I been sort of a enthusiast and involved in crypto since 2013 I think. I haven't been that active until last month when I really put tons of hours reading and catching up. I have talked so much about crypto with family members that they ask me to save some funds for them in crypto and I believe BTC is the safest bet. I got some at 2700 but the price is going up like crazy, usually there is a correction but it seems BTC has a rocket in its behind :) My question is for long term is it better to wait or is the price going to keep rising. Maybe we have a new bottom? I know it's speculation but curious what people are thinking. Other than that I'm glad to be a part of this great technology and promoting it. I know it's speculation but curious what people are thinking. it is impossible to tell with bitcoin. i don't know how DannyHamilton is 100% sure but what i say is that there is a pretty good chance that in long term price will keep on rising. it is a very simple supply and demand relationship and because the supply is limited and fixed and at the same time the demand is rising, price will rise. but you know, bitcoin is still a new technology. it is even still in beta! and the market is too small and too volatile. which is why i say a "pretty good chance" instead of being 100% sure. Its good to have the mindset of continue increase in the price of bitcoin but at the same time you need to increase your learning ability to develop thick skin on what is coming up next because its not going to be like this all the time since the crypto-world is faced with several difficulties at any point in time. Also, I want to enjoin you to not be moved by the skyrocket price thereby moving funds you cannot afford to lose into crpto thinking thats how its going to continue or that you want to make multiplying effect of your investment within a short period of time. Bitcoin makes everyone lives now much more exciting and amazing. I got to know bitcoin two years ago, the regret I had is that I do not started the time I got to know it. I was afraid that time but thankfully I am now one of you here earning bitcoins. And indeed, its amazing.

There is a tremendous scope for the growth in next 10 years, even if we are considering the market of fiat users who are using fiat currencies to remit funds using digital wallets, the expected price of Bitcoin would be much more than what you mentioned. I believe that Bitcoin is far undervalued at this moment but it's not worth $1,000,000 now. However, I believe that in the coming decade, we are going to experience exponential growth in the price and user base of Bitcoin. I hope that this year, the value of bitcoin must go up since the supply is going fewer. Bitcoin is the best and it has the potential to replace the national currency. There is a very good chance for it to be 1m$ We're gonna be dancing with cash if the price go as high as that, well it is possible but we need some large market cap, everyone must use this currency and every country or some big countries must legalize it's usage. Well I'm considering Bitcoin as my investment that's why I'm putting myself into work in order to have as many btc I can. Maybe fund it once in a while with leftover change from your active wallets. Doesn't matter that the price is high now and it doesn't matter if the price goes down again after this. If you look at the big picture, it's a good investment to save some Bitcoins long term. It is better to hold bitcoin it always gets pumped and dumped, but also it increases year by year. You can check the charts, ofcourse at the moment it is more violaite, because more people have invested in it, but still the tottal market cap is too small at the moment and bitcoin has a potential of growing. Its good right now because the bitcoin value is rising again after the fork . To be honest i'm not even considering the one million dollar goal. Even at 10k is a huge gain. I'm aware of the 21milj cap and the fact that so many people don't even know about BTC. So the market can and will grow for sure steadily. I have made many mistakes at the beginning where I was impulsive but I know better now that no matter what you don't sell when the market crashes! About the whales, sure there are many but at the same time it the demand is there it will be picked up by people. I mean if I see a drop to 1800 I will but not sell. In that regard whales will just lose as I see it. It really feels like BTC is gold 2.0 of our era. I also hold a little ETH, XEM, NEO, LTC and few others to spread the risk but still i believe BTC is king 😃 Maybe I'm too optimistic? Yes right now Bitcoin is not so well known with other people that are not into money right now and I think if all that people would simply know something about this things that can surely make them money they will not hesitate to grab that opportunity and that if all people would certainly have a knowledge about bitcoin I think that the market cap would grow. It's really hard to speculate if this steam will continue long term. However, you said that you have already the money, then I guess instead of waiting for the price to go low, why not get it right now? You may missed opportunity to profit if you just keep on waiting for a correction. And once you buy it, just store it in your wallet see it grows. And maybe down the road we can see like $4000-$10000 and that is easy profit for you. And then continue to buy a small portion if you can and you wouldn't notice that you already accumulate more overtime. But you need to have a lot patience and not sell them if you see the price increases. Just hold on it and the rewards for it will be very fulfilling trust me. :) Goodluck to you. when Bitcoin just edged over $3000, since last week it has seen new activity and seems to be very happy to be close to $3500. I certainly think Bitcoin is "THE ONE" for the future. Not spreading FUD here, just being very realistic. In the future out of nowhere an altcoin could just beat bitcoin in every other category and steal the number 1 spot from bitcoin. That's the main reason I always suggest diversifying investments to people, and not only invest in bitcoin alone. I would frame it this way: Most traders will fail. On average, it's probably smarter to invest for the long term, realizing gains over the course of years rather than worrying about short term peaks and troughs (and potentially losing coins while doing so). However, some people do very well at trading. I've known crypto traders who have definitely made millions of dollars by now trading BTCUSD and altcoins. It all depends on your trading abilities, willingness to learn and risk management. The mount is limited, and the users keep growing. So more and more people are using it, more and more the price will climb high. Is not impossible the price will reach $1.000.000/btc, because if most of people are deciding to keep their money in btc than keep in the bank, you'll see the future currency that we're talking right now come true. That'a why Im holding my coins tight now for all we know bitcoin will rocket high sooner. Just getting small amount when I needed badly some fiat then thats it. Bitcoin boost all about the hard fork that corrected it recently and increased its efficiency along with the blockchain technology. Now for those people who don't really wanna go too technical it is like upgrading a Software by correcting its bugs. That's why it is more efficient now and pushing itself toward high values in the market. It wouldn't be long that bitcoin will catch a price of minimum 10K USD either this year or for sure next year. No matter how many people sell the bitcoin due to it's increased price, it will always go up as the big investors are far genuine about their investment and they will keep making it healthy forever. Bitcoin is rocking.

