What's the difference between "activity" and "posts"?

There's a same question here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1962169.0 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1962169.0)

You might want to check it out and maybe find the answer there.

They are different post is just a post count in your account and activity is time that you are active..
Look at the post by theymos below.
The activity number is determined in this way:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

Activity is updated every hour.

Check more about activity and rank or position here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178608.0

Hope this helps.

The difference between activity and post is you can post everytime you want and its counted, but the activity has limit ,it is only 14 activity in 2 weeks. So it means you only have 1 activity in one day, but in post you can have more post every day no matter how much you like but its not counted as same with your cativity.

Actually in my own perspective it is almost the same the 'Post' and 'Activity' because when you post something it is consider an activity with your account it is just that activity is limited 14 times in 2 weeks or 1 activity per day, here is the thread for you to fully understand it.

Does this mean that you can only get 30 activity after 6 weeks? AKA you can only post pictures/links after 6 weeks?

I think its not depends on quality post, your activity is always update with in 2 weeks, if you want to join in signature campaign it is depends on your quality post .

A rule of thumb that I kind of try to follow is that my number of posts remains higher than my activity. If posts=activity it means that your number of weeks active times 2 is higher than your number of posts. i.e. your no of posts determines your activity score. So by raising your posts, your activity is increasing with it.

Thanks a lot ,it seems that i have to wait at least 30 days to get 30 activity.
I'm not sure about this . We can get more activities in a day by posting .

But you can't get more than 14 activity for 2 weeks period

If I understood well, this technically means that activities count is updated once every two weeks and 14 activities added to ones previous count?

Basically. As long as you have posted at least once in that period then the 14 activity is added as potential activity. But, activity will never be higher than posts. So unless you already have 14 more posts than your activity it won't jump 14.

Now I understand  better. Activities count is gotten from post and by this implications, posts count has to be definitely higher than activities. Thanks a lot

In every post you made in forum ,your activity added 14 actvities every 2 weeks. In your daily post every day 1 activity will be added ,they  are always connected but they are different. The post is much higher than your activity.

Does not the online time spent surfing the forum count as an activity too? Or only the posts that are computed?

No. Time spent online counts for absolute nothing other than an indication of how much life you don't have  :D. The only way to gain activity is by posting and making sure you post at least once in each two week period. Miss a period and you lose that activity forever.

Why do most people only have an activity counter and not posts?

Post and activity are connected. Basically, a post is anything you post in a forum. You can acquire activity through posting. Your activity is counted within a period of 2 weeks which gives you a maximum of 14 activities or 14 days of being active in your account.

Go to profile --- Forum Profile Information --- Show post count by posts: Shows post count in addition to activity next to posts. Then just check the box to show your posts count
