is it possible that we can use bitcoins in buying all commodities not only in one country but the entire wold? and how will this affect the economy.

I think we don't need tor rush right now. The reason they are implementing many solutions for the issues of bitcoin is that they are looking forward to these developments. I think it will be possible after years of finding solutions to the problem of transacting and using bitcoin. In terms of economy, I think bitcoin is helping the economy of one's country because bitcoin are creating new millionaires to people.

there's nothing impossible my friend. What we have now, and what we use now is a dream of people in the long time ago. Every people just dream on it and just need time to make it true. Of course we can use bitcoin as a international currency, but not now. there's still a few people that know bitcoin, and more few that know and have it. I can say , maybe a develop country would do it firstly like right now. there are some country who accept bitcoin in their trx. And how it will affect the economy, I dont really understand, but if it still free for taxes, ofcourse It will be affect the economy.

It is possible, but for now you can not purchase all commodities because not all of business or companies accept bitcoin payment.

No country will ever adapt it (or an alt) as their official currency, fiat still holds many real world benefits. I think they will work alongside each other quite well though, the fact it's international is really great and that is so much easier than international bank transfers etc.. as the law is defined in the coin itself rather than multiple different countries confusing each other.

Yes it is possible but it may take some time or years as bitcoin don't have a stable price in the market though you could use bitcoin for payment online and some physical store who accepted bitcoin.

This would require everyone to use bitcoin. For obvious reasons, bitcoin cannot be used everywhere (or outside of a wifi field, for that matter). there are some situations where you simply cannot avoid fiat; physical tokenized value just makes a lot of sense for the way that we conduct business in this day and age.

Scaling be damned, if we attempt to process even a fraction of the transactions ACH sees in a day, your miner would ignite in protest :) we would need to do alot to accommodate all that traffic. and to be honest, it would be inefficient to use the network in this manner. fiat is very quick, very clean. the only processing power you need is the calories you used to give a person back change.

Yes, right now what we have got is limited access to shopping. In future this will change when more people starts using bitcoin and most of the stores will have bitcoin as one among the payment. Now for our requirement we're supposed to search hard and find the right person and make the transaction using escrow or through service renders similar to bitpay.

I think this will be along process, since countries have their own currency but its not just that, every currency has its own history and justifies the sovereignty of that country. Making it impossible for cryptocurrency to fully replace the existing currencies of countries.

With the current situation, no i don't think it is possible. Everyone will have to be using bitcoin. Third world countries that do have access to the internet will be left out. Will create more problems for them. Price stability is needed and legal issues is  another problem that will hold us back from making it the world currency.

We can reach tot that point where all of the people here are using bitcoin or if not all, but most or the majority of the people uses bitcoin. Because, we can do it by contacting someone whether in this forum or outside, who provides something that you need, even though it's risky and you can buy it in the country. But, if more countries legalize bitcoin or isssue some regulations about bitcoin as a legal payment, then it will be easier and become a great support for bitcoin growth.

You are right, I misspoke. I meant the supply chain of consumer goods instead of everyone. Producers/ raw material  processors would need to accept btc, which mean the folks that construct the factories, and the workers in the factory, would have to accept btc. next. the people that buy these raw materials to turn into consumer products would need to be able to buy them in btc, and sell them for btc. which leads to the warehouses, and finally the consumer storefronts, who would need to accept btc as well as pay wages in btc. So finally, the consumer would need to buy the product in btc, meaning btc would have to be ubiquitous enough to be a common form of value.

all that, seems like a LOT of adoption. and we just barely solved scaling. essentially, bitcoin will be long dead and another alt will have taken its place at this point. after all this time, bitcoin is still bleeding edge and unadopted. it will take a fresh age for the level of adoption needed to foster this.

I remember hearing about bitcoin printed out like bills too, not a paper wallet but an attempt at a bitcoin fiat. Now that I think about it, it pretty much would be a paper wallet, the key to the funds would be required unless  there was a trusted, centralized issuer. which flies in the face of what bitcoin represents ;)

I think it is possible to used Bitcoin to purchase anything from all over the world that was the purpose of Bitcoin being created, but it is not that simple, we still need time to persuade people to used Bitcoin, we need to prepare Bitcoin to be able being used in global transaction without any problem, so Bitcoin still need time to be a perfect world currency

It is possible but not in the next couple of decades. There is only a very small percentage of bitcoin users as compared to the world's population. It is beginning to be famous but more as an asset or a precious possession rather than a payment stuff like money.

