By the looks of things with bitcoin sky rocketing, this looks familiar!! Another crash is imenent, taking the alt-coins down with it hard!!  Anybody seeing the same pattern here we seen in June of this year!!?

Nope it is pretty much still in the bull. We should see BTC at $5000 milestone mark sometime this month, but my guessing is probably this week.

Yes, I also feel the same way as before, they rise rapidly and eventually fall. In this case Bitcoin is the most vulnerable.

here is what usually happens:
- bitcoin goes up > altcoins get dumped
- bitcoin dumps > altcoins get dumped harder
- bitcoin stays stable > altcoins get pumped

you should hope for the third option to happen. and the reason for it is very simple, in both first 2 options traders are always in bitcoin market either picking up cheap coins or making profit or shorting,...

but when option #3 happens, they look for an alternative way of making money. and that would be altcoin market and the pumps in it.

Still in the bull, yes, but it can go bearish in a snap of a finger.

I agree though that a crash is coming, as it has always been that way with bitcoin whereas if it grew too much in price in a short span of time it usually crashes hard. The only question is, how hard and how long? Our last crash from $3000 to $1800 only took around 10 days as well as the other huge dips, and we were immediately back to the bull market after that duration. I sure hope it wouldn't crash too hard though, hopefully a price support on the $3000 mark.


Everyone here is hoping for the #3 outcome. But hoping isn't gonna stop the crash from happening, as we had what? a 60% increase in only 15 days from $2700? You could see the price crash from a mile away.

The correction is necessary actually, I don't think it'll go back to the previous price but will hold for more than $3500. If it goes into the stable mood then it'll be a great thing for all the altcoins. Let's see how big dump it'll be this time.

Bitcoin and Altcoin will increase in few months coming. Altcoin price goes down when the bitcoin price increase rapidly, it is vice versa to balance the coins in the exchange or trader. So don't be panic when the price goes down because after a month it will recover its price.

I don't see any crash coming. There is no potential bad news on the horizon. Bitcoin is not being pumped, there are no huge fomo's. It has self correction within the slow rise to its current level. You should watch the rise and falls within its slow rise to new heights. Best to look at a real time chart to see what I mean. Falls usually occur when a coin is being pushed hard with lots of buying and no selling. But when there is a steady rise above lots of buying and selling then you should feel safe. I am still new but I have bitten the bullet on many fomo's early on and usually don't panic when there is alot of red bars with the green bars in the slow climb to new heights.

Either way, if you are afraid, take some precautions. I took some profit and bought cheap silver. That way if there is a crash I hedged myself.

There doesn't need to be any bad news for bitcoin's price to crash. It simply just rose too fast in a short timespan. I'm not saying that it's guaranteed for huge crash soon, but it's more likely.

With all honesty, tell me. How is a 60% increase from $2700 to $4300 in only 10 to 15 days a "slow rise to new heights"? I don't see in any way how you call that a slow rise. Maybe you should take a look at the charts yourself, since I'm not sure if we're looking at the same graph. How do you even know or prove how there are no "huge fomo's" anyway?

The healthier the market, any market, the more unpredictable it is. For sure the trend is bullish, from 1 cent to 4250$ in matters of less then 10 years is remarkably bullish. Of course the market will try to get rid of the traders that bought in at all times high, that's how it works.

In 2014 I realized that if I don't want to miss any BTC mooning, I need to hold, selling high and buying low in our case is almost impossible, BTC did not met a stable price as of now. It will only go up, with proper corrections of course.

i dont think there will be another crash happen by this year... all I know is by this month BTC will increase more and reach till $5000 and that the real thing happen... dont worry about altcoin just hold on to them whales will not forget there siblings....

The same with me I hope bitcoin don't fall as many new investors will like to take profit at this new level of $4,300! From the looks of things this pattern keep on repeating itself and hope this is not going to be a serious clash. Let it be a little correction for another pump as I personally and if you study you will find out that fundamentally price should be going up for now but technically price is extremely overbought!

The #3 option is more reasonable and economical to all of us.
Hoping that will really happen, that is so just to all of us here, no more red to be seen in the exchanges.
But for the history it is rarely happen. The market doesnt go with what we want and things turned out differently.

just keep on holding your bitcoins for long term and enjoy the profit that you will gain when bitcoin reaches $10,000-$50,000 in a year or so.

meanwhile only look for altcoins that are getting pumped, not those that have already been pumped, don't be a naive bagholder ;)

Bitcoin seems to have started correction process. Ideal situation for alts is if BTC stabilizes and trades sideways around 4k for a while. Then alts will find space to grow.

I personally don't believe we will have another crash that soon. At least not before it reaches 5k milestone. We better hope for it to stay stable for a while otherwise alt coins will eventually go down.

