Title: Best time to buy altcoins?
Post by: integrity1 on July 28, 2017, 06:14:47 AM
Hi guys. I'm looking to invest a couple of thousand dollars in cryptocurrency. I'm not a trader and would like to invest in currently undervalued alcoins with the best potential for the long term growth. Have been reading up extensively and following the markets but still not sure if now is the best time to enter.

Thus requesting an insight from you: invest now or wait and see what the August brings? And what are the possible scenarios for altcoins it can bring?

I think the best time to buy some alt-coin is when the price is dropping down or at very low price.
Then after that all you have to do is wait for it to recover its price but be careful in investing your money.

if you are not a trader i suggest staying away from altcoins. just invest in bitcoin. you can even wait for after August 1 to do it if you are afraid of the future or you can buy in case you saw another dip (unlikely).

if you want to buy altcoins you need to be a trader. and in my experience they are not good for long term. it is best if you just trade them and get the short term profit and put that in something that has a better long term future. bitcoin, gold, ... come to mind.

as it was also recently proven, when bitcoin goes down altcoins go down with it.
this means that if you think August first can have a negative effect on bitcoin price then you should not invest in altcoins either.
of course there are always small unknown altcoins that are getting pumped and dumped irregardless of what is going on in the world. and for that (as i said above) you need to be a trader. you need a lot of experience to be able to pull it off successfully and not invest in the bubble and get dumped on.

first  thing to consider is the fundamentals of the coins you will be supporting. know it's use and survey it's situation in the market. then if you are really decided to invest on that coin then wait for it's dip. when the price is low take the advantage of buying it. again on the first line make you really believe on it's fundamentals. then wait for the pumping period and see to it you already gain before selling.

Not for now i see the current price of each alt is in green days and this one should needed to be followed so if those red days occured well maybe we can buy some of them and wait for it to pump and earn with them, But you must select those potential coins listed so that you can make sure for yourself that those coin will pump eventhough theirs dump stike on the coin you've bought.

We'll never know when will prices fall very low, or even will never fall very low. currently, some altcoin has the price under ICO price, and it's been good enough to buy it. such as Mobilego (MGO), SONM and many more.
so I think the best time to buy is when the price of altcoin is under ICO price.

If talking about profit, of course everyone wants it. Buying cheaply and waiting for the price to go back up then sell it, I think that's what all investors and traders expect. But I see now this market is not yet stable, so we should wait a little longer. After August 1st, I'm sure there will be plenty of Pumps in every altcoin. Patience to minimize losses

I hope if we wait for another 2 or 3 days we can grab some cheap coins because due to the fork many people are withdrawing their BTC to their hard wallets. So this is the right time to people who are looking for some cheap altcoin and you make profits when the market settles.

I have bought some alt for on hold until 1st of August. May be said now is the right time to invest in atl, but do not just think of the benefits alone, you must first understand the risks.
Read a lot on this thread and keep learning, be careful and meticulous in investing. All options are in your hands.

I think it isn't the completely best time to invest your money in the altcoins because the price of the bitcoin is still high ( even in these circumstances where network of the bitcoin is under upgradation ).
So here my suggestion is to buy bitcoin in small small installments and invest in installments also for altcoins . And don't invest all.of your money in single altcoin .
But after the completion of the fork , try to make buy btc in bulk and then invest in multiple coins , because after hard fork there is no reason to stop himself from any type of investment .

Well many altcoins that has potential will be more expensive in the future, they are litecoin, dashcoin, ethereum classic, ripple and another altcoins that has large amount of capitalization you can check on here https://coinmarketcap.com/
But the best strategy investing into altcoins is never put all of your money in one altcoins, you can make investment on couples altcoins include invest in ICOs, it will gives maximal profit from your investment.

Best time to altcoins is when you learn everything about that one coin and its community. If you have enough trust you can even buy in so called peak and even profit from it. Just learn more about it. My personal preference is Pos first as well.

Yes, many people investing into single coin and concentrate profits only with it. But it is completely wrong because we to find which altcoin will give you more profits in future and invest them into those. Don't keep all your eggs in one basket, try to divide them into a different altcoins which is good and reputable in the market.

It is just a basic thing where you buy low and sell high your tokens in the market to gain a very good profit in the market but j guess the altcoins today is already dump in the market and i think it will continue to be dump in the market until august so maybe just see in august what gonna happened.

In my opinion the best time to buy alts are now and tomorrow. All the money from alts are running into btc to make the best out of the fork situation. All the alts are red now! Buy some blood if you want.

