That is just very clever data and this was expected to happen. The price also has shown upward movement now and I'm happy with. How cool it is that the mining efficiency has increased all the way 2.6x the original mining capacity and blockchain. That's really cool. The size of blockchain increased and that's what we wanted to happen. God bless BTC always and let our huddles decrease likewise. :-)

I wanted to sell 50% of my BitcoinCash  holdings once funding was enabled on Bittrex yesterday.  I didn't trust the Electron Cash Wallet and tried to sign the transaction in cold storage but it kept of giving me a (value "") error whatever that means so I gave up.  

I wake up this morning and the price has dropped $210 from what it was yesterday when I tried  ::)

I said fuck it better get something for this free money while it still has value and used the Electron cash connected wallet to dump everything.  Shapeshift helped lock the price for 1/2 my holdings and the other half I sent to Bittrex.  

4 hours later and still only 2 confirmations out of the 20 required.  

Only fools were supporting it in the first place, they all jumped the place calling it the new King, saying replacement has come, it barely taken 2 days and you can see the price has instantly fallen. I feel this shall disappear very soon, don't know why the miners did try it only to make a fool of themselves. Bitcoin is the king but yet they don't understand.

I think the developers of BCH should run ICO first then the coin will be popular. Many people will be interested in bounty programs. That's the process for altcoins. ALl the coin holders will be suporters that make the coin stay stable. In the case of BCH, The developers are hijacking bitcoin users to accept BCH. Those only stupid users who accept rewards 2800 :280 or 10 : 1. The value of BCH continues to drop then will be overtaked by ETH again or even by dogecoin.

This was obvious to happen and I guess altcoins are affected because people has got attention towards bitcoin a lot and also most of them are engaged in selling their BCC/BCH. I'm speculating that altcoins will take charge soon and bloom in the market again. So it's good opportunity for altcoin miners and traders.

How sad to know this that bitcoin cash really got "famousity" just for few days and so the problems gets it branches. I guess it is better that had pre launch before they totally launched to see how many will be the users of this and so with those who will going to trust them. If you think of it, they are famous holder of bitcoin and other alternative coins, saying that, I will take advantage of that and attract other people to invest. The investors follow what they say and invest in these altcoin, so the other lower investors do the same because they  just follow the popular investor because they thought that they will be having profit the same with those known investors but it will not happen, they are taking advantage of the people below.

1.  Bitcoin is not "Core".  Bitcoin is permissionless and has more than one dev team.  If Core were to control everything forever and people supported that, Bitcoin would be centralised.

2.  A fork is not "getting it for free".  It's bringing competition into the market.  Whatever the market perceives the strongest coin to be will be the strongest coin.  If the price was high you'd call it a pump - do you really have so much confirmation bias that you would use the price to hate Bitcoin Cash regardless of what actually happens?

ICOs are a terrible means of distribution and always will be.  Mining is far better to distribute a new coin and a fork is a good way if you're trying to engage Bitcoin users, because it has the same distribution as the longest-running cryptocurrency (Bitcoin).

Bitcoin Cash are very explicit about their opposition to SegWit and they did not implement SegWit into their code.

Bitcoin Cash is like a fraudulent ICO. Fake pump, hard dump, big loss if you didn't sell it fast as possible...

Anyway we received the coins for free giving the opportunity to make fast extra profit. At same time nothing will change related to Bitcoin, it will continue being the main Crypto-Currency among all the other AltCoins, this fork was good, I'm waiting for the next one.

I think this Bitcoin Cash will hardly survive the competition on the road. This is quite hard for Bitcoin Cash when the great majority are despising its release. There seems to be too much feeling of against the existence of Bitcoin Cash. Bitcoin is still the one to be impressive up to now.

Exactly whats the point in mining it anymore now. I had thought that BCH won't be successful but well I didn't expect it to lose in the game so soon. I don't see the BCH sustaining anything once everyone dumps their BCH.

Yes bitcoin cash is predicted to not have a long time enthusiasts. Bitcoin cash is said to be an altcoin that only seeks sensation. Although the initial price had reached high once but now bitcoin cash is not more like altcoin being dumping. It could be that the decline will continue, so be it before it's too late and pray that what you do is the best way.  ;D

You read that wrong. The difficult of that chain is 26% of that of bitcoin. This does not mean the hash rate is 26% .. its more like 5%.
Thats why the block time in BCC is hours, not minutes.