Its possible but there would be no crash after all. There might be a price correction and its just normal on this kind of situation when price of bitcoin do suddenly go up non stop as of now and we do almost hit up 4500 which is really an amazing thing but price corrections would really happen soon and we should wait for that time to happen and selling on the possible sweetest spot as we can.

i think it is just normal for it to crash. Crash as in fall down in price not to have technical difficulties. Because if you are a very keen observer of the price you would know when to sell the price before it falls down again. Not after the price would go up but probably just to cooldown and laylow transaction that could happen everyhour. A lotof altcoin also still are having negative increase so i guess these could mean something.

Its bound to happen. You're right, it can't all be an upward trend everytime so i think a lot of people are actually expecting a drop though i don't think it can be considered as a crash. Everytime bitcoin price drops, it recovers and it recovers a lot stronger. So we shoyldn't wprry ourselves in case a "crash" happens soon. Might just be a good time to buy btcs also.

I also have the same feeling, just like you have, the prices of the bitcoin and other alt coins has pumped a lot recently, so it is time to have some rest and wash out some short time investors.

The crash in July was mostly because of the uncertainties related to August 1st and not really a correction. Recently there is a increase in acceptance of Cryptocurrencies. It is getting a better market. The price is set to rise. July was just a halt. I don't think a huge crash is lined up. There would be some correction but won't be that big. Bitcoin will easily touch $5k mark.

Yeah its time for profit taking and make way for other altcoins that did not pump but we have to wait for bitcoin to stabilize first before they take off. For sure there are a lot of traders that have big smile in there faces now.

agree, the ico market is so hot, many project were sold out very soon, its similiar with July when bancor and tenx ico, there is a high chance the crash will come

WE are the ones causing crashes actually because when we panic and sell your bitcoins we contribute to dumps. Why don't we all just sitback and HODL our bitcoins, make the price stable, and then trade altcoins.  8)

In June, when Bitcoin recovered and started gaining some momentum, the alts also recovered along with it. It was a good time as they were all going together upward. But the thing now is rather different because when BTC soared high, the alts go down. And now that BTC is starting to go down a bit, the alts are going high.

There were no crashing coming again to our crypto world thata for sure... Btc are increase too high to after the fork and it will increase until the end of this month... Or maybe a week this month. But after that it will stabilize its price and thats what i am waiting for... It is good to me that i buy btc after the fork because in my speculation that time it will increase it value its a bit gambling but who can tell im taking the risk but now see my earnings... Know it is the gokd time to buy altbas it will be pump up again after the price of btc will stabilize

You guys are using the word "crash" incorrectly.  It is a price correction, not a crash.

I don't see any crash in recent time the June crash happened because of bitcoin hard fork now everything stable even some of alt coins doing really well like bqx and mco.

my opinion about altcoins dump i think after the of this month of august the altcoin comie again to rebond and pumping the value follow with the bitcoin continue uprisring the value in the crypto currencies world looks the bitcoin dump because of split issue all of us wooried about the standing of bitcoin but after all the bitcoin come ups and now continue to increasing the value, maybe same situation for the altcoins.

I do not think it is a crash. What is happening is all the speculators and day traders regularly cash out their bitcoin and altcoins into fiat and as more and more people are joining and most of them are young. They tend to come into this business only for fast money, nothing else, so their behavior is getting more and more ruthless as they get more and more greedy and become bigger and bigger whales. That is the truth of it my Friends unfortunately. If you have noticed so many scams are also popping up of late because too many of these people only want easy money, same as the day traders.

You are not referring to a crash of course. A serious dip perhaps may be right. Because a crash is too fatal a word to apply to a normal fluctuation of cryptocurrencies' prices.

Should stabilize.

Yes now the time for Bitcoin so it is growing, and all altcoins are decreasing. When the Bitcoin is stable after that altcoins price starts to increase. I think all the users and investors are investing in the only bitcoin and people are not trading altcoins that are why the price of the altcoin is decreasing. Once the Bitcoin price stable for some time then we can see an increment in altcoins price.

That is right, it is normal to see big crash after a big pumping, so the short term investor should be aware of that risk, but for long term investors, it is nothing big at all. And I prefer to be a long term investor.

I actually agree with this, as you can see a lot of people who holds altcoin sells altcoin because of the temption that bitcoin brings. Who wouldn't want to have bitcoins when it's pumped really hard. The second option is also true, when bitcoin dumps most likely it affects altcoins too. The best option is the third one, I guess there's no need to explain.

I'm in this for the long haul so if another crash comes (and it will at some point) then I'm going to get more fiat into crypto; with the majority of it into BTC.  I think it's rather funny that BTC was around $500 a year ago and if BTC was to fall to $2000 today we'd consider it a crash and panic.

I expected bitcoin to fall once segwit got locked-in, but that hasn't really happened. Maybe it will fall once sw gets activated.
Either way, I'm expecting a big dip in advance of the potential November fork.