Yeah , totally agree with you , If you can see than you will find that the price of the most of the altcoins are down ( poloniex , yobit , nova ) .
Here I myself is thinking to invest my all bitcoin into altcoins because here the chances to increase the price of the coins are more after the fork because most of the people transferred all the bitcoin from the exchange to Thier address of wallet and waiting for the complete of the fork ( waiting to recover himself from fork splitting fear mostly ) .
So just make investment in 4-5 coins which are at much down price and have better future according to your analysis , and analysis here plays an important roles for the successful trading , so instead to be blind first make some research to buy those altcoins which are not much famouse and are at down price .

I suggest that you dont buy know, since many altcoins are in the green but if you really want to buy now, there are some altcoins that I think is currently oundervalued today. One of which is well known by the community and has a token creation feature like ethereum. You can also wait for after august 1 because there will be a fork on bitcoin and it is seen in the past few weeks that if bitcoin dumps, many altcoin dumps so dont buy because there is a probability of huge dump in bitcoin.

But in the fact, they don't sell their coins and keep hold their coins because they are really sure the price will skyrocketing than now as well with me. It's not a good idea to sell your Bitcoin because hard fork, a recommended way is to move out your Bitcoin to wallet which you can access the private key rather than sell it.

I think we should buy now because altcoin is really very cheap, altcoin all reduced from 30 to 40% of its value, this is a very good chance to buy because after 1 August the value of all altcoin increases

I personally don't think that there is the best time to buy Altcoins. I think the best thing to do is to invest in ICO. There are a lot of ongoing ICOs now with great potential. Research about that, and invest in the one that you are very interested in. You might thank yourself later once the coin is bigger and better.

My suggestion if you want to buy altcoin now that everything is falling is to look for those coins with bigger volume and bigger negative change. Those are probably the ones that are going to grow the most and faster after everything recovers.

The best time to buy altcoins is just like the best time to buy bitcoin base only on my own perception. The best time to buy altcoin ia when its price is on dump because it is a great opportunity and an indication to buy a lot of altcoin for as much as you can and  sell thise when the time comes that its price value pumps. Just be wise to buy those altcoins that you think can be a good choice for you to gain more.

The alt coins dumps a lot today, may be the reason is the bitcoin pumps a lot, so I think it is the right time to buy some alt coins with a relative low price. But, it is not wise to invest too much money.

it's stupid because if you dump now some altcoin, you can lose potential money to get a bcc coin, that is already being dumped, and will have no value in few days, i keep holding my altcoin, like spreadcoin, with free helium , i'll use my bitcoin for the free giveaway of bcc, there is no reason for me to sell my alt, it's not like i have all bitcoin in the altcoin

This is the FUD war ..

So for my part I keep 80% in Altcoin and I keep 20% in BTC, to take advantage of the BTC pump and to have BTCC (which I will keep for a long time)

And then I sell my BTC, to go back in altcoin to 100% ..

For the big profits, it is with the altcoin on the short / medium term (less than 6 months)

In the investment you want to make a profit, the wait is the enemy of the investor, if you watch for a long time, you will probably have the feeling of missing out on each opportunity right before the eyes. Investments should evaluate that project carefully and decide on your own point of view.
I repeat once again that the more you wait, the smaller your opportunity will be.

Does the 1st August scenario involves altcoins? I thought that only bitcoin will be involved, anyway,  in my opinion,  I recommend that you invest in Eth since the value fell hardly,  you might within a very short period of time make double profit from amount you invested with. The other thing you can do is investing in on going ICOs, I have seen a few ICOs which for me are worth investing in, it's risky but it might benefit you in a long run.

Now would be a good time to buy FootyCash (FOOT).

1. The market has fallen slightly because of the BIP148 activation to take place on August 1st; prices are cheap now so buy before the BIP148 activation.

2. FootyCash developers are getting ready to relaunch and release a new version with Masternodes and Privacy Send like DASH and PIVX. Once that happens the price should rise dramatically.  Now would be a good time to invest and make a good short-term profit.

Other reasons to buy FootyCash:

Footy Cash (FOOT) has seen a meteoric rise in valuation for the past month; with a price increase of more than 5000%+ on multiple exchanges.

https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Exchange/?market=FOOT_BTC#

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1374929.0

I think the reason being is that:

1. Footy has Rarity - Only 4 million coins total can exist.  There is a small POS inflation rate - about 3% annually (for staked coins only).
How many of you can say like the Winklevoss twins - that you own whole percentages of a cryptocurrency.
Looking the current price of FootyCash you actually might be able to!

2. Footy is the first Fantasy Sports Crypotocurrency ever made. - Footy is the Bitcoin of Fantasy Sports!

3. Fantasy Sports is a multi-billion dollar industry - with tens of billions of dollars in annual revenue just for Fantasy Football alone!  If you count all the illegal gambling the figure goes much higher - maybe hundreds of billions? (not that I am condoning illegal gambling - but it's a fact of reality that must be considered anyway).