A simple way to calculate hash rate ratio:

If 26% of hash power was in BCC then a block will be found in 10 mins. If a block is found every hour, then hash rate is actually 26/6 or about 4 %

To track the actual hash rate, we need an accurate measure of average block time in BCC, which will take few more days to estimate better.

Is the BCH chain difficulty completely readjusted or is there more readjustment to be done?

That was right I am also thinking that it would only be famous in crypto world in a couple or days maybe a week and it will just end up like any other alts.

Well, knowing a lot of the support for BCC that I've seen on this forum and around the community in other places, it's pretty apparent that that is exactly what they think they can do. BCC was being hailed by some as some kind of BTC killer by being more effective than BTC in the state it is now (and would have been then). But the market has shown that it really doesn't care and BCC is a failed attempt at extracting some power from the community. Now it doesn't really matter and we can see BCC flounder and then fail.

The good thing is.... the more Bitcoin Hijack attempts, the sooner they fail, the sooner people start understanding you can't just hijack a cryptocurrency as community believes in its developers and its whitepaper, not just some greedy clowns like Roger Ver and Jihan Wu for instance.

Bitcoin cash has dropped thirty three percent , to $290 a coin, over the past twenty four hours. These are early days for the coin and I think it will survive. I have seen cóns drop more than thirty percent only to recover.

Ver must have made millions with this little scheme. I wouldn't be surprised if this coin ends up being a few bucks in the near future.

It was only because deposits and withdrawals were blocked. There was a very limited number of coins on each exchange. It didn't have much in common with normal trading.

BCC is nothing special, but I think it won't disappear. It's a great speculative asset, just like many altcoins that don't offer any big advantages to their users. For instance dogecoin, it got big because people like the idea, not because it was revolutionary in any way. It won't take much effort to pump BCC and I'm quite sure someone will attempt it.

Bitcoin cash added a feature to adjust difficulty downward. Basically, if less than six blocks are found in 12 hours, the difficulty goes down by 20%.

But, a downward adjustment in difficulty has a lot of consequences for a miner. A miner will be able to find a block 20% faster and thus spend 20% less electricity. This means that mining a block on bitcoin cash becomes more attractive.

Block 478,571 took 13 hours to mine, so there were six difficulty adjustments downward. This resulted in the difficulty of bitcoin cash being roughly 26.2% that of bitcoin.

In this light, it is even possible that the amount of time it took to mine the 13-hour block was purposeful, meant to trigger adjustments and make bitcoin cash more attractive to mine.

Bitcoin is still more profitable to mine, though, as it is giving roughly 10x the reward (current ratio of bitcoin price to bitcoin cash price is roughly 10:1) for 4x the work.

If, however, there were another 12 hours of no blocks on the bitcoin cash chain, this would trigger another 6 difficulty adjustments downward. This would mean that the difficulty on bitcoin cash would be 6.87% that of Bitcoin.

The profitability calculation would suddenly change. Finding Bitcoin blocks would be 14.5x as hard as bitcoin cash and assuming the price ratio stayed at around 10:1, it would be more rational to mine bitcoin cash blocks instead.

An exodus of miners from one coin to the other may cause bitcoin cash's price to rise (hash power and price have correlated in coins in the past), making the problem worse.

My guess is some big entities are mining blocks just to get rid of their free bcc crap because lack of block movement makes it hard to trade that shit otherwise.

How about the future of bitcoin cash seems to be highly an unpredictable one. Now this has been considered as an  altcoin that got more popularity because of getting existence from bitcoin. I've been wanting to earn more money through the use of Bitcoin. I've invested most of my money to these digital currencies. I am a student so a few coins for you is a lot for me. I've bought .15BTC last week the bitcoin price dump back to one thousands. I stored it to my Electrum wallet and just after the fork I've installed Electron wallet and copied my private key there. Now the BCC wallet in Bittrex is done and I want to sell my BCC but I've found out that when I transact my BCC, my BTC will do the same, please be careful and don't do same mistake as I did.