I think we are almost there and we are in the middle of the road before we reach our destination. It's just a few more challenges on bitcoin before it makes it way to it's full objective which is to be used by all countries.

Slow down, right now we don't need that. Bitcoin right now is mostly classified as an investment that can be spent and do other things. Bitcoin users are only a small amount of the world and we need to make sure everyone understands bitcoin and most importantly, uses it for it to grow in popularity, price and then we have a chance of this happening.

Some countries still have not legalised bitcoin yet, and when they do, they need to implement new laws mostly related to taxing bitcoin and some countries still dislike bitcoin.

The possibility of this happening is not something I am seeing happening not now, not in the future only if its limited to individual transactions and not on marketable level because for the world over acceptance to happen, then it means that the it should be adopted by the whole countries which is something I don't see it happening because currencies of individual countries represent their identities and to let go of such high value identity will take more than conviction.

Bitcoin now is on the road to be legal in other countries, its already started to used for some transactions through online. But being a world currency its not possible but maybe it takes a years to happen. I don't know how long, but this is a guaranteed long process with a lot of opinions hearings and backfires on both sides. We all know that bitcoin is as high as ever and this is unstoppable, august one is like the fire that ignites this whole process and I think even some politicians and businessmen are rethinking and reconsidering their views about cryptocurrencies.

Bitcoin has transaction fees , why don't you convert bitcoin to normal currency and buy whatever you want,it's not necessary that you need to use bitcoin only for buying what you need is it? We can buy goods in many parts of the world by Bitcoin but we can only buy in countries where Bitcoin is accepted or legalized. But most of the time, we all have to pay Bitcoin by scanning the QR code, so i'm expecting something like a VISA card

I think you can convert bitcoin to cash in any moment in whole world already, its nothing new for bitcoin community. Bitcoin is world currency, we have talk about it here even more then a year ago here, and this year some countries recognized bitcoin as legal currency, that is a good sign and that will continue in the world, bitcoin soon will be legal and official world currency, but it is that even now from my view.

Yeah, it is possible, but not very probable. First of all, if everyone did switch to Bitcoin, governments would feel threatened. And once the governments feel threatened they would ban Bitcoin.

Moreover, the economy would fall quickly. Since no one has any way of confirming that a wallet has a certain amount of Bitcoin in it, (If you own the private keys, that is) governments can’t tax Bitcoin. Well, they can, but it will depend on the sincerity of the citizens. They would have to honestly fill out tax forms and submit it to the government. Otherwise, the economy would fall. But when you think about it carefully, who cares about a fiat economy if everyone is using Bitcoin? :) This is what I speculate. If I am wrong, please do correct me.

i i dont think that still there is any impact of bitcoin on Fiat currency, i think it will continue for a long time, becasue still the majority of peole are using fiat currency and they do not know anything about bitcoin. but in future when bitcoin will become so much popular then we can expect that bitcoin will turn fiat currency as devalue, but i think there is no such impact of bitcoin of fiat currency.

What you mean by buying all commodities? Like making Bitcoin replacing the "mighty" USA Dollar as the mode of international commerce? I don't think that can be coming soon. The big reason why we have the USA Dollar is because of its relative stability and it is backed by the supposedly "mighty" USA government (not anymore with gold). Now, these things are not features of Bitcoin.

The only thing going for Bitcoin is that it is backed by the people who are using it right now. Though it has intrinsic value in itself, without this support of the people who are holding Bitcoin right now it is actually nothing.

All good points, interestingly the Swiss franc is always seen by experts as more stable than USD but isn't as popular. I don’t really know what commodities you’re talking about…but I believe you can buy any commodity, if you’re able to find someone that owns it and is also accepting Bitcoin as a payment for the commodity he owns.

    I agree with you, Bitcoin do not have stable price in the market so as of now it is impossible for it to become a world currency also this digital currency or this cryptocurrency is not accepted in many countries all over the world. Let me give you a good example. If all the people in one country will work and the bitcoin will be the payment there will be no tax and the country will fall, we all know that the whenever you work in a country you need to pay a tax and in bitcoin there is no tax the only thing bitcoin has is a transaction fee.