I totally agree, I kept thinking why people would panic if bitcoin goes down even by $1000, when it was $500 just a year ago. Ofcourse, bitcoin and alts would crash at some point, you should panic if you're the type of investor who's just into short-term investment. But, if you're into long-term investment there's no need to panic even if it crushes because it will surely go up and again and maybe higher than the amount now.

Yeah, but it's getting pumped and pumped even harder everyday creating a new all time high. It looks like a very enduring balloon that just doesn't want to explode despite you blowing it harder and harder, but then when it does, the boom going to be probably great. However I don't see it dropping below $2000, I mean it would definitely kill all the altcoins with it, so it's maybe better that this won't happen. But the possibility of going all in with your fiat money on this discounted price and then look at the bitcoin topping new thousands...

I would really like alts to pump for a while before any BTC correction. They're just starting to recover from the last crash.

I think it happens all the time, bitcoin and altcoin price going down drastically. The funny thing is a lot of people panics a lot when it crashes. Bitcoin started at less than a dollar, it even costs $500 before, why bother if it goes down to $2000 or $1500, it will just increase, time is only needed.

I'm afraid of the crash.

When we panic we lose the chances we can multiply our savings when time comes. We just need to be patience some alts that were in demand now were not even noticed before. Like btc they can pump depending on the purpose of that token.

I always thought that alt coins are always raising after bitcoin, but it looks like I was wrong. Almost all alts are in red on all exchangers. I don't know why it is exactly so, but suppose that people decided to say no to altcoins, the bigger mass of which are just shitcoins, and move on bitcoin which get double it's price in shorter period than a month.

We all should have to calm down, price is like a bouncy ride and you should always be prepared of that. Price will gain and regain it's value when it hits the good demand and eventually lose when dumps will happen most of the time. Everyday fluctuations happen and you should stay focus on your goals and don't panic, trust what you aim for and never lose hope.

It does not look like a crash just yet we are up over 1000$ in just 2 weeks of course it is gonna be bouncy we are skyrocketing so hard.

All investors are trying to catch up with bitcoin with the aim of getting $5,000 right now. This is causing crash in all altcoins as usual.

This is a consideration for sure, there are some Alts that are pretty secure at the moment though,
Ethereum, Litecoin, Dash, Monero. While there are fluctuations they still seem to be keeping pace
with Bitcoin. Then there are other Alt's that are for sure suffering the current interest in Bitcoin.

Yep, I agree. I was surprised during one of the last crashes how good was ethereum to maintain the value. I didn't expect that, probably that was the moment in which something "shifted" ;D

A hedge is something that goes up in price when the other goes down. Silver is not a hedge that can counter balance a decline in crypto.

The general tendency of the bitcoin price is rather positive with some market corrections from time to time, which is very normal. The relation between the BTC price and altcoins is not always direct or evident. Altcoins may loose some value if the BTC price artificially increases due to a lot of people buying BTC and naturally selling the altcoins. However, they certainly get some increase in value due to the general hype around cryptocurrencies in general. Although, it doesn´t mean that all Altcoins are a good investment right now.

There are many people now are waiting for this dip to happen. This will lead for some altcoins to rise. I'm very excited for this to happen so I can trade all my coins.

what is best to do now is to buy those coins which high in possibility to rise up while some correction will happen, those coins which already have a trace of quickly bouncing back after downfall happen we just needed to buy them while its still in a downfall status then wait and see what will happen next.

Frankly speaking in anticipation of the price to fall actually you are losing the opportunity to buy right now and as the demand and price will only increase so will price will only rise in coming time. And then it will be too late to buy at a high price. Instead buy now and invest in some altcoin too and make some gains from it.

I would suggest getting out before 5k milestone if everyone is planning to dump at 5k then getting out now might be more prudent or maybe at like 4700ish

The same pattern like that of June has form and I think very soon, we would start to experience correction in bitcoin and other crytocurrency because traders may likely try to take profit. Since there is no serious fundamentals analysis news that affect the market I don't expect a serious clash but a minor correction! Up and down is the pattern of this market as the price cannot continually going up it will make bitcoin to be Notting if they are no traders to buy. We should also note that this market is a bull and bears market the two opposing power will always trying to control the market.

If there is a price increase there would be always a price decrease and its really just really a normal thing and correction would really happen later on.It might not happening as of now but it would definitely be done later on.
Its not actually a crash because if we are using the word crash it would be showing price decrease into severe down percentage on its ATH.

There is a difference between a crash and a correction, and it looks like Bitcoin is heading for a correction when people take some of their profits. A Goldman Sachs technical analyst said last week that Bitcoin is heading for a possible fith wave where it could reach around $4,800 before it could sell off to $2,200. The market is very volatile and price swings are part of it.

I expect a crash every second. Better be prepared. But BTC is very strong today, might go down ~20-30% max. All IMHO.

Yeah, good point, most of the users defining crash instead of correction waves. Corrections are the foreshadow of the possible bullish market. They're not bad. But, a crash happens and it destroys the price structure at that moment hardly and harshly. I don't expect any crash soon.