First off, what are you using, a laptop? Or an android phone? You said that you are using Electrum and Electronic Cash which is said to have a risk using the two at the same time. Can you cancel the transaction? From what you've stated, you did not send your bitcoins another wallet, so I think that is your mistake.

I think that is my big mistake. I did not read carefully what is posted by sir theymos. I am so excited to get my own BCCs that I did not even look carefully what to do. I am using android and downloaded Electron Cash. I can't, more like I did not because I was so excited after sending the BCCs I exit the application and imagine how much I can earn from that.And yes, I did not move my bitcoin to another wallet.

Bitcoin Cash need to be STAGNATIZED. They are ruining the original forecasted future of Bitcoin. It's an insult to Satoshi Nakamoto's original purpose. There should only be one Bitcoin in the Bitcoin Codebase network.

This is one of the reasons why Bitcoin Cash should NOT exist — why any altcoins should not exist in the same Bitcoin Codebase as Bitcoin. Bitcoin ABC designed Replay Protection for Bitcoin Cash. From what happened to you, Bitcoin ABC are a bunch of LIARS!  Since both coins are in the same Bitcoin Codebase network, a transaction meant for Bitcoin Cash might get processed in Bitcoin too and vice-versa. This means a user that meant to pay for something with Bitcoin Cash, will accidentally also send his Bitcoin. This means he might lose his Bitcoin, depending on who he sent it to.

I think we don't need to be afraid of this Bitcoin Cash. Based on his statement he is the one at fault and not the wallet or neither the makers or supporters of the altcoin. Miners who are still mining this shitcoin are just wasting their valuable resources, they will never recover all their mining cost with this bitcoincash or bitcoinclone.  Support of bitcoin core is quite huge right now because most of miners like the concept of segwit2x rather than huge 8 mb blocks bitcoincash have proposed.

Not quite true. There is an incentive for big miners to mine the shit so they can confirm transactions which allow them to sell off their massive stores of shitcoin for bitcoin. Once they've done that they'll stop mining it.

The high prices were only there when people were trading what the exchanges had credited to them. Most people withdrew to their own wallets, and when deposits were enabled, that's when the crash came.

Hahaha, I am sure that you are one of the victims of the trading game play with a lot of money. You need to know, that all this happened because they already take account of all the things that will happen. If you are one of the victims of the horrible trade, then it must be this be a lesson to you. And you don't have to worry about the future of the BCH, for if I see from all the things that exist in the BCH is an innovation that is quite good. So it is good for long term investment
 

But why we need such an innovation when bitcoin itself becoming so versatile to scale higher volumes. I could not find the any backing criteria to consider BCH is a long-term investment. Most probably BCH is going to help bitcoin system as a test rat. This is kind of experimental to have big block size with the exact bitcoin economic specifications.

In last 24 hours only 20 blocks were mined in BCH. I am not seeing any big future for it other than devs will learn a big lessons about forking core.

Well, feel sorry to bch, can you believe guys? On my exchange site bch could touch $ 1.1k? And finally people who get it for free in droves sell it. To my amazement, as the price drops to the present time back to around $ 200, the volume of bch on my exchange site is even increasing. Do they entrust their investment returns on bch. Is there any good news about bch itself.

Merchant/business might support Bitcoin Cash only if we see very high Bitcoin fees versus low Bitcoin Cash fees. Whether it happens, we have to see. But my understanding is SegWit wont help keeping the Bitcoin transaction fees low in the long run. So in the end, the variant of Bitcoin with lowest fees become preffered. Anyway, competetion is effective way to find optimal solution, so there is nothing to lose from Bitcoin Cash. Actually its win-win situation, because we going to know for sure what path is optimal by trying both.

