right to sell your bitcoins but the best strategy is buying when the price is low and selling when the price is high, if you focus on the fluctuations of bitcoins maybe you were able to earn on the last few days. Just hold your coin and wait for the price hike.

Well, the obvious answer for this would be just to sell Bitcoin when you know you will make a profit. The problem is, you never know when you will ever make a profit. This is a risk with this investment. Who is to say that 5 years from here, bitcoin won't hit 10,000 and you just sold Bitcoin for 3.

I would recommend splitting your funds, say 50 percent to hold forever, 50 percent for trading and that way, you will never lose it all, if Bitcoin does flop and all of our money goes down the drain.

Selling will be the end of your opportunities. But when bitcoin will be entering into the phase of "getting being used" as currency, it might have stable prices and that must be the good time to sell literally.

But for that you might need to wait for 200 years too lol. Moreover in next 5 to 10 years you may see your corner shop will be having a board which will be reading "Major crypto coins are accepted here". Now tell me you, you need a better time than that ?

Selling may not define good time but spending bitcoins for your daily life will.

That will depend on how much profit is your target in the first place. If you have earned enough then you can sell your coins. Do not sell if you loss some profit, that would be dumb of you to do such foolishness. So to simply put this together, buy when the price is low and sell if you profit enough from your capital.

I think best time to sell is when it begins to fall due to panic, just in order to buy lower. Sell forever? I think there is not likely a time like that.  ;D

The perfect time to sell bitcoin is of course when bitcoin prices reach high prices and buy them when bitcoin prices are down if you want to buy them. Bitcoin prices are indeed fluctuating we should be able to predict well and see the market development of bitcoin.

Why not choose sell when highest price with market happy and buy when lowest price with panic market? =)) I think it better than selling when begins to fall due to panic, because maybe you will get bearish trap make you regret after do that.

When you got profit, then it is a good time to sell, if you are too greedy and keep on thinking tomorrow the price will higher then you will never sell any coin and maybe you will miss the chance to sell and suffered lost, the bitcoin market volatility is high, set a target so when it reach that target go ahead and sell it

Just sell all your bitcoin now because the price is still high, you will regret if there is a big dump going on, if you sell it now while the price is still high, in the near future you can still buy again when the price is low, because i worried 1 Aug there will be chaos.

Who knows when the best time to sell is yourself, friend. You know how many profit targets you are, you know how much you buy, and you know your condition. Basically the best time to buy is when the price goes up, or maybe it could be when the price is higher when you buy. The price of bitcoin is very volatile and unpredictable, so you should plan your buy / sell target, it will make it easier for you.

I think there is no other guide you can here if you buy your bitcoin in cheap price just sell your bitcoin if the price is expensive.. its a basic thing that traders and investors do.. but bitcoin is not increase value in the same time and depends in demand you should wait for the price to increase i think 15% or until 25% this is a good profit that you can save and buy again once the price are drop again back.
So if you holding bitcoin right now and you buy your bitcoin when the price of bitcoin is around $1900 few weeks ago you already made a good profit that you can sell right now.. or if you bought your bitcoin right now better to wait more months or weeks if the price increase until $3k above..

Just have some patience and wait as we could see the bitcoin price recovering quickly.After segwit,it may rise very high and you would have to regret at that time if you sell it now.So just wait and watch.All the dust have started to settle down much earlier before the segwit activation.

He can surely sell his bitcoin anytime he wanted, but I think it is best to just take a small amount if he really need money because surely the price is still good and recovered from the dump of fearful users, and just like you said if this event was started the price will totally leap up high but the question here, if the coin splits what price does your native wallet could be supporting or can it be really for this kind of event, we can really see after August 1 occur.

Sell for the following reasons:

1) You need the money for something important or for retirement.

2) You have made a lot of money and want to cash it in and put it into something more conservative.

3) You are trading and are selling high to buy back low.

4) You think the price will drop due to bad news, a pump, a potential fork, etc.

If you hold long term your investment will probably make money, but if any of the above apply to you, then you may need to sell.

Look at the bit chart on bitcoinwisdom. There is not a single day up until May of this year that it wasn't a terrible idea to sell. NOT A SINGLE DAY. Unless you think bitcoin could be dead from here, it makes no sense to sell. If you have mad skilz at trading then go for it.

Bitcoin is unpredictable there's no specific time for you to use as guidelines in selling your coins but my suggestion is that sell them when the price is high or hold them for a short period maybe after the August 1 we can see a good news in the value of bitcoin. If your coins were acquired last week for sure selling now will give you good harvest.

Just sell Bitcoins if you are really desperate for money or if you bought it to show someone you can have profit from Bitcoins.

For an example: There are some people I know that don't believe in Bitcoins, they think it's waste of time, waste of money and that I can't make profit from it. So I took some money and bought Bitcoins, let's say $500 in BTCs. Then after some time the price increased 50%, so I could make 50% profit over that and cash out ($750) to show these people Bitcoin worth hoping to motivate them to do the same.

It's an open ended question, there is no detail, nothing. For 1 month long investment, $3000 is the sell point. For 1 year lon investment, $5000 is the exact sell point.

Bitcoin is the ultimate test of patience. Those without patience will lose or get lucky and break even. Those blessed with patience will become rich.