4. Coinmarketcap list just under 900 altcoins; of those listed only a  small percentage of altcoins have a cap of less than 4 million total coin.  Every coin on coinmarketcap with a rarity of less than 7 million total coins produced are all worth more than $2.00 USD - with the exception of Dreamcoin (because of YOBIT) and FOOTY CASH (which is currently undergoing a price correction: 5000% increase in the past month alone.)

5. The coin was greatly undervalued because of unawareness of the Footy cryptocurrency and Fantasy Sports as well.  As more and more people become aware of its value the price will continue to rise. The price may go higher than $10.00 USD per coin before the end of the year!

6. FootyCash has a great developer, active development, and the best community support!

7. FootyCash has a promising roadmap and is currently developing Masternodes and Anonymous Send like DASH and PIVX for the next release.

8.  The name FootyCash may sound funny but "Footy Cash" is an actual English term (apparently):

     https://www.power100.com.au/news/local-news/81959-footy-cash-to-go-to-good-friday-appeal
     and
     http://www.heraldsun.com.au/ipad/california-club-brothel-sues-in-footy-cash-feud/news-story/bd77f7d397a34a067342a113b5bfa5d8

9. DraftKings, FanDuel, and other Fantasy Sports companies are getting the legislative green light to operate in most U.S States and other countries as well.

https://www.law360.com/articles/944544/draftkings-fanduel-can-focus-on-dfs-legalization-post-deal

Quote
Over the past year and a half, DraftKings and FanDuel have been able to convince state lawmakers in eight states to expressly legalize DFS, most significantly in New York as it ended lawsuits by the state attorney general.

When these companies decide to follow the trend of most corporations and switch to blockchain technology - I guarantee you that they will take a hard look at FootyCash first!

Quote
Why would Draftkings or Fanduel select FootyCash (FOOT) for customer deposits/withdrawals over conventional Cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin or Ethereum?  Why should they use FootyCash over Bitcoin?

FootyCash (FOOT) is the first cryptocurrency designed for Fantasy Sports and there are only 4 million total coins ever; as good as those reasons are, what makes FootyCash a better choice over Bitcoin for DraftKings and Fanduel customer deposits/withdrawals are the following reasons:

FootyCash's roadmap and ongoing development will make FootyCash far better for Fantasy Sports than the other more popular coins such as Bitcoin, etc.

FootyCash will have features that are specifically designed for Fantasy Sports and gambling as a whole.

One example is an Anonymous Send feature like DASH and PIVX.  Bitcoin does not have Masternodes nor an Anonymous Send feature but FootyCash is currently developing these features.

The legality of Fantasy Sports in every country is not clear, most being ambiguous at best. Even though most U.S states are legalizing Fantasy Sports gambling there are some people who would feel more comfortable with a coin designed to protect them in the area where the law may not be clear.

Both Draftkings and Fanduel also would want a coin that can cater to the Fantasy Sports industry as a whole, with features designed for Fantasy Sports - i.e fantasy sidechains, etc...

Bitcoin can't do that, but FootyCash can.

*****************************************************************

FootyCash (FOOT) dev just confirmed Anonymous Send feature like DASH and PIVX to be added along with masternodes in the new release of FootyCash:

From:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1374929.400

The focus right now is on creating masternodes for the coin.  They will help provide stability to the network and incentives for ownership.

We are making excellent progress, and will update the community on details for how many coins are required for a masternode, features, and other important information shortly.

Welcome to any new members of the community ;D

How many coins to avail in masternodes? What is the benifets if i buy masternodes? It looks good for me i just want to know some more info about this coin thank you dev. I wish i could buy some cheap coins until the masternodes emplimentation is release

There are a number of important features outlined below.  We will be releasing details on masternode requirements soon.

The fantasy sports industry needs faster payment methods and anonymity to protect personal information, so these features fall right in line with our mission statement.

Features

  • Anonymous Transactions
  • Improved Network Security
  • Faster transactions
  • Decentralization
  • Community voting on proposals

Are you going to use the same Anonymous Send features as DASH or PIVX?

Yes.  What we are working on for the masternodes will have an anonymous transaction like PIVX and DASH.  Still testing things, and will keep the community updated.  Hope to have something ready in the next week.