One thing I don't really know is if I want to take profit and wait for a dip, what currency do I go to. Sites like bittrex don't sell into dollar. Going to other crypto has its risk as well. I'm actually a holder but with BTC, Ethereum, ltc all rising so much there has to be a correction even if it's a small one. Any tips on that? Looking at charts of btc prices, the recent dips in price were nearly all due to uncertainty and fear over bitcoin unlimited or the latest fork. It might be fair to label it speculation but that doesn't mean there aren't reasons behind price movements that can be defined. Goldman Sachs analysts have called for btc to reach $3,900. I would guess that's the upper limit although it could go higher. It depends on how many long term btc holders decide to dump their holdings, cash out of btc and find some new investments. I have invented and other cryptos also but none of them had a price graph as BTC, they either remain relatively constant or drop down within 4-5 months of their creation. With some arm twisting and proof I made money they finally got crypto, one of them made six times his investment and the other is doing good to. Bitcoin has had such a positive effect on my life and people around me and I want to spread this more and empower more people. So many investors coming in and also atleast 5 hedge funds are being formed solely for crypto trading so the future is bright ahead. I got some at 2700 but the price is going up like crazy, usually there is a correction but it seems BTC has a rocket in its behind :) My question is for long term is it better to wait or is the price going to keep rising. I am so certain about this, that I am willing to commit to pay you 10 BTC if it never reaches an exchange rate of $1,000,000 per 1 BTC. I have really thought about this as a possibility and I hope this kind of development can happen anytime soon in the next few years (10 years maybe) ... A huge development on its adoption by most countries can cause that anyway. I even look forward to more better days when 1 satoshi will be equal to 1 USD. I'm still hoping that before technology catches up with Bitcoin it will have one last peak on which I can sell. When it's around 4700 USD, if ever, I'm selling and switching completely to Ethereum, which still has a longer time to live.

Well if your goal is a higher return then its better to hold bitcoin in long term basis and yes corrections do come and even bad news just like what is happening right now. Bitcoin might touch again to the price when you bought it but rest assured that bitcoin will still go up and will skyrocket. I am slight evolved some time before it , mined my bitcoin on my HP laptop but spent almost all of it in a Namecoin stuff ..then they moved to ASIC thing and I invest in the butterfly stuff ( remind the FBI sized thing ) |