What do you mean emotions? Emotions should be check here. You don't need to be emotional just to sell your bitcoins. For me I'm just gonna sell if I need it money. Because I'm planning of holding bitcoin for long term, but it there are emergency along the way then I have no choice really but to sell a portion for my used. I will not sell just because I wanted to get my profit. No. The profit will just end end something like gambling and totally be wasted. I wouldn't do such a thing. I would rather saved in long term than carelessly use it for no purpose.

Right, you say. A lot of people made bitcoin God. Pray and fast, but saving your coins for the future. I advocate a pragmatic approach and for me bitcoin is just a currency that helps me have what I need now. Who knows what the future holds and whether it will be for us. Life is too short to spend it on waiting for a bonus at the end.

Indeed, I do believe that panic selling will never have a good effect on your transaction. Anyway, based on my opinion it is better to sell your bitcoin of course if it is on high price so that you will get a higher amount. However, if it is not necessary then just hold it for a long time.

When you think you'll have a profit then why not sell but I think if it's not necessary just hold your coin tight and wait the price goes to the moon. So now, hold as long as you can.

Some people have a thoughts of after August 1 ,the price of bitcoin reaches the moon .I.e,peak.It may 3000$ or 4000$ anything. May be between this two also.But compared to Current rate of bitcoin. Bot are greater. If you satisfied with any day price means,you can sell on that day

But that is one of the prediction other 1 is it is splitted and I think the price is also splitted and I hope that it will not. Lets hope that the pricr gets higher. Thought try to hold it some months more there will be a big pumps of coin .

Bitcoin market volatility is really high, no one can prediction when the time to sell bitcoin but i know one ways to handling this, you must have a target for able make a profit and never be greedy person because greed only make us suffered. 

i think when we are make analyze, we should know what is our target to sell like you said because if we don't know what is the price, then we can not sell and take the profit. its not good if we are going to be a greedy person because we need to survive in trading and make some profit for future. so i think if we only can make small profit then its no problem because in other time, we can make big profit if there is a pump for the coin.

Maybe after the 1st of August, bitcoin prices will go up very high. Well, I feel that at the moment it is a good time to sell a large amount of bitcoin. I'm sure, there will be a rise in bitcoin prices before the end of the year.

If that's the case about August 1st, I guess we should stop selling our bitcoins now and store it on our designated wallets or convert to other type od tokens like ethereum. Actually we need not to be so worried about that date, because speculation were really viral just for that date and I don't know why investors were very shaking of their feet about it. I think now is not a good time to sell bitcoin, it is going through a process of transformation, a lot of things can happen after August 1st. So if you sell it now, you will Regret However, in the worst case, you will lose some money when the bitcoin value decreases.

I can not raise a little bit of one thing, Why Bitcoin users, so very quickly want to discard coins. The good time to sell has passed, when it was over $2800 few days ago, I hope you have sold it.
And the best time to buy back is in the end of this month or after August 1^st if you can wait a little longer, I guess it can drop to $2300 or $2000 as the bottom due to hard fork that will be happen on August 1^st.

no it is not passed is is going in next few months again when the price of bitcoin will reach to 5000$. i am sure that at the end of 2017 the price of bitcoin will easily cross 5000$ and at that time bitcoin will be giving us a good profit and at that time it will be good time to sell our bitcoin i think.

The only one that can decide that is you, there is not a guide for that because everyone has their own needs, if for example you have an accident and you need the money then you are going to sell since you need to raise money to cover the costs of your accident, so it will not matter if the price of bitcoin crashed at that point you will sell.

You should wait till 1 August. After settled dust you can make decision with btc buy/sell options or go to learn professional trading. ;)

It would be the best thing to do now. Waiting until everything is done after August 1. Don't hesitate and hasty to sell your bitcoins, the market will be fluctuating as bitcoin's price will surge for sure.

I think now is a good time to sell bitcoin, it is carrying a very good value, it is suitable for anyone to protect their money, August 1 event can affect a lot to The value of bitcoin. I worry bitcoin will go down quickly then.

That BCC fork event is not going to change anything. People will be dumping it in hours. Bitcoin will stay strong and most probably after 1st August Bitcoin price will increase because of increase in investors confident as all the fuss would be cleared.

It depends upon how much profit you expected from your initial investment. If you are satisfied with the returns go on and sell your Bitcoins. But let me tell you if you don't really need your money, then keep it invested in Bitcoin. Bitcoin has huge potential and would most probably double your investment by next year.

The whole market is going to be affected that is why some decided to cash out and some decided to buy tether, we will see if they are right to leave the market or those that held were right once again to decide to not do anything and enjoy their east profits.

But they don't know when Bitcoin frozen, USDT will frozen too because the platform USDT using from platform Bitcoin. So, if the pair BTC and USDT can't trading in this time, Ethereum and Monero (I tell about exchange Poloniex) will become to hot coin for trading and maybe the price of them will increasing more if my predict is right.

Anyway, for me the best time to sell if when the price is right for you.
When you think that out of that price you will have a good profit.
But if not, hold it and wait for the price gets to the moon.

Yes I do, I never do have a specific target, if I think I have a profit then I immediately sell to fiat, if the price I think is cheap then buy immediately, because bitcoin is not a fixed price, as long as profitable selling course whenever does not matter.

You don't need time to sell bitcoin, because anytime you have a chance to sell your bitcoin in good price. But sometimes we need to timing our selling of bitcoin to avoid our lost of profit. Moreover, I suggest to review first the fluctuation of bitcoin in the market to assure that when you sell your bitcoin you will gain income.