Is this one of those strange exchanges that need you to scan your passport, verify via mobile phone and on top of it all send them your photo? I've noticed that low volume exchanges tend to have higher prices of BCC. If you see a very high price there may be something behind it, like a ridiculously high number of verifications needed for an exchange to confirm your transfer or other problems with sending or withdrawing your money.

it depend what you mean with long run, because with double the room for the block limit, i think we can push the value to 8k-10k, before having another issue with high fee, and bitcoin cash high block limit is useless, if no oen is using it for purchase, you need adoption to make the bigger block size worth it, bitcoin cash is just a stupid altcoin lol

If you think of it, having a bitcoin cash is not free. You bought or maybe save your bitcoins in a wallet (exchanger or not). I don't but maybe you have earned them through bounties or sig camps or gambling or maybe bought it. So you can't say that you earned it for free.

there is nothing free in this world and same is the case with bitcoin cash no one has got them totally free of cost we must have paying something that we are unaware of in return of this new currency but I am glad people didn’t pay much attention to this so called free cash and sold them immediately in order to buy more bitcoins.

I can't wait for this idea become real. It will be in 2018. SegWit will be active since 8 August but it's only temporary solution.

Calm down your horses sir. I think this is also your own fault you don't need to blame it on Bitcoin Cash since it reaches a good buying price week before the fork.
Also, if you hold some bitcoins before the fork, I think you have yourself now a couple of bitcoin cash that you can sell now for Bitcoins.

I guess obviously what i was expecting in bitcoin cash not to pump in the level of bitcoin obviously it will just go and dump in its price i guess because the split i guess was no basis to create a coin that will continue to circulate in thethe market like bitcoin.

At a current ratio of 6% value to BTC, I'm inclined to agree that Bitcoin Cash can go Fork itself, hard... in the a$$...

It is a win win situation for the Bitcoin-holders. Before the split, the prices were approx. $2,700 per coin. Now the prices are close to $3,700 ($3,400 for Bitcoin, and around $300 per coin for Bitcoin cash).

There already was a big airdrop, you just had to own some BTC. Why big? Because there are people who own hundreds of BTC and these people instantly got a gift of at least $50k USD. That's huge. If you're a bitcoin holder you could sell all those BCC days ago and buy a new car or a trip around the world at the expense of Roger Ver and Bitmain ;)

There is some interest at bcc, some old miners might turn on to mine those altcoin, since difficulty is 1/5 the real bitcoin value, i dont know really the fair value, but for the most bitcoin holders it were a free money giveaway, i can say thanks for the boost, and we are all able to see bitcoin price has picked the bcc value and now has crossed the 3000 dollars and looking to reach bigger values.

As far as couple exchanges ever seen things everything seems to be fine, once you got past the 24-hour. We're there cash wallets for setting up, they were ready to go, simply treating cash as though it was a different and new alt coin. Bitcoin cash will prove out to be altcoin and it has nothing to do with bitcoin itself.

To be honest I did not saw many bitcoin cash supporters in the forum, at most I saw some people excited about the possibility of making money with this coin and that was it, most people were behind the Core developers the whole time since we knew that this coin was not only an alt but a terrible idea and an attempt to weaken bitcoin and its developers, fortunately it seems to have failed.

As the price of bitcoin has peaking high the value of bitcoin cash too is growing big. This is unexpected, because as the price began to decline everyone found this to be gonna fell much lower. There has to be another coin that similar or better to bitcoin, which is BCC, why there is gold and its value and also diamond with its value, i believe diomand owners doesnt like gold owners and vice versa, same reason there has to be another coin, so far BCC doing to job but users, we are dumping as soon as the price goes little up.

It can happen but at the same time with the fork coming on November we will have in theory three different coins, to me there is no room for three coins calling themselves bitcoin, one needs to die and even if the 2MB fork has not happened yet, bitcoin cash looks like the weakest of all three, so if bitcoin cash does not disappear in the next weeks or months then it could disappear in the next year.

yea you are right, if we made decision, we must never looked back because this will make us to step forward than before. i sell my bitcoin cash because for me its a free money and i can sell it whatever the price and if somehow the price is down, then i can buy again with lower price like what is happen now. but i still have bitcoin cash in my wallet and i won't sell it right now and i am waiting the price is getting pump like before.

I sold all my original bcc and bought some back. Later sold that. Today it has increased 65% but is dropping back slightly now. Trading at 0.21 btc. Will it go below 0.1 again? Some will lose heavy if it does. I think it is here to stay and could make money for day traders due to volatility.