My opinion,
currently is a good time to buy altcoin, because if seen on monthly chart, altcoin prices are currently very cheap.
august is still a mystery, but it does not affect me, I just use moments like this to buy cheaply.

before buying altcoin, See their prices move this year, consider how their developers work, and find out what advantages and disadvantages of altcoin

The best time to buy altcoins is when the price is low.
And I think right now is the best time to buy altcoins.

g.evening everyone! just would like to share, give you an advise and remind you for this case

ethereum ETH, Monero XMR, Factom FCT, DASH, are all leading coins and traded the most volume daily. You should follow the coin’s chart and identify low and stable periods. Such periods are likely to be a consolidation period by the whales, and when the right time comes, accompanied by a good press release of the project, the pump will start and they will sell in profit

As you can see, now that the whole altcoin is going down, I see red everywhere on the trading floors, maybe bitcoin has caused serious effects on altcoin. They are in low value, so now is a good time to buy them.

At least... few weeks after aug 1 as there are still lots of uncertainty. Currently all alts are already pretty low but still i suggest to wait as they could get lower, buy only when you see market is recovering for days. There are lots of potential alts that have been heavily disputed by this event make sure you don't miss out those.

Hi guys. I'm looking to invest a couple of thousand dollars in cryptocurrency. I'm not a trader and would like to invest in currently undervalued alcoins with the best potential for the long term growth. Investing to altcoin is very risky. Sometimes you can get profit, but all people cannot earn with them.  But if you like to, the perfect time to get altcoin is when its price goes down. After that wait for the time that it will back to normal.

If you know that I think you need buying at now with the price of crypto in current. The market crypto in today very cheap if compare few months ago when Bullish trend still alive. I think if have free funds in present, buying altcoin and waiting is best choice for future.

The perfect time in buying altcoin can be somewhat compared with  buying bitcoin though they are really similar because they are bith cryptocurrency which normally experiencing price pump and dump. What you need is just be patient and observable and always updated on price value status to better see the best shot of dump (the lowest price you can possibly see) to buy altcoins and wait another chance to sell them when you think that the price have already reaches its highest  price pump you can imagine it will.

today man i wiould recommend only BTC alts went up x10-x100 same time BTC made just +80% in year so if its drops that will be little same time alts if falls it will be HUGE correction.
If you plan cuying alts maybe consider some good ICO is better bet than any shitcoin IMO but risky as hell  too:)

so thats mean , the better for this situation is , spend ur btc to altcoin or u will/can invest to Good ICO , than hold BTC to get BCC ?
actually i have no idea for this ,
i have a little cheap of btc on bittrex and hitbtc
then i withdrawal 50% of total btc on the sites to mycellum wallet ,And the rest I bought some ltc and some ERC 20 TOKEN
but i just confused are the price will same or not.
Because as i see on all news i read , No one gives any definite clarity
its like a universal gambling.

That would be good buying altcoin waiting and hold it until go back in a normal thats how i do also hopefully there would be a perfect time. But for now buying would be great.

With the User Activated Soft Fork (UASF) on August 1st if panic ensues the price of coins across the board will be fairly low and would be a great time to buy if the exchanges are not locked up.
Do your research then buy low sell high and have a lot of patience, Hold the valuable coins and don't look back and most importantly remember emotions have no place in the world of crypto trading.

Yes it is risky, but how can you earn income if you can't take the risk? In crytocurrencies industry we can't survive if we can't take the risk of investment, business, trading or even gambling. If you don't want risk so just join to signature campaign or use faucets and captchas as your source of income daily.

I think altcoin's best time for buying is just the same with the bitcoin's best time for buying. A strategical way to know when to buy cryptocurrency is to observe and be updated on the price value status of every cryptocurrency in the market. It is best way to buy altcoin when its price dump an opportunity to add up your altcoin holdings and sell those when the price pumps to gain more profit that is surely beneficial on your part.

I think this time could be a good time when the market trying dumped, or you can wait for a lot of people panic sell their alts when 1 August.

Why would people panic sell aug 1?

as far i know ,
btc will got trouble ,And when btc exposed to the problem will result to other altcoin, now the real problem is whether the impact of 1 aug will make the altcoin value strengthen or weaken.

now ,Try to make your own speculation

Dont wait too much or you just missed this chance.
And I think as we're stepping few steps away to August 1 it will dump more as many will go crazy.

I agree with you altcoin has dropped a lot compared to a month ago. I think I should buy it now because it will certainly be pumping from the whale. I hope after August all the market will be green

Actually if you really what to make money through crytocurrency trading now is the best time to invest in them. Many altcoins that has potential of getting to $500 before 2023 are currently below $5. You can study the following altcoins for investment lisk, strats, Silvercoin, dao, creamcoin and Zcash.

Why wait? Immediately do or you will lose the moment where the price will be cheap. And after the 1st of August we have lost the moment to buy. As prices continue to climb. And eth is perfect for long-term investment.