But there's a solution to it, if a country accepts the bitcoin as their currency they need to have 1 bitcoin wallet that's only applicable to the country and need to only have 1 bitcoin wallet for every person. And whenever bitcoin comes to a wallet they will deduct it depends on how much bitcoin you receive.

Your idea of having a currency which allows anybody arround the world to buy and sell using bitcoin is good. I think its happening already, we can see it where different people are offering diferrent service and goods.  Seeing how bitcoin works now, I think bitcoin is pretty good functioning along side with other currencies. I  think we can already call bitcoin  as "world currency" . But we are still on the process on making bitcoin available to all kinds of commodities, we cant rush it to happen. It is now under the development, then I think the countries part is to take their action how to apply tax with their people using bitcoin. It seems to me that you are in a hurry. Bitcoin still not be called a currency. He has all the characteristics of currency. Indeed there are some places where you can pay with bitcoin but they are too few. Everything is still in order to make a purchase need to exchange bitcoins for Fiat.

I dont think so, we should consider the fact that for now most of the countries doesnt recognized bitcoin and its potentials , and people should accept the fact we cannot purchase all the commodities since estates are not yet acquiring bitcoin as a way of exchange since its volatile, they cannot predict how low or when it will depreciate . Fiat will still the national currency of each country because its is stabnle and it also represents the identity of each country, government will not use bitcoin since its decentralized for being worldwide currency.

Bitcoin can help the export sector because bitcoin provide the easier transaction than the current methode  that really provide the high barier to do export or import.

I'm happy with the gravity of your believe in bitcoin and I'm somehow not happy with what you guys said about bitcoin overthrowing $ because this is the exact reason why the Chinese government never accept bitcoin as currency and which is also  the reason why they ban bitcoin exchange in other to protect their national currency.

For now bitcoin is still a form of a digital product and not a currency yet, and some of us here really are rushing out for this. Keep calm and don't let it to come immediately, because it will really take more time becoming world's currency. It's possible that we can use bitcoin to buy all commodities from all the countries but don't include those countries that will implement ban to bitcoin. Bitcoin is indeed a freedom to be used by everyone, and hasn't really been arranged by governments and banks. Freedom of transactions can be do by many bitcoin users of course, but still bitcoin hasn't really considered official as the regular currency which is inaugurated by all countries, given the price is still not yet stable that easily influenced by various things. Since the bitcoin don't have any stable price so they may seems scared of buying bitcoin. According to me there are enough crypto currencies in the world to trade and pair against the bitcoin. They are filled with amazing as well as shitty coins too and I don't think we need more than that to cover our needs. Why would even go for trading crypto against the real commodities in the world ? This will increase the complexity of valuation as one relies on th real world market cap and the other one relies on the market cap which is produced by investing fiat into virtual internet. There is different aspect of both but they will not even workout even if out together. It's better to sip cup of tea over the crypto currency trades rather than 5 days limited market of real world.

I don't think that Bitcoin can become world currency  as Bitcoin can not work offline which simply makes it unsuitable for everyday transactions. Moreover, Bitcoin transaction are not as quick as paper money transactions are. It can be used in a limited sense as it is being used now,but no one will use it for large transactions just yet.

I agree with you, the bitcoin now is not so powerful to compete in other demand currency. I think it would be better if we could use bitcoin in buying basic commodities, it would just be easier nit carrying money around, you won't get worried by it getting lost or dropping your money or maybe some pick pocket will get it. I agree in using it to buy all that we need but we can't use it in some country like here in my country some establishment that we here we can use it to buy some stuffs that we needed and more establishment that do we have don't accept it yet. It is possible but at the same time it is going to take a lot of time for that to happen, right now we are nowhere close to reach something like that so we do not know how many years or even decades that is going to take but I do not mind I'm willing to wait until bitcoin is finally accepted all over the world, the effects that is going to have on the economy are going to be tremendous, but at that point I'm sure that some countries are going to forbid bitcoin in fear bitcoin crashes their economies.

At the end of the day you are spending electricity to hash a code and you can’t force the rest of the world’s population to take your code and give you food and gasoline if they don’t want to.

Also, guess what happens when people feel excluded or controlled by a system....they break out and create a new one.
